okay so let's just zoom in on this part here I'm going to tighten that up and attach that hose the damn turbo first somebody asked me why the turbo is so small well we're talking 1960s technology here on this thing and you really don't want to overdo something you know I could put a bigger one on you know I could put a bigger one on or pour a bunch of pressure down into that thing and blow the head gasket [Music] our camera you got scared of the camera so there is this is called testing the turbo right wait a house I have to test okay so we're gonna go [Music] maybe oh I hear a truck coming you look all over for it know what this okay so I will explain to you exactly what we're doing here in a manner that you will understand wholeheartedly okay so what we've got here is a plumbing issue with the tractor with the turbocharger turbocharger forming as you know the plumbing issue is the the supply line to the turbocharger is an eighth of an inch the hole that the pipe become the pipe that goes to the off the turbocharger the hose the nipple that the hose attaches to is for a three-quarter inch ID hose inside diameter hose so I can slide that over top of that but when I comes out when it goes where it goes back into the engine block I don't have a tap for a half inch pipe threaded nipple so I don't need a half inch 1/8 or 1/4 of an inch would be more than enough to run the oil back down into the engine block ok so what I'm doing is I am building a I'm building a fitting that will go into that engine block to return the oil from the turbocharger back down into the engine so what I've got here is pretty simple it's just brass pipe thread now this is quarter to half-inch this is a quarter inch close this is a half inch reducer and that will go into this half inch elbow which will come out of that engine block and then shoot straight up so what I have to do now from this point forward is drill a hole in my engine block before I do that I would like to actually I'm gonna braise this fast now the problem with this is it's brass and in order to braise it I actually have to melt brass - brass so what I could very easily just solder it with lead so I'm thinking that's what I'm all right I'm going to solder it with lead that will be strong enough to hold everything that I need to do and I can do it very easily right here on my work any workbench using a using a propane torch which I do have so Jupe Jupe all right so what I've done here which is kind of silly is I've taken this piece of chemical hose which will work just fine for a return line for oil not really thrilled that that's what I've got to use but that's what I've got to use so what I'm gonna do is actually pull that out Timothy's got my dipstick here this guy here Oh what happened man I got a crack in it Jesus Christmas tree pull this out we've got plenty of oil in there so we're pretty happy with that and then I'm gonna grab my camera here go around to the other side so what I've got here and don't mind antifreeze on the floor I'll be cleaning it up later what I've got here is a mess you know a mess right there so now we're focused I'm going to go ahead and zoom in a little bit this little spot right here is where I need to drill that hole I'm gonna put a quarter inch pipe threaded piece of brass pipe in there to re to dump the oil so what's gonna happen is this guy here right here on the turbo I don't know can you see the turbo let me get the turbo into view right here is where the oil comes out of this turbocharger like this and it's gonna come down I'm gonna actually fish it down fish that sucker right down into that like that right about there and that's going to that'll be the return right down in there will be where the oil returns to the to the engine crankcase now I have to drill a hole in the right spot so that I got enough swing with the with the tube the ya think Wesley come on think the with the the new brass tube that I'm gonna put in there so I have to get it in the right spot so what I'm going to do is I'm gonna drill a pilot hole first I'm gonna get some light so I can see what I'm doing but I'm gonna drill a pilot hole first and then I'm gonna drill the 7/16 inch hole with a vacuum cleaner to suck the metal shavings up so it doesn't get down into the engine and the vacuum cleaner should suck all the metal shavings out as I'm tapping that pipe threaded piece so here we go [Music] okay so we've successfully drilled and tapped the hole so now what we've got to do digit taping vegetate oh I almost dropped it okay don't we get that far correct you know and your pincher finger I'd rather I'd rather cut one off than pension okay and my whole thought process with this thing is I'm worried about it no it's a because it's a big one going into a small one I'm small and going up I'm afraid it's gonna break you know I mean my take away because it is small I can always I can always put that half-inch nipple on because the hole that I drill but I knew I had a quarter-inch tap alright so when you know you got one thing you just do that and that's it and this thing here is almost ready to go to work now what we're gonna do just this guy here you just wanna get it in there one more time just snap it off you just give seven sixteen cents wrap it up bit drill bit then you drill it out and then you have like a spring okay so there it is that's it this is chemical hose oil chemical gasoline it's not gasoline house gasoline hose has a has a wire in it hmm a grounding wire if you didn't know did you not know what it has a ground wire in it so when you're pumping I see well now this is not gasoline hose this is a chemical hose on oil chemical hose Oh what is that then you set the red yes that's the that's yeah I guess you want to call it the French pen Ireland what I'm gonna do I'm gonna put a clamp there on the clamp there and we're golden this this turbo I got to put two clamps here and this turbo is ready to go to work just just barely enough to hold on to it because these are getting hard to find mm-hmm like impossible to find because this is just exclusively for mmw unless you find somebody that has an M&W hose you may have issues so let me get a couple of hose clamps there you can shut that off and I am now I'm getting kind of excited about this yeah maybe I'm a weirdo this has been 20 20 plus years I think I've bought this tractor in 1994 the fall of 93 the fall of 93 I bought this tractor we finished up chopping the corn silage and went into went into combat in corn I just hit my head with this thing cuz I went across dull there I just tore that closed opening my finger and why do they make these stupid hose clamps with a freaking tapered slot Chinese can't figure it out they got slanted eyes I guess he got slanted some goddamn thing because that's a stupidest thing I've ever seen okay so just short of these to work and I'm gonna actually I'm gonna tack that rake like that just like that so that it's tucked out of the way I'm not sticking out yeah yeah let me go
