Hello everyone! This is Roma and My Personal Journal. Half a year ago I started building my first cabin in the woods. Before that, it was just a dugout I had no idea if I would make it or not and had a lot of doubts, but I decided to give it a try This cabin will not be the main cabin, but a guest cabin. I will also live in it while I build the big house I cover the boards with a septic tank that will protect them from moisture and insects The base of the house is ready. A small lunch and I start building the walls I've always liked big windows. That's why I leave a lot of space for them. I'll do the windows myself too The first wall is ready. The only thing left to do is to raise it and secure it The back wall is very simple in design and light in weight I'm trying to keep everything on the level It's a very bad chisel, but it's the only one I have We need to make a ladder to easily climb onto the roof I do almost all of my work with hand tools. I just like it better that way The most difficult thing for me was to make the roof. I did it according to all the rules and I think I got it right Really like these bugs. They make an interesting squeaking noise when they sense danger I use special nails that are designed for asphalt shingles This is the windbreak that I'm going to secure on all sides The cladding will be attached to these laths. There must be an empty space for air ventilation I've been told I can't do the flooring and trim lumber alone. Never listen. It's all about desire This small upper window is made for greater access of sunlight, for the plan is to have a small roof over the front window Why the black color? I just like it :) The windows could have been bought, but I want to learn something here, so I decided to do everything myself I put the glass on the sealant. It's good The color of the corners is very conspicuous. Now I'm wondering...should I repaint it? It's a cat litter box filler. i'll have it soak up moisture in my front, single-pane window It has paid off. The window practically does not sweat in winter The swing window took some work, but it worked. But I wish I'd made it single-pane like the last one. The doors should have been made of thinner wood, but I don't have a store here :). I don't have to choose I use Styrofoam as insulation simply because it is lighter The first night in my cabin in the woods was like a holiday for me Nice and quiet And this is already a vapor barrier. These two films are designed to protect the insulation and the frame of the house from external influences The ceiling was harder than the walls, just because my hands are always up I'm starting to build a terrace. I've been thinking about it for a long time The night was wonderful. The insulation and soundproofing were very satisfactory I had some problems with the lock. I didn't have the right tool, but I improvised :) I've had people ask me why I didn't move the stove closer. It's just not possible. In the video it looks like you can get it very close...trust me it's not Keeping an eye on the fire, finding and chopping wood is a separate pleasure for me I made the bed wider than usual. So that if you wanted to, it could fit two people. You have to wait a little while for the bed to dry out At this time of year it is especially beautiful and cozy. The forest cottage has taken on new colors I decided to do the table without nails too. It's a great experience for me To make the table prettier, I'll make the legs wavy I'll be using the planer for the first time too. It's an English restored planer. I like it when a tool has a little history behind it The house is very cozy. There is still some small but important work to be done in the future Thank you for being with me
