okay i've got green lights but i'm not sure if this is actually live or not so um let's just double check just bear with me guys a quick look and see uh is it working i think it is i think it is okay cool yep looks like we're up and running i think okay so anyway welcome welcome welcome uh this is a bit of a celebration i've just woken up so i'm going to be a little bit groggy but um i'm one off getting 50 000 subscribers so that will certainly happen i think within the next minutes uh so it won't be long and um yeah so i thought we'd actually sort of do a a little bit of a celebration uh stream and i've sort of been thinking yesterday i haven't been looking at the subscriber count for weeks and weeks like you know because i know i was getting close to the 50 000 and i didn't know exactly when it was going to happen anyway yesterday i happened to look and it was just a handful off and uh and sure enough this morning when i've woken up and one off so we're right on the 49 999 which i thought i'd actually just grab that as a screen grab just before we finally make it over the 50 000. thanks vincent yes it is working great okay awesome so i thought we'd actually just i was thinking i really wanted to sort of go back and do a bit of a celebration i guess of one of the games that um has really helped make the channel and uh so that i had a few like this is actually my desktop in through here i'll just close this one down oh wow thank you magnificent meal much appreciated for the super chat now i will apologize in advance i'm pretty gonna miss super chats that one really does stand out there so um thank you very very much for that one uh but anyway i thought it sort of like fallen enchantress i like that that one's just been updated literally this week uh so that was actually on my short list so thinking oh you could go back and play that and then um i tried to get distant worlds running yesterday as well because that was a big one in the channel and uh so sort of wanted to get that one going i've loaded it back in age of wonders three but i haven't actually i got it started but i haven't actually tried to sort of get that one going so these are all massive games for the for the channel and of course dwarf fortress and i i thought in the end i thought oh look i'll i'll play dwarf fortress i had a few uh a few people actually on on my discord server as well just sort of you know giving some suggestions actually forgot to look at that this morning to see if there were any other suggestions but in the end i sort of like it got dwarf fortress up and running yesterday and i thought oh nicole i'll play some dwarf fortress so that is sort of uh thumping along uh what we might do is i'll just go through the setup of what i've actually got i haven't actually generated the world yet so we'll load that one in um i don't want to bring it in and load an old pack so anyway this is the this is going to be the setup that i'm going to have so i was thinking half thinking of actually recording the whole process oh geez something's happened there where the things have disappeared just bring that one back some for some reason the um the chat went away but anyway it's back again now so i think actually i've also got yeah for some reason everything sort of disappeared there for a second all right so i think we're still up and running got it sort of um i stream so much on on twitch now i've got everything set up for twitch i sort of i'm sort of hoping that i don't so screw this this up anyway i keep on meaning to do more here on youtube it's sort of funny because i've got to be careful of the youtube algorithm so so careful and uh so i haven't been doing much live streaming here for for quite some time um so uh i enjoy being naked isn't saying any thoughts in the new king's bounty i haven't actually played that i've sort of like reading the um reading the comments i sort of i'm in no rush to try and get it like it's one of those games where um yeah it's like just reading what people have sort of said about it it doesn't doesn't look like it's improved a hell of a lot if you know what i mean like it's sort of still i don't know they i i think the the best game of any of those sort of games was way way back uh what was it it was um here is a might and magic two or three or something like way way back um hi peter so peter's saying love for the love for the youtube yes yeah it's sort of like youtube's very important to me um like really important so i i'm really careful not to try to sort of screw up the algorithm because i i must have done something at some point because at some point youtube stopped promoting my videos and so it's been a hard slog the last few years with youtube and uh and it's sort of one of those things where i really want to try to get it reset back to something where i can make it um grow fast again and uh because it has been quite slow the growth so we have it's extremely close um if i just go back to this one here look at the that's where we are currently i'm just doing a quick update and will it still be yeah there we go so someone just subscribed [Laughter] literally someone just subscribed there we go so i should actually take that as a um i might just do a uh a quick screen grab of this if you don't mind um just as a bit of a celebration i'll sort of zoom right in and bring that one across ctrl f5 control f12 is where i've got my my stuff on all right and we'll grab that put that onto social media or something i guess i'll just uh save directly there we go saved was i was thinking of doing this live stream yesterday actually and getting it to tick over yesterday oh thanks there david much appreciated saying your videos are always informative and enjoyable they've allowed me to jump into a number of games that i would otherwise skipped wishing you continued success thanks i really like i really enjoy it it's um it's one of these things where i really really do enjoy doing it and so it's sort of it's become and i've got to be a really protective of that enjoyment factor as well so that's why i try not to be overly focused on the business side of of getting the channel to work but i've i sort of have to because because of the amount of time it takes so it's a real uh it's a real balancing act trying to sort of keep that that um enjoyment for what you're doing and uh and also trying to make it successful so it's it's one of those things i try not to min max it too much but sometimes you just gotta anyway dwarf fortress let's get into it um uh yes so demon king of zen say congratulations on 50k this just popped into my feed that's cool actually that's good i'm glad that it is because i've sort of had a feeling that the channel was basically um was not being pushed at all by by um youtube and it was um it was depressing actually just that how difficult it has been over the last couple of years with the i guess with the i mean it's actually gone backwards the the actual growth of the channel so anyway it's one of these things i've been trying to reach reset a little bit by doing less uploads uh just at the moment until like sort of get it until something happens with it anyway peter's in so you must resist the urge to unsubscribe uh look it's f it's all fun and games it's only a number you know like it was i wasn't even going to do anything like a like a couple of months ago i thought like i just it's not a it's you know it's just a number so i'll just sort of let it let it come but anyway it is a milestone i think it's worth um celebrating and you guys have certainly been the you know the people who've got me to this to this point and i'm really blessed to be able to you know sort of be able to spend time doing this sort of stuff so yeah thank you guys thank you this is a thank you stream uh anyway let's uh go through so i've got the lazy nude pack i've downloaded this yesterday i've sort of set all of these back down to these are just the defaults essentially so i've got cave-ins we've got weather we've got artifacts uh temperature entombed pets here some aquifers on uh aquifers are now different in all fortress if you haven't sort of played it over the last year or two so the aquifers are no longer anywhere near as bad as what they once were i've turned on all of the profiles um by default it just starts off with default profiles but let's let's put them all in not that we'll probably use it we'll probably do something uh as as well there um so uh pesky uh uh quiet madness and saying hey dez i came for the gladius guides and stayed with the superb content so here's the next fifty thousand yeah i want the next fifty 000 to go pretty fast if i can do it i've got to think about what i like i don't know whether i've got to change my style or approach or make the video shorter or i don't know that's what i mean i don't want to min max too much um so um so uh sharky mouth saying you've nearly matched the amount i've spent on games since i started watching you and uh so yeah jagermos uh alagura has been saying uh hey daz congrats thanks for that and lupus as well thanks guys i'll i'll try to just focus a little bit more on the on this down we'll get this thing started because we'll have a bit of time to chat while the uh while while the game is being generated i change i always go with laptop with mouse this is not the default uh vanilla dwarf fortress is the default but this is so much easier if you are playing on a computer so i don't know why that's not the default to be honest uh graphics wise we've got the vetlinger pack and i've got my daz roboto font as the actual font and i've put in my dash color pack as well back in through here so um so that's uh that's the color scheme and that's the the font so there to aspects that i've made myself i think i've got links somewhere online for those of anyone wants those utilities wise i had a lot of trouble getting um soundsense gtk to work it wouldn't work at all so i've gone to soundsense rs and i do have that one working so that will be the sound program that we use today uh advanced uh yeah that's all nothing in through there i've just got auto saves on so they'll pays on pause and save look i might switch that on i think we'll do that and d of hack i've turned on the i figure which one's on by default might be enhanced gameplay yeah no that's not so i've turned that one on multi-level viewers on by default that's anyone that's on by default i've also turned on other automation plugins so we can have like um auto nest boxes and burial and performance tweaks as well so they're they're the df hack things that i've got turned on so anyway that's what we've got so let's play dual fortress and this one should show up there we go now there's the font which will kick in now [Laughter] so there's even a bit of a delay with the recordings but it looks like that's all sort of working out okay uh let's create a new world and here we go so i'm just going to let this thing run to maybe to about 200 years of of history the more i can let it run the better so just press escape oh hang on escape this is not what i wanted to do i wanted to go down to the next one one thing i also did was i did a file comparison of the i've i've got a um a super aggressive i've got two super aggressive fantasy land uh modules which change the algorithm a little bit for generating a world and they've have there's some changes with the um with different sort of monsters that have come through in the actual like in these in the stand set up since the last time i played and so i've tweaked these as well so i think we'll play dad's fantasy land which is uh basically a 129 by 129 which essentially equates to the medium that's medium island in through there which is about the same size or medium region i think it's medium island i think is what this thing's based on anyway let's just go into it and get started so if i just press that one away we go so that's going to take some time it will generate the first hundred odd years fairly quickly so we're in the age of myth and we probably won't get out of the age of myth oh now we've got conflicts of of music so sorry about this i hope it's not too loud i better go and fix that sorry turn that music off and back into it and please don't crash and we still we're still going we're still going that's okay all right well let's let that one sort of slide so this uh this world i can't shuffle around on this one one thing i always look at here is just for where the volcanoes are to see if there's any i'd really love volcano start so i've made this one where i think i've got 12 volcanoes that generate in this particular world there's a there's a an undead tower like a necromancer tower and what we'll see is the color will change around it so this is already haunted uh backing around that one there uh just i'll read a few more of the comments while we wait for this thing to go so we've got um uh so and i can't pronounce the name sorry by saying congratulations thanks for the content from russia with love thank you very much for that it is kingdom of say you've got so many fantastic videos but only 50 plus subs or 50k subs so let's let's hope you start appearing in the algorithm yeah i know it's i don't know what it was that's i've got my suspicions i think i used the word theocrat in in one of my age wonders um uh let's play series and then and then after that it's it just crashed and uh like in it and they actually demonetized that as well like that was uh that whole series was demonetised until i changed the word theocrat and it was sort of like i don't know it's after that it slowed right down so who knows who knows uh why sort of saying uh just got into dwarf fortress this year tried and failed learning the game from other videos until i found yours so thanks for that i didn't expect the one that finally works for me is tutorial from six years ago it hasn't changed that much the principles the principles are still fairly much there hi syphil how are you going um and uh to talk to sit as then saying you use fences too yeah it's great isn't it it's just been updated as well another stardock program so in saying a great font in dwarf fortress what is that the one i'm using is one that i made myself it's um i found it was easier to to read and record with with a an actual more traditional font so i've actually and i forget what it's called a roboto i think i just styled this on roboto which is the google font there is um if there is link somewhere out there in my in my old video so i can't remember where they actually are i should actually find where they are and put a link in in here i guess um so um a bruising that guru is saying is there any news of when warfare is officially coming to steam i've got no idea actually i haven't seen much action with that for for a while i don't look at it all the time but it's not nothing i've sort of seen and jelly is then saying hey dad's congratulations on reaching 50k i subscribed back in jan 2014. oh wow okay i can't say i've watched your content all that much but i um but what i haven't watched from time to time i've enjoyed thanks for that yeah it's it's i sort of hope it's a bit relaxing and a bit of a slow pace um okay so um you start saying it it always stops at 250 doesn't it i'm not sure actually let's just let it run through i'll just keep on doing the um the uh i'll just keep on reading these until until we until i get to catch up with i've nearly only got three more to go at this stage i think you have to turn off sound while you're running sound sense um i think what look i've just i've turned off the music so the music um that should have been saved as as my settings actually what i might do is i might just go back and tweak those as well when we get uh past this one you'll see that we haven't got out of the age of myth at all in fact we've hardly moved from this location uh we'll come back and just and talk a little bit about the world generation in just a minute but there's another really really big uh tower there and actually the wilds have just just fought back a little bit with that necromancer tower um okay so uh thomas k saying are you excited to see dwarf fortress steam release yes when it when it comes it would be great actually uh momo is insane good to see this game uh streamed in 1080p congratulations for 50 000. thanks for that one hi explorement hello rob that's saying uh congratulations that's yeah i've seen we just literally made it just as i started this stream i thought when when i was when i was setting it all up i was at 4 9 99 9. and literally just popped it popped it through um uh so uh tortoise and saying i can say i'm not excited for the dwarf watcher stream now which it's one of those things where i was and look people were not like it was me in the end i think you know like i will go back and do a dwarf fortress um so um uh peter is in saying haunted regions are growing quite nice yes they are aren't they although this one looks to it has been pushed back a little bit what about here's another necromancer towel that's just been started so and this one here has been killed off so that's been destroyed i love this i love how how the um how the actual history changes in you know when you know what to look for uh it really does uh things change a lot in this game which is really quite cool uh what else we've got there so i will apologize i'm going to be missing a lot of the comments here so um it saying i hope your channel blows up after the new dwarf fortress update attracts more people to the game yeah look it's and probably i will come back and i know there's been a lot more content added to dwarf fortress uh if you were over the must be 300 that i've got this thing set to just let it keep on going so um coming off saying congratulations and more bits are of um of dead heroes we've got heaps of historical figures so i'll just press the escape key and uh we're going to be around this this time here actually this tower here has also disappeared now interesting that's interesting we've got another tower that appeared over here uh let's use the worlds as it currently exists that that should be fine we're still in the age of myth with the settings i've got because it's so aggressive um the actual world is super super aggressive we very rarely get out of the age of myth if you've um if you if you haven't played much at dwarf fortress when it's generating it generates an incredible world uh where things are like it actually does things really really accurately i it's sort of funny for me to say this but i've i actually played this game when i was learning to play it i played it before going a meeting with a whole lot of mining engineers and and i learned so much from from playing dwarf fortress that when i was talking to these guys i ended up being able to understand what they were talking about from the mining perspective and that then led to a massive massive project that the biggest project i had for about five years all from dwarf fortress there we go so it's it's quite a special game for me actually it's uh like it was and that was all about aquifers and how aquifers sort of work and and all that sort of stuff and so it's really quite accurate so they prepare the elevation like you can see they're the mountains and and sort of like the flatlands a mountain range running through here it's quite it's really really um accurately done uh sitting temperatures as well so it sets it like from usually cold in the north and sort of and hotter in the south uh it runs rivers from the see how the rivers are all running off the mountains so they actually run off the mountains so it actually builds these things up uh forming lakes and minerals it then sort of has like it then goes through like sedimentary uh aspects with the rivers themselves grows vegetation uh verifying the terrain importing wildlife so it then sort of seeds the world and then starts the legends and so the years that we have it sort of it then creates when it imports wildlife it imports a whole lot of different things as well at the same time so there's a lot it does an awful lot um and then it's just it goes through the different ages and so while you've got mythological beasts ruling it's the age of myth it then goes through things like the age of heroes um and then if there's one beast that really really dominates it will actually be whatever the name of that beast is as well so it's got a whole list of different ages i forget what they are because since i've been using this setting it doesn't get out of the age of myth so anyway let's uh continue on so we'll go and um use the use the world ah frozen south fro so we've got a frozen south and um aggressive north we've got a heap of volcanoes in the south we didn't see these we've got a uh we've got a necromancer tower right next to this volcano so what i'll do is i will actually i think we'll just enter and accept this so i think that i'm liking the feel of this volcano down in the ice down in the tundra this is frozen ocean down through this side um i'm liking that right away you can see many volcanoes i've got that spawn in a lot of them spawning in the in the in the water so always look for if you look at this tower wow that's really really and this one's all completely haunted as well okay actually maybe we'll have a bit of a look and see how we go hi jason how are you going and um uh so demon is in saying did you suggest using the double slip method to the mining engineers to get through the aquifers it was just more that i understood exactly what they were talking about because it was about safety and it was um so i mean i could act so i could contribute i didn't i didn't say that i didn't pretend i knew anything but i i could at least understand what they were trying to get across like it was for a website uh like a really massive website and um and so yeah so no it was just funny it was just it was a funny funny meeting actually after it um so robertson saying can't wait for more room art content hope it grows into a great game i hope so too my only fear about roanoke is that it's going to be too much of the same each time you play it that would be the only fear i'd have for it and so i'm hoping that that's not the case i hope that it that it does have that that wow factor every time you you load it up that's that's the only only sort of reservation i have but each time i've played it i've played it a few times now like just you know before i started recording and i was pleasantly surprised each time i played it but that's not really enough to get the feel if it's always going to feel different so i hope it does i think it's got the potential to be something really quite special actually there's a volcano right there right there so that's actually not too bad let's uh let's accept this world so it's now just going to offload those units and what i would typically do at this point in time is export the legends but i think for the sake of expediency we'll we'll forego that it's going to take us a little while to get set up anyway yeah i think a few different things we could do um just looking down in that little area of the world i'm liking i'm liking the feel for that of that one there uh we can either play something where we just go straight down into the horrors of being right near the necromancers and just see how long we can survive or we can do a a start on a volcano close by so we still get visited by them um so yeah cythill saying that dwarf fortress is a gold standard for games like this it actually is actually now normally if you guys have been watching my twitch channel i've got like a thing that will beep at me if you do an outdance tactic i don't have that on here so i will i will apologize i'm going to be missing a lot of comments so i will apologize in advance um so um prem slaw is in saying uh congratulations on fifty thousand new tutorial vids and dwarf forts are still in my book park for a quick look in fact i always start playing the game from watching them well that's the whole idea you shouldn't min max's game and i think so much of what's written about the game or shown about the game is about how to how to do stuff without actually just the enjoyment factor and i think that this is really where uh this is actually where dwarf fortresses should be about just fun you know like so i played attempted to play adventurer mode and rush down into one of those towers but we won't survive no matter how strong we make the dwarf let's just go draw fortress mode i'm not very good with the adventure mode robertson saying volcano lava death towers every time thing i think so i i really do like volcano starts that's why that particular settings that i've got is um i've really ramped up the volcanoes okay well we're actually right down here this is exactly where i was thinking of going so if we go down into this side and have a look this is the volcano right there and if we have a look over this side looks like we've got grassland we've got some trees over through this side and we've got mountains all the way around the actual volcano so if i now what is this is a d yeah d will then move it across and if i just go up one that gives me a whole collection of mountains all the way around here um with um with some grassland in through there that's a 4x4 so it's a reasonable size or is there any other options that we want to have a look at this is where like most people when they're going to be playing the game will actually go through with the embark assistant and then start to give it parameters of what it what you actually what it wants to have but you don't need to do it like if i do um the sand indicator if i just go s um back anywhere i'll just go a actually no i won't i'll leave that one off it's funny i thought that that was i'll just print press enter i thought there was a way to show what was actually underneath there um what does tab do it's just yeah that's just the sizes uh that's the now we've got um we've got goblins and we've got the tower so we do actually have everything involved here so that's actually fairly good that's got it's got goblins right next to us it's got dwarfs it's got elves got humans and it does have the tower so the towers in play there so there's this one here where we actually have like a big mountainous region um where we can actually make use of a volcano on the top of that little mountain range and so we can see that this is like a mountain outcrop that sort of is showing up back out through this side and if i go across to the um to this one here we can see there's like two mountains with a with a river that runs between them so there's like a stream that runs out this side of the of the two mountain ranges that we that we can actually see there let's go down and have a look so the tower is just going to be in here so this is the necromancer tower uh which would be fairly big and then we have this what this area way down in the in the uh frozen tundra uh where we've got another volcano just sort of sitting off uh with um just in on frozen land essentially that's just just just gonna be tundra there's another one down here but it's gonna be too far away i like having this one to sort of see what's going on actually with the wall with the humans over this side which is interesting um yeah there's a volcano there again just in the tundra but we don't have the tower so we sort of missed that one there so that's that's sort of not really all that great uh if we have a bit more of a look around um another tower back over here and this this into here if i just go press tab again um this is haunted haunted surroundings uh down through this other side where this tower is we have um it goes from untime untamed wilds into um terrifying and then haunted right next to the tower like it's so terrifying enclosed so there is a bit of haunted terrain around this particular tower this tower then has got like a rich history this has been going for quite some time in that sort of sense um i'm thinking of this volcano here uh what do we got over this side this is um sand deserts uh it's very cold but it is still just sand deserts big sand dunes back in through there um so not that we need to worry about that one but this is not a very hospitable land and then we have the um the actual dwarf dwarf areas backing through this side as well so light aquifer shallow metal actually that's what i was looking at looking for this one here is um light aquifer shallow metal deep metals in that position there so this is actually not a bad start um okay so we've got uh the volcano is the rages of frost i'm guessing is is the name of the volcano and the brook that runs through is the mistress cells whatever that is so we do actually have a light aquifer which is very very easy for us to um to make use of i think we go here so let's just go and cross uh if you've forgotten how to play this press e uh you've selected an area with a light aquifer water may need to be pumped out or carried away yeah we can do it into it certainly is much easier now what we might just do is do we want to do we want to really go through this in detail um i think what we might do is we might prepare prepare for the journey carefully rather than this is i've turned on all of the different starts so you can sort of see what's going on um like you can sort of just do a quick start like a nebula tron with two miners a grower carpenter doctor hunter lumber craft dwarf and cook cook cook or brewer which is sort of would be a good start to be honest that would actually not be too bad um yes there's a whole lot of different sort of starts not that you you don't end up with too much going on through here um engineers seem to build fortification one i really enjoy playing is just vagabonds but this might be too hard for just a vagabond start we need we do need to have more than then like this will be a bit more difficult than than anything else so maybe we'll just go with the nebula tron just click on ok it's not complete what have we got so we just press escape so we have um how much you've still got 50 points let's go to p nokia meat is available so that's all everything that actually happened through there was um and we'll see there we've got like this one is an adequate uh proficient miner this one over through here is a proficient miner as well uh this one over here was setting up as an adequate grower [Music] this one is a skilled carpenter and a novice building designer a ambusher butcher tanner this one is a mason's yeah this is a this is a nice little start actually and then here we've got the mechanic uh brewer and cook so this is a nice little start as far as the people are concerned if we just go across to um uh what is it what is it what is it if we go to tab to the items so we've still got 50 we can spend so it's come in with 20 20 of these now one thing i do want to do is just add one extra because by adding one extra to all of these we end up with an extra barrel so you get 10 of some everything in a barrel by by making it 21 or 31 or whatever else it might be you end up with three barrels rather than two barrels so it's a cheap way of it's an easy way of just getting a few little extra things a steel anvil we don't need that an iron anvil would be heaps uh i won't get rid of it though just yet copper crossbow turkey leather quivers we've got two of those copper bolts we've got a 50 plump helmet spawn um two picks a copper battle axe now the battle axe is going to be a bit of a problem for us i think the pond turtle back into here as well and cave lobster so we've got those um now as far as the we've got two dogs coming with us two female dogs one male dog um two cats two female cats one one one male cat what else have we got in terms of animals now the reason it goes with turkey like we've got six turkey hens and one turkey gobbler is because turkeys will give you leather and the others won't so this used to be the way anyway i'm not sure if it's still the same but turkeys when you do slaughter them they actually do give you some leather so you can actually make you can make stuff more stuff from a turkey than you can for example from a chicken um look at the two hump camels there okay yep so that's all right now we didn't have anything else so that's just your stock standard which is which is great um now where's the uh this stuff over here i'm just going to go to in for new is there anything else we really want probably the one thing that we do want to have is um [Music] where is it where is it where is it threads you won't worry about those so much backpacks we won't worry about there's powders here we go let's get some gypsum plaster and um i'll add a little bit of that in there we'll get say five of those that's just in case we need to um to set any broken bones and this will be a dangerous looking uh little area we're gonna be going into high entrusted life how you going um and jason's saying just pick an easy start [Laughter] okay so um uh yeah so if this was saying why would you make an envelope of steel actually that's a point like let's take it anyway because it was in there but we an iron anvil would have been fine like if we just press n uh in fact do we want to grab even that if we can if we can afford it uh what else we got what would that be under that is tools i'm not sure if that would actually be under tools or now actually one thing we are going to struggle with is wood wood is going to be a problem here i think i think we've got some wood but not a hell of a lot so we're going to be a little bit careful here miscellaneous yeah no it's not there if you expect because it's a bit lighter than other other wood not that it matters in this game uh so we've only got 24 to spend so we'll just go and get that down to zero there we go so we've got no points mountain from the mountain homes into the forbidding wilderness beyond your harsh trek has finally ended your party of seven is to make an outpost for the glory of all of nish actually i forgot to look at that damn it i forgot to look at the uh at the empires um there's almost no supplies left but with the stoutly become sustenance whether by bolt plow or hook provide for your dwarves you're expecting a supply caravan just before winter entombs you but it is spring now enough time to delve secure lodgings either giant wolves get hungry a new chapter of dwarven history begins here at this place uh avasculist mind whispers strike the earth now this is uh the wolves okay so we've got giant wolves uh what we can expect to see that's sort of what we can um see coming through we'll just one now this is the overall map this is the instructions what we can do if i just press tab a couple of times we can have a bit of a look around so we start off pause so let's just have a bit of a look around that's the volcano there it's always about the same sort of size the volcano so that one just continues on i should now now they've got the other things other settings this one will then go up so that's the top of the mountain so we have the lava is actually fairly high up so as we sort of come through here uh we're going to sort of get more and more so i think that this is the actual surface of the lava and so we're a little bit we're starting a little bit below that and we're just seeing there's lots of obsidian backing through this side this looks to be yeah even that's obsidian that's weird that's strange that's strange we've got obsidian back over here because obsidian can really only sort of it only can start next to the volcano and so we expect to see obsidian around here but not in around here that's that is very very unusual to see that um it's almost like there's been a flow like a flow of lava uh that sort of come through but then you still wouldn't see obsidian all right so this is very very steep where we actually are let's just go down and look at the bottom so this is very very steep okay we've now got obsidian at this at this point we're now starting to see some trees trees are now starting to appear down through here and we're down into the into the forest floor down through this side now i'm thinking we actually go down instead of starting on the mountains top we start down in here somewhere we've got a small mountain there actually like it's only a few hot it's only a little bit higher than the others so that one sort of uh goes down then this is the actual bottom layer through here so this one here is fairly it's not very steep whereas this here is really quite steep as we go up um what have we got in there that's um endocytes not that it means anything zircon just trying to think about like if i if i set up in here that way i can actually sort of so i can still get access to the to the um to that fairly easily it's a nice uh nice big area back in through there as well i've got some birds and stuff in through this side but i think this is where we'll actually make our make our start another um this is interesting this is actually when we remember when we looked at it we had like uh we had them the outcrops sort of came around and created like a a c shape around the around actually there's a lot more wood here than what i expected like a lot more and we've got these these little outcrops of mountains that have sort of come back up but they're not really big enough to do anything so we won't worry about those we'll just come back down and we'll just go back to the actually even that's lower it goes down even further again so it's we've got a nice little flat area here and i think that we'll make use of this there's a slight indent there and then it sort of goes into the funny sort of shape now what i've got to be careful of here is that i don't end up with something where we end up with weak weak areas above us and so this here i don't like the way that sort of is going up but i don't mind there's a little bit of a solid outcrop right there so i'm thinking we just go straight in for that this this i don't mind at all for the for the entry so i'm thinking that this will be where we where we actually go so there's a bush just in front of that one um yeah rather than rather than this one here okay so we'll just press tab again uh just press it until we get what we want which is this one here all right so that's going to be what we do so i'm going to just set up a planning mode of what we actually do and i'm going to be a little bit i'll just press d now one thing i like to set up is the um is the box select just turn that one on so alt m that then that means i can then sort of draw boxes rather than anything else i'm going to make this one this has to be three wide to get a cabin to get a um uh what is it actually that one it's still okay that's still actually okay there i'm just trying to think maybe i'll go this way go there so we want to dig through we just want to mine um in initially so that will then just sort of get them started to sort of work work their way into the actual mine itself so we need this for getting our um uh getting everything ready for uh for the what is it the the trade caravan that needs to have three wide for that just to actually then work so what we might do is we might plan out what we're gonna do with the uh with that with that caravan uh so what we'll do is we'll we'll have a caravan come through inside and then down a little bit and then we'll figure out a way to then have like a trap system um before it then comes deeper into the actual fortress itself and then what we'll do is we'll have a bit of an entrance back into this side and another corridor that will run off this way into the actual fortification itself i think that will work and with the with the caravan down this side we'll block that we'll have a we'll have a block in through here to stop anything from actually reaching this one in fact we might i might leave if i leave that one down that's then going to block that off which will then stop this thing from coming through so that's actually the wrong spot so let's just press the x key just go back to there and then the d key and just get that one that way i can put the the the one of the draw bridges right here we can ultimately put another drawbridge there if it's if anything's too aggressive and then this one down through here we'll figure out what to do with the uh with the depot afterwards so i'm just going to now go across to um the markings so sh shift m and i'm just going to go and paint those that means that they won't action action those but this will be this will be the start bits just do shift m again and um go back to d so once we come back through here this will be our way in we will need to have like a an area uh this will be like our first our first sort of workings i guess of the actual mine itself so let's just go and build a uh a big storage area through here initially and um just do an entry entryway into there so this would be like our first actual storage all right that'll be the two minus condenser to get working on those uh we do actually need to get rid of the um of these as well so that's a z i think so d then z remove stairs and ramps so let's just remove the stairs and ramps from here across to there and do the same here yep that'll do us all right so um that's those done let's go and get the wood choppers working as well so we'll just go across to d then c yeah chop down actually t is fine so we'll just get the um get these chopped down as well by having the that box select on it just allows me to very easily go and grab stuff so we'll uh just get rid of all of these it's done and um press escape and i think that's about all we need to do initially let's just unpause it away we go actually one thing i did need to look at was just the units um you've got all those peregrine falcons men and women now these are just wild animals and we have uh peregrines in through here as well so um we've actually got like a falcon mans and falcon women coming through they may steal stuff um have a bit of a look where are they down here down this way yeah let's just leave them alone we won't worry about them um we'll just go back across and just watch our guys go down and then eventually what we'll do is we'll just we'll just get started on the uh on the on that bottom layer so there they go they're all wandering down the hill down the hill to go and do things this is very very steep so they're moving in quite nicely actually that's nice and fast now the yep the lumberjack is working away down there as well now we'll need to get a workshop layer so what i want to do here is i want to keep this top layer fairly contained let's just get this all worked out and then what i want to do is then ultimately just get my first stockpile set up and get everything down into the stockpile i think we might do another one off to the to the top is there as well how big is that one one two three four five six seven eight nine one this ultimately will be where the uh i'm blocking this one off and i'll just get these guys to actually i should have i should have made sure that they did finish this big area off first before we did anything and so we'll use a few little cheats i guess just for moving the rocks out of the way once they get going in here now if they leave here before we're ready for it i will yep that's okay keep it keep going there guys you're nearly done you are nearly done all right so they're now working off on the other side uh once this one gets through this one we'll then come back and partake let's go and get rid of all of the stone because we're going to have a lot of stone so there is a little cheat that you can use if you just go back out to um which one is it is this yeah this is df hack so and just going to go across to d oops d and then b um set building item property so b back in through there then d dump items so d and we've still got the box select on so i'm just going to go back and and dump everything so they're all dumped we'll also dump that one as well i could do it with the trees but i'll i'll only do it with stone essentially uh so anything that's stone related i'll just do it this way and i'm just going to leave it here for now i'm just going to go and pop it there and i'm just going to go across and just go so i'm just putting the cursor right there come back out to df hack and i think it's just auto dump yep 35 items were quick dumped all right that's good back to the game again just wait for the uh graphics to catch up there we go so it just keeps it nice and neat so many just do it that one and so this one with the b and then c is the is the reclaim the items and so just for just so we've got access to them so there's now like a big pile of stone uh that's nice and neat uh we've got the zircons we've got everything sort of just sitting back in through that that particular area now we need to set up a stockpile back into this side so we'll just go back to p and this one is going to be initially i want to have something with barrels in it so i'm just going to go across to food and so i got to get started somewhere and so i'm just going to go across and make that into a massive stockpile once i'm actually there i can click on it and change the settings and then what we want to do is we want to have everything selected now the animals this is for cages and things like that i will actually enable this for now enable corpses i won't refuse i won't stone i won't ammo yes coins yes bars and blocks gems finished goods leather cloth wood i'll i will bring wood in actually weapons and trap components armor sheets and um you allow plant an animal allowed non-plant an animal yep so that's actually all good stone refuse now the refuse i don't think i'll bother with that and the corpses i won't bother with so just everything basically so if we have any cages they'll be brought in uh everything will now be brought into this particular area so this is where the rest of the dwarves can now get involved and uh and start bringing things in and i'll get another storage area through here did i do did i do wood i think i did actually i'm gonna undo wood i'm just going to go back into their settings yeah i did so we're going to um that's going to be disabled here we go but everything else we brought in and uh then we also need to get so they're going to be digging away this other room i'll just keep this as a spare room for now not that we really need to worry about it too much now what we're going to be needing to do is i'm going to need to figure out some sort of trap layer using the um using this we've really blessed having that i mean it's it's great having these and we don't have to use the aquifer like because we're on the side of the mountain so the aquifer is going to be down in here now the aquifer may ultimately be how we get our water so um i might have to sort of think of a way of of working that now in terms of the way that lava might work i might even change the way this works as well and go up in fact i might start setting that up for the future construct black zircon that's okay i'll leave this is just a black a blank area for for now let's just get this one's built so if we just go to d um this is now just gonna be the mining and so we'll set up this one where we where it comes down a little bit deeper um now if i set the m toggle like if i if i just put m i'm just doing markers which essentially means that i'm just planning i'm just going to go down a little bit deeper and from here i'm going to then come across and we'll set this one up so that we end up coming up so we'll just go across to the up ramp so r is just going to be through this side now we're just going to go up one layer another ramp there up one more layer and so that's just going to set the the ramps to go up and what we can then do is we can actually then have lava flow uh across these different areas and so what we'll then once we get up to this point with the um with that one we then got the next layer which is just going to be d and we're just going to start to dig dig across again so this will be this will then allow us to ultimately have like a way of protecting things through some sort of trap system where i'm thinking of having lava flow through underneath and so we'll probably end up channeling like where we end up with maybe a three by three or even a four wide or something like that with some lava that does actually come back through the side so we might as well get that set up as well so let's just go back down in channel so we'll just get it all planned so just go to h and we'll just channel through the middle here so this one comes through to this this point i'm sort of happy enough if we come straight across the top of this i just want to be high enough that that's not going to really work worry us too much so let's go through four wide through there so we'll channel that one out and and then we'll need to come back down this side so this will end up being like the the four that we have will essentially be um just a dug out on this level i hope i'm making sense with that four wide there four wide through here so that's ultimately going to be where the lava will go and we might as well make use of this as well um let's make this a quite a big channel that sort of thing comes back out through so we've got almost we could almost have it so that we do something with it down this way where's our entrance oh it's not even a lot further up in that case we'll um yeah we're in around here for the entrance make it five wide that would be neater let's press the x get rid of that one the five wide there and that means if we go to the layer above we just get the channeling so that's h okay and i'm not ready to dig this out yet but that ultimately will be where we end up having all the lava will come through so we'll put a bridge across there and um and then we'll have uh just need to get that across this big lava area through down through here um actually i'll go this way a bit bit further across um we don't need it that wide once we get around here somewhere so i'm just sort of thinking it out aloud i think i'll just make it go down to three wide at that stage and we'll have a look and see whether where the um where the where it all sort of starts back over here yeah that's that's going to be fine so what we want to do is we want to come back into here so this will ultimately be how we uh how we access the lava so the lava will flow into here the this unlike water it won't um it won't rise above its level whereas uh so as long as i've got this all set up now i've got to think do i re how do i want to how do i want to use this at the end here because i can plan that all through so it's all going to be lava a big lava pit um that will flow down through there which will then be the trap so this would ultimately be the main axis into our into our fortress all right let's just go back down the bottom here again and these guys are still working away they've now finished doing what they're doing they're bringing stuff in i'm going to dump all this stuff again as well um let's uh let's get the actual dwarf the fortress itself now planned out so we've got an area here we can block off very very easily um so we'll get that set up fairly soon we'll just go back into this side so this is i'm going to turn off the markers now so we're actually now doing the proper fortification i'm just using areas for a couple of a couple of areas in through there now what we want to do through here is just do like a five by five room with a group of stairs in the middle here we want the stairs to go up and down so i'm just going to now go up downstairs so i and i'm just going to go and click there and we'll be wanting them to come up to the level ultimately of the of of this which is where the this is where our um uh depot will end up being so i'll just go back down to there pretty sure that was actually where we were yeah it was that's fine and we'll just keep on going down into the fortress as well um so get in a few different layers let's make sure that all lines up it does all right so those guys can just start to sort of work that out and once we come up to the top layer in through this side uh just start there just go to d make it a 5x5 and we'll make this just a downstairs this will be the top of the of the actual fortress so these will be downstairs jay so just planning out where things will actually go now this is also going to be a vulnerability uh once we actually get everything sort of built in through this side so we're going to need to then have like another another way of controlling how this actually does work um let's get another oops don't want that one i'm just going to go back to d just get those now the corridor that we're going to end up having here is going to go all the way out to um essentially back out here where the where the depo can then be off to the side and the depot needs to be a 5x5 area we need to get the depot set up fairly early on so that's sort of okay i think and then what we might do is we might just sort of set up some storage areas back up through here as well just a small small storage room for um for goods that we can then sell at the depot all right that will then keep everything fairly fairly cool we'll just go in just put the markers back on again and it's until we get all this stuff built um yeah we'll come back to that afterwards so we'll allow actually i'll just go back to the markers again just go to d then shift m and we'll just paint over the top of all of this just so we're only building what we have to build so this is a depot depot layer trap layer there with with uh lava which will be fun uh then we come back down we've got the uh ramps for the for the uh for the carts uh they come around we'll have a we'll have a drawbridge in through here um probably keep this open i would think actually no we might have another drawbridge at the front there and so now what we need to do is really sort of get everything in fact what he might do is i might just block off everything above this so i'll just go to d uh shift m and we'll just toggle the um all of those actually the other thing just does the opposite so we'll just go with those this blue just means that we're not going to be building it so we build from here down all right and then we can just get started on the actual fortress itself oh wow thanks for the for the super chats there retired navy vet and andre much appreciated guys much appreciated i am using the um retired navy vet your uh your camera there as well so thank you very very much for that it's been great actually that camera i gotta say it's um it took it's it's weird because it's um it's took a little while to get set up on my older computer but uh now i've got a new computer it's actually really really effective so then that's all really really good anyway we've got um they're bringing different bits and pieces in so they're now building the different areas that we actually have now what i want to do is i want to sort of try to leave a gap of two floors between major areas so they'll be sort of digging down deeper into the into the oh hang on is that oh yeah they're still building there what is that day kite walls it looks a little bit like the um like what we had set up in through here but it isn't that is actually that's that's all doable so now what we need to do now that we've got this one established is we need to now set up our workshops so i will just um i will pause this for now while we just plan out the next phase of the actual fortress so we're going to have to have a few different sorts of workshops we'll just do the mundane ones initially so this is this is layer the first layer underneath our our entry layer is going to be here then the next layer down i'll make this into um into workshops so i'll just go back to d and um we'll mine out the stuff and i'll put a couple of doors whoops if i've done the wrong thing here just do x d i've got the wrong way around i'll just do one more click x there we go d and then a corridor that will run through this side now with the um by having a an area under directly underneath this this area i can then isolate this this area for safety and then ultimately sort of have like a whole lot of different areas that they can't get into so this layer underneath here i can actually use this for storage as well and so i might actually do like a three-tier approach for the um for the various um locations so for the various workshops so let's just get started with a with five by five rooms in through this side so that workshop in the middle and the reason i'm doing it like this is so that if we do get end up with like crafts dwarfs in particular they're going to need an area where we can block them off and so these will be this will be the actual workshops so we'll do a um we'll do these whoops i should just do it this way then just press x and just come straight through um bring this one down d now four is not really enough uh and i am now underground but how far underground i'm too underground there i can't actually i can make this go even even further if we wanted to let's just leave it there for now and so this is going to be our stone and uh and wood essentially will be will be stored in from here now i can do up and down stairs here and i think i might do that so i'm going to do an up down stair in the middle here so i'm just going to go across to i and just in front of each of the actual entrances just go and build one of these just go and put an entrance in through there just pressing the d key just keep it nice and neat all right that's our workshop with a stair that goes both up and down when we come back down into here i want to then isolate where these things actually end up going so i'm just going to go down into this area and um this is where we're going to be a little bit careful we make striker aquifers in here i don't think we will under the under the rock to be honest i really can't see that happening so um so we could do an upstair so that would be you actually where does that one go right there all right and um and then we go in a downstair here so we then end up with an area above and below so this will be um d so we just use j hang on where is it right that just gives us uh like access points i guess up into up into the different areas then what i'm just going to do is i'm just going to do a small amount of um of channeling off to the side and just do it this way and uh at this point we're not gonna we don't need to go too much deeper down that way and i'll just set up a um an area one two three four five six seven eight i'll just make it nine i won't go too much with this and i'll just do it on either side initially here and then we'll sort of get other other storerooms off to that one so three six nine that's fine where that is and then in the future we'll then add more coming back the other way so that's going to be for raw raw materials both wood and stone let's just let them continue building in fact what i might do is i might set this layer uh i might just go back into d and then shift m and just toggle building this stuff in the middle here that'll that'll be fine all right um okay so that means that they're not going to build the staircase and now they dig their way back out again now we're going to need to get a water source as well these are good actually these miners they've done very very well so brian's saying what graphics are we using this is a vettlinger pack um and uh uh vindicas has seen saying remember digging down one day falling into a cave just to get smashed uh to bits by now yes it's sort of one of those games isn't it we just have to sort of just get established and we need to we will need a water source so we'll have to probably make it my way down into the um into the bottom layers yeah that's good we've got one one area set up in through here initially so let's go and set up a um some workshops so what we want to do through here is um actually what is it it's not w it's burroughs is it c oops that's civilizations uh where is it building b then workshops w yep here we go so what we want to do initially is to set up now i will need to get a um uh like i should actually slaughter the beasts that took us here as well like right from the start because we're not going to keep them so what we'll do through this side is get the [Music] uh which way should we go with this which way should we go the uh it's either going to end up being the masons workshop or the uh or the or the crafts dwarf or the carpenters i think we'll start with the i think we'll start with the masons so we'll just go m now when you're looking at the different colors that you sort of see through here if they're colored a darker color it means that there's usually like a table or something where you can't actually walk around it this is important for when you do your forges just to know where where you can block things off so i'll just press that one there and and a site is right there so we'll just make make use of that one there this is a great pack actually it's a really great pack the vettlinger pack it's certainly um yes it's awesomely good now [Music] resume now once we get these workshop layers done uh we'll then go back in and and start to uh just get the guys mining deeper deeper underground and then we'll get a carpenter's workshop back over this side so we're going to isolate this layer completely and what we can then do is look at um at setting up all of our forges on the other side so we'll uh we'll just we'll plan for that i think um yeah i might i'll let them dig this out they haven't quite done that one but if we just go back into b then workshops uh and then we do carpenters so c and i'm just going to set that up up in here and make that out of hand to site as well make a craft dwarfs workshop in there so b w and then the crafts dwarf use r is it from memory yes it is it's funny how the uh muscle memory comes back so we'll throw that one into there out of andersite now this one here is built so we're going to add a new task and so we wanted to get some doors initially and we're going to need to get like a mechanics workshop as well so i'm just going to go d i'm just going to i won't set these up on auto just yet i'm gonna need a few of these let's get rock doors and resume started raining outside there we go it's great having the sound pack actually this this pack of um i couldn't get the other one to work but this one is working quite well now we've got the carpenters as well so we want to get them adding tasks and there is heaps of wood so we don't have to really worry about this one but we'll just make beds it's uh six seven there we go for the seven dwarfs now we don't have any wood storage in here just yet we'll come back for that one what's going on saying congratulations another bit of dwarf fortress 2 yeah no it's a great game it is one of the great games isn't it really so these financial workshops will be all that we need so they're building their doors now what we might just do just for a bit of security is just come back up the top and we're going to be wanting to put some doors in here so um this will be b then d and i can put this into planning mode so shift p it just means that all i can then do is do is i click click click click and click and click there we go so we're just going to have a that's six to six doors how do we how many did we actually select there so we've got a few there need a few more keep them open but this pack is really really looks good it's a great looking pack now we're going to have wood over this side so i'll be wanting to have stone over this side i'll just wait for this to be built then we'll get the mechanics workshop in here i think he's thirsty now we're going to need to go down and find some water or we need to go down and and figure out where we can get with the aquifer where the aquifer actually is we've been to we've our understanding is there is an aquifer here there's a good chance that it will still be out through this side it does go down a little bit more this way it may be more likely to have the aquifer down this way but it may be that we could end up finding one backing through this side as well there we go the doors are now in place or these ones are anyway and the beds have now been built so we can start to just get basic things established here we go so we can now just go back to build workshop and then this the next one we want to get is the mechanics workshop so t this will be quite important because we're going to need to get mechanisms quite urgently actually because we need to start building drawbridges to protect to protect our fortress now the next thing is that we have this layer here you know i sort of actually made this a little bit a little bit bad for myself to be honest what i might do is i might um this one is just underneath the that first layer let's actually let's continue on here and we'll make we'll just see if we can find the aquifer at the other end of this one we know it's only a slow aquifer so i might just dig um i'll dig a bit deeper now that's only four wide quite often you need a little bit more than this so if we just go and plan these out now they've dug all of this stuff out has this been built yes it has add new tasks we'll make rock mechanisms so we'll just go t and i'm going to put this on repeat and then i'm going to go to is it alt w workflow plugin is not enabled currently enable it yes so this is one of the df hack commands and now we're going to add the limit so shift a it's going to be mechanism of any rock and five and five to ten items i'm happy with that so the workflow constraints will just keep it between five and ten items not a problem so we're going to need these a lot in the fortress for the different trap mechanisms we're going to have so that will sort of work out fairly well uh let's try to find water just for like a bit of a water source we're going to need to as you might do that from a different layer i might do that from like we're going to have this is going to be another one of these ones where we end up with areas for storage it's going to be our main storage layer so i don't want to be doing too much on this one just yet just get this established and one two three four five six seven eight just make that into the same just so we've got the same patterning running through the fortress two three four five six seven eight nine ten get rid of that one there so ultimately when i open up those are the stairs they can then go back and build these storage both below and above this is the above this is the below um yeah they haven't been built yet that's okay all right so they're now working away with what they need to in there uh what we'll do is we'll this is a storage layer so the next layer down will make this one a bit more reusable so we'll just go back to d and we'll um mine these out and then we'll make a corridor that runs all the way across here now we'll be wanting to have this is where we might actually try to figure things out a little bit actually what i might do is i'll i'll come back out away from there and make this into a um oh hang on this is wrong this is wrong i need to go back into here dig that one out press the x key there um and then ultimately we might try to make this into a well uh well layer just so it's nice and and accessible although we need to have like a meeting area and we probably want to do that one even deeper down into the fortress yeah so what do we do here this layer here this could be the meeting halls just underneath the workshop and probably want to make this a kitchen layer actually we'll make that kitchen make then we'll have another storage area then we come back into this side we'll just go back into uh to mine the outside of this one and then we'll um we'll make this into into like the main meeting meeting areas i think and that means we're going to need to have like a well maybe we'll put the well right here and then we'll have the meeting hall after that one so just get to x and back to d again just start up there i think and we'll put columns so if we have tables tables coming off there chairs chairs that means we're going to need space which means we can put in one more area underneath it and we'll keep on growing out to the other at the other side and then we'll put columns in oopsie x not d so we'll just plan the um plan the start of the meeting hall and through here okay so this ultimately will be a um a well uh we hope if we can find uh if we can find to the um the aquifer so what we'll do is we'll end up down on this layer here so if this is as far as we got and we're going to need to have um you've got a few different things we'll be sort of building on these different layers so if we go down into this side do the up downstairs and through this way as well so just d then i up downstairs we'll just go a little bit deeper and be careful we don't go too deep otherwise we're going to hit that that other layer all right so they can just continue on digging down there as well and then we can have the bedroom layers down down that down that far but we're going to need to have like two layers where we don't do anything and then we're going to need to come back through and find the aquifer um what i might do is i might just dig straight out from here how far out do we need to go it's about right that's about right there i think so we'll dig down from here i think i'm just going to think about this um i do need to find this aquifer layer so let's just go and dig from here this is right out in the middle of nowhere so we'll do a downstair here let's go j where was it right there so j goes down to there then we'll do an up down stair um i can we're doing upstair there and hopefully that's going to all work and so if we do that well as soon as we hit damp i'll then sort of figure out what to do so i'm just going to go and press x here so that gives me two areas below yeah i'll need to figure out what to do here so i might just come back and just do x just remove that designation there all right so we'll just now go and watch what actually happens here and hopefully we end up with an aquifer everything else is looking pretty good yeah here comes the um the mule i might go and put a um a butcher's on the outside here and a tanner's on the outside as well just so we don't stink up the fortress so we'll just go to build workshop uh the now the tanners is in and the butcher says u it's funny i thought it was k got logs nearby and then the tanners is in there we go got a lot of wood there all right well let's go and slaughter an animal um so a oh hang on that's not what we want to do we want to cancel that task we want to go back to the actual beast that we actually have if we go go to units and have a look and see what we've actually got so i've got a pet some livestock stray mule stray horse so they're the two things that we want to be getting rid of everything else we can we can keep alive actually i better bring these other guys inside as well we actually better start to build some of the nest boxes we need to we need a few of those so we'll get this straight a stray mule stray horse and i'll just i'll just put some of the some of these animals into like a pen inside i'll put everyone inside actually so we're just going to go across to um uh which one is it is it m nope that's not it it is few units so v now if it's on it either z and then we have m no that's not it either down the bottom there p preferences ready for slaughter s okay so that one um because we can't keep these big animals we can only keep the small animals so that one's done that's the stray horse just go back to our units again and we'll go and zoom to that one so it's on the side of the mountain yes all right and then back inside again just to just get all the rest of the management sort of set up uh what we'll do is we'll just come back into here and just create like a a pen in fact we'll just go back down to this workshop layer and just give them some more tasks so build um where is it where is it where is it doors not seeing it there oh it's a crafts dwarf dwarf workshop that we need so add a task we're going to build it out of rock so g enter and we're going to make our nest boxes and we're going to put this on repeat as well and then alt w the width for the workflow shift a nest box out of any rock we're going to have a lot of rocks so we've got 5 to 10 which we don't need and so what i'm going to do is i'm going to do a minimum of a minimum of a minimum of say 2 i think so what i can do here is just go shift r and then just literally write out what it is so i'll go from two to three that'll be the new constraint so if we have three we stop building it if we have less than like if we have one or two we we get it until we've got um until we've essentially got the three built so that's sort of where we'll be uh that will work out fine now if we go back up again this is still not full at all like we've still got a lot of stuff in through here which is good we also need to so we'll set up a pin we might set up a pen in here so if we just go across to i get this this this stockpile started and i'll just initially just do like an animal pen just in this in this corner here up sing on i was now selected and this is going to be a pen or pasture so in and set pin up pasture information so shift n and we're just going to now put in all of the other animals but not the other two now the two will be killed off all right so that gets them inside gets and that gets them into some sort of safety now the mechanics is working away so it's in the mechanics workshop yeah we're doing that there do we have mechanisms looks like we looks like he's our mechanic as well now we're going to need to get food as well actually that's another thing that we're going to need to find but we need to have the muddy the muddy soil before we can really sort of work that so that's why we need the aquifer so the aquifer needs to be sort of figured out we're going to put in uh like we've got here is sort of like where we've got like a rock wall directly above us which means that i can just set up my my drawbridge here my first drawbridge back out this side so we'll just go back to um to build and then bridges are um is it g i can't see it there bridge bridge oh there it is g it is g all right so go back out to the top here and um just do make it it's just pressing the k key so a couple of times and then the u key so that's it that's exactly where we want it and then we have to have it so at the moment this isn't raising in any direction this is essentially just going to be a retracting bridge which is not what we want we want it to be a solid wall this is our this is our protection for the fortress so we're going to change this one so the ray's direction is going to be a so it's going to raise to the west and so that's going to be sitting right above where that rock wall was done and we'll make this out of andersite just go shift enter and so we now have a the first drawbridge we'll be wanting to get like a second drawbridge in here as well uh but i think i'll wait until i've actually got that one built before we do anything else and nobody's working this just yet and nobody's coming up to um to do the other bits and pieces so let's just go and have a quick look and see what we've got are they bringing the animals in there's the dog get in there you mutt get in there struck native gold okay we've found gold excellent so how far down was that down here on this layer or is it even further there i think nady fume gold this is going to be sort of the down near where we've got going to have the um the accommodation okay that's as far down as we got at this stage now i wait i won't keep on delving any deeper just yet we do want to have yeah we want this area set up yeah the strain mule has now been slaughtered that's good okay we've now stopped the uh the rock the rock nest product the production so we'll um we'll come back for another like an animal layer somewhere else so we'll just this will be just temporary holdings we could put we could put some nest boxes out for now i might just do that one now just go build the nest boxes are shifting and we'll place them there i can put this into planning mode as well that way as i get more of them they'll sort of appear needed five of them i think we'll just put six of them down there all right that's good and how are we going are we building this yet no we're not so they're going to slaughter this they're going to um they're going to tan this as well like add new tasks 10 height i think it just does it automatically yeah they've already done that so we've got the leather off the of those animals now they've put mule meat out in the open like this which is not what we want we want to have make sure that we've got barrels so a and into the barrels of v and this is going to be a a um a repeat task as well so we'll put this on repeat and we'll just do the alt w shift a barrel of any wood and five to ten items there's two spares okay that's not too bad so they will actually go and from this this area here shift d and we're not seeing that now why is that oh you know i need to um i need to put the depot in first don't i i think i think it's got to be built coming in for the gemstones i can't leave those gemstones out ah now they've done it ah it's not good enough not good enough at all okay well that's not what we want i need to find the aquifer all right aquifer is not different way of of getting our our water so let's just go all the way down down to about here and just hopefully we um we stumble across an area now the way i've set up the the world generation is when it does find a um an underground layer there's a fairly solid chance we're not going to find water there either so this could become quite a problem for us so popo popo poe is in saying uh hey damn it okay well this is not good um okay we're gonna have to go uh hunting here i think guys i'm just i'm gonna keep this open uh let's just see where we ended up where's our where's our way through that was in here it looks to be built all right so we've got a um this is a tower cap so we've come in it's coming right over the top of a um of of an area which is uh it looks like we could actually lock this area off if we if we needed to not very easily though all right we need to find a a weigh-in that's going to be fairly safe and secure like for example this little area in here that one's not too bad is it it goes down a ramp there any other little alcoves like this that we can see um that opens right up that's our best bet i think for um for just opening up an area down through here we do have to be a bit careful now that one there is interesting it sort of drops straight down and then it goes straight down into there which makes no that one's still not great in terms of using that one this one here is also not great that there is good that there is very good actually right there there's a few areas where it opens up into this little plateau i think we might make this the area that we that we make that we make use of and that way we can have like a fairly large-ish area if we wanted to and then build another um another drawbridge across the front there in fact if we go if we make this little area through here a three by three let's do this so let's go to mining this area out just do a three by three area back in through there uh when we look above there's nothing above and there's nothing below so this is actually really really this is really good for us and we'll just get us a small corridor that will lead into this now actually one of the sometimes it can be quite useful to have like a something that's three deep um i've got a two deep there actually that's a three deep there three deep with the with the lava right there you know that might be a better better option uh let's have a think about this if i get if i get it three deep i can then actually have like i can channel out arrow slots i think look in that that there works quite well as well in that capacity in fact that goes all the way up with a little entrance in through this side that works well even just to too deep there i like this yeah i think i prefer that actually that little that little alcove right there let's just go and dig this one out and um make a little too wide i guess let's shame about that one right there um we'll just go back up this side d then x yeah this one doesn't have arrow slots above above it so if we do actually have like a a beast we can then sort of at least we can start to do stuff against it from from in here so we can actually just have like the arrows above i can do the same over there this one is a it's a just a little bit small i guess but if we if we do it through here like if we actually make this the entry um so we'll have like a bit of a corridor through there and another corridor that will run back this way uh where's our where's our entry in here so we're gonna need to block this one off and it's always a bit of a it's always a little bit difficult to do this so i'm going to set up on this layer through here so i'm just going to go to dig now we'll dig all three areas down this way so this will be upstairs so we'll just go that's going to be you all right and that will be the only access point that we actually have down that way at this point in time then we're going to ultimately end up uh blocking that off then we'll just do another mining of this one out so sort of clean this area right out from here and then we've got um just make sure we get rid of that one the where are we with everything else so i've got everything around the wrong way at the moment uh where are we this layer yes we need to get down into this into this area through here just to work back our way backwards from here all right so here it is up in here so i'm getting a bit confused and um we'll just get a um a group through there as well actually wasn't that far back it's just to hear so we want to go up to here and then we have a small axis point down in this way all right so that's the middle of it right there so i'll make this into another stairway down so downstairs that will be j and just i'll just press the x key here there's also a bit of a weakness so we have to be a little bit careful in through this side that we're going to we'll have doors there i won't worry about doing um anything else there i don't think i think i'll just leave that where that is then we have up downstairs so you sorry i damn it damn it all right in that case we'll have just one stair come on screw it i've got the everything we're going to be able to quickly come back into this this area so that will be where we build the way down into that layer and then we need to block this layer off so to do this i'm going to have to what we've done like there's two layers um i did a thing on stairs once before there's basically a layer there's a floor layer and a an actual cabin layer and so when we've got an up-down stair like this we've we've got stairs going through both areas now i don't really need the stair going down in the bottom layer so i can somehow get rid of that or i can get rid of the stair from here now if i go to d and if i channel if i channel down i don't know if that gets rid of it i don't know if it does i think if i just go d and just go and double click it that doesn't do anything yeah i forgot how might just do is just go d then shift m we might just block that off for now and move our way up into here that way we can at least just get a common sleeping area so they're not sleeping on the ground i mean they've spent the whole of spring sleeping on the ground found silver it's warhammer it's warhammer stuff for us now we've got combat troglodytes okay a human is fighting um let's uh water down here no we still haven't found anything it's sort of like it's our big hope we really need a like a water source there's still maybe something back in here let's just go back up the top and um we better get the that bridge connected now was that bridge built yeah it is yep that's fine get back up to the meeting layer this is almost done as well that's which is good yep here we go so we're going to add a task we need to link a bridge so b and this one's going to be the cabin bridge a couple of mechanisms in there so we'll need to do that one because we don't want we don't want let's go and build a farm off one side and we need to then also then get the the still and the kitchen and all this sort of stuff working so i'll put the still in the kitchen in together um that will work and we think i need other other areas as well actually i'll change that make that one a little bit deeper make that a bit deeper just make this one come backwards a little bit now we do have a layer above what i might do is i might just have the down for the food so just go um i'll just leave this one as well i'll just actually place that one one in there one in there one there one yeah one in there and then x we'll get rid of that one and then the down stair so we'll just go um j we'll just come back down into this layer for storage and then the next layer down we'll make this an upstair so you and then do the um actually i'll just do this to start with and then we'll make this one upstair here here and in the middle there we go x just for neatness sake i don't need to worry too much about stuff and then we'll um we'll put some uh some storage in now that's seven eight nine let's do it the same as the others that's six seven eight nine there we go all right so this will this is not good this is not good she's really sick and tough and she's she's very she's very really sick and she's tough so that's actually good um will she survive this we don't know we do not know it starts off she she attacks the troubled diet to start with and then it misses they miss each other the troller does kick uh the bowman in the right hand with her left foot bruising the muscle okay that's not too bad attacks but she jumps attacks jumps away jumps away uh kicks the troglodyte in the right foot with her bruising the muscle again so that's just all bruising stuff um the human punches are troubling the lower right arm with bruising the muscle the force bends the the elbow the right elbow tearing apart the muscle and boosting the bone so she's actually done some big damage there that was good um then we've got the jumping away again jumping away bowman hits the troglodyte the ups and the toes uh just keep on going back down so we get to a point where the troglodyte's punching just making just bruising as it goes through misses the trouble of diet the chocolate charges the human bowman collides with the human bone and the human bone is then knocked over at that point so it becomes a bit weaker then the chocolate starts punching the human they say she starts stands up at that point what's her name again i've got a name anyway whatever her name is mrs misses punches that again in like the chocolate in the foot then we go to the next page just look for stuff so the trouble kicks the human bowman in the left hand with her left foot bruising the bone through the through the mitten the force bends the left wrist tearing apart the muscle and bruising the bone now does she drop what she has there ligman has been torn looks like she's still holding on i thought she may have started to drop some stuff she's kicking um she's punching but not she's not using her okay so um now it does scratch the right foot tearing the muscle through the high boot and and then the human bowman does fall over at that point she then punches so she's only been punching she hasn't been using any other sort of weaponry um okay so the chocolate bites a human bowman in the fifth toe right foot shattering the nail through the so broken the broken a toenail there the troglodyte latches on firmly at this point the human then punches a troglodyte in the head with the right hand bruising the muscle and at this point the troglodome has been stunned uh the force bends and neck tearing apart the skin um and it's the chocolate's still holding on there may be a couple of troglodytes at this point i think so the chocolate shakes the human bone around by the fifth toe and the seventh part sails off at an arc so that's where that's where she loses her toe uh we then cut i love how detailed this actually is [Laughter] uh let's um it's so then the troller then spits out the foot like spits out the toes uh and then and then bites the human bone in the left lower arm tearing apart the muscle now if we just press escape it's only the one trollidite i think no no that is the human bowman human bowman so this is seven pages of it yeah this is the same one so this is um so what is this is this the one that does it yeah we've seen this stuff i think i think we've gone past this punches yeah that's okay scratch is a human bowman as you know we haven't seen this this is still so there are two there are two troglodytes sort of that are fighting the human yeah okay this is the one that charged okay it's this one charged that and then she um this one didn't bite or did bite oh this is the one that did the biting all right so so we do the binding from here um it gets stunned uh yeah so the chocolate truffles in vain against the grip of the human bowman's right arm so it's in a headlock essentially then it just keeps them coming through yeah and it's just a massive fight at this point the passes out the troglodyte ends up passing out through exhaustion and then the human just keeps kicks the absolute living crap out of this troglodyte ends up biting its head [Laughter] mine just boggles you can sort of you can imagine it down in this cavern can't you with uh troglodyte that's now passed out in the human just kicking and kicking and kicking then finally just in frustration it bites the head trying to try to get through to the brain latches on firmly shakes the head around [Laughter] trying to bite through the spine must be the back of the back of the head so biting biting trying to get through this spine eating away um buying some trouble at right in the head you're tearing the muscle there we go if we rip through to this spine we'll bring this ends up giving away on that because it can't quite get through so it then goes back to kicking away again and then scratching as well scratching at the head regains consciousness but then passes out straight away kicking kicking biting just really going for this head here biting biting all the way through um tendinous skull has been torn um regains consciousness but passes out again jesus more pages so it's just kicking and biting relentlessly finally finally at the very end here it's um uh the human bites the chocolate on the head tearing apart the muscle so finally finally opens up an artery in the head like basically i'm i'm imagining the base of the spine hey groggy thank you very much there for that super chat i haven't missed any super chat so i've sort of i haven't been glancing across all that often very very much appreciated thank you for that i do have to get going very very soon unfortunately so anyway regains consciousness but then passes out from exhaustion so that's the end of that troglodyte the other troglodyte here is only got one page so this is actually still active this is the one uh no this is not when did this happen let's just zoom to this one here yeah this is still the same one all right so we've got um and we'll have a quick look at the units how many troglodytes are there it's still a fair few there's still five of them all right well she's not gonna last with this let's just um resume that one's running now there are we've got um that one's running away here comes another one bang we're back into it and another one coming in through here as well i'll speed this up a little bit we've got combat reports there's blood now this is troglodyte blood okay now how has the reports now come back through um this is this is the next troglodyte now fighting so chocolate punches a human bowman um attacks a troglodyte to tr attacks we're not seeing what this one's a punching but what's the what's the bowman using we're only seeing attacking uh okay that's wrestling it's wrestling so so rethought is it yells out i've improved my wrestling that was satisfying so she's now even though she's got a damaged wrist um missing all her front teeth her nose has been smashed to a pulp she's still wrestling on so we'll just now uh oh oh no she's right on top she's got a head probably got a headlock i would guess uh we've got this one now panicking looking at what's happening to its friend over through here if you have a look at the troglodyte this one is still yeah we've got we've got neck problems we've we've got we're working on the head working on the neck lower right arm left hand is has all been sort of uh damaged a little bit through this side look at the um that's the woundings we're looking at if we have a quick look at um at her at rethought um i don't know if we can do that actually no we'll just leave it there ah this thing's coming back in again so it's made a bit of a break for it now she is still she's now over exerted come on you can do it you can do it and what blood are we looking at oh it's our own blood a turret okay this thing is dodging in and out all the time uh oh large bronze cap this is not good it's not good is that more human blood it is damaged okay so let's have a look at the reports reports in through here we'll have a look at uh it's now page 10 so this is not good okay this is not good um so okay this is the this is the end the human bowman attacks the chocolatite but she jumps away uh the troglobites is punching away punching at the human um punches are chocolate in the left hand uh scratches the human bowman in the light right lower leg tearing the muscle the force pulls the right knee at this point the human bowman passes out from exhaustion troglodyte punches a human bowman in the head with her left hand so they then aim on the head to try to get the killing blow twist the neck tearing apart the fat grabs a human bowman by the right hand tries to remove the the the large sheep wool hood so she's trying to the troglodyte's trying to get to the to the head um of the human but the human has got like a hood as well as a bronze cap so uh gains possession of the hood so pulls the hood back then punches the human bone in the head again punch punch punch uh bends the neck and then tries to then grab the the bronze helmet because it realizes okay that helmet is um is stopping me from getting there gains from possession of it and basically then throws it away and it just keeps on punching away at the head so at this point we've got a we've got a um a human bowman she is um taking a lot of damage she's unconscious on the ground there is the large cap there's the large woolen hood there so the head is now exposed um let's let it go and it's just going to be time after time there won't be much else other than just this this thing splattering blood everywhere until eventually you get the kill still alive reports 17 pages okay we didn't regain a little bit of um consciousness there at times but this is um yeah she's just relentlessly taking damage here let's have a look and see how she's going exhausted faint the head and neck is not that bad that we can see anyway there's more troglodytes and of course while all this is happening we have an open an open area where they can gain access yeah okay that's okay we'll leave it where that is it can't last this troglodyte will eventually get there now it's worried now its own neck and head has it's now over exerted itself from from what it's been doing going back in though go back in for some more hits saying i'm sure the necromancer can save her yeah she's now thirsty yeah this thing just keeps on freaking out thinking oh my god what am i doing this human will not die she will not she will not die um she is thirsty she's pale unconscious and exhausted the damage is not that bad damage is not that bad if we have a quick look down her nose right shoulder left shoulder left elbow left yeah so she's she does take a lot of damage there this red stuff is the bad damage she's broken she's got broken ribs now uh her teeth have been knocked out her left eyelid must be super swollen um it's not it's not looking good not looking good here at all [Music] ah now no water source i'm gonna have to fix that but i have to get going unfortunately guys so i just want this thing to finish it off i think look we know what the outcome is going to be there let's just go back across to here um there's this there's a rock in the water yeah we definitely need this water source so um what we'll do here is that's sort of blocked off um go and build a well now is that just l l yes it is i needs blocks needs chains now the chains ropes ropes ropes ropes we're in a bit of trouble there i might have to leave that i think i might have to leave that because we're going to need to just do f2 and then come back up from there when in construction okay well that's not that hasn't been built well i'm sort of out of time guys unfortunately um so i'm gonna have to leave it here but um look thanks for being part of the uh the celebrations and actually thanks for being part of the history of the channel too actually i mean it's uh there's a lot of very familiar names that have popped up so um it was great to be able to uh live stream like this i've got to do this more often i've sort of been i've been worried about live streaming here on youtube because of the youtube algorithm because it really has knocked my channel around badly and i just i don't know what to do about it so i don't know whether live streaming because i think i think i might have done too much live streaming on youtube like a couple of years ago and i noticed that's when things started to go bad but i probably i could probably still do something and i really because i really do enjoy doing these live streams and um so i think like well how long have we been going this one yeah three and a half hours which is about right i think so i think we'll leave it here and uh but i will try to make this more of a regular thing i think so maybe once a week or something and just see what what that does to the algorithm but thank you very much for uh for taking part guys it's very much appreciated and
