drinking game every time I say Keita buddy take a shot everyone today we are going to talk about five tips for the Kido newbie I think there in no particular order they're not even top five tips they're just five tips that I wish the money and told me or some of my friends probably wish that someone had told them before they get started because it stops your progress or it keeps your progress from being as fast and I use some of these will just help you succeed so let's get right into it the first tip is to remember that the ketogenic diet is not a low carb diet these are two completely different things so the ketogenic diet means no wheat no sugar no grains no seeds no potatoes not even sweet potatoes although some people will say that you can carb up with sweet potatoes I don't do that but some people do but that's technically not ketogenic have been gross below the ground it's not considered ketogenic the ketogenic diet is not about losing weight it's about eating foods that are not inflammatory to your system and some of the main ingredients and a lot of low carb foods are still inflammatory just like wheat and flour and sugar there are men the devil goes by many names okay so make sure you are looking up the ingredients on the back of things which brings me to the next tip labels labels labels labels labels I got my dogs I've decided that they would like to have a lists because that's the most important thing here it has not macros so important kind of but they are not the most important thing when it comes to a key to Jing diet the ingredients are what makes the ketogenic diet the best way of eating I hate the word diet and everybody keeps calling it a diet whatever way of eating is what I'm saying these dogs I'm so sorry hold on okay so what I was saying is what makes people successful on the ketogenic diet more than any other way of eating is the fact that they're cutting out inflammatory products and ingredients so please for the love of God the first rule of cuticle M is check the label the second rule of kyudo Club is check the label products are sneaky big food is sneaky for example even if you are not eating weight and you're not doing that getting tricked into the low-carb thing keto products sneak in ingredients that aren't ketogenic like stevia in the raw has dextrose in it which is a sugar oh all the mayonnaise that is made with avocado oil or made with olive oil if you turn it around it still has soybean oil or canola oil vegetable oil which all of those are not cute ajaita because they are highly highly highly inflammatory so do not be misled by big food they're not here to help you they're here to sell a product and Chris they're gonna put olive oil on the front because that's what you're looking for but that doesn't mean it's exclusively made with olive oil it just means that olive oils in there and it might not even be the first ingredient it might be the fifth or six so just be very very careful with things that are not real Whole Foods and when I say that I mean like a steak the steak is a steak there's meat in there and that's its main pack so next tip is heavy whipping cream it's not zero carb it's not even though the label says zero carb that means that there are zero carbs per serving that's misleading isn't it yeah good old heavy whipping cream that's one of those things that a lot of people really like to talk about with ketogenic Mills are in your keto coffee I love heavy whipping cream heavy whipping cream is fine but you have to be aware that if you use a certain amount of it the carbs are gonna start adding up okay so there's point six grams of carbs per tablespoon pretty sure if not I'll put the correction over here but I'm pretty sure it's per tablespoon and so what that means is that you are getting carbs when you're using heavy whipping cream so don't go crazy and don't drink it you know by the cup that's not okay it's going to catch up with you so there's that macros okay people get really really obsessed with their macros here's the thing macros are not the most important thing with the ketogenic diet are they important they're important they're not the most important thing if you're eating quality foods and you're eating real foods then more than likely you're going to eat the macros that you as a human are supposed to eat I don't count any macros except for my carbohydrates and really I don't even count those anymore because at this point I'm pretty much know in a day what I eat is going to be under 20 grams of carbs which is where generally I stay under 20 cars sometimes I'm thirty I can do more than that that's me every single god that's the next tip we'll get to that in a minute so what I'm saying is you know the phrase and parts of the Caribbean where he's like they're not really rules they're more like guidelines macros are more like guidelines you don't have to hit your fat macro every single day you don't have to drink MCT oil or eat six fat bombs for forbidden text you shouldn't to hit your fat macro fat is the macro that we are using as a tool to stay satiated and to heck our body to believing that we're full and to retrain all those bad habit that we've gotten when we eat the standard American diet so just remember eat a protein ate hey you know if you're eating a meat at every meal you're gonna hit your protein macro probably car macro for me it's definitely not something to hit it's a range that I stay under I don't hit 20 grams of carbs every day sometimes I don't hit 10 cars today if I'm eating carnivore for the day and eating a bunch of eggs and steak and bacon all day long but the main one that you probably really do need to hit is your protein when do you make sure you're getting enough protein especially if you're a woman and your hair is falling out cuz I get that a lot my hair is falling out oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god it's gonna be fine promise all right so this is alright so there's a bonus because it's gonna be six actually not five but whatever it's time so we'll start with five and then I'll give you the bonus money so number five is find a keto buddy find a keto buddy and real live fun one online it doesn't matter where you find your keto buddy just get a keto buddy because drinking game every time it's a keto buddy take a shot mm-hmm anyway this way of eating is hard to start if you don't have any support especially if you're the only person that is doing this diet or way of eating in your home you're gonna get a lot of crap about it probably and that sucks when you're trying to become a better you you need support and you deserve support so sometimes husbands suck sometimes friends suck not ready to hear that what they're eating isn't the best thing that they could be eating or the best thing that could they could be feeding their kids or whatever and they're gonna be offended and give you some crap about it and that's okay I mean it really is let it go eventually they're gonna say that you lost 25 pounds and that you have way more energy than them they're gonna be like um so this cute little thing how do you do that then you can talk about it and then you can have a keto buddy that is your friend but don't hold your breath for that in the beginning because it's probably not gonna happen find yourself a good ketogenic group online on Facebook follow somebody on Instagram there's tons of cool people on Instagram that are very relatable and down-to-earth that can give you a little boost on the days that you don't feel like eating the way that you should be eating or if you feel down in the dumps because you fell off the wagon and you just want somebody to talk to it's definitely one of those things that I think everyone needs so I will link a few of the Facebook groups that I like in the description below also I'll link some instagramers that I'd love to follow know and some youtube channels that I used to watch well I mean I still watch them but when I was beginning I watched them - okay so the last tip this is the bonus chip is Aikido is not one-size-fits-all this is not something that everyone is going to do the same in fact I would be so so shocked to see two people standing in the same room that eat exactly the same money to have success that's just not gonna happen because genetically and biologically we are made completely different from each other what my body thrives on your body might hate I can eat more carbs than my husband can eat if he eats a Brussels sprouts every day he doesn't feel great I can eat Brussels sprouts all day every day and feel just fine one of your friends may be able to eat keto cookies and not be affected by and you may be able to eat keto cookies - or those cookies might throw you into a slippery slope back into the old way of eating you have to know yourself it's a process okay you're not gonna know this right off the bat but you will eventually keep on keeping on and you're gonna find your happy place and you're going to find where you know your body is okay and you're doing fine you're doing great the fact that you're watching this video means that you're already you know succeeding because you're putting in the effort to educate yourself and figure out why your body needs to eat real whole truth foods that you can thrive on and live live your best
