five tips to make you faster in ACC let's do it alrighty so so Trail breaking breaking plate pressing the brake into a corner as hard as you can and then gradually releasing the brake as you approach the Apex now once you get really good at this you're gonna be able to release the BR you're going to be able to put maximum pressure onto the brake as you come into the corner release the brake gradually and then be able to release the brake completely just as you hit the eight pack so you're ready to throttle out and once you master that technique eat the lap times just come down it is just a massive difference what is the point of Trail braking you might ask well the whole idea is just is to try to keep the weight down on the front tires uh so therefore we get good turn in now there is some cons to that as well because if you keep the brakes on too much and keep too much weight over the front tires what's going to happen is you're going to end up not having the maximum amount of cornering uh that you're looking for all right now let's forget Trail breaking all together let's let's do it the online Lobby way let's just go for a gap and let's use everybody else it's probably the most effective way guess you missed it the first time this is the online right let's just use everybody else and you can see how effective it is oh we lost the position though oh there's a gap let's go for it on the right so look at that see it it works right so now I've caused a traffic jam and now I can gain an advantage all right so the brake throttle overlap very helpful for Corner entry stability and very helpful for Corner exit stability as well like they're very unstable here's a perfect corner for this you can even do it mid Corner a little bit of break a little bit of throttle and it helps you can see that the back end wanted to turn around on me there a little bit but I was able to keep it perfect corner here too [Music] excellent for a track like kyleami brake throttle brake throttle you'll see that the top guys do this quite a bit everybody has a little bit different driving style obviously but again I can't really explain how much or how little to do it it's a feel thing for a card come into the corner a little bit of gas to stable it at the at the Apex [Music] I know we come this is an excellent corner for this method here this section actually is fantastic for this [Music] simply cannot get it right in McLaren I'm gonna use the Ferrari hopefully you guys are getting the general gist of it [Music] right there it's perfect Corner exit there oh I spoke too soon let's smoke too soon I promise you it works throttle break nonsense we don't need any of that an online multiplayer we just go for the Gap all the way down to the inside and just use absolutely everybody see he was there to stop me from invalidating my lap we're going to use this guy as well for that card on the right yeah see he got in my way there he didn't understand that I needed to do a uh a proper exit there he just got in my way all right to master the perfect Pit Stop uh we have to bind a few Keys okay number one uh the one key that should already be binded is your camera key uh so like just to basically change the view um I think it's C I think default is c um and then the other two are very simple um if you have a steering wheel with multiple buttons on it's fairly simple if you don't have a steering with multiple buttons on it you can do it on your keyboard as well either way as long as it's accessible and easy to get to uh while you're driving so number one is the ignition basically I have it set down here um so it kills the ignition kills the engine power done okay and then the other one obviously very important we have to start the car so we have to have the starter uh uh bound into a key all right so pit stops accelerate down to the line get below 50. make sure you're in first gear that's the biggest thing okay now we're gonna change the camera view to our Hood View all right find our pit box be ready to kill the ignition super important the second you stop the reason we want to do this like this is we can actually see the arrows stop ignition off and car goes up done you can see here that we have eight seconds of damage was on my one lap I did I crashed but either way you can if you don't want to fix your damage through a uh through a pit stop you can just uncheck Mark these as you go all right but as we're waiting here let's get back to a regular camera view I want to put the ignition on and then with a few seconds to go hold the Throttle Down full throttle and then we can already press and hold the starter button that way the second they drop us we're off and that's it Pit Stop Perfection this can save you so much time in a race when I when I first started this game I was really bad at bit stops and I lost quite a few races uh just basically on the pit stop you can lose seconds tens of seconds if you don't do this right so uh practice takes a lot of practice to get it right now why did we use the hood cam basically if we use this uh this view right here if you drive multiple different cars your your perspective is going to be a little bit different with the pit board and you're not going to know exactly where to stop so watch out see depth perception all of a sudden I'm in the pit board oh I didn't turn it off there you go and you can see when you screw up a pit stop there that was what an additional I don't know five eight nine seconds I'm not sure but it was definitely more than what we want to uh do now another thing is that I like to use I like to use automatic pit limiter uh uh most series that you race in you should be able to use automatic pit limiter it just takes that out of the equation just make sure uh you're always in first gear because if you're not in first gear the auto pit limiter will not work so here let me show you so off we go so we're limited I'm gonna shift a second instantly exceeding and then we get then we're going to get a penalty get a car pick that car get to know that car master that car switching from car to car because someone tells you this car is faster or or whatever is probably the worst idea that you possibly can do oh here's a typical uh Nurburgring uh first Corner pile up all right come on guys let's go let's go all right there we go I've been playing mostly with uh mid-engine cars that you really can throw those into a corner uh and uh so when I jump from one mid end car into another one I can learn a little bit more quickly but here I picked uh the BMW it's a front engine car it's a nice car I mean there's there's no doubt about it some people love front engine cars these this car is actually pretty quick here at Nurburgring but I am not used to front engine at all because you can't really at least at least the way I feel it you can't really throw these cars in you're more or less driving the car with the front end and uh uh and that's not really my driving Style and I also find too that the second you step on the gas pedal with one of these they really like to kick out one nice thing about a front engine car though is they are very they feel slow which is good because it gives you a little bit more confidence when you when I when I drive in a mid-engine car typically because they're a lot closer to the ground it feels like you're flying all the time like you're going really fast which makes it feel like you don't have a lot of time to react to certain situations so so pick a car that you like try different ones don't just do two or three laps see which one you're the fastest in on multiple circuits right like some cars are definitely quicker on some circuits than they are on others all right and you'll notice that some cars will be able to be a little better over the curbs uh some cars have better straight line speed some cars get out of the corner quicker some other cars have a better top speed like for instance the Ferrari has an insane top speed but it can't accelerate to save its life okay so me I was with uh I just started playing before five months ago now again and I decided to go with the Honda to start with and that car was very difficult to drive I I found it suited my driving style but once the update came uh they kind of killed that car a little bit it's so quick you know in the right hands but definitely not as quick as some of the newer cars so I went with the Ferrari because uh it drove really easily there wasn't a lot of oversteer a lot of that wasn't a lot of understeer but one I started to not like that car mainly because of its starts uh even though you can do the brake boosting uh thing to uh to do better starts but I I don't know I started to really fall out of love with it mainly because if it starts I was losing sometimes one two positions at the start and then I was uh uh and then I was [Music] um and then I was battling with cars that were slower than with me for the first lap which are then and in turn the cars in front of me that I should be battling with uh they were driving away from me and by that point I couldn't catch them anymore so I started uh driving with McLaren a little bit um as you probably noticed in this video I use the McLaren for a lot of it I'm still learning the McLaren like uh part of this video is me figuring that car out so I figured I'd use it to make the video um but this BMW is great too like I I can talk I can drive I'm probably not going to have the fastest lap time in the world but that's okay but it is nice to drive but you have to figure out the shift points and then once you master a car you're gonna know exactly what to do with it and set up in setup situations you're like in qualifying you're like oh I got to do this I got to do that to get ready for the race whereas with this car I have no idea what this car likes you know does it like Mortal less tow does it is it like a softer suspension a quicker you know all those sorts of things okay mindset practice keep in mind you can do it you might think oh maybe I'm not talented enough for for this or that yes you are you can do this this is a video game it's just honestly it's just practice all right recently I was watching an lfm Pro Race on one of the bigger streamers uh uh streams and uh there was a guy in the top 10 or top 12 in lfm Pro in split one using a game pack now if you can use a Gamepad and be quick at this that just tells you that this has nothing to do with driving all this has to do with is like every other video game learning the game learning the nuances of that game figuring out you're on the left what the game wants what is the what is the proper line what is the ideal line that the developer has put in to make the fast lap all right now Sim racing has really humbled me now I I raced for 32 years I raised everything from go-karts quite competitively I raced race cars I've raced different types of race cars uh formula cars formula bees formula boards got a little bit of touring car racing uh I've kind of done I've kind of done a lot of it and uh in 32 years and this is not bragging this is just putting in perspective that you can do this in 32 years if I had good equipment and I had equal car or at least a close to equal car I was usually in contention for a win top three in contention for the win and this however Sun racing is ex very humbled me because when I first started I couldn't believe that these guys were so much quicker than me I mean the top guys are still quicker than me they're about a second to a second and a half quicker than me on Raw pace and um I'm working at it I'm trying to figure it out I I've really had to convince myself that it's okay that I have to learn this this is just like playing Call of Duty or uh Counter-Strike or whatever the latest and greatest other video games are right now and eventually you will get it and I've already seen a massive Improvement so like some tracks um I can get within eight tenths of the top top guys and again going back to the controller situation that one guy he's racing on a uh he's racing on a video game controller and he's quick right and I think I think another I think Giardia did a video a few years ago using just wanted to see how fast he could go with a joystick you know like like a Flight Simulator joystick and he was doing like I think 143s around kyalami which obviously is not fast but like if you think about it 143s with a freaking joystick I mean you there's no way you could control a car with a joystick and be quick I mean um but in a video game obviously it's possible you know and I put a little more food for thought most of those top level Sim Racers who race an ACC and the SRO Esports most of those guys haven't even sat in a race car before and look how quick they are right like I mean they put in the time they're very very good I mean when I watch these guys it is just picture perfect but tell yourself practice when you start to get frustrated put it down go to sleep try it again tomorrow give yourself a break and then the next day you wake up I can almost guarantee you you are going to be a little faster alright guys well thanks for watching the video If this video helped you in some small way uh please consider uh subscribing to the channel leave a comment leave a like it really does help and I hope you got a little bit of entertainment out of this um may not be the best video in the world so I wanted to make a quick short and concise just easy things that you can do to get yourself better at this game so uh or even any racing game uh for that fact okay so um yeah thanks for watching and uh we'll see you guys on the next one okay guys have a good one [Music]
