hey welcome back to the channel we got big things happening today we're gonna go on a little tour a little adventure um make sure you like and subscribe this will be the last video of 2020 uh big things happening in 2021 excited to announce some of that stuff to you guys today i don't know if it'll start [Applause] [Music] [Applause] oh here we are we're filming on location today and somebody is pumped about it well here we are spring brook farm matheson family let's go meet frank what are you doing here oh not much came to check the place out all right sounds like a plan where are we spring brook farm littleton frank matheson let's go check the place out let's go tell us a little bit about the place uh it's been in my family for 300 years same farm same family since 1713 we raise green corn soybeans small grains vegetables beef cows do a little bit everything we used to milk cows not anymore uh yeah farm family since 1713. oh so how many acres of corn and soybeans and small grains oh there's probably 250 acres of ground that gets run for row crops and then 50 or so acres of vegetables and probably 50 acres of hay and greenhouses and a bakery and two farm stands commercial kitchen alrighty what everybody wants to see let's see some equipment tell us a little bit about it uh this has been here for probably close to 30 years had it in the shop for a while had a new motor mta new clutch do center pins still needs a little work but it's out and moving and it's my own man's favorite i think yeah yeah so 33.88 you had three of them this summer right yeah we had three and we only got two two plus twos regretfully sold one of them but just an average old workhorse 1466. boy where do we start with this one this is a good tractor we've had this for i don't know a little over 10 years we took the cab off they put the fenders on it painted at the time fix it up a little bit here and there it's just does chore work mostly now it's semi-retired i would say see it's on the manure spreader right now i don't know how many hours it has but it is probably been around the block a few times this is what two years old this yeah two years old uh 42 by 80 morton building need more space i need another one of these maybe two it's nice though you can fit all the all the nice stuff under cover and at least get a head start on keeping stuff nice two months and planners you got a third don't you uh it's a matter of planner it's a similar air planner set up for vegetables you pretty much plant all your veggies row crop veggies or whatnot right yeah start selling the greenhouses some stuff get started in the greenhouse i'd say probably 40 percent gets planted as plugs and the other 60 gets planted with a planter you got your forklift set up yeah 5140 i don't know that kind of bad it bounces around using all fall moving pumpkins and squash in the field with the forklift it kind of does a little bit everything another chore tractor great tracker though definitely a nice machine a couple of magnums yeah the 8950 we've had for i don't know four years now came out of north dakota when we bought it it's good 7 000 hours but it's in real nice shape it's a beaut [Applause] does all tillage pretty much does tillage work that's about all it does you like the suction mount ram mount it's all right it falls off sometimes that is true that's what i got in the chopper for everything and then you got the 8920 uh this does plant in the side dressing uh he'll do some other weird odd jobs here and there he pretty much runs a planner in the side dresser and hangs out with the rest of the year so you got the gps and this one then yeah turnbull 750. it's got front duals that go on it planting and rear duals obviously set on 30 inch centers that's not the planter you're using that's not the planter we're using it's our old planner it's for sale right yeah it needs a new home what do you want for it uh 18 000 i think you said six row lift and rotate on a cart so you can put a drill in the cart too three-point hitch you can put anything on there but you can put a drill on it if you wanted to be pretty handy i think if anybody's interested hit up frank thing's a unit too yeah you might have seen this on the duffy channel already 15 foot go back to about a year ago we dropped this video so this was on the 15 or the 14. what were you running oh it was on the magnum it was on a magnet yes it was so it's been two times over to our place once with the oh it's been over there like four times one's on the 14 once in the 15. it's been all over so 986 last fall that is true so great planes 15 foot no-till drill real it's a unit absolute round but it's amazing in the field yeah you got small seed hoppers for it too right yeah small seed hopper's gonna go on at this this spring and that's set up on what seven and a half inch rows seven and a half inch spacing uh it's good keaton seed firmers and wet tails if we ever want to go that route so putting liquid on and there's this toy so looking back when i bought the mac which i wasn't on youtube frank got this toy at the same time same auction i think we uh equally influenced each other yeah it worked out but spray has been good a lot of excuse me a lot of a lot of issues to work out but i think we have it ironed out now and it's pretty amazing how much ground you can cover so this is a 664 right yeah yeah 600 i think 660 gallon tank 60 foot booms you do have drop wise form right we put on it if we want to go that route split our applications up but yeah it was a lot to figure out but now that it works right it's good chrome pipe gotta have a problem this is combine put away dirty wow what is this yeah we're gonna blow it off here please do anything we got warm weather still this is what four years for you four or five years something like that we had a 1440 for 25 years before that so it's kind of an upgrade kind of very familiar a lot of creature comfort upgrades pretty much and you're running a six row six for a corn head 20 foot flex head yeah you got your flex head in here yeah this is a lot more than the comment that's like oh four the 504 we use a lot a lot of the times that'll rake all the hay and get using vegetables cultivating spraying stuff like that it's a pretty handy track there and we use this when we're not farming 1566. tell us about it it's a 76 it's a true black stripe it's got 4 500 original hours we've had it for a couple years you bought it kind of last minute needed a tracker to fill in when our previous big tractor had a breakdown and it's probably been the nice one of the nicest tracks we've ever bought it doesn't if i remember the price was pretty good yeah like 8 000 or something like that it just needed to get cleaned up and the way it went drops all the corn runs the drill most of the time does tillage does most hay get used quite a bit you do have the doors for it right one's bent or did you get one fixed um frank had a moment at my place once and he left the door open and well he didn't have a window any longer yeah that was that was my fault left the door open and rolled backwards but yeah all right let's see what else you got because that's not the end of any of this were you just scratching the surface you're scratching the service 545 feet cows pretty much every day with it 966 on the mixer i haven't had this one very long but there's another one of those things saw it for sale and couldn't refuse it for the price it's pretty good put a clutch in it old mixer wagon cattle trailer yep pretty fancy stickers on this thing huh got your skid steer on the other side right yeah the skid steer somebody did tell me in another video that i should buy a case scooter i agree you agree i agree you got that out of pink uh hoover's right yeah i do a lot with movers pretty much where we get all our parts and such but yeah it's been probably one of the handiest things we bought before that you didn't have one yeah no didn't have skits here before this moving up in the world jump trailer low bed i'm gonna probably catch hell for this but we don't rode the combine anywhere it gets put on a low bed every time it gets moved trailers in the yard it's here way easier me and one person can move 30 miles in 50 60 minutes not deal with all sorts of people and narrow roads you can jump on the highway and jump down because you farm quite a bit that's not right out the backyard right we're we're spread out 30 miles one way and hey we're filming come here sound guy is having a bad day film crew but yeah it's about 12 wide and 13 feet 5 inches tall and the low bed all closed up so it's big but it worked one of two tractor trailer tractors here two trucks here right now always could use more right oh we could use a couple more probably but yeah this is a 97 free liner n14 cummins uh great truck nothing bad to say about that gets gets used quite a bit not as much as it used to for us but we still haul all our own grain and equipment awesome hay a little bit of everything that's why the box trailers and everything else yeah box trailers on box trailers the other one right there we'll have to check out in a minute this is a unit yeah this is the truck dk auto car was a cement mixer my uncle and my dad put the aluminum body on it it's got uh 65 rears heavy spec truck walk around bumper can fit 650 or 700 bushel of corn in it just a big animal yep that's a sweet ride also a cummins truck more box trailers oh there nope we're not going there yet nope 766 yeah with a recently blown up motor but this does all the vegetable spraying and planting and this probably is one of the tractors that gets used the most we've had it for a long time it's a little guy but good for the veggie side for sure yeah yep a couple of toys just spare parts and spare parts the real original is not spare parts we use that you called corn with us for that yep that's all plenty of in for foreign 35.88 it just sits around doesn't get used a shame but the way she goes let's check this out the other semi tractor this is an 84 359 extended hood with uh kta cummins 18 speed it's a pretty sweet truck we've had it for five years now and my brother it's primarily my brother's toy we use it but it's been like a project doesn't see salt no doesn't it's pretty scared of the salt i don't blame it but it's not afraid to get worked either it gets run pretty much all summer just for farm stuff you know falling grain moving equipment but it's pretty sweet ride had it painted put the 36 inch bunker on it had a long bunk didn't it yeah it had a 60 inch bunk originally but it's pretty much all original it's not too other than the bunk it's pretty much how it was hasn't been mangled up too bad but it's still a work in progress we get a hardwood floor on the inside still kind of dirty right now school cool though yeah i don't know if it'll start [Music] definitely cold can't blame it on that we'll have to get some action of it in the springtime running yeah no she's cold-blooded for sure especially when it was 20 degrees last night yeah but i don't want that fool you she's no slouch she moves for those of you who don't know what a kta is it's a 19 liter cummins motor um way i understand it if you wanted this motor in 84 you had to pay an extra 17 or 18 000 on top of this to get this motor so there's a there isn't a lot of them out there it uh definitely fills up that extended width pretty big not much frank's got to go do uh customer support load them with some round bales and take some grain we got more discs trailers potato pickers they do potatoes um another set of discs adam lime fertilizer spreader and go barking out stuff and chasing stuff we still got we still got more to look at so i hope you guys are enjoying this it's cool frank took the time out to show me around um granted i've been around here before but i figured you guys would enjoy it so if you are and you enjoyed frank's con content i'll drop frank's uh instagram name here so you can follow him along really check out what he does he posts some stuff up um some of the beef heard liquid set up for the planter yep it wasn't a weight bracket of the magnum 186 hydro pretty much just grinds feed or runs a transplanter vegetables gale grinder mixer we do most of our mixing with uh the spare new holland mixer that's just here for insurance that's a roller mixer it's got a roller mill instead of a grinder which is broken right now but we normally use that to make crack corn stuff like that you got big things happening don't you yeah new roller mix are coming this week i think supposedly so that'll be good to get rid of this nightmare but and you do a lot of bagged tote bags yeah tote bags 50 pound bags i'd say 75 80 percent of our corn goes out in bags retail so makes it a little bit easier you got your bale wrapper bale wrapper potato planter green cleaner you do a good amount of potatoes right about two or three acres enough to have a few toys do it with here's the planter yep this is the corn planter it's a 12 row white uh 80 8 8 700 i think vertical fold three point hitch vertical fold folds up to what a six row yeah yep but this is what we plant most of our corn with now on the 8920 we have it on a uh donahue planter cart so you can pull this lock the wheels and pull this out flat to hook it up and we use lift assist wheels on the planner as well so it's kind of a pain to move around and set up but you can cover a lot of ground fast and there's no getting stuck this is your second year with it or going into your third going into our third year with it we'll have to check it out this spring what do we got here all sorts of mccormack 20 in the back i don't know the specifics on the oil pulp i know it's a heavyweight oil that's about all i know about it this is an 816 15 30. the deer guys will like that 435 you do have one beer i forgot about that yep that and the baler right uh anything else that's dear my uncle's got a 5400 in the loader loaders of deer 986 there's all around bailing a lot of hay work pretty good trash there you go square baler round baler that hasn't been cleaned out yet take a look at that oil puller if i get a thousand likes on this video frank's gonna pull this out and we're gonna plow with it this spring that's the plan that's true the rake was new this year the rate was new for last year yep round baylor green cart chopper might give the closet run for 20. i don't know hey we got a processor now i know big time you got all the magnum duals sitting inside how big is that buggy uh 525 bushel jn buggy that thing is indispensable well worth it well worth it best thing we ever bought you've been what five six years of the book five or six years now game changer for sure and some of your uncle's stuff yep my uncle's on the farm cuts firewood and plow snow we may sneak out there and check out some of his check out his toys like that yeah is that the one that was in the garage yep that's the one that was in the garage for a while and that's uh i'm gonna get an early mac right yeah i'm gonna get it wrong but i think it's a 26 or 27 mac ak the cab is all done i think the motor is the only thing left and it's going to get put together crazy another planner another white planner project that's just for fun you plant sweet corn with that one or no you plant sweet corn and then i don't know the monasteries work a little better and we've been setting it up i might do some no-till beans with it i'm not sure who knows you never know then what is this thing this is pride and joy yep it's pretty much does all the vegetable work besides the 766 a lot of spraying we've had it since noon unfortunately it's a great tractor i just don't like the inside of it no not a fan of it but look at those stripes yeah those are factory blue used to make a lot of hay when we milk cows well as everybody knows i have a chopper we take all of our corn and chop it up and feed it to the cows frank has a chopper too but as we saw he has a combine and on the combine side he's just taking on corn it would just be the kernels on soybeans it would just be the beans is that what it's considered yeah take the pods off take the beans out and then small grains you're just taking the grain like bringing the grain from the chaff so with corn if the moisture is above 15 we dry it our goal is to store around 13 14 so and normally our harvest moisture is anywhere from 18 to 22. so bring wet corn into this tall bin which feeds the dryer 108 gsi pretty small dryer on but flow it actually keeps up very well to the combine usually never a bottleneck here and that goes up to our three main bins for the air floors and i would say that and that's going to cross auger across the top crossover across the top there's probably close to 30 000 bushel of storage might not quite be that but then we have another 6 000 bushel on the other side of the farm and we have these copper tanks we keep oats and soybeans or other small grains in and of course and if you want to go back from my iowa trip we stopped at wim miller's and sons farms and we went through different operation of the size but same aspect of what it actually does yeah pretty much big storage and it continues i also picked up jazzy what are you doing [Music] more and tedder mower side dress unit which should be in the shed but what a shame yep right right jazzy this is actually where my freehold trailer if you haven't watched that video slide on back and you'll see some of this and what we how we got it out and everything else got some more beefers out here [Applause] makes life a little easier donut pretty much a major improvement over what we were doing prior it was free-for-all out there yeah a couple feeder wagons lots of mud but definitely makes it a little easier yeah cleans it up definitely you're gonna be milking dairy cows no time here so frank's uncle irv does wood split wood does he do something else pretty much split wood and snow plow snow trucks wood yeah turns wrenches pretty handy yep had some cool projects we'll see one of them or a few of them he's got another mac over there doesn't he yeah yeah he's got a train caboose because who wouldn't want to train caboose wood processor this isn't that old no he bought this this summer pretty fancy toy this is a fancy toy so for split and wood you put log lengths on cuts it to length and then splits it through and you just hang out in the house and party the whole time right future job for you that was a container trailer too wasn't it that was a container trailer yep now it's a log trailer multi-purpose such a sweet ride definitely it's the info on this this is a 77 359 it has a 1693 cap motor which if you know your trucks is a old old-school powerhouse 13-speed it's got a newer cut off with hendrickson primax 46s full lockers pretty sweet truck it's been the truck itself has been here for 30 years but it hasn't always looked like this sat around for a long time a couple years ago he decided he was going to fix it up and this is where we got wicked meat will we make it all sideways in this whole drink yeah so we got 12 inches of snow and then it became 50. i guess that did get a little slick though we got the ability to irrigate all of us right yep we have a pond and a reel and we grip all of our plastic mulch so do quite a bit of irrigation [Music] we'll get get on out of here let frank get back to work taking a bunch of his time but like i said slide on over check him out on instagram check the farm out if you're local stop here check it out so thanks for having us that's a wrap here i'm gonna get this home get this edited up for you guys this is gonna be the last video of 2020. um there's gonna be some changes in 2021 um first thing new intro some people have asked for that so i'm pretty excited if you
