take two welcome back to gp outdoors it's a gorgeous morning neighbor ralph's on his way over with his bx he's got a backhoe in the back he's coming over to help me get these stumps out once and for all hopefully we'll get her done today had a couple of questions from you folks about why i don't just simply cut these down at ground level and leave them let me show you i'm not sure if you can see this elevation change very well in the camera but my driveway or the grade of my drive where your level is down here and there's a good foot and a half to almost two feet probably for sure back here on this hump where these two stumps are so if i were to just cut these off at for lack of better words ground level i still have this issue especially people driving small cars with a little bit of ground clearance sliding through this corner and hitting their bumpers or the undercarriage of the car into this big hump because it goes right through this little area for about five or six feet so we want to get the stumps out but i also want to take out all of this excess dirt and try to get this grade down to level with the driveway so that when we do come through this corner and we swing wide we're not going to run into a big hump of ground or rocks i would imagine as he's digging this up we may end up having to damage or dig up some of the driveway here which is unfortunate i'll try to fix it as best as i can because i can't touch that gravel right now you may have seen my instagram post last week i had a snapping turtle up in here and she buried her eggs in this pile of gravel which means it's off limits now for at least 60 to 90 days so i'll have to keep watching for when they hatch i hope they do after the snapping turtle finished up in this pile i ended up finding another turtle different species trying to dig holes in the driveway to bury her eggs hey good morning sir how you doing good morning and how are you this fine man i'm great thanks for coming how's the garage doing oh well it's coming along we got the sand up to up to where i'm going to put gravel in it okay i picked up the drain because i want to put a drain in it so i picked it up yesterday so we're moving forward good wonderful ever done this winter yeah it'll be done for this christmas eh so you want to take a look at these stumps with this would love to great oh looks good you got two uh stumps to come out of here yeah guy and i took these down and uh as you can see i wanted to try to get two things done today i wanted to get them out if we can and then i need to move this dirt out as well because i'm trying to bring the level down to the basically to the where the driveway is oh yeah the bx will do it yes okay let's get her down the challenge thanks so much [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] wow [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] um god [Music] uh [Music] [Music] so [Music] nice job ralph great job finally all right that was fast still amazes me how much power you can get out of those little sub compacts 43 minutes from start to finish wow let me show you the game plan to clean this up these stumps i'm going to pick them up with the bucket i love this work master plate from ju fab works this is exactly why you need grab hooks or rings on your bucket i'm going to pick it up i'm going to drop it off in the forest somewhere and let mother nature do her job over the coming years the hole in the ground and all of these rocks and boulders i'm not sure if we're going to take them out or not but for now i think i'm just going to shovel these back in and try to smooth the hole over a little bit for now i'm kind of hamstrung neighbor guy's got my box ladies using it today so i can't use that and of course i can't touch that pile of gravel for another two months so we'll do the best we can for now maybe clean it up later but at least get this stuff out out of the driveway and back and fill this hole a little bit with the boulders [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] well it sure isn't pretty but hey i got the biggest one out i think i'm definitely gonna need the box blade here and i'm gonna grab the grapple get rid of some of these big boulders and then use the box blade to try to smooth this out and and i'm definitely gonna have to wait a while before i put new gravel in here to fill this anyways got her done she's out one step closer and one more thing on the to-do list thanks for sticking around today i hope you enjoyed it and a big thanks to neighbor ralph i really appreciate your help today have a great week with your family please be kind to each other and i'll see you again right here i'm gord potter and you've been watching gp outdoors cheers
