I feel like this year hasn't been exciting as the prior years, but what can we do? The big boys are probably going to be released next year since 2020 is a nice, round number.

69th

Nice.

I'm not really a car guy, but I'm working this event and figured I should share this, since I'm sure many are interested, but unable to attend.

the honorary judges making a big effort from coming from all over the world and we are just so grateful to have them here at the Concours d'Elegance now let's jump right into a Pebble Beach tradition the parade of elegance these cars represent the essence of this competition the judges look at a car's authenticity that it has stayed true to its original creation and it's mechanical capability making sure everything works as it's supposed to and then there is that X Factor the quality judges just know when they see it the factor of elegance now let's welcome back Nick Waller to the mic and share his insight and knowledge as we enjoy these magnificent cars you [Music] you [Music] well while we're waiting for the first car of the parade to start let me give you a brief overview of what we're going to see it's most exciting collection of cars I think I can remember seeing here for many years the first group of cars that you'll see they'll come over one by one they're Thomas flyers Thomas was a great mark and a great American mark large horsepower wonderful touring cars and we're gonna welcome five of these terrific cars that were parked on the lawn I hope you enjoy them after the Thomas's we're gonna have three French race cars the Bala's now these cars are fascinating beautifully engineered very successful in their day and after the French cars we're going to go and have a little celebration of Bentley as we know Bentley are celebrating their centenary this year and we have assembled probably the finest collection of Bentley's I think that have ever been together in one place in the last hundred years and we're going to see some blowers we're gonna see some racecars we're going to see the speed six old number one number two and number three and it's gonna be a fascinating parade of elegance and I'm really looking forward to it we're just waiting I hope we'll paid be patient we're just waiting for the first car to be cranked these cars are temperamental as we know well here we go ladies and down on the first car to cross the ramp in 2019 what a treat look at the brass shining in this beautiful sunlight could not be better this is the 1907 Thomas flyer Teeter about it's owned by Evert and Josie lawmen and it's come all the way from the Netherlands I think it lives here some of the time ever thank you so much for bringing the car and thank you for sharing it with us and a second Thomas to cross the line across the ramp now this is the 1907 Thomas flyer the four 60s the seven passenger cheering let's count them one two three four five I think is room for two more it's owned by John Berta Lodi and Aldo bonnet Berta Lodi in Santa Clara California and it's a wonderful 60 horsepower driven there I think by car in fact by a wonderful the Sun glinting off well I'm not going to say but Collin thanks so much for bringing the car treat to see now I think you'd get a little bit more polishing this is the 1909 this next cop Thomas across the rap some Thomas flyer K 670 fly about this is owned by John and Heather Mozart up the road in Palo Alto and this is the only original 1909 Thomas fly about in existence so it's a real treat to see it thomas built his first six cylinder engine to keep compete with other american manufacturers such as pierce-arrow and rolls-royce who were exporting many of their cars to america at the time and these were the height of collectability fabulous to see thank you so much this is another 1909 Thomas flyer this is a five passenger touring owned by the Keller family in Petaluma California now that is a treat isn't that beautiful read set off with the brass do you know this sums up the antique brass era motorcar fabulous terekhov thank you to the Keller family well goodness gracious mate last but by no means least this is one of the most famous cars in the whole wide world this is the Thomas flyer and this is the car that made Thomas famous it's the model 35 New York to Paris race car owned by the National Automobile Museum of the HERA Collection in Reno Nevada wonderful wonderful car this one the New York to Paris automobile race in 1908 which Kate went from New York to Paris the long way around 22,000 miles and wouldn't that be a treat to drive 22,000 miles in that I'm not quite sure I'd be up as I said before this is the first of the three fellows and we're going to assemble all three together so that you can take them in the sights and the sounds of French race cars from the end of the 1919 so it's a hundred years old today these old cars we need a bit of patience with and here we go the second one and this is the 1920 ballo the three leader set down there in the middle [Music] third time lucky with our own George winGuard at the wheel he's not used to being in third place but we'll let him off this time three bellows that have not been together for many many years fabulous French race guys so number the first car in the front the pale blue car is the 1919 fallow Indianapolis car it's owned by miles Collier in Naples Florida had the middle car is owned by George winGuard and right at the back there on the right his George's 2-liter race car all these cars were all of the owners for bringing these wonderfully wonderfully exciting Bentley's that made Bentley's name here we have another trio of racing Bentley's the first to pull up we go not necessarily in numerical order but the first car to pull up funny enough his old number two and in the middle old number three and the gray car on the right he's old number one they're known as old number one two and three because they were called this by the mechanics who had made friends with the drivers they made friends with the cars all of these speed sixes have erased at Lamar and at Brooklands they've won at Lamar they've won at Brooklands the two-seater gray car is actually won them all twice this is a historic moment and something that we really should savor and we are eternally grateful to the owners to bring them here today fabulous cars and a fabulous way to celebrate Bentley's centenary thank you so much gentlemen ladies for driving up and sharing your cars with us all thank you so much
