Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Did you noticed two frames at the moment of impact? One with little flash and another with same size 'black hole' ? :)
You start of by talking about a "particular physical phenomena" you wanted to see. Where you not able to capture the phenomena you where looking for? The video seems kinda unfinished, and cut short? I did see a small flash when th e .50 cal hit the glass, but you did not address that at all in the video.
Don't get me wrong, I loved thecthe video, but it seems like something I would expect to see on DemolitionRanch.
I love how you can see the bullet rotate in one of the high speed clips.
I wonder how smallest caliber round you could still see the rotation?
At 4:53 you can see the acrylic shattering, after the bullet has already passed through. Is this, because the bullet is super sonic, while the stress propagates at the speed of sound through the material?
Destin + Slow mo guys = some great viewing. I hope that partnership continues! Do you guys post the videos on both of your channels? Or do you agree before hand that this is for one persons channel only? Also, how does the pay work out? Do you give them a cut?
Totally worth the purchase of the gun, although I can't think of a bad excuse to buy a .50 cal. Great video!
Destin, I love how you use mirrors to place the camera in places it shouldn't be like underwater and in the path of a bullet. It's an elegant solution, effective and inexpensive.
Aside from videos.... what do you use that gun for? Doesn't really seem like a hunting rifle.
Acrylic? Not polycarbonate?
