6 NBA Stars Who were BETRAYED by their NBA Franchise

6mb stars who were betrayed and done dirty by their NBA franchise so MBA players especially in today's era has gotten this stigma of being you know unloyal snakes and you know unworthy and all those other great names and you know it all started with LeBron James when he left Cleveland to join Miami in 2010 and you know there was KD when he joined the Warriors and most recently when DeMarcus Cousins also joined the Golden State Warriors so you know these past four years NBA players has gotten this stigma of not being loyal to their NBA franchise and you know more players especially these days have gotten more control over their careers and where they want to play in it's not that there haven't been a little players in the past before it's just that we're seeing it more often in today's NBA but what that being said NBA franchises can be just as unloyal and even worse than some of these players decisions to leave their team in and I feel like this is actually hurting the NBA but you know that's for a whole nother video but what that being said and as you already heard today I'm talking about six NBA stars who were betrayed and done dirty by their NBA franchise and I know that the NBA is the business but it doesn't take away from the fact that these moves are back stepping moves but let's get right into it [Music] so coming in at number one is Isaiah Thomas so in the two seasons Isaiah Thomas spent with the Boston Celtics he actually accomplished a lot was a two-time all-star and during the 2016-2017 NBA season he was putting up averages of a most 30 points per game three rebounds and six assists and was able to lead the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals that same year in their best season host the big 3 era of you know Paul Pierce kg and Ray Allen and I said Thomas was loved by Boston Celtics fans everywhere and him being the sixtieth pick and you know as short as he is you know kind of added a nice background story to it he was underdog in the city of Boston loved him but then the playoffs that year I still at Thomas would end up suffering a huge tragedy with the passing of his sister and that wasn't only he would also end up suffering a hip injury and also lost his two front teeth during a game against the Washington Wizards but Isiah Thomas was loved by a lot of Celtics fans and he also loved the city of Boston so much that he played through it all he played through the passing of a loved one and played with the hip injury that he would end up making worse he gave the Celtics everything that he had and you know after having a historic season and giving it everything that he had in the playoffs where they would end up losing to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers he was expecting a max contract you know he just came off a historic season was loved by the city of Boston you know everything was going right for I said Thomas but during that year's offseason after losing to the lawyers in the finals the Cavs were going through a lot of dysfunction and Kyrie would end up asking to be traded and I don't know where the Celtics treated Isiah Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving you know this move came as a huge surprise and no one really expected this especially after the season Isiah Thomas just had fazilet Thomas was betrayed by the Boston Celtics until this day he is only getting paid two million dollars but you know it's crazy how fast people seem to forget you know what he did in Boston but hopefully he is able to bounce back [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] cousins for the win [Applause] number two DeMarcus Cousins now now DeMarcus Cousins spent his first seven seasons in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings and was putting up some crazy numbers of 21 points per game 11 rebounds and 3 assists and every year he tried his best to lead the Sacramento Kings to the playoffs but you know the Kings had learned the worst front office's in the NBA and was not able to get any talent around him whatsoever and you know unlike any other players or star in today's NBA DeMarcus Cousins did not request for a trade and actually he loved the city in the organization of Sacramento and the fans loved them back also that you know he did not want to leave he really loved the city of Sacramento and during the 2016 2017 NBA season the Sacramento Kings told him that they were going to give DeMarcus Cousins a max contract and that they were not going to trade him away but right in the middle of the all-star game that year you know in the middle of nowhere they treated DeMarcus Cousins and O'Meara Caspi to the New Orleans pelicans for buddy hield who they thought was gonna be the next Steph Curry and Tyreke Evans in links to Galloway in the first and second round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft so after everything he did for the city in organization of Sacramento he was literally backstabbed after he was told that he was not going to get traded this man literally broke down and cried in front of a camera after finding out that he was traded in the organization of Sacramento did nothing to make him want to stay he genuinely loved the city and organization of Sacramento until this day things have only gotten worse for DeMarcus Cousins he suffered an Achilles injury and is now only getting paid two million dollars you know after being backstabbed the way that he was after being told that he was not going to be traded I don't want to hear anybody talk about NBA players being unloyal and play the roads at the top of a super gross when the winner [Applause] number three there it grows now Derrick Rose will always have a deep connection especially with Chicago Bulls fans you know he brought the organization a lot of success post the Michael Jordan era this man grew up in Chicago and truly loved the city in the organization of the Chicago Bulls and him being a hometown kid a lot of people of Chicago viewed him as a hero he won in MVP with the Bulls was Rookie of the Year and was a three-time all-star and understand he was doing all this at a very young age and even led them to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2011 he went through a lot of ups and downs but he never gave up he truly loved the fans in the organization in the city of Chicago he wanted to be his home towns hero you know even through all the injuries that he suffered he never gave up and always worked hard to get back and after he was treated to the Knicks he felt betrayed Chicago felt betrayed in the fans also felt betrayed and sometimes it's just bigger than basketball and it's sad what the business side of things can do in the NBA [Applause] number four DeMar DeRozan so so coming in at number four most recently is demar derozan now the monitor illusion really helped transform the organization of the Toronto Raptors from a laughingstock to one of the top teams in the NBA he been with him through all the ups and the downs and you can't really think about the Toronto Raptors without thinking about the Martirosyan and you could even make a case that he is the greatest Toronto Raptor of all time next to Vince Carter you know we're talking about someone else putting up averages of 20 points a game for rebounding through assists was the four-time all-star in a two-time All NBA and helped lead the Raptors to the most successful seasons they have had in franchise history and in the summer of 2016 when damar was a free agent he had the option to leave Toronto and go back to his hometown which was in LA and for a lot of people that don't understand yeah Toronto is a great city but for a guy like DeMar DeRozan who grew up in LA and in the United States you gotta adjust to a new culture whether in lifestyle in the city of Toronto and for a lot of players they would have probably left that situation but not only did the Martin Rosen stay the man took a 16 million dollar pay cut he truly loved the organization city and fans of Toronto and that's not easy to find but yeah the regular season hasn't really transformed into playoff success but this year after getting swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers the Toronto Raptors told the martyr Rosen that they were not going to trade him away but once again the Toronto Raptors traded the martyr Rosen for Kawhi Leonard a player who had a year left on his contract and could easily just walk away next season so after taking the pay cut and showing love for the city and organization of Toronto and everything that he did for the Toronto Raptors it's sad that he ended up getting betrayed by the Toronto Raptors and not a lot of fans were happy about this move in particular you want Blake to pass the ball and make a strong move towards a basket where check your seatbelts here we go Griffin at distance for three and the wizard Bay Blake Griffin knocks down a three foot slippers escape rows number five Blake Griffin so after the Clippers traded away Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets a lot of people thought moving forward that Blake Griffin would have been their main piece to rebuild around moving forward I mean they did offer him a five-year 171 million dollar contract so a lot of people thought that he would have been their main piece to build around moving forward and what that being said they also told him that he was going to be a clipper for life so Blake Griffin put a lot of trust in the Clippers organization just to get screwed over because during this past season they would end up trading Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons for Avery Bradley and Tobias Harris but if you were gonna end up trading him away why even offer him a max contract also they did say that they were not going to trade him this was just another dirty move done by the Los Angeles Clippers [Applause] number six Jimmy Butler so after trading away Derrick Rose the Bulls tried to stay competitive by acquiring guys like D Wade and rajon rondo but during the 2016-2017 NBA season they would soon find out that that was not going to work out so just like Blake Griffin they told Jamie Butler he was going to beat the face of the organization moving forward and during his time with the Bulls Jimmy Butler developed a strong love for the city fans in the organization of the Chicago Bulls and after being told it was gonna be the face of the franchise they ended up trading him to the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2017 NBA Draft nor here nor the fans of Chicago was happy about this move whatsoever especially how it played out the man was back stabbed and I understand that the
