justin herbert is the real deal man friend have that kind of rookie year was crazy you know especially at the quarterback position it's such a there's so much going on like his first game you know that would have whatever happened to tyrod and he had to step in he come in he's firing it was crazy like how that whole experience or how that whole situation just played out just getting ready to play the game start the game and then you see tyra kind of not looking like tyrod you know kind of okay what's going on and then uh all you see is justin throwing the ball and time to go it wasn't no time to think it was just time to play he's gonna be starting right now yes justin herbert pressed into action herbert under center rolling to his right herbert still on his feet he's got the mobility touchdown chargers he's ready for the moment he was prepared prepared he was ready that was probably the coolest 15 minutes of my life he was always ready he's been preparing like he was going to be ready from day one and then you can see it when he got put in there in that situation he was a guy that took advantage of his opportunities and he shot justin herbert to jalen guyton for his first td pass of his career he's probably one of the toughest quarterbacks there was one he like knocked somebody out on the sideline they were watching that in film like hey like he's not going to get out of bed he's not going to he went out there and bald and i think it was just a you know just a big snowball effect to how it played out for his season i played for a long time man i just uh stay away from those big hits i learned earlier stay away you would not know he was a rookie from just like his quarterback play how he's reading the defenses though he throw the ball he's aware and he's savvy i mean kid's just a talent he has a lot of intangibles that just can't be coached you know it can't be taught [Music] man his arm talent is next to none from the opposite hand she's dropping back throwing across the field he's perfectly thrown he can make every single throw there's not a throw that he can't make it he'll launch it he did a great job he put the ball on the money man and a beautiful ball from justin herbert we played against him this year he had like a deep ball over the middle we blitzed him like four out like cover zero did he just do like a dime like over the top to get in touchdown chargers it was a perfect throw i'm like i mean he held the ball as long as he could let it go in the face of pressure i'm like this is impressive it was a pretty ball man i think everybody watches his game and uh really appreciates his poise in the pocket always willing to kind of stand in there and take a hit for a good throw you don't really see that in a lot of young guys yeah i love his balls bro touchdown charger you can't throw it any better than that just right over the shoulder you said i love his balls in the eighth fifty plus yard completion for herbert he doesn't have his first read or second reading extends to play tries to make something happen he's just balls it's a baller justin herbert set nfl rookie records for passing yards per game touchdown passes and total touchdowns on his way to winning offensive rookie of the year you know his trajectory is like that he's going to be a great player in this league three years to come
