a casual tries: Pokémon HeartGold Hardcore Nuzlocke - Part 2!

the final dragonite came out and used a thunder wave but it was all for naught as boy still matched to kill it with another slushy beam lance was done and we became the champion to complete the nuzlocke hello you thought the hard gold experience was over well you're wrong it continues here are the rules i'll just show it on the screen this time for a full refresher on what went on do check part one and see what it's all about during the johto adventure i managed to catch three of these pokemon that i didn't include in the first video i caught bugo the paris in alex forest and we managed to acquire a magnemite which we named magneto south of blackthorne city we also captured scorpo the gligar with a heavy heart we bid farewell to our precious theme members gusto and boldo they won't be forgotten after getting the ss ticket from professor elm and the pokedex upgraded by professor oak we boarded the cruise ship headed for vermilion city where we battled a few trainers and played hide and seek before proceeding with the gyms psycho the abra was caught east of saffron city and to the rest of it we caught a murkrow who we'll call honcho not long after psycho evolved into kadabra and not long after that with the game patched by the universal randomizer psycho went on to evolve again into another exam joining the adventure magneto evolved into magnemite after some training and just like psycho magneto went on to achieve his final form after a short trip to mount coronet just kidding universal randomizer came to the rescue again returning to the goldenrod game corner after a long session of voltron flip we obtained the thunderbolt tm for magneto and here we go with the gems the first gym we would face was the poison type gym since it had the lowest level cap of 50. so psycho is taking the lead there was nothing notable for this battle as we had the perfect pokemon to sweep janine's team psycho one shot all of janine's pokemon now i posted a comment on the previous video about doing the battle frontier in this run and the majority seem to agree that there was no issue challenging the battlefrontier in order to get one of the items here so after a long riding session in the battle tower and a couple of times facing frontier brain palmer we finally had enough points to get the item in question the razer fang after another bit of grinding and leveling scorpo would finally evolve into a glyce score and then we had some more fun at the battle tower to get the razor claw and at the next gym skorpo would truly show his worth in kanto as we rummage through lieutenant surge's trash bins we unlock the path to fight the war veteran again like the janine fight this battle also doesn't require much strategic commentary none of lieutenant surge's team really had the counter for scorpius typing so he just pretty much ended the fight with earthquakes we got the badge and we move on to prepare for the next set of gyms buggo the paris underwent some serious training and evolve into parasect bugo doesn't actually learn any physical grass type moves to complement her physical attack stats which was a real bummer the only move i could teach her was bullet seed so here's to hoping that would work before facing misty the order of the gym leaders left me a bit confused so i decided to go against sabrina the psychic gym leader here i messed up and got confused about the level caps so unfortunately i overleveled scorpo i wouldn't be able to use him in this fight even though i'm pretty sure he could one shot all of sabrina's pokemon with ex scissor nevertheless we went up to sabrina and started the battle a lot with battle knowing full well that he was very susceptible to psychic type moves that's why i decided to hit with u-turn hoping it would result in a one-shot unfortunately it didn't and i had to switch to boy boy tank two psychic attacks from his psychic counterpart and finished the espn off with the shadow ball her alakazam was next and i switched to bago hoping her type advantage would allow her to tank the psychic hit of course she's proving herself to be useless ononi went to switch again this time to magneto magneto would go on to win an endurance battle against alexander repeatedly hitting the psychic type with thunderbolts last was serena's mr mine the female mr mime opened with a light screen which allowed for a free thunderbolt it survived with more than half hp i decided to take a chance and hit one more thunderbolt knowing mr maya's special attack stat would be lower than the alekazam meaning magneto would be able to tank the hit and magneto did lowering the miami's health to red here i know sabrina was going to heal so i used the free turn to switch back to battle battle was faster than her foe and hid a u-turn the mr mime survived in the orange and decided to go for a useless mimic while i switched to porco porco finished sabrina's last pokemon with a flamethrower this was a pretty messy fight due to the fact that i couldn't use scorpo but the end justifies the means i suppose we run off with our third canto badge and we ventured on the next gym was erica and she was just bad she shouldn't even be a gym leader at this point 4 out of 8 badges obtained and finally it was time for bugo to prove herself to the team we navigated the maze in the cerulean gym and faced misty misty opened with a gold duck so i had to open with magneto the golduck tried to use a disable but it failed magneto hit back with the thunderbolt and downed it instantly next was the quagsire and the sole reason buggle was in the team i switched to bugo and it well for this part she tanked the earthquake well and shot two sets of bullet seats to take out the quagsire misty sent out her lapras next and i switched back to magneto who was immediately put to sleep it took a few turns of sleeping and tanking a lot of damage but magneto finally woke up and one shot at the lapras with the thunderbolt finally it was time for mrs last pokemon her starmie i switched back to bugo in hopes i can use a bug move on the starmie but she was left confused by confuse ray she hurt herself in her confusion and was one shot up by an icebeam you know what i'm not even mad i saw this coming i'm not even going to wish you a nice rest either buggo just stay down magneto had to come back out tank a risky water pulse and down it with a thunderbolt brock was next and it was time for bunno the nidoking to lead he hasn't been on for a while so this was his chance he was still powered up by the life orb and still had his white coverage movable i love this big guy bunno was able to one shot brock's first three pokemon his graveler and rhyhorn with an ice beam and brock's open star with a thunderbolt when it was time for the kabutops i had to switch the kabutops was definitely faster than bono and it would have one shot of bunno so i had to switch for magneto magneto tanked an aqua jet on the switch in but then took down the fossil pokemon with a thunderbolt in the next turn magneto took a lot of damage from the aqua jet bono would have definitely kicked a bucket there in any case brock sent out his onyx next and i switched back to bunno the onyx was short-lived as bano closed it out with an earth power we met up with blue on cinnabar but it seems he's not really interested in us just yet so it's time for blaine we're done with blaine now he's interested so we went on to challenge blue in this fight i got a bit careless and tried some stuff i shouldn't have the exeggutor was first so i sent battle battle opened with a u-turn and took it down in one hit i switched to magneto predicting his next pokemon would be a gyarados i couldn't be more wrong apparently using u-turn doesn't affect the ai's decision-making anyway i switched to boy as he tanked an earthquake hit on the switching once served later the rider was dead next was blue's much champ and i switched to battle right here as i switched in battle i glanced over to blue's bulbapedia page and realized that machamp had thunder punch and i knew i might lose one pokemon here baro got his health down to orange and i told her to use fly i glanced over at the bulbapedia page again and saw the machamp had stone edge and pretty much confirmed that i was going to lose battle see this is what happens when you don't really read the bubblepedia page in advance rest well battle you've been fantastic in any case i sent scorpo in and tanked two stone edges while i set up a sword stance he would then take down the machamp in one hit with an earthquake next was blue's gyarados which failed to intimidate scorpo i opted for a night slash here and i got a crit i got lucky definitely as i'm not really sure a sword's dance boosted knight slash would have taken out the gyarados in one hit blue's pidgeot came out next and scorpo used night slash again almost taking it out the pidgeot healed with a berry and switched my pokemon with a whirlwind out came bano hey i'm not complaining at all bunno took care of the big bird with a thunderbolt last was blue's arcanine who came out all big and intimidating he was taken care of in one hit with earth power easy day in the office for bunno baro joins her friends in heaven i think this is the most deaths in the nuzlocke so far in this channel here i contemplated challenging the elite four once more but the level gap is a bit too wide between the last elite force highest level pokemon and lance's pokemon i'll have to think about the level cap some more so i'll have to save it for the next run so i went on and started grinding for red i set the level cap to level 84 because his highest level pokemon is just a pikachu it wouldn't be fair the grinding here was totally 100 legitimate totally as a final substitute in addition to the team honcho evolved into a haunch crow so here's my final team for red we've got bono the nitto king boy the vaporeon magneto the magna zone honcho the haunch crow scorpio the glidescore and finally porco the type lotion as we ascended mount silver we exited the caves into a snowy peak where we encounter red we tapped his back and challenged him to a fight and this is where we find out that he's a mute to counter as pikachu i sent out scorpo i was reading a bit about what glyce scores are good for and decided to set up two sword stances scorpo tanked two iron tails and hails and finally dished out an earthquake that took out the pikachu in one go five to go surely scorpo can't one shot the rest right he sure can scorpo outspeed the lapras and one shot at it with an earthquake he also outspatted the blastoise and one-shotted it with an earthquake the snorlax as well and the venusaur the only thing skorpo couldn't take was the cold he passed away due to the ice pellets repeatedly hitting him in the face rest well buddy you did great so in the end we were left with red's charizard i sent out bunno not with the highest of expectations mind you i expected bunno to be able to whittle down a bit of the charizard's health and leave the rest to boy to finish the charizard hit with the flare blitz taking some of his health down as well bono hit back the charizard with a thunderbolt and it was so close to finishing it off the hale took down the health a tiny bit more as expected rhett went for a heal with this i told bono to go for a thunderbolt surely his last move of the game before he goes down or not as bono hits a critical hit red's last pokemon goes down as bono survives with 33 hp and we win the match red disappeared with a magic trick and the credits roll once more aside from losing battle i think all went well because the grinding was so long it took so much out of me i couldn't even grieve when battle went down as well as scorpo the grind made me numb having scorpo the glass score was definitely fun and if i would have grinded some more moves for it at the battle frontier i bet i could have used them a lot more definitely a great addition to the team magneto the magnet zone was also great it's just too bad that it's so hard to get him in a normal hard gold playthrough without the
