weather is beautiful here in Milner no matter where you're joining us from we hope you have good weather as well but regardless of how your weather is I like to say it's always sunshiny on the inside have um indoor playground diaper changes diaper changes all the things listen and your kids are going to learn about Jesus on their own level it's church for them this is not not just free child care they get a lesson they get to learn my kiddos learn stuff all the time they're always teaching me about what they learn so again this is 6 weeks old through the fifth grade regardless of what campus location you're at we have RS kids available for your kiddos so take advantage of that now you still have plenty of time to get them checked in and Amy today is one of my favorite kind of days that we have here at Rock Springs it's baptism Sunday across all our campuses today so if you are signed up to get baptized go ahead make your way on back to the Welcome Center whatever campus you're at let us know that you're here so we can get you checked in and maybe you've never participated in Believers baptism and you've been thinking about it well hey today is the Sunday let's get it done in fact we got everything you need here to get baptized even if you came unprepared we got the clothes we got hair dryers Amy we even got underwear we do so go on back to the Welcome Center get signed up for believers bapt baptism you're not going to regret it I promise you that and shifting gears a little bit Amy summer is in full swing which means we got all the things going on here at Rock Springs hey making campus this one is just for you we love our making campus folks coming up on June the 19th we're going to have our making family cookout it's going to start at 630 everything from lawn matter where you're located you can register your child regardless if they go to school here they're in public school but this is for K4 through 12y olds and they do all kinds of fun stuff during the week they have three trips to our Splash Pad here in Milner they also have two off-campus field trips a week they do all kinds of fun stuff so if you're looking for some child care or for some fun Sunday we're celebrating dad's Maddie it's Father's Day absolutely and you and I our kids have some wonderful dads that we get to celebrate do they do have some good Dads I will have to agree with you on that so listen they celebrated us for Mother's Day we have the opportunity to celebrate them we're going to be doing that again this is next Sunday June 16th we're going to be celebrating all of our dads they're going to get a free gift we're going to have some giveaways all kinds of fun stuff so make plans to be a part of our services next Sunday for Father's Day absolutely and hey not only is it Father's Day next Sunday but we are also dedicating babies so if you have a child that you would like to dedicate you can go ahead and sign up at rocks springs. info and we would love to dedicate your child at service next Sunday but hey Amy coming up It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year especially you know if you've been to Hobby Lobby lately you have seen Christmas is in full swing it is be celebrating Christmas and July here starting July 7th and we are partnering with Samaritans purse and Operation Christmas Child to celebrate another year of doing these shoe boxes for uh Operation Christmas Child you can pack a shoe box full of fun stuff it's a great ministry tool for all of the missionaries of Samaritan's Purse to spread the gospel so get your shoe boxes on July 7th with us here that's right very excited about that I love seeing the pictures and videos of how we're able to spread the gospel through this this is an easy way you can get your kids involved too I love being a part of this um every year but today's is entitled a sermon from Samson we're excited about it let's go ahead and get started [Music] [Music] well good morning Rock Springs Church so good to be in the house of God today we do welcome our online family as well so grateful to be here with you and invite you just to lift your voice and worship to him you are worthy Lord receive our worship was lost and he found me and I was sick and he healed me I was dead and he raised me up again yes he and I was B and he free me now my St and his victory I was desperate and he saved me from my sin thank you Lord isn't he good isn't he great isn't he faithful look at my life look what he's done isn't he a isn't he good isn't he great isn't he worthy oh he's worthy he's worthy isn't he [Music] Mighty God Jehovah Holy One Messiah all the glory to our [Music] R is it even is it even is it he fa look at my life look what he's done isn't he a isn't he good isn't he great isn't he worthy may be seated thank you so much for being here today to worship Jesus today is a very special Sunday because it's baptismal service I want you to know something folks already this year we've baptized 170 people already 170 [Applause] people now here's what's so amazing after today that number will be about 240 or 250 we're baptizing at all of our locations even at the end of the service we're baptizing up at the cross so it's just a tremendous tremendous what the Lord is doing how many would say Pastor Benny I have a special request I'd like you to pray for just slip your hand up hands up all over just stay seated and I'm going to pray for us Jesus we love you I saw hands you saw Hearts meet the needs of people's hearts God manifest yourself we need you Lord we need your presence we need you to come and work and we pray this prayer with a grateful heart God you've been just incredibly good to us just been incredibly good to us when I think about 170 people that have already given their lives to the Lord how today that number will be more like 250 how we praise you for what you're doing in Rock Springs Church you are worthy of all the glory all the honor and all the praise and we pray this prayer in jesus' name till you come amen folks I want us to stand I want you to do something I want you to participate every time somebody gets baptized every some every time somebody follows the Lord and walk God's commanded them to do they were on their way to hell now they're on their way to heaven they were on their way to [Applause] hell they were on their way to hell now selflessness they save the day ask for no reward and ride off into the sunset the Bible also tells the stories of Heroes but they aren't always Brave good or selfless in many ways there are people just like you and me missing the mark or dropping the ball what is it that an Abraham or a Sarah or a Moses have in common that we should be telling their stories even today what makes them Heroes Abraham believed God and became the father of many nations Sarah believed God and became a mother in her old age Moses believed God and became the deliverer of a people in bondage they're all connected by virtue of their great faith the Hallmark of a Biblical he good morning great to be in the Lord's house and I'm so thrilled that you're here no matter which campus you're in we're delighted to have you we'd like to remind you next Sunday is a special time it's Father's Day and yes that's right it's Father's Day and we want to celebrate fathers in a big big way here at Rock Springs we sure hope you come and can be here and be in the service with us as we as we honor fathers and we'll be dedicating children so you said pastor I've uh have a grandchild or child that needs to be dedicated I would encourage you to do that it's going to be a wonderful wonderful day folks let's stand to our feet we're standing uh greet about three people around you and tell them say my goodness you're losing weight [Music] now come back folks we hadn't had that much weight loss all right all right judges 13:5 says this for low Thou shalt conceive and bear a son and no razor shall come upon his head for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb he shall begin notice what it says he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines now look here's what I want you to understand God said look here before this child was born that God had a plan for the child you you've heard Pastor B say a million times they're accidental parents but no accidental children go God's got a plan for every child and before Samson was even born get this folks before Samson was even born God had a plan you see what look here Pastor B I didn't have the most wonderful parents perhaps you did but God still got a plan for your life there's something in life that only you could do and God made you and you're so special to God isn't that good news folks a that good news that you that you're so special to God that God's got a plan for our lives let let's pray Jesus I love you and I do praise you and God I pray you'll help us today as we talk about a sermon from Samson and for all you do we give you glory honor and praise for I pray this prayer in Jesus name till you come we pray amen you may be seated I remember when I was a boy we used to uh uh collect I've always been a collector I'll go through seasons and I'll collect things and then I'll end up just giving it all away but I remember as a boy I would collect comic books I I I I love comic books and I had some friends and they had comic books and there would be uh Spider-Man comic books and there would be Superman comic books and there would be Captain American comic books but no matter what comic book I got I was always willing to trade any of those glad to trade any of those because my favorite was a guy by the name of the Incredible Hulk that that that was my favorite I remember even watching Young The Incredible Hulk where Bill Bixby anybody can anybody remember that other than me yeah where Bill bsby would become the Incredible Hulk I I I enjoyed that and I remember when I first got saved I started reading about this guy Samson in the Bible and I started reading about how strong he was the Bible says that in judges 15-6 he took the Jawbone of an ass and killed a thousand men now that's a man's man amen to take the Jawbone of an ass I mean literally and killed a thousand men and then we we he he he goes to Gaza the Bible tells us and he picks up the city Gates I mean he literally takes the gates out of the post and he carries them up to the Mountaintop wow what a man and then one day he encountered a line and he just tore the line apart I mean he was he was much of a man and when I when I started reading that I thought he is an Incredible Hulk I thought you know he he he probably looked like the Incredible Hulk or or perhaps he looked like Arnold schwarzeneger or then I thought maybe he looked like Hulk Hogan or Andre the Giant I mean I remember the rasher Andre he he probably looked like one of those guys but I started processing Delila who he was intimate with said tell me what is your strength so apparently she couldn't see it it wasn't obvious and if you remember those Philistines they come to Delilah and they say what what's his strength we we see him but but we can't figure it out we we can't figure out what his strength is so I believe I was wrong he may have not looked like any of those guys he actually may have looked like this because you've got to understand something his strength was the Lord see if you study the Book of Judges seven times it talks about the spirit of the Lord and four times when it's address in the spirit of the lord it's talking about the spirit of the Lord Came Upon Samson it it would literally God was his strength now there was a couple in the Bible they were Barren they couldn't have a child and God came to them I thought this was so good God came to him and he said uh you're you're going to have a son this woman her name's not even mentioned but you're you're going to have a son and his name is going to be Samson the the the word Samson means sunshine I don't know that this happened but I I believe she probably rocked this little baby and said you are my sunshine my only sunshine I don't know but perhaps that happened but but she had this baby and she named him sunshine or Samson and God said you got to understand something he's going to be a Nazarite from his birth and there was three Criterion if you was going to be a Nazarite from birth first of all if you were a Nazarite that meant you could never touch the fruit of the Vine I mean literally you couldn't have grapes you couldn't have raisins you couldn't have Welches grape juice you couldn't drink wine you couldn't touch the fruit of Vine but there's a second thing if you was going to be a Nazarite you couldn't touch anything dead you couldn't touch a dead body and then the third thing if you was going to be a Nazarite you could never ever cut your hair now you got to understand something because of sin and Rebellion the children of Israel were in bondage to the Philistines according to judges 13:1 they were in the bondage of the Philistines and would be for 40 years but God said in verse five I'm going to send this boy Samson I'm going to send this boy Samson and he's going to deliver my people from from the Philistines now here's what I don't have a long message today you say Pastor what does that mean probably absolutely nothing but listen I research Samson's life from Judges chapter 13 to Judges chapter 16 you say I want to read about sunshine well you read chapter 13 through chapter 16 of judges and you read you read about sunshine or you read about Samson's life and I read about it and here's what I've always tried to do folks this is what I've always tried to do in my life I've always tried to find people who were successful and learn from them I I I I've always tried to do that this is what I try to do I try to find people that are successful whether it's successful in marriage successful in Ministry whatever they're successful in remember it's wise to learn from experience but it's wiser to learn from the experience of others and not near as painful and what I try to do I try to find those people people listen to me closely and then get my pale under their whale that's what you do that's the secret you don't have to reinvent you don't have to reinvent everything just get your pale under their whale and you just learn from them look here somebody that's somebody's been married I I I yesterday I renewed wedding vows for a couple that's been married 50 years 50 years now that's the kind of people listen if you're studying marriage you don't want to get with somebody that's been married so many times they've got rice markings on their face amen no you want to get with some people who've got it right amen so so what I've tried to do and what I want us to do today I want us to take this guy Samson as fast as I can and I want us to learn from this guy Hulk Hogan I want us to learn from the incredible hul I want us to learn perhaps from from from Samson today or Barney 5 whoever you think whatever but I want us to learn from him and there's three simple things that I believe that are we can learn today they're just high points of his life number one we need to learn from our mistakes soon we need to learn from our mistakes soon you said well Pastor Benny when I have them no no no no you're going to have them you're going to have them we're everybody there's so much bad in the best of us and there's so much good in the worst of us it hardly behooves any of us to talk about the rest of us we're we're we're we're going to have the mistakes sir I know you think you don't have any but you do amen I I I I know you think you don't you I know you never say you're sorry but you you make mistakes too we we literally all mess up I I used to counsel with people and people would be com in from a maybe a pre-marriage counseling and I would always say to this have you been in a previous relationship and many times they would say yes I have maybe maybe I've had a previous marriage and my next question would always be the same what did you learn from your past relationship and if they couldn't give me an answer real quick I knew they were going to have problems in the relationship that they were in here's what I'm saying we got to learn from our mistakes soon somebody said sometimes you win sometimes you lose no sometimes you win sometimes you learn sometimes you wi sometimes you learn somebody said pastor experience is the best teacher no that's not a good statement evaluated experience is the best teacher it's what you do with it now now learn from a mistake soon I am convinced I studied his life I studied Samson's life and I'll tell you what he didn't do he didn't learn from his mistakes fast he didn't and I'm going to show you in the scripture first of all folks let me tell you what he didn't do he didn't harness the heat he didn't harness the heat boy he needed an anger management class fast I mean 30 men one time figured out his riddle and and literally he killed the 30 men he got angry at some guys one time and he said I'll get even with them and he took 300 foxes he tied their tails together and that's an experience he took 300 foxes he tied their tails together put a torch on the end of the Tails turned loose 300 foxes in a barley feel and literally burn up the people's feels that he was angry at I I mean he had an anger issue he took the job on him an ass as I said and literally he killed a thousand men I mean literally he didn't deal with his anger issue folks let me tell you something that anger issue will get us in trouble that anger in issue will destroy you you see Pastor is it this serious let me tell you how serious it is Sir let me tell you how serious it is ma'am do you believe the Bible says in Proverbs 22:25 make no friendship with an angry man and with a furious man thou shall not go lest thou learn his ways and get a snare to thy Soul he said listen you be careful about developing a friendship with a guy who can't destroy who who can't control his temper when I was growing up I used to lose my temper and my mother always helped me find it folks look in your relationships I I I go to ball games sometimes and I'll see people and I'm thinking you're destroying your testimony over a ball game you're destroying your testimony over something two years from now or one year from now or six months from now won't make any any difference I know relationships between husbands and wives that saying things to each other oh well God forgive me I'm sorry yes but it still penetrated the mind I'll tell you I studied I studied Samson's life and he didn't harness the heat you said pastor I can't do it yes you can I I can you don't understand it's just the way I am so oh she made me so angry nobody can make you angry nobody can make you angry it's what you're telling yourself that's making you angry nobody can make you angry it's what you tell yourself about the situation that's making you you say oh I can't control it oh yes you can I can prove it Pastor Benny you and your wife ever fuss no no no but we've had some intensive Fellowship remember when we used to have house phones I go back so old I can remember when we had party lines is somebody on the line maybe you're having some intensive fellowship if you've been there raise your hand the rest of them are whole Liars boy you're going at it you're just going out yeah you going about that time the phone rings hello you can control it but I'll tell you what Samson did he he he he he he didn't harness the heat uh let let me tell you the second thing he didn't do he was a he-man with a she problem see he was physically strong but he was morally weak I'm going tell you about this guy that God had a great plan for his life but if you read judges 16 and one get this he goes out and he goes with a harlot what wait the one that God's going to use the one that God's going to use to deliver Israel from the hands of Philistines he's he's with a prostitute I I didn't say that the Bible did and and look he he didn't stop there he goes after her and he gets with dalala I mean this cat's moving from Woman to Woman to Woman I mean he was a he man but he had a sheep problem I went back and I studied Where it All Began in judges 14 And1 The Bible says he went down to Timnath well he did go down and he saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines now now look here he goes down the Bible says he he he goes four miles from home to Timnath but I believe he's in the wrong place you said preacher why do you say that well look what verse five says then went Samson down and his father and his mother wait to Timnath and came to The Vineyards he's a Nazarite he can't eat grapes he can't associate with wine grape juice what's he doing in the vineyard this is what I know folks he was in the wrong place I'm not deep but you can't do the wrong thing with the wrong person at the wrong WR time if you're not in the wrong place and he just got in the wrong place a guy goes to the doctor and the doctor says your your arms broken in two places the guy says doc what do you recommend he said stay out of those places I I'm just saying you're not going to mess up folks if you're not in the wrong place if you look at 2 Samuel 11:1 what got David in trouble it's when the Kings went forth to battle he tear it in Jerusalem he should have been on the battlefield but he teared in Jerusalem folks we get in trouble when we ought to be reading our Bible but we're tearing in Jerusalem we get in trouble when we ought to be in the Lord's house but we're tearing in Jerusalem we get in trouble when we ought to be with the right people but we're tearing in Jerusalem what's so amazing he goes down to Timnath and he says get her from me she she she's a Philistine and get this folks young people listen to me his mom and daddy says to him mom and daddy say Samson you're an Israelite we we we worship Yahweh why do you want a Philistine girl they worship deeon the fish God no no look here folks God never separated people come up real close on the basis of race God never separated relationships on the basis of race so I don't like what you're saying well you get over it look here no race is superior to any other race no race is superior to any other race and and and and look I want to go on record to say this folks look here at Rock Springs Church been the pastor here 35 years 35 years I want you to know something everybody is welcome everybody is welcome God God sees One race God just sees the the the human race he he never separated he never said because of race you you you can't have relationship he never separated people relationally because of race now what he did do he separated them because of Faith he said why why are you an Israelite his mom and daddy said why would you want to be going with a pagan girl when you're a Believer and I will hasten to say if you're a Christian you shouldn't be dating an unbeliever the Bible never teaches missionary dating now if if they don't love Jesus and are living for well God's brought her in my life no God didn't bring her in your life the lust of the flesh may have but God didn't if you're a Christian she'll be a now you I don't have time goodness gracious I get off on these limbs but you say well Pastor Benny I'm married to somebody who's not a Believer what's the plan of God if the plan of God is for you to stay with them and try to reach them for Christ now now let me explain oh goodness I I don't have enough time to explain all that all I'm trying to say he didn't listen to Mom and Dad and he got in trouble po Point number one it's it's so important I want you to see it learn from a mistakes soon Point number two choose who you associate with slowly choose who you associate with slowly now look God had a plan for his life but he got with the wrong Associates I believe this God wants us to be friendly with everybody God wants us to be friendly with everybody I I walk into Walmart and the guy says welcome to Walmart and I always respond by saying it's so good to be here and my wife says you're not supposed to say anything but I think we ought to be friendly with everybody now get this we ought to be friendly with everybody but everybody's not meant to be your friend we ought to be friendly with everybody but everybody's not meant to be your friend because Proverbs 13 and 20 says this he that walketh with wise shall be wise but wait but a companion of fools shall be destroyed and here's what I know here's what I know you are the average of The Five People You spend the most time with you are the average you say well I don't really like well you might want to look around because what you're going to be you're going to be the average of the five people that you spend the most time with Pastor what are you saying learn from your mistakes soon Pastor what are you saying I'm I'm saying choose who you associate with slowly Pastor what are you saying remember God is a god of mercy and restoration forever God does not give up on people God is a god of mercy and restoration forever you said Way Pastor V this guy did all this killing this guy was going with all these women and you're telling me that God is a god of restoration and forgiveness no matter what ladies and gentlemen that's what I'm telling you because that's what God's word teaches now get this he goes from the Harlot down to the Lila's house got this long hair is it was it Fabio Fabio maybe in Tennessee it was Fabio I don't know but he goes down there and he's got all this long hair and Delila says Sunshine what's what's the secret got his scissors he cuts that hair off and then as he's waking up she says to him Sunshine the Philistines are coming and he jumps up and he you remember how Bill bsby used to shake and then he became the incredible [Music] Hook he did that but he was just as a normal man because always remember this folks our strength our power our ability is in the lord it's it's not us look here look you see boy they sing good yes and God gave the gift whatever they preach good and yes and God gave the gift whatever you do good God's the one that gave the gift it's the lord it's not you and then they took Sam and they gorged out his eyes get this folks they gorged out his eyes and put him in a prison grinding they was working him like an animal see the Philistines worshiped this God named deeon deeon had the head of a man but he had the body of a fish and and that was the that was the Paramount God o of the Philistines uh they they believed that that his father was baale and so if you study judges 16: 23 and 24 they said Deon ha delivered us praise be unto Deon praise be unto Deon and they go to this massive Temple and they said we're going to have a praise service we're going to praise Deon because he's delivered Samson into our hands it must have been a massive Temple because there was 300 people on the roof 3,000 people excuse me on the roof it must have been a massive Temple and they were praising Deone because he delivered old Samson but here's what they didn't know and here's what I want you to know no matter what you've done you can repent no matter what you've done you can repent and you can ask God to forgive you and I've got good news he will I've got good news he will I've got good news he will and get this he repented preacher how do you know well it's in the Bible how be it the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven all I want to say you say I've messed up preacher but you can begin again and they said let's make a mockery of Samson bring him to the temple on this day we're going to make a mockery of him how Deon had defeated him we're going to laugh at what God has our God has done and they brought him and this is what happened and Samson called unto the Lord and said oh Lord God remember me I pray thee and strengthen me I pray only this once oh God that I may once Avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes and Samson get this folks he took hold of those two pillars in that Temple upon which the house stood and on which it was born up of the one with his right hand and the other with his left and Samson said let me die with the Philistines and he bowed himself with all of his might and the house fell upon the Lords and upon all the people that were therein so the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life you said preacher what are you saying I'm saying judges 13:5 you're going to begin to deliver Israel out of the hands of the Philistines here here's what I know you see preacher I've messed up perhaps we all have but God is a god of mercy and restoration forever and ever and ever when I read Hebrews chap 11 I wasn't shock that Abraham was there I wasn't shock that Isaac was there I wasn't shock that Sarah was there I wasn't shocked that all those great matriarchs and Patriarchs were there [Music] but there was somebody else there and his name was Samson because God didn't remember his failure God remembered his faith God didn't remember his failure but God remembered his faith and I just want you to know today God doesn't remember our failures God remembers our faith and no matter what's happened in your is it folks I don't know about you but maybe it's just me maybe I'm but I am so glad that God is a god of restoration God is a god of forgiveness God is a God that says you can't begin again God is a God that says though we cannot go back and make a brand new start we can begin right now and make a brand new end let's stand our feet can we just give God praise for a moment can we just give God praise raise for a moment with every head bowed and every eye closed no one looking Pastor I'm here today and I don't know that my heart's right with Christ I
