Despite being 248 Chapters and 2 seasons in
to Jujutsu kaisen, Yuji Itadori still does NOT have a cursed technique. And this creates
a HUGE problem. He’s just not able to keep up with the other characters that are relevant
right now. So, let’s fix that. Today we’ll be going over 7 cursed techniques that Yuji
could have or could at least make use of. Starting with Cursed Item Consumption.
There are 3 techniques that have been insinuated to be in Yuji’s position. The first
is Cursed Item Consumption. This ability would basically allow Yuji to gain the effects of
any cursed items he consumes. It stems from very early into season 1 after Yuji has eaten a
couple fo Sukuna’s fingers and Gojo states that over time Sukuna’s technique would engrave into
Yujis body. While that turned out to be false, Sukuna could still use his technique in Yuji’s
body with no issue, and in the manga Yuji says he will, and I quote “I’d eat anything to kill
that creep” This line alone implies that he might be able to gain the effects of Cursed items
that he consumes. Cursed Item Consumption would be a really unique technique, especially if it
means Yuji can consume cursed tools an addition to cursed objections. Giving Yuji the effect of
powerful jujutsu artifacts like the prison realm, the rest of the deaths paintings, or even
the Inverted spear of heaven could instantly give Yuji a huge new roll in the story. For
instance if he has consumed the prison realm, he could potentially contain Sukuna to his
body once again depending on if he can meet the condition of holding Sukuna still for 1
minute. If he consumes the deaths paintings he could gain up to 6 blood related abilities and
maybe even the poison aspect that they all have. If he consumes the inverted spear of heaven he
could gain its cursed technique stoppage effect- which means any cursed technique that comes in
constant with him would do little to no damage, meaning fighting with him would come down to
cursed energy itself and physical strength, which Yuji would obviously excel in. The
possibilities are endless but I think the most likely one is him consuming the other
deaths paintings. This is because they are a cursed object that Yuji has easy access too as
they are all within the storage room at Jujutsu Tech Tokyo. It would also make sense since we
know Deaths paintings need a host to manifest their abilities and this consumption mightve
actually been hinted a long time ago. As there is official art when we see Yuji Choso
Eso and Kechizu on a couch and Yuji has 6 bracelets on his arms and legs, one for each of
the remaining deaths paintings. As of right now, I think Cursed Item Consumption is the most
likely technique for Yuji to have. He did have those weird glove fin things on in some of the
promotoional material, and I think they could be an application of one of the deaths paintings.
There’s also Yuki’s book on souls and if that was a cursed object thanks to Yuki pouring
her cursed energy into it, then it could be the reason he developed a different soul based
ability which we’ll be talking about in a bit. But first we have to talk about another super
heavily insinuated ability; Blood Manipulation. That’s one of the few techniques that already has
2 users, might become the only technique with 3 users. But, the main evidence is kind of loose.
It has two pieces of evidence; the first is Yuji thanking Kamo for teaching him some stuff because
Choso is a terrible teacher. We don’t know exactly what “that stuff” is, but like, what do Choso and
Kamo have in common besides blood manipulation. The second was this shot fo piercing blood landed
on Sukuna. Some people think this was done by Yuji not Choso because Choso did one shot by Sukuna
like 1 chapter prior. It’s not a ton of evidence but I think its substantive enough to talk about.
But would blood manipulation be a good technique for Yuji? Well yeah probably. The first thing
that comes to mind is flowing red scale which can further boost Yuji’s physical stats like his
offensive strength and speed. As if Yuji wasn’t already strong enough right? This is probably
the best blood manipulation application for him, as it lets him use his technique extend his
advantages and not lose any blood from using his technique. But it’s not the only technique
he would be able to make use of. Piercing blood would be an excellent add to his arsenal as it
gives him ranged capabilities as well, and he could even learn Supernova since it is the same
application and potentially other applications we have not seen yet. This is what makes blood
manipulation good; it seems there is no limitation to what the user does with their blood as long as
they don’t run out of blood. This is obviously the biggest drawback of Blood Manipulation, as dying
of blood lose is kind of counter intuitive. But it’s possible Yuji wouldn’t have to worry
about this too much as he does know reverse cursed technique which should be able to restore
blood depending on how competent he is with it. Now lets talk about the 3rd potential ability that
has been insinuated by the manga; Soul Swapping or body swapping. This one comes from a bizarre two
panel interaction between Yuji and Kusakabe where it appears Kusakabe speaks to Yuji from Yuji while
Yuji is in Kusakabes body. This hint was also dropped in a huge set up chapter which gives it
a bit more weight than the other 2 we already talked about. Soul swapping or body swapping would
be interesting be an interesting technique but if I’m being honest, I have trouble seeing its
applications. It would definitely be an ability that serves the plot rather than one that is
good for combat, as it is probably the only way to rescue Megumi if Megumi is still alive
inside Sukuna. While we don’t know exactly how this technique would work, I think it would likely
requires physical contact to manifest a soul swap. This is because physical fighting is what Yuji is
all about, and a technique that swaps bodys just seems like something that require touching bodies.
Not in a weird way, but we don’t know exactly what kind of hit it would take. Personally, I think
the hit required for this technique to activate has already been landed. This hit Yuji landed
on Sukuna a few chapters seems like some sort of ability activation as it did look a bit different
than his usually hits and Sukuna even noticed it was different. But theres not much evidence for
that. As i mentioned earlier, the main use for this technique seems like a way to save Megumi’s
soul but that’s not the only potential use for it. Depending on how it works, Yuji could swap
souls with Sukuna, putting Sukuna in his body and preventing the ancient sorcerer from activating
his cursed technique. It might also be possible for Yuji to swap places with the soul of the
merger cursed spirit since cursed spirits do have souls as was confirmed by Mahito. Soul Swapping
could possibly also allow Yuji to use the technique of the person he swaps souls with
since a persons technique is engraved primarily in their body and mind. This is be corroborated by
Kenjaku who can use the techniques of the people he inhabits and Sukuna who made use of Megumis
technique while he inhabited the students body. However, in these cases we’re talking about Sukuna
who had plenty of time to watch Megumi’s technique and is Sukuna and Kenjaku who has 1000 years of
jujutsu experience, and a year to learn curse manipulation before we ever sawhim use it, So Yuji
probably wouldn’t be able to use another sorcerers technique immediately on switch. If Yuji has this
technique it is likely just for plot purposes not for combat which kinda sucks. I’m pretty sure
we all wanted Yuji to have an ability that lets him rival or potentially even beat Sukuna,
and this technique probably doesn’t do that. Now we’re moving into the original abilities
that I think make sense for Yuji to have, starting with a Domain based ability; Boxer’s
Fury. Boxers fury would be a non lethal domain that Yuji can draw in a very short time similar to
Hakari. In this domain both Yuji and the opponent get transported into a boxing ring where there
is no cursed energy. This boxing match follows official boxing rules set by the Association
of Boxing Commissions, which means killing the opponent is not allowed while the domain is
active. The two in the ring fight for a bonus once the domain ends but this bonus is decided by Yuji.
It has to be something both of them agree on to an extent in order to make the stakes even but Yuji
decides the details. For example if they decide that the winner gains additional cursed energy,
Yuji can decide how much. If they bet that the loser loses their cursed technique, Yuji decides
for how long. Some other stakes could be the winner gains automatic reverse cursed technique or
the loser maintains their physical injuries when the domain closes. If this option isn’t chosen
both Yuji and his opponent are healed to their condition prior to the domain opening once the
domain concludes. Pretty much anything related to Jujutsu can be used as a wager. This domain would
give Yuji a huge advantage because of his innate physical prowess. Being so naturally physically
gifted would allow him to win against like 99% of opponents, unless his opponent just happens to
be Mike Tyson or Muhammed Ali or something. This is a domain that i think a lot of people want
to happen but in a lethal variation. The reason I chose to go the non lethal route is because I
think they are more interesting than just standard lethal domains and I think it kind of fits Yuji.
He has always felt bad about killing people and has avoided it whenever he can, so I think forcing
him into a lethal domain would be a bit cruel. I also thought about giving him a decathlon
based domain, because Yuji isn’t actually a boxer he just has amazing physical stats
but I couldn’t really figure out how to get something like that into a domain, but I’d love
to here your ideas in the comments down below! It’s called Sparks of Heaven. This ability would
allow Yuji to hit black flashes much easier by giving him hyper precision of his cursed energy
when it comes to timing specifically. Normally landing a blackflash requires applying cursed
energy to a hit within 1 trillionth of a second, but with Yuji it would feel more like a millionth
of a second. This is still really precise but it is about 10,000 times less percise than
anormal black flash, if my math is correct. It might not be, I got a C in 8th grade algebra.
Regardless, making the space to land a black flash larger makes it easier to land. And that’s not
considering the zone which makes it even easier to land them, which would compound with this ability
allowing Yuji to hit incredibly hard for someone without a fairly mid cursed technique. Or at
least mid on the surface, because this technique actually has a second effect. If a black flash
occurs when cursed energy is applied to a hit at the last second, what happens when positive
energy is applied at the last second? Well, that is the cursed technique reversal of
this technique. By hitting the opponent with positive energy, Yuji creates a white
flash where the positive energy flashes white. When this positive energy makes contact with
cursed energy or a cursed technique in general it will automatically neutralize that cursed energy
on impact. This neutrilzation will last for 1 full second while the white flash ends. During that
time the perons struck is unable to use their cursed technique but there are no limitations
to RCT or cursed technique reversals because positive energy cannot cancel positive energy.
Additionally, if Yuji’s opponent uses RCT as a white flash hits it will neglect the neutrailzing
effects. While I don’t think this technique would let Yuji stand up to the likes of Sukuna, I
do think this ability will allow yuji to fight much stronger opponents. There are a ton of strong
sorcerers that cannot use Reverse Curse Technique, or are not super tuned in to the workings
of cursed energy. It also fits his character considering how much he relied on black flashes
early into the series, and considering how his development of RCT is a pretty big deal. Of
the cursed techniques I completely made up, I think this one is my favrote but we do still
have two more to talk about after you subscribe … So if you enjoy this kind of content be sure to subscribe and lets talk
about the penultimate ability; Helpful Hero is one of the simpler abilities
we have tody. It basically gives everyone Yuji fights with a boost to their cursed energy output
and total pool. It’s similar to Uthimes technique but instead of being used as a dance, this
ability only activates when Yuji is in combat. In addition to giving his colleagues a power
up, the ability also increases theiy synergy, allowing Yuji to fight easily with just about
anyone. The reason I think this would be a good technique for Yuji is because almost every
fight he has excelled in has been a 2v1 or some sort of team battle. In fact even now in the
manga, he was sent out at the same time as the rest of the Jujutsu High squad. Now obviously
this was to activate the executioners sword, and not because this is the technique Yuji
secretly has, but I this kind of support ability would work really well for Yuji and
would explain how he has no issue fighting along side people he barely knows like Todo
in the Kyoto school showdown, Ino in Shibuya, or Maki in the manga. I think a technique
like this really makes sense for Yuji from a character perspective as well and I’ll touch
on why once we’re done talking about techniques. This ability essentially attempts to explain
just why Yuji is so durable. Determination of the soul would be a passive cursed technique
similar to infiinity. The effect is simple; the more determination Yuji has the more cursed
energy he generates, but this cursed energy goes directly to reinforcing his defenses. This
means the more he wants to live and fight the more hits he can take and the more he wants
to give up the less hits he would take. If this was his technique it would explain why he
took such a huge beating from Mahito after Nobara and nanami died as that was pretty
much Yuji’s low point mentally, and why he took the beating from Sukuna with so little
issue because he was determined to get revenge and save Megumi. Having a passive technique like
this could also explain why it seems like he has no cursed technique, as its probably much
harder to detect a passive ability like this.
