$42.99 are you out of your mind? Auctionkings Buying a Morgan Silver Dollar on Ebay experience

all right youtube do you ever go on to uh ebay and uh you've seen one of these these listings that's always an actual auction the seller is auction kings uh james toller coins based on arizona i think other youtubers have done uh videos on this most likely daniel with coin help you but um i fell for it i gave it a shot and this is the coin i was expecting pretty smoking coin right proof like uh 38 bucks plus 49 so 42.99 with shipping so i placed the order and today's the 23rd and i got it so let me go to my lightbox so you can see the coin i received i didn't open it yet so we shall see all right so here's my receipt so i'm not making this up and i'm not i'm never like against anyone else trying to sell coins for a living but uh this particular seller probably sells millions of dollars worth a year i mean anytime you look at auctions for morgan's um they're and i think they do other coins too like but they're running like auctions around the clock so um they just it's just weird so i i i did buy one earlier this year um i didn't do a video on it but i did a just a regular a silver dollar an ike silver dollar it actually wasn't that bad it was supposed to be a deep cameo but it wasn't bad i guess i only paid like 10 bucks for it and um i ended up selling it for 20. so i'm not disparaging the seller at all i just want to give you guys reality like if you order this you go for it this is what you're going to get so again i'm the i bought this otherwise i wouldn't be able to print this out so anyways uh here's the package here's what it comes in uh looks like i run over at the post office so hopefully the coin inside's okay but um this is the business location it's out of the p.o box i've done some research on them too i looked them up um you check out their feedback it's not it's not really good there's like 297 retracted or changed feedbacks as well um but again you know it's like what's this guy carrie's doing millions of dollars worth so let me open this up here and i like to use razer blade on these types of packages so that way i don't cut the coin um let's see it's just interesting uh nothing else in there but again i just want to do this video show you guys you know if you're if your fault for this i figure it's worth worth having fun for 42 bucks all right so this little letter they give you um we do a lot of business we ship thousands of items a month they sure do they've got to be the biggest seller in ebay of coins so again remember the coin that they said i was going to get see if they got the year right all right so it's in 1881 so that looks good um it's supposed to be a san francisco uh that looks good what dude what all right so the packaging's interesting it's it's like they cut these probably not with a knife probably with one of those you know those paper cutters those big ones they got the big thing that comes down and got guillotines and so they're using like a shipping envelope to put this in they didn't tape it i mean it is bubble bubble taped i guess um they don't give you an invoice which probably makes it harder for someone older to figure out how to do a refund um the flip is really jacked um it's almost like a flip you'd get if you went to like your local coin shop and said hey man do you got any nasty flips laying around so i can use it to put my coins in and ship up to thousands of customers a month um i'm i'm assuming they got some kind of assembly but this is this is just a weird flip okay so i mean this is a brand new flip uh i'm not a big time reseller but when i pick these up they're about 14 cents each versus this one that's thrown away again not sure what that's all about so let me uh let me take this stick off here and then uh see what this coin really looks like i'm not gonna wear gloves either guys because like who cares this is for fun and educational purposes all right so they ship it in a throwaway flip a little zoom in action here all right this thing's been old school wired pretty hardcore in the fields the actual uh liberty's got a nice look to it uh definitely some mirrors going on but like i said it kind of doesn't matter because someone took a wire brush and whizzed it uh there's no dings nice looking rim and the reverse is a nice big old scratch over the r let's show that on the camera a little better and it's interesting the reverse doesn't look wire brushed i mean nice brass feathers on the eagle but again it's like i'm not gonna be upset because i think i got a good deal on it 40 you know 38 dollars for this type of morgan i mean what do you guys expect yeah shipping was five bucks but you know five dollars has to pay for the staple this piece of uh envelope this bubble mailer the the label maker machine this piece of paper with their refund policy and uh this lovely this lovely flip but realistically like when you ship a coin like this it's under four ounces as you can see it's three dollars 58 cents so the other 499 goes towards you know packing supplies although it looks like they recycle their packing supplies but again so minus their ebay fee they're a huge huge seller so i'm assuming they they probably pay less than 10 percent so they sold to me for 38. 4.99 is realistic um cost of the shipping materials plus the labor to pack it up so 38 minus 10 so 35 34 they probably lost money on this one because i don't care how big you are you're not going to pick these up for 35 bucks wholesale morgan's this quality if you're buying it in the thousands probably like 50 each 45 at the lowest so they definitely lost money but again that's how they roll but you've seen some of their auctions like people will go to that auction i'll show you that screen again um but that this this is definitely the coin but i knew i knew i wasn't gonna get it so that's why i'm laughing i'm not upset i will keep this coin i'm going to resell it as a wire brush coin but i mainly got this for educational purposes so so again this is the coin i was supposed to receive and uh obviously it doesn't have the scratch over the r like mine does [Music] so there's a big old scratch so again it's just for fun guys uh if you do plan on buying from this seller they're they're on there every day so it's whatever i say it's not gonna matter but just know that you're not gonna get the coin in the photo but this one i'm gonna leave a positive feedback like i think this is a great buy for 42.99 you know but just just don't fall for it if the picture's too good to be true yeah i should be upset that they didn't ship me the coin that wasn't in the picture but ain't gonna get a whole nobody over there and who cares like i'm happy with what i got for what i paid so anyways guys have a good rest of your day please like share subscribe
