5 Favorite Performances by Morissette Amon

maui netix it's your friend tommy mars here today's video this is what i'm doing in honor of morrissette's birthday today happy birthday maury i thought i'd take the time to break down my five favorite performances so far from ori that i have covered now obviously these are only performances that i've seen of her there i know there's a lot more and you know if you've been following me long enough on here you know that i'm gonna get through every single more performance that's my goal i want to see every single performance more set has ever done so that will happen on this channel at some point of the 20 or so episodes that i've done of morrissette i figure i'm going to give you my five favorite performances now this is really hard because i thought they were all good i also had to do one other thing i decided to in this list to not include any duets so what that means is that at some point i'm going to be doing an episode of my favorite duets that she's done so here's my let me know your favorite duets that maury has participated in can you let me know that so with this list today i will not include any duets but what i am including are my five favorite more performances and like i said friends this was really really tough to do because i like them all and as i was going back and watching those i was popping in different spots where i was like oh no no this one oh no no that one and i made my list and i started like checking off little things i actually put some time into this because i wanted this to be as true as it could be for right now and that's the last thing i'll say about it right now is this is how i feel today to be honest with you in a month i might feel different because if you asked me three months ago i would have had a certain song in the top three it just missed on this list and i'll tell you what that one is just for fun so the one that just missed and it's number six on my list is rise up that one is so so good but the reason why this first one i'm going to show you slid in here in the top five it's because it's by one of my favorite vocalists of all time whitney houston done by another one of my favorite [Music] i like that logo too it's like fire and then it's like that pink more that that's sharp [Music] i got my driver's license last week just like we always talked about is you were so excited for me to finally drive up to your house but today i drove through the [Music] suburbs and you're probably with that blonde girl who always made me doubt she's so much older than me just everything i want to take how could i ever love someone else and i know you weren't perfect [Music] and i just can't imagine how you could be so kind [Music] and all my friends are tired of hearing how much i miss you but i kind of feel sorry for them cause they'll never know you the way that i do today i drove through the suburbs and pictured i was driving home to you and i know [Music] and i just can't imagine how you could be so kind [Music] you said forever now i traveled can't drive past the places we used to go to cause i still really love you babe but i still [Music] [Music] and i just can't imagine cause you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me cause you said forever now i travel past your stream [Music] you've sat forever now i travel past your street [Music] so i i am like oh sweat like i am sweaty i am literally sweating from watching that wow that was just hearing her voice no music right there that was whoa that was that's felt so deep [Music] we [Music] just that walk down to those notes perfectly [Music] she's just so mesmerizing isn't she [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] but when she does that little screech over this god it's just oh man i love it so so much it just feels like it's a part of her for us [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] cause i don't want to live [Music] see that switch [Music] that was a true chest ahead that was [Music] [Music] nice [Music] [Music] i got the chills [Music] [Applause] [Music] what can i do that right there [Music] i cannot believe there is so much talent in one person [Music] oh she looked like really emotional there [Music] can't [Music] foreign [Music] that is such a low register wow [Music] all the stars [Music] hear that slide into those notes [Music] oh [Music] will never oh my gosh when she pushes oh she slid into that note oh my god for me [Music] for me have you ever got the chill so bad the tingling up and down your spine that it almost felt like uh it almost felt like i could pass out or something that was oh boy you guys were not kidding oh my gosh i have to say this okay i have to say this before i even start talking about the performance you know what kills me with modern day radio and hits i hear so many things on the radio and there's a lot of talented people of course that should be everywhere i should have heard that before today i can tell you that much i should hear that voice on american radio it should be on in the uk it should every single place on the on the planet that has radio that's the voice that should be on there holy smokes i i had notes i was going to pause it and talk i just couldn't stop i couldn't pause it i couldn't pause it okay number one that is one of the strongest chest voice i've ever heard when she pushes that is a thing of beauty see how much power she gets behind it the second thing is it probably should be the first thing right when she started that low register do you know the old saying uh never judge a book by its cover i just learned that lesson again today because when i looked at her i thought it was going to be a very i would say probably a more higher register type of thing i would say maybe with just a lot of runs like maybe like a mariah carey type run up in that stratosphere somewhere i did not see that low register coming and it was she nailed it she nailed it but my goodness when she started to push so let's get out let's let's keep going here because there's there are so many things i i'm literally going to watch this again like soon as i'm finished with what we're doing right here i am i have to watch that again that was insane that was insane okay another thing is she has nice little runoff so that shows just the control it's not just vibrato you know we talk about vibrato a lot and a lot of people can you know you can you can vibrato you know what i mean but it's to do those runoffs i always say it so sometimes i'll try to sneak those in so you're like those little run-offs see the little runoff at the end she does those so beautifully it's like it makes me never want to do it again because that's the expert that's the standard that's how you do a run-off correctly and she doesn't do it all the time she does it just in those little spots and it is freaking amazing probably the last thing about technique i want to say is she was sliding up into those little notes there's a line between going to your chest voice and your head voice i guess let me start by saying is to make that slide is already a gift not everybody can do it but a lot of people when they slide into the head voice they go all the way and then they stay there she didn't she'd do these quick little slides and come right back it is that's amazing i need more backstory on her i need more backstory i need i need more i need more that's one of the most incredible things i've ever seen between the last couple weeks of seeing marcelito and now more set two individuals i've never heard in my life not once i didn't even know what they look like i can see this rabbit hole is going to get deep for both i'm going to keep on my pomoy journey but i just starting the the more set journey and i can tell you
