GO GO GO GO GO GO GO SHAWTY
This is probably the most instantly recognizable hip hop beat this side of 2000 (maybe ever?). Every club song that has been made since comes with a little prayer from its recording label that it could be HALF as successful as this song. I wasn't even big into rap as a kid, but man did I know the violins, the thumping bass, and the handclaps that make this song so i c o n i c. 50's flow is perfectly suited to this, and while it probably didn't matter who jumped on this beat, 50 goes above and beyond to deliver a hook that'll go down in hip hop and music history
ISSSS YA BIRFDAY
I feel a little guilty for thinking this video is so funny... but only a little. It's basically some Jehovah's Witnesses using sign language to warn against sex and masturbation set to this song. Sue me, this video fuckin' cracks me up. It's one of the first things I ever saved on reddit.
Where am I
One of those rare instances where I prefer the clean/edited single version. I did get the Explicit version on Google Play recently for 69 cents (HAH!) and it's a timeless banger regardless but the unnecessary homophobic slurs are changed wisely. and "mama I got the X" sounds awkward in conjunction with "mama I got what ya need" but ah well.
Too bad Fiddy became a caricature but that's been the downfall of many rappers after getting into acting or past their peak.
