good morning everyone it's mark Wiens at 6:30 a.m. in bangkok thailand i just woke up i hope that you're doing well hope that you are keeping healthy and in this video i'm gonna show you everything that i teach everything that i consume in one single day in bangkok thailand from breakfast lunch dinner snacks drinks my mother-in-law is gonna do some cooking i'm gonna show you everything that i eat that i consume in one single day and also i just cut my hair we might need to wear a hat okay so the very first thing I do every morning when I wake up is drink a bunch of water one more I think I'll probably wear a hat for the day [Music] but have to get this next beverage next thing I consume has to be coffee have a couple bags of coffee that I'm working on from these are from mi a roaster called Akiyama first thing to do is wash out the filter I'm not extremely technical when it comes to the coffee but definitely a few little things that make it taste better throw this water out never gets old ever every single Dale do without fail Muffy never gets old [Applause] [Music] fantastic oh yeah and at this point I drink my morning coffee I sometimes I do some reading or sometimes I if I have some work I need to get done immediately I start working some of the urgent things I need to do before breakfast even when we're traveling I bring my own coffee I have a the same kind of filter but a plastic filter so it's like and I grind coffee I I bring my own coffee too you can rarely put your trust in coffee from hotels oh it's kind of hot this morning oh yeah turned off the fan about 8:00 a.m. it's time for breakfast by the way here's the stash right here in the hallway upstairs the stack of t-shirts and stash of yes chips okay come back I'll show you that later breakfast time I'm filming a video are you ready for breakfast [Music] almost every single day for breakfast I have the same routine I'll show you that routine right now okay see the freezer [Music] okay these are right for today huh well these are very right well this is a variety called Maha channel I'll probably feel you don't even get first this is extremely rare Thank You Micah okay okay careful huh Michael loves to help me make oatmeal oh my god make it three spoons today for cleaning out hungry I am for the day some blueberries but we got them frozen in Thailand like us snacking on all the ingredients for the oatmeal black seed I try to eat this every single day because if its health very health benefits now I add hot water and I'm a fan of soupy oatmeal rather than like the gloopy mushy oatmeal so I keep it I keep it pretty soupy but I guess everyone has their own preference a sprinkle of cinnamon okay Mike I can you add a few handfuls of peanuts if you know fresh roasted peanuts and I get a lot of peanuts not only an oatmeal but snacking throughout the day I love every kind of nuts and walnuts and full of walnuts okay my god well scoop it up mango goes in mica can you help push the mango maybe just half of it not all of it it's quit a lot and then final step if I happen to have it maybe right now a little bit of almond milk to finish it off okay we're ready to eat like to come outside to eat breakfast stir this around all of that good stuff [Applause] [Music] good combination and he just this style but alternating fruits alternating ingredients but this main main composition of breakfast almost every single day another thing I would love to eat with you today so if you are feel free to eat a meal while you're watching this or even pause the video and grab a snack let's eat together today at home just finished with breakfast and usually at this time is when my mother-in-law starts cooking lunch she usually cooks in the morning so that it's cooler just some simple everyday kind of Thai southern Thai food especially southern Thai food that I love to eat [Music] my mother-in-law man she's gonna be making Gaeng some which is a southern Thai curry of turmeric and lots of chilies and fish my god be careful when I'm at home I eat gang so I'm probably at least twice maybe three times a week I love it it's delicious and those are yeah she uses a lot of chilies pretty tonight it's called pig belly on and only the red ones these are some of the hottest chilies so and she's also gonna add shallots and garlic about six shallots all head of garlic goes in one of the best things about experiences that you don't really have precise measurements for recipes but it's by experiences by ratios I'm guessing that's about sixty chilies maybe maybe more maybe 75 and like three or four chunks of turmeric six shallots and a whole head of garlic that smells so good that's for lunch this type of curry can be made with a variety of different fish and variety of different vegetables but today we have a slice of baka pong delay which is barramundi Asian sea bass from the sea and then also with green papaya and this is our curry blender normally the same dish come in game so just permanently Orange you can't even see through it anymore love it this gets a lot a lot of good use a lot of good meals have come out of here [Applause] [Applause] open up that lid you immediately can smell that aroma of shrimp paste shrimp paste a good dollop of shrimp paste goes in and also salt the curry the gang's home is ready that only takes like 30 minutes will it only takes her 30 minutes because she's done it so many times and now she's gonna get started on maybe mainly one more dish which is a chili dip with shrimp paste a very mature a - coconut milk coconut yeah so oftentimes in Thailand they don't even really drink water but I still drink it it's still really good it's mature so it's not as sweet or fragrant mmm it's good huh like it knows when it's coconut time she loves because he loves to get the shredded coconut [Music] [Music] my mother-in-law is also a Master Gardener and so in our yard she grows all sorts of plants but we're especially getting her to grow vegetables and herbs that we can eat so right now we have a bunch of fresh pork bone which is Morning Glory which she's going to harvest right now for lunch [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] that coconut milk is going to be for the Morning Glory once that cools down she just boiled it to thicken it but now she's gonna make numb pick up eat which is a shrimp paste chili dip that's gonna go with vegetables and other raw vegetables so shrimp paste looks like a little burger patty of shrimp paste and normally the shrimp paste would be grilled over fire but this is the quick easy way to do it at home [Music] [Music] Oh palm sugar goes in back to the office and normally after breakfast breakfast all the way up until lunch is when I do a lot of work in the morning so today I filmed my mother-in-law's she cooks but normally I'd be up here working she loves to cook so thank you so much to my mother-in-law thank you to me for cooking today to add in some hot water and we're just gonna add in a little bit first let those tea leaves open up and clean them and then we'll dump this out and then pour in more water strain this out mostly it's just that I love to be or I gotta have something to drink or snack on as I sit at the computer and tea I can drink tea all day long coffee you can only have a couple cups a day but tea you could just I just sit here and drink it all day long [Music] [Music] it's 11:30 a.m. normally I eat lunch a little bit on the earlier side because I'm ready for a break I'm hungry I'm ready to eat and then also because I usually do exercise mid-afternoon so I'm not too full when I get exercise but we've been getting we've been ordering especially since we've been home for a long time we've been ordering fresh organic vegetables they come delivery every week so we got all sorts of great vegetables and then also you have quite a few vegetables from our garden from our yard as well I don't really I gets a nice little basket of vegetables going you should really use the cutting board if you got rice and normally when I'm at home and go brown rice let's grab ah you know what let's just take that stock up a stink beans and sometimes I eat in the dining room sometimes I eat in the front of the house sometimes I eat right here in the kitchen the outdoor kitchen just set up the street food table just easy quick simple lunch homestyle dunks it's fish okay I'm gonna sit right here she's got a taste that Kang's home first has to be the first bite you take oh well never gets old for me I love it every day the sourness the turmeric the spice yeah oh it can feel a bit of a burn I love it oh yeah sweat immediately Mumbai Morning Glory you can see now that's almost like buttery consistency that coconut milk you take a few strands of it onto my plate of rice and I add on a little bit more of the coconut cream then dump it could be and those are pea eggplants I'm just kind of put a little bit on mmm-hmm and that combination the crispness of the Morning Glory with the sweet richness of the coconut cream contrasted by the salty shrimp taste of the shrimp paste hmm love that combination in that contrast and then pop these little guys out one of my favorite foods in the on the planet and you can dip that in and it also is very common to eat a stink beans along with Kings home along with southern Thai food just alternating bites is just so complementing [Music] and so this would be a very common style meal but many different combinations of different dishes but I try to eat a lot of vegetables when I'm home try to eat brown rice I usually eat less or very little red meat this is a typical lunch at home and Bangkok this is also often made with a fern called puck boot but this is what we have in a garden so that's what's precious today I'm not saying you've got a sweat during your meal but kind of the more you sweat the in Bangkok the better indicator of a more delicious meal you just ate we are successful today I'm just drenched it's time for that essential after lunch coffee and I made this one the same exact way that I made the the first coffee this morning if I don't have my afternoon coffee I run the risk of having to take a nap which sometimes I do a little nap after lunch the middle of the afternoon snack time and remember how I said I love nuts Brazil nuts but you can only one a day because of their high selenium content but it's also a superfood packed with nutrients and I just love them I'll probably have this orange right about now to made orange juice Micah so starting at about 3 or 4 p.m. I like to do exercise and effect mosquito oh man always lots of mosquitoes but a variety of different things sometimes jogging sometimes a routine of push-ups in all sorts of different exercises and then after that I'll run around and get some more exercise with Micah try to burn off his energy so that he sleeps well and that way we sleep well today I will cycle I'll cycle for about 45 minutes workout was great playing with mica and running around and burning the energy was great I worked up a huge sweat but now I've cooled down and Ying is gonna make me a small salad a type la which is a type of which is a mixture of herbs like a salad but I got to come outside and get some lemongrass here's the lemongrass and you want to cut these let's see way down here deep excellent well the chilies are coming back now you have a couple of chili bushes over here and I had eaten all of them in a couple days but now they've grown back so fast it's like a week later next up for some fresh mint this one is sawtooth coriander also called culantro put a handful of chillies a handful of garlic a little red chillies a little more extra chilies the great thing about those their entire are called picky newest one is that you can eat the stems you don't even need to pluck off the stem [Music] [Music] all of them it goes in and I will sit inside for dinner that game so got the plot I'll just get a few more vegetables and I'll get the podrace amazing dinner tonight have the gang some from this lunch also some leftover of the vegetable in the coconut milk and also the shrimp paste dip but then also have the pullout gloominess shrimp salad and then i also got some extra red cabbage purple cabbage and tomatoes claw that shrimp salad those are some pretty large shrimp too nice [Music] and apart from all of the herbs and chilies all you did was add fish sauce and lime juice as suggestion hmm I'll dip that purple cabbage some great combination and then back to the king some yeah that's spicy [Music] [Music] amazing well-rounded extremely colorful dare attack again I would love to eat dinner with you or lunch or breakfast or even snack but feel free to grab a snack grab a meal let's eat together [Music] soda water or carbonated water but it's 8 p.m. it's after actually it's 8:30 mica is in bed asleep now I come back to the office and I usually do some work or I do some reading or I do some other stuff get some oh oh yeah soda water durian chips my friends banana Joe oh yeah but actually when they make the chips it's a young durian so that it fries nicely and it's nice and crisp so it's not that pungent like a really really ripe period but nevertheless if there's one crunchy snack I could choose its durian chips and that's why I was so happy to collaborate with banana Joe for 100% king of fruits durian chips I love it I try not to eat them every night but they are addictive [Music] and so that's gonna wrap up that's gonna complete an entire day one single full day everything I consumed everything I ate in one single day you could see I eat a lot of vegetables I eat a lot of fruits one thing I just want to quickly emphasize is that eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables really boosts your immune system and so at this time and in this situation of the world I think it's a fantastic idea to make healthy eating choices to really focus
