oh geez [Music] I'm so excited right now that's how it makes me feel good morning ladies and gentlemen from here in Los Angeles another episode but this is a very special episode because I have a very special sidekick with me today what's up guys does she look familiar to you guys ride here today we're gonna hit up a bunch of spots starting out at tacos Iberia La Unica one of the most recommended places by you guys in the comments across all different platforms so we're gonna go there first and then we'll see [Music] all right here we go first stop first Taco of the day this is birya De chivo this is a great breakfast taco you have the crust on the outside of these tortillas you got the chivo which is goat got cilantro onions and the hot salsa that's made up right on the bar out front but I'm so excited to dip it into the Scandal first of all I want to take a bath in here yeah you know what's so fun with her here is she can actually tell me what's in things it's like a chewable broth that they just cooked trapped in there it's usually Amateur hour with us eating this food so it's nice to have actually a refined palette with us today for tacos all right let's get in here all right I like to get real aggressive oh my God that cheese is so good on there and honestly the beauty of the chivo is so much richer than the beef jivo is the traditional way to have the biria and it adds just such an earthy taste to it yeah this is breakfast I'm excited I literally went and chugged this every time just like a little yeah you gotta drink a little hit of it oh my God there's so much flavor in this these shells the tortillas so good they're fried in the same consume in the same oil oh my God they have a crunched one yeah they're soft and crunchy and like the consistency is so balanced the ultimate combination yeah it's not soggy at all 10 out of 10 for me honestly I really like it where are we gonna go from here all new tents maybe you're right oh no I just love this it's so good great stuff in there yeah great tacos first stop 10 out of 10. guys stay tuned let's see what happens next [Music] all right next up we had to come see all the ladies here at Carnitas El Momo it's the recipe of their grandfather correct you guys all want family yes you're all cousins yeah so we're right here at an unsuspecting little shop unsuspecting little spot along the side of the road off of Fairmount and under this awnings you will find Carnitas goodness and that is a family that has been doing it for Generations three generations just here in Los Angeles alone enough talking what Hispanics do we just sit in the backyard and eat like this is this is real life authentic this is authentic right now right now all right so at Carnitas obviously the main ingredient is the Carnitas which is the shoulder in this location and they also have the skin and the belly but this my friends is the main attraction [Music] they give you a lot of meat too yeah like they don't skimp here and I appreciate them for that I'm gonna do a little garnish on there can't forget the lemon I'm gonna add some soaps too oh my god dude I'm so excited right now look at that bad boy That's Heavy it's like the the weight of the media beauty is usually pretty I think that's also because of the consummate Cheers Cheers oh my gosh so again there's no words running those are my favorite type of taco and this is one of the best I've ever had wow yeah this is definitely the top I've ever had for sure oh my gosh the meat is just falling apart yeah they do not skimp on this the flavors there you can tell that they just marinate it for hours probably days to be honest and they run out yeah so people come here you know it's legit because people come and just buy it by the pound yeah so not even just tacos people come for tacos all day but they also just sell it by the pound so you can come in and get it and once they're done they're done and I love that limited edition so get here early and that's salsa too it cuts through the fattiness but it's not overwhelming that is so good like Chipotle yeah there's like definitely some like herbal chili in there it's like very smoky so Chipotle yeah for sure let me boom some vinegar yeah it's it really it does really well with the taco because Carnitas is so salty so the salsa really like Cuts back and like balances everything so that's good man the block knows what's up even the Trashmen come here to eat it's amazing you know it's a good spot when the garbage guys are pulling up in the mid route to get some carnitas tacos and just throughout the neighborhood The Echoes of The Chopping of the carnita meat so you got that fattiness and the saltiness of the Carnitas the shoulder meat and you can also get it mixed so you can get skin and belly mixed in with the shoulder that just gives you a little bit more texture a little bit more flavor a little bit more fattiness but this shoulder me carnitas with the hot sauce the onions the cilantro yep if you guys want some authentic La tacos in an authentic La neighborhood man it doesn't get better than this [Music] so next stop of our journey we are in downtown L.A just downtown right yeah this is like where you would see Los callejones it's like you see Street vendors it's the heart of L.A I've actually never been down to this section of downtown you have it was actually a very interesting ride from 7th street from where we just were you get down and you have all this beautiful graffiti and all these incredible murals and then next you get these encampments these tons of homeless people and and these you know makeshift setups and then you get immediately are hit by all these flowers in the Flower District and garments so it is a microcosm of LA on one street and now we're over here at a spot that is definitely one of the most requested most suggested spots and that is Sonora town and it's a hole in the Y you miss you end parking as a nightmare so even if you do know about it you'll just like you know maybe another time let's go inside so incredible in here [Music] let's see another good tortillas they're literally making them [Music] all right here we go downtown Sonora town we are in the mix there are noises there's beeps there's yells there's stuff everywhere but at the same time there's all the action going on in this Taco oh man we got carne asada we got pinto beans the Sonora style we also got the poblano chilies on top some cabbage on there and of course salsa here we go let's do it cheers as I just dripped oh my God whoa wow you get instant Smoky now you can tell that it has so much smoke flavor in there oh my God this pepper so you can add on wow so you get the carne asada taco as is it comes with the beans but you can also add on the roasted chilies that's a that's a guaranteed special right there actually Daffy told me to do it it's the right way to do it amazing fresh tomato salsa on here too a really good kick from that but man you're right that charcoal that carbon flavor that just permeates everything and the flour tortilla is a perfect platform to do it all the tortilla like the fact that they only give you one it's just perfect because sometimes you get lost in translation with two corn tortillas the fact that this one is with flour it has enough like girth I don't know if that word is correct but it has enough girth to where it's not gonna break and you have so much you have the carne the salsa the pinto beans everything and it doesn't break it's freaking delicious guys if you can find the parking if you can deal with the chaos it's worth the trip down here you come down here you get some carne asada tacos you go get some flowers and then go buy your quinceanera dress also coconut milk horchata so good it's light sweet cinnamony yeah white doesn't linger you know how horchata when it's made like the authentic way it's so thick this one's light and you know the fact that they have flour and a light drink it balances well so you'll go you'll come back for more about door intro for stop number four this is Tacos Baja Ensenada style tacos how's your hunger level I can still keep going you're going strong yeah are your pants getting tighter nope they're still loose I got some random [Music] foreign [Music] we went down to Ensenada for this round and these are the Baja Fish Tacos so you can get them with shrimp and fish together and they're served in a flour tortilla but these ones are in a corn tortilla because they're a little bit smaller with just the fish wow this is going to be delicious I can already tell them you know by the looks of it you know see the color in there golden brown that was a good cheers oh yeah wow that is so light that fish and the batter is so light it's so light you can't even tell that it's battered honestly it's kind of soft I need a little kick a pickled onion round it out yeah I think just rounds out I like that Pikmin juice too it's very subtle a lot of oregano in there do you taste it it's good I like it I'm gonna try this shoeline oh that's gonna be good it just uh smells like a roasted bell pepper to be honest [Music] uh-huh no okay tasty it's like a really tasty pepper oh the seasoning is great no what was that what's on there what's that oil it must be like cumin and like onion powder smoke just a delicious little accoutrement with the with the Baja Taco oh and there's a little bit here comes it's coming afterwards up my you know menchile I got like hit by the spice you got hit yeah it got me [Music] guys Baja Taco Ensenada Style chuck all right daff as we walk to our next location I want to know all about Hell's Kitchen what was that experience like Hell's Kitchen was intense or so I imagine having Gordon Ramsay there screaming at your face it was an honor yeah the good and bad like I was like yes throw stuff at me you know like it was a very hard competition what do you do you're there for a whole month you don't really get to see your family or friends like you're just there competing you don't have any sort of books or notepad you kind of just have to go based on what you know as a chef which is intense it's like the Olympics of cooking honestly and how do you feel like you did were you happy with your fish definitely congratulations thank you to all the Immigrant children that came here to make a better life for their family please don't ever give up keep going hustle work your ass off and I promise you it'll be good to you so many thousands of people wish they could be there and I got second place you know like I was able to pretty awesome like stamp that into my resume what was the process of actually getting on the show lots of interviews background checks make sure you don't murder anyone it's an intensive three-month process of you being interviewed for two hours and you even like take physical tests and all that stuff they checked like your hair follicles everything you can't be a meth addict oh my God like it's crazy for me that got second place I sold kind of won and I get to live life yeah you know it was a great memory I want to just keep creating new ones so what's your current nine to five I'm currently a private Chef or a businessman who's very successful in the industry so I get to travel with him and I cook for him and his family and Malibu and like all over La so very blessed to have that I get to shop and like be creative and cook lunch and dinner and still have a life speaking of her day-to-day job what do you guys think about going and following Haram for the day and do a day in the life of a private Chef for a billionaire you guys think that's a good idea if you do leave a message in the comments because we are thinking about maybe filming that that's Hell's Kitchen that's Daphne's story well a very short version of it next spot you ready yes I can keep eating let's go all right let's go foreign all right we followed the smoke to stop number five and I'm very excited about this we're right on Atlantic Boulevard there is a full-on parade of meats coming down here so it's different stations all the way down the place is packed it's Sunday afternoon my Hunger level dipped for a second and now I just shot right back up I think we start down there [Music] so one of the things that my old boss would do for me to be faster at cooking is to burn my fingertips on the crunchy on the flat top just put your hands there and obviously you can tell it works this man's using his hands to grab things it makes you a fastest Chef you don't feel the pain anymore you look badass what else could he want don't quote me though but it works for me and for him too it is so hot man how are you doing this hello look at that I got no hair on my arms left all right our fifth and final location of the day tacos and we have oh man where do we start first the costillas so the ribs we have three of those and it looks like they put the same Pastor seasoning on there yeah looks like the marinade pastor tacos obviously uh carne asada and then also a chorizo I think we gotta start with the Costilla wow oh my God we're going at how wow this is really messy oh my God grilled pork ribs with the salsa onion cilantro and the guacamole with a fresh and fresh corn tortillas the texture of the pork is spot on like the guy literally was grilling it and grabbing it with his hands so it has some skin in there you know I don't know how the right way to eat this but you just yeah it is a little hard to eat I'll tell you that this is like the kind of food you want to eat after like a celebration you know but wait we have more salud yeah this is the pastor great balance with the salsa the spice of the rub and that sweetness from the guacamole yeah yeah messy hands means good tacos guys oh that's good ladies and gentlemen that has a wrap hope you guys enjoyed the video make sure you go check out Daphne she's scheduling over on Instagram Hell's
