5 Vietnamese drinks you can only get in Vietnam

whoa Max what you doing down in district one over by the saon center that's cuz today we're doing something different I've shown you eats and eats and eats and eats but today I'm going to show you how we drink around Saigon I'm going to work all my way around we're starting off with something right here we're across from the Saigon Center SS from like 8:00 in the morning till 3:00 p.m. uh but yeah we're going to show you drinks of s I'm going to show you everything special we got we start off right here making the bo cing by yourself yeah sure am this vck where where you come from USA and you you say in China very nice very nice nice to meet you call me Michael and you Max Max okay nice meet you byebye okay [Music] for yeah come on so so you can take so this is kind of a funny spot a lot of people you get like all the grab drivers right they'll sit on the back of their bikes and then they will kind of sit on their bikes get something to drink but they got little chairs out here yeah come on and actually like got their little bike right here as well with all their ingredients see if I can move their smoking stuff for a second just get me a taller chair here now I have to be honest I do not drink this that much she's yelling at me she she's like stirred up I'm like okay okay I got it stirred everything's good let's try it out oh and the reason when you hear about this drink some I'm I think a lot of people don't know about it which is fine but hers is one of the most popular for reason is I can actually drink that I usually don't like this I'm never like you know what I want today I want some s some I never I never think that I never feel that but hers like I can drink it's got a nice sweetness to it but there's something in it where it's usually just like really spicy right it's like almost like a peppermint spicy that I don't like but this is not too much now I got to put my camera down but you saw all the goodies she added in there we got the day that was more like a do bit so this is kind of like a meal and a drink together I mean like I said she put so much stuff in here look at all the things you can just pull out and try oh it's just so refreshing it's got this crunchiness no sweetness no flavor at all you just bite into it it burst with refreshingness kind like a little crunch of it too almost that's going to sound kind of weird but like the cartilage you get from like the piggy or something like that it's just got a nice little crunchiness to it and this right here the little black the Sun s you'll see this if you go to Vietnamese Market you'll see people aunties usually selling this right aunties are usually the older generation selling things like this everything that goes in here not too sweet refreshing I mean for a 30 plus degree day now it feels like it's like 29 I mean it's cooled me off completely that's right chat sorry little dark now this is co teen and she is one of the most her drinks resemble her attitude I mean it is just her personality is one of the best uh she is I say this about everywhere we go but she's probably the most famous chat in all of saon which is saying something cuz we have chatak on like every corner but man she is just full of energy we're in here out in District 10 kind of kind of Bing out on like thunp like we are way out here I got a little music so I'm going to have to speak kind of loudly but you can see she's got a huge menu here uh she's got like a oh she's making a drink for me now for yeah speee spee should didn't think I could do it all right we'll head here so they got a little seating area here been V on 4 years a first me a soybean mung bean peanut I forgot what all she had in here little little little uh we have to translate that I can't think of English this is the first for me I've never you've never seen a drink like this let's try [Music] it oh it's got like almost like a milkshake consistency to it [Laughter] okay yeah okay okay yeah okay this is one of the most beautiful tacks you're going to ever get right here look at that I forget what all she puts on this too so I'm sorry when I get around her you know you get around those aunties in Vietnam and they're just like so outgoing they almost like make you kind of like nervous and like and got giggly she does that like I can't think straight when I'm around her sounds like a love story now I told you I was going to show you five drinks if we stay here I may end up showing you 20 just in this one spot my goodness I came here for the chat the check now you can see she's got like this layer of ice right there on the top and it's almost not like slushy texture but you do get all that beautiful crushed eyes mixed with a J which you do not see a lot of places so that would be like the cumquat but to me what's interesting about this is it has more of just almost like there's like orange juice in it right it's a really tarte orange juice flavor and then there's some she's using something medicinal it's got a medicinal property to it as well [Laughter] yeah okay D yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah okay for [Music] Fore okay before I move on to the what sounded very fun this one I feel like I've at least got to finish one of these I don't know why those drinks like give me cocktail B I don't know why the other ones I was okay but when I saw this one I was like man feels like I'm at the bar got me a nice little cocktail drink going on here oh that's a lot of pelo come that yeah okay I'm going to crush this we're going get the CH to go funny story I don't know how I missed it I filmed that whole thing and I missed it she looked at my tattoos and she said don't get another tattoo oh wow she's like starting to look like a w cow like an ad I love this lady's personality she just makes me flustered I can't think straight when I'm around here no by for okay let's keep it moving moving wiyy [Music] Roy got you oh he's already getting it made I get so still out here district 10 uh we got je here he going to make us a nice little y so a lot of places actually have it like already kind of pre-made for you and it's already cold and everything we're going to get get the action right here that's why I came here he'll actually cut the coconut for you he's got a little extra so he'll actually get a couple cut little sugar goes in right there Stir It Up one little fact right there this isn't like the most people would get like on pasture street right with they're just lined up this is going to be a little bit different this is what I think of when you think like you fact to other people you add like all the jams and everything but he's getting it and making it fresh getting us that coconut meat boom right there hit it with ice yeah come on he's such a sweet guy I love uh supporting him we going the Vietnamese way like I said all these places you know like a lot of them are grab drivers a lot of them we're just on our bikes we're hanging out we're chilling well I'm doing the same thing but this to me is just like an old school original version and that's why I want to come here I wanna want to support Uncle as well show you something where you can kind of get like a an original taste I think my straw is broken hold on okay round two why is it not sucking works ah we have coconut water it's nice right it's who does it love a nice coconut cutting it for you fresh which I think that's so cool add just one little tack to it a little bit of sugar to me this is the simplest original I guess original version of a chatak when I think of it weird thing here right hear me out haven't been back to Vietnam in about a month it's been about a month kind of like the crazy just like motorbikes going everywhere somewhat like relaxing noise for me I don't know why maybe it's just me got to let me know I think kind of like all the motorbikes kind of relaxing and if you look in the bag or a spoon all right we're getting serious I'm squatting down cuz you get a spoon for the coconut [Music] me to me that's right where I like my coconut meat still kind of soft got kind of like that little like wet slimy texture on it but still got a nice little little chunk and bite to it that's what you're paying for right there expertise and Uncle picking the right coconut okay it's going to be our last one for today I this 10 so s down something somebody probably always thinks the right but there is a place in saon this place is like had every Vietnamese Tik tocker anybody makes short form content in Vietnam has been to this place and a lot of enemy celebrities come here when they want to on uh so you can see she got a huge menu she man I mean it's just a huge menu so so right now she's not busy and the reason I'm here when she's not busy is she gets that busy like I don't want to bother her and she was like oh you know come film when it's busy I was like I do not want to bother you trust me I know how busy she gets uh people at night really come here for the sud and the sud but what's interesting is she's also got up here so she'll do things like a chatak I mean you see the menu right here she's got her chatak right here uh Cho uh sir I mean they they make about everything here speee it would be so weird to have like a hul guy was so funny to me I didn't see this on the menu that's hilarious oh my gosh this is insane me yeah I don't know a so she's going to mix it with that this is actually going to be very custardy I feel like she kind of pretty much makes custard and there she's going to add it slowly adding going to almost temper that egg so yeah it's not going to scramble or anything fore fore fore okay we got to try this right here I mean I've lived in the last we don't have the I'm going to say we don't have it in the lat I'm going to go down a limb and say we don't have it in the lat cuz I've never seen this this has been a great day for drinks cuz I'm finding stuff that I didn't even know we had in Vietnam oh actually the egg like I said cuz she slowly added that down didn't scramble the egg kind of made it just is really kind of rich and you know it has to be good cuz I'm Inson drinking a hot [Laughter] drink yeah you interview them yeah yeah yeah they're very famous here really yeah famous Vietnam yeah they are yeah yeah they are yeah but how do you know how do you know because they're famous yeah yeah yeah yeah I [Music] mean I I know you speak good English so it's okay hly if you're a hot cocoa Drinker get the hot if you're a chocolate milk Drinker get the cold that's how I would do this okay [Laughter] okay they were awesome um that's going to do it for today but I told you I'd show you five and I want it to be five spots even it's been more than five drinks see it early I mean bright and early in the morning for our last spot going to be a little dark we here early the sun's not even really risen yet but last drink I wanted to show y'all traditional Vietnamese coffee so they got the sock and they're going to pull it right here on the side of the road instantaneous actually was funny is the guy driver the bus came here put out his thermos right there there goes the thermos and he got a coffee to go so even on this little cart right here what's cool is back down in here I don't know how well y'all can see but back down in here they still got charcoal going and it is dark this morning sorry so this is just like I don't know if you remember the video when I went to like l s and you saw very traditional Vietnamese coffee being made I've done it in District 5 but you can even get it here District 3 we're on a major major busy road too and so people will just drive by and get their coffee to go traditional style they got the firewood ready to go see there's that fire Cafe a p yeah here there he's going to filter it through this stck right here and so he'll let this sit here he'll drip you'll see him pull it up so it's really interesting right he's got these right here on the ledge and so they'll buil that water had the cafe mixture in it already like the ground up beans he'll pour the water letting it Steep and then he's got his other ones with a socker in it already and then he'll actually strain it through the sock and then they'll just have these ready to go so it to kind of sit there there they pour it they add the cesa they mix it they pour it to go and you're on your way so it's kind of a cool little setup so they're going to get busy right this is definitely like a grab and go so many people live on the outskirts of Saigon right and they're coming City Center go to work so they'll get super busy uh it's about 6:00 right now so about 6:37 they're going to get super busy when to get in here and try a nice little traditional bites coffee start my morning and uh get drink before they get too busy come on and just how we always do it on the back of a bike I think it's the first ever traditional made Vietnamese coffee I've ever had on paper clap to go look at the writing he's even got like through the old school Saigon font on it oh man it's the way it's the way it's roasted I tell you what that just it's a special taste and something different so that's why I wanted to show you because everything on this drink video is either been something a little bit different something you never seen before or hopefully like something traditional like this that maybe a little more open for everybody to come get it's easier to find of course as always the addresses are in the description box I hope youall enjoyed it that's going to
