A day and a life of a senior Business Analyst

my name is Mickel I wrote a check and I work as a senior business analyst for Boston Scientific Corporation my office is located in Galway and I work for the global information systems team and part the main part of our job would be to support our 20,000 some customers worldwide across 50 manufacturing facilities and distribution centers from Japan through Europe all the way to the United States of America suppose some of the biggest changes in my day-to-day work involve identifying and estimating how certain changes made to one application can impact other systems and the interfaces between those systems the complexity here is that many systems are interwoven with each other and it's sometimes quite difficult to establish boundaries between individual systems which is also coupled with by the regulations which are in place of regulating the medical device industry so essentially all systems interfaces applications have to be in compliance to FDA regulations and I suppose another challenge is sometimes it can be difficult to coordinate changes across multiple facilities with multiple customers across different time zones which adds certain layer of complexity to the overall management and problem I suppose the best part of my job is that keeping our customers happy it's not always easy because the tendency is for the isupport stuff to kind of work behind the scenes and we only I suppose get the spotlight when something goes wrong or something doesn't it because our customers just expect and assume that they've ever finished for granted so when they're lagging onto an application that is expected to be up and running they don't want issues so managing those and at the end of the day having your customers appear I suppose the biggest benefit the biggest joy of this job um in today's world where everything is globalized I suppose if you want to pursue a career where you get to interact with different people from different cultures for example we have developers in India we have vendors in the UK in Germany we have customers in America or Japan if you enjoy interacting with you know various individuals across different backgrounds and cultures and this is probably a career for you on a sidenote I firmly believe that in career and I T is very future proof and there is always going to be a strong demand for IT Crowd on the downside if you want to go great by the time you're 40 well that's something to consider as well
