today we are heading to the Kansai region of Japan where I'll take you with me to four different prefectures Osaka Kyoto NADA and Kobe [Music] our time in Osaka felt like a whirlwind time flew by we wrote the shinkansen for about two and a half hours from Hakata station in Fukuoka to Osaka station [Music] okay it's a room find hangers bathroom the shower very cool little stool in there oh and then we have of course toilet there's a little stool in there too okay things to hold your back s and then we got two beds and then I thought this was really cool they have the retro phone [Music] hey guys so we finally arrived at Osaka we took a shinkansen from Hakata station to Shin Osaka we made one transfer in between the train ride was really smooth we reserved our seats for the shinkansen just to make our lives easier so we didn't have to worry about where we were gonna sit the weather here is great it's about what 55 degrees I think 50 55 degrees so a little warmer than what the past week has been I can't believe it's already been a week that we've been in Japan if you haven't seen my other Japan videos I'll definitely link the playlist down in the description box below because we started in Nagasaki then went to Fukuoka and now we're here in Osaka so it's funny I was telling my dad earlier that it seems like every single place that we go to just gets busier and busier but yeah since we've been traveling all day or I guess not all day but all morning it feels like all day we're gonna go eat right now I am starving I also want to show you guys the area that this hotel is in because it is gorgeous and this hotel is actually pretty cool too I just found it on Expedia and the rates were good the rooms here are really nice really cool and it's all new it's only this hotel is only two years old Osaka is Japan's second largest metropolitan area with Tokyo being the largest it's known for its incredible food scene in Lively areas that are great for going out with friends Osaka is the perfect stop to add to your trip since it's in a central location that allows for easy access to some of Japan's most popular prefectures we didn't spend too much time in Osaka since we've been here before but trust me there's a plethora of things you can do that will make staying in Osaka for a few days well worth it after dropping our bags off at the hotel we head out to dotonbori a lively very colorful area of Osaka the area is packed with shops bars and restaurants when visiting I highly recommend you try the popular takoyaki in okonomiyaki or if you're willing to spend a little more definitely go to one of the crab restaurants that are nestled right along the canal totemburi is a must visit whenever I'm in Osaka because of one ramen shop known for its slow braised pork Ramen the restaurant always has a line but for a reason [Music] so we just got done eating Ramen at this place that I go to every single time I'm in Osaka you have to get their slow roasted or slow brace I don't know whatever but it is so good and then we got the fried rice set today and it was amazing basically it's off the main street and yeah there's always a line so you could probably find it that way but now we're just walking around this area there's a bunch of shops and it's really fun to like look around if it's your first time in Osaka make sure you stop by the Dolson body bridge and grab a picture of the famous glyco running man and the canal this is the infamous Don Quixote that is just filled with a bunch of like omiage that you can get it's a mad house in there there's a Sheba Cafe up there calcutts this area of Osaka gets very Lively at night with the bright lights shining overhead and a big bar scene traveling especially with big luggage always tires me out so we took it slow the first day here after walking around dotsonburi we walk through the Namba shopping area in America mura America mura is known as the center of the youth culture in Osaka it got its name because it was a place to buy miscellaneous U.S import Goods in the 1970s today you'll still find many retro and new American brands thrift stores cafes and bars [Music] hot chocolate hey everyone so it is day two kind of in Osaka today we're actually making a day trip out to Kyoto because we're meeting up with my dad's friends and this is the only time that really overlaps with them being here in Japan the train ride is only about 30 minutes so it's not too bad so I'm excited to take you guys over to Kyoto today let's go [Music] thank you Kyoto is one of my favorite prefectures in Japan it's a popular tourist area because you still get the old traditional Japanese culture and charm of rural Japan Kyoto is so easy to get to from Osaka you can get there in as little as 15 to 45 minutes depending on what train you take our first stop in Kyoto was to Starbucks the Starbucks was special though because it is the first one to be located inside a traditional Japanese house in the higashiyama ward once inside you order your drinks on the first floor and can enjoy your coffee on the second floor which has tatami four seating options and a few tables it's a smaller seating area so would not be ideal for big groups the Starbucks is located on a popular shopping street that leads to the kiyomizudera temple a world heritage site and popular visitor destination we definitely followed our stomachs when we were in Kyoto and let our food destinations lead us through the city not too far from Starbucks was our next Food destination a popular matcha Cafe where we ordered drinks and dessert I got the hojisha Tiramisu and matcha drink set afterwards we head off to our next Food destination Ramen I love strolling through the streets of Kyoto I typically recommend staying for at least three or more days here because most of the popular destinations are in different parts of Kyoto but even just a day walking around will transport you back in time and give you a glimpse of old traditional Japanese culture [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] just said goodbye to my dad's friends we went to this place called No Name Ramen for lunch and that place is so good there's literally no name on the front of it and just so you know it doesn't show up on Google Maps but it does show up on Apple Maps if you want to go check it out but now we're just walking around Kyoto before we head back to Osaka this is the view so pretty there's like a little area down there where people can just like sit and casually walk lots of little birdies in the water and flying about I can't wait to show you more of Kyoto in my next video we got to explore for a good four days so make sure you're subscribed to my channel and have notifications turned on so you know when that next video is available we took the shinkansen back to Osaka which only took 10 minutes from Kyoto I was exhausted from walking around but still had a bunch of work to do I worked at the restaurant located in our hotel which had lots of outlets free coffee and the food was so good the next day trip we took from Osaka was to Nada a city known for its historical importance temples and of course deer almond latte and I think prosciutto sandwich [Music] and something with salmon and cream cheese and potato [Music] the fastest way to get to Nada is by a 35 minute limited rapid Express from Osaka Namba to kintatsu Nada station oh my God all right so we are here and we want to go here all right so we just got to Nada and we are walking from the bus terminal to the park not a Deer Park is a 10 minute walk from NADA station the deer NADA were once considered sacred animals and the helpers of Gods today they are still protected and live harmoniously with the people in NADA the deer crackers that are sold all around NADA Park are registered trademark of the foundation for protection of deer in NADA this means that a portion of the deer cracker profits goes towards efforts to protect the deer a few tips I have for feeding the deer are one I recommend purchasing crackers away from the main temples where it's less crowded and there are less deer to stalk you two I always hide the crackers because once they know you have them they will follow you three try to find deer that are off by themselves and not in big herds trust me it can be overwhelming when you're surrounded by hungry wild deer and lastly the deer feed off of your energy as with all wild animals it's best to approach with caution and in a calm manner it's easy to get a bit riled up when you have deer surrounding you but the more ant you become the deer will proceed to match your energy overall hide the food stay calm and remember that they are wild animals after you've fed the deer I highly recommend checking out the Giant Buddha Hall at todaiji inside the hall is the largest statue of Buddha in the world weighing an estimated 300 tons [Music] as we walk back to the station we stumbled upon a pickled food buffet restaurant this restaurant is great if you're looking for a light meal [Music] so she said that this is the hot water and then this is Japanese tea so you pour the hot water in here and then this is the Miso soup so inside here it melts when you pour the water and then this is the plate for your rice and then the pickles so so it's a pickle Buffet I have a bunch of stuff on here and this isn't even all of it [Music] oh [Music] and last but not least little shopping sweet with on in it The Pickle Place was so good now we are I think just gonna walk around I still have one more cracker left so I need to find a lucky deer took our time walking back and weaved our way through the shopping area near the station foreign [Music] I noticed a lot of really cute cafes so we'll definitely need to come back and check them out [Music] we ended up grabbing dinner at a Korean restaurant in tanma Osaka a long shopping street with eateries all around [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] the last day trip on our list was to a port city located across the bay from Osaka Kobe Kobe is the third largest port in Japan and is known to have some of the best beef in Japan crisp sake and has one of Japan's three chinatowns you can get to Kobe in 30 minutes via train from Osaka this was my first time visiting Kobe and I was looking forward to seeing how its port in Chinatown were different from Nagasaki and Yokohama we started our Kobe Adventure by walking to Nankin Machi Kobe's Chinatown [Music] Kobe's Chinatown is a lively area that boasts a variety of street food and Chinese restaurants [Music] foreign [Music] not too far from Chinatown is the Kobe port [Music] this is remnants from a big earthquake that happened in Cold Bay crazy also look at how clear this water is I love being by the water and the port here was really spacious with lots of photo opportunities set up all around [Music] at the other end of the harbor you'll find a shopping mall Kobe Harbor land and many restaurants [Music] we ended up in a cafe that was Los Angeles inspired the food and coffee were delicious I loved the baguette used for my Kobe roast beef sandwich and the vegetables in the salad were so fresh we were on a strict timeline so after eating we head back to the station to catch our next bus [Music] foreign [Music] I was on a mission to catch the sunset at our next destination Mount Roku [Music] I added Mount Roku to our list of places to visit because it has a Scenic cable car ride up to the Lookout Point however the cable car wasn't running when we visited so we ended up taking a regular bus up the mountain [Music] [Music] the truck up to the gardens Terrace was well worth the view of Osaka and Kobe [Music] okay [Music] by the time we got back to Osaka from Kobe we were starving thankfully the Japanese train stations always have amazing food options so Dad got some sort of Yuzu pasta with Dashi and then I got the iwatsunegli pork so onion and pork and there's that corn on top this looks so good then we got their homemade tofu and tea so I got a set and dad just got the pasta [Music] I think I liked it [Music] first beer of the day whoa after days of back to back travel the wear of traveling started getting to us we decided to start our day a little later and have a slower day in Osaka the Omega Sky building was the only place I wanted to visit today [Music] the 173 meter tall building consists of two separate towers that are joined together by a ring-like observation deck the observation deck known as the floating Garden Observatory provides a stunning 360 degree view of the city [Music] thank you got a iced coffee and ice cream and a large Beauty large chicken it's gigantic [Music] I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend our last day in Osaka the sunset was perfect [Music] thank you [Music] our last meal in Osaka was at the Grand front Osaka there are many shops and restaurants in the grand front but ultimately revolving sushi was calling our name this was the perfect way to end five days in the Kansai region I loved that we were able to experience so many different areas but I can't wait to spend some quality time in our next destination Kyoto [Music] foreign [Music]
