it's interesting i don't want it it's so gross it's not gross oh wow and before some of your grains come at us it does clearly say that it's safe for eating raw hey grains welcome to cashew trash the episode where we review craft kits to make sure that i waste my money and you don't today we're going to be trying ice cream making machines i've personally never made ice cream before i made ice cream one i know she keeps talking about that same experience she had once but you can tell science class but you can tell it was a very memorable experience yeah because she got to make her own ice cream yeah it was really fun food yeah i love food persica pizzica she's feeding me for lunch don't eat it straight from the tube not i was just i saw you i saw that little brain of yours go like must eat it let's eat we have two different ice cream making kits at two completely different price points the first one is called dash my pint ice cream maker this one cost me 40 40 i don't think i've actually eaten 40 worth of ice cream in the last two years i may have the next one is an ice cream maker by a company called winter yeah winter at 400 canadian it hurt my little pocket i'm really excited to see the difference between both ice cream makers does it really make a difference if you have the smaller one or the bigger one yeah other than capacity of course i'm curious of the feel and the flavor and the efficacy yeah yeah use that right right yeah you do hey let us know in the comment section below which one do you think is going to be the most successful in making ice cream is of us wants to try and then another one that sika is absolutely interesting about it's interesting i don't know if i'll actually like it but it's like all flavors that i like okay but first let's start with the one that we both agree on okay cookie dough yeah simple it's just cookie dough flavor with vanilla yes next i want to try watermelon mixed with gummies so kind of my take on the bubble gum flavor i just couldn't find bubble gum flavor it so i went ahead and got watermelon and gummies so they're gonna be very interesting combination i think and then the last one because zika is a 90 year old grandmother stop it okay it's just very interesting so the base flavor is almond i want to infuse earl grey into it yeah grandmother flavor go ahead oh you want your mouth and i was thinking of making it with coconut milk yeah instead of regular milk because we have regular milk coconut milk and cashew cashew milk so we want to see if the different types of milk whether it's cow's milk or alternative milks would actually be good in the expensive machine since this here is really different because you have to take the bowl and put it in the freezer for minimum 12 hours i think it said overnight yeah yeah 12 hours whereas the expensive machine you just plug it in yeah no pre-freezing and then ice cream whenever you want whenever you want whereas this one you gotta be like i think i'll want ice cream tomorrow and put it in the freezer yeah which i never do yeah you just leave it in the freezer all the time yeah but if you don't have space in your freezer it kind of sucks it does just put your peas in the container yeah so you're saving space just shove everything in there so before we begin let's first get to know our ingredients since we've never worked with these kinds of flavorants are they flavorants it sounds emulsion it's just artificial flavor that's all you want to try with almond first sure let's get a whiff of almond oh wow oh my god it smells like an amaretto it's yeah it smells so strong it doesn't smell bad no it's very strong almond yeah like super almond think of the almondiest cake or flavor you've had it literally smells like amaretto yeah next we have buttery vanilla you okay yeah shimmer no i'm just like over salivating so i'm trying no no zika gets really excited so by the way we did pierce it but we didn't sniff it let you get the first sniff ooh oh wow that's gonna be perfect for cookie dough it has almost a butterscotch scent yeah right but usually cookie dough has that smell yeah okay so it does have this cookie dough butter yes cookie type oh my god that smells good and now we're gonna go for watermelon don't drop it i'm not gonna drop i'm very good at dropping smoke i know because i have sausage fingers i'm gonna oh wow that smells smells really refreshing i usually don't like watermelon smells but that smells really good i'm just elevating so much it's like a sugary but it's not too sugary and it's not too intense it has this hubba bubba type scent to it i guess yeah but like a sweet watermelon like if you had a watermelon juice kind of thing yeah this is going to be interesting with the gummies the gummies i'm really excited i don't know how i feel about this well we're going to try each other's i'm going to try grandma i'm gonna bite you so hard don't do it watch it be a delicious okay i'm pretty sure it probably will be i thought you could say punisher wouldn't be i think wow you're so judgmental no it sounds good but in order to make ice cream it's time to see what we get inside you good fam i got it don't worry oh i'll trust it so here's what we get inside and just to let your grains know we did cheat we did open it beforehand so we could actually freeze the inner compartment yeah so we didn't look really what was inside we just went and found the thing that goes and then we ran away with it and play in the freezer all right okay cool and then we ran back and we repackaged everything without looking so we're getting the compartment where we can put part a and part b together in order to churn the ice cream we also get a mini spatula and then we get the instruction guide as well as the that's it that's an instruction guide which made us very salty yes because it's not 12 hours four hours yes 24 hours so overnight is technically not enough if you want ice cream you have to basically leave it in the freezer all the time when not in use so you're sure to get ice cream whenever you need it and on top of it it's only good for 20 minutes the first 20 minutes out of the freezer right so yes we're getting ice cream fast after it's out of the freezer but you have to remember that you have to leave it in there for a whole day before you can get your ice cream within 20 minutes so [Music] why why oh she's still salty she's not taking your shiz nets it's really hard to keep it it hurts afterwards so since we can only do one flavor every 24 hours we're only going to go with the cookie dough for this one and that's it and that's it we'll see how good it becomes but i'm already salty about this i'm very salty about it but let's go ahead and make our cookie dough cookie dough cookie dough stuff i want me some cookie dough we're going to go ahead and make our cookie dough ingredients in that little bowl and then mix it up to make sure it's to taste and then we're going to take out the icy bowl we don't want to take it out because it's only good for 20 minutes and then we're going to be pressure like oh no we took it out we have 18 seconds left and knowing us we talk so much and we get so distracted about oh it's been 28 minutes okay oh no back in the freezer back 24 hours okay so yeah let's not do that no let's not do so we're gonna finish off our little ingredient thingy taste it and then we're gonna run into the freezer and then run back and then pour it and then it's good for 20 minutes and then we run away and let it go i don't know what it sounds like actually i don't know what it sounds like either so we're going to go ahead add our milk i know some ingredients do request that we can use cream but in this case we're going to go with milk we'll be using butter vanilla for flavoring maybe some sugar we'll see how we want it to be sweet or not considering the flavorant might be sweet it's on its own as well and then we'll be putting little pieces of cookie dough in it yeah so my guess is that for the other one we could put the cookie dough later yeah because it has a small compartment but we'll get that later yeah we're going to do one at a time calm down one machine at a time woman stop girl dirty crafter okay okay so our mixture is done and here's that red container oh we don't even hear the liquid anymore because it's frozen okay we don't have much time let's go ahead and put that or just directly from the bowl hang on my felt i'm so worried about my felt there all right so we're gonna go ahead and put it inside the red container yes put some cookie doughs in there oh wow thank goodness i left my felt aside you're a menace okay i think that's enough that's enough you're you're a menace you're a menace look at this i'm glad i put myself aside all right we have 18 minutes left okay but we need this we need to clean up on the outside you're just throwing it you're letting me do it with one hand i'm trying you're not trying hard enough try harder i'm trying okay we're good go ahead okay we have to put this in there it's only 20 minutes i don't know how long it takes to make ice cream okay it's in now okay got it okay okay so put it on and try is this on i think so it doesn't feel like it's like oh i think i need to hello hey we've got 14 minutes oh my gosh she needs help does it need to twist or not no wow here you try okay it does not want to twist maybe it doesn't okay okay i'll hold the base while you do it okay ready how long do we do this for it doesn't say okay so let's just try for 15 minutes okay okay go doesn't sound too great but okay let go the top okay i'll let go the bottom i don't know i think it's okay i mean we're here to test it it's really loud we'll see your grains in five minutes all right so here we are five minutes later and it's already starting to rise all right so it's been eight minutes yep that's enough time let's just start seeing oh okay it's getting chunky yeah it's oh no it's chunky but nowhere near we'll see give it 20 minutes all right all right let's keep it going all right so it's been 16 minutes so let's see how ice creamy it is okay okay it's very liquidy at the bottom yeah it's liquidy at the bottom but it is ice creaming yeah so let's give it that last five minutes so it's had its full 20 minutes we don't even know if it needs 20 minutes because the instructions are absolute garbage very bad instructions honestly all it says is that it's it you're so frustrated i'm really annoyed hang on let's look first before it starts melting and then we're blamed for it that's some soft surf going on there yeah so it's definitely still on the liquidy side and let's go ahead and scoop our ice cream stupid oh wow that is hold on let me try oh no oh wow oh it didn't it didn't get to the bottom are you serious yeah look at that it probably got to the bottom but this is more like slush do you want slash oh no yeah it's a slush rather than ice cream you ready it tastes like a little milk why is this cold milk should we recycle these ingredients into the other machine we probably could it literally looks like a milkshake yeah a bit of a slushy yeah so it's good for slushes yeah what happened it's very sad what happened was it what is it called dash dash yeah gosh that what happened dash you made zika cry are you happy now you bring your mom hot and i love you food don't make you do this to me how why you do this to me and so not only is this kit extremely disappointing the instructions were absolutely garbage as well they gave us recipes for like that yields like three cups minimum they said like two cups cream one cup milk but this whole thing only holds one cup so you're giving us a recipe for three and it holds only one and you can only use it for 20 minutes every 24 hours so you've dedicated all this time to get a slushy cold milk i would say for me at forty dollars and for me because yeah one hundred percent this kid goes in the trash the son of a biscuit i thought you were to say the whole word i was like um well that was quite this really is quite the frequency she's upset hopefully the 400 one does well which means our next victim the 400 winter ice cream maker that you don't need to chill nope every just chills on its own you just put all the ingredients and you let it run for about an hour depending on the size so it's just chilling it's just chilling for you the machine looks pretty intimidating it looks hefty it looks hefty it's pretty heavy-duty i mean it has its own fridge all right so the instructions really seem simple enough we just have to turn the power on it has 60 minutes but it says it can take anywhere between 30 minutes and 60 minutes yeah so we're just going to go ahead and leave it in there so the capacity for this one also is 1.5 liters right so i'm assuming 1.5 liters would probably be more towards 60 minutes whereas we have like less than 300 ml in here yeah we did put a little bit of the cookie dough balls in there just so that it mixes in we have literally three yeah then we're gonna put the rest later all right ready be gentle i'll try gentle i'll try gentle very nice look very gentle look and three cookies three cookies okay bye cookie bye cookie and it goes and it locks i think that's good wow i'm trying this is not even attached there we go so this is nice as well they have this little thing over here so you don't lose it it's a very small piece it is all right so let's go ahead and just press start oh that is quite it's loud but not as disruptive as the other one yeah the other one was like whereas this one's constant yeah it's stable it is stable all right so we're gonna come back every five minutes oh so it's probably telling you oh it's going down okay all right we'll be back so it churned for 18 minutes which isn't a long time and then it stopped on its own because it's like i'm done turning i'm done churning now i'm just gonna stay cooling and now we're not sure we can actually add cookie dough to it like that yeah we should have added it before probably at 15 minutes rather than eating i told you yeah i told you she did is she right all right so let's see what it looks like it looks amazing already just from here ooh oh my god so excited look at this look at that can i pull it out i don't think you're supposed to pull that out are you i don't know oof no it's frozen in there i guess let's scoop okay scoop okay little scoop scoop hey buddy hey buddy all right so i left zika for like exactly a few seconds i got it out and she got it everywhere i got it out you were looking at instructions that i already knew you had to get this out yeah so that's what i did okay a guy out okay all right so we're looking at this and it seems a little icy but sika's guessing is probably because we left it in too long too long and not enough uh liquid yeah so it's better than the other option which was just melty grossness so this can just oh i missed what did you do oh yeah put it in there we're gonna mix in some of that cookie dough it's okay all right so we've mixed it a little bit because it was just way too frozen and now it has a proper ice cream consistency let's move it into a waffle bowl that's huge i thought the waffle bowl would be smaller here it is in the waffle bowl zika is putting a little garnish of um cookie dough but i think we're good it really looks like mashed potato just a little bit we should have probably put some coloring oh color in there i know i'm craving mashed potatoes now you know time for what chocolate smexy chocolate [Music] damn that's thick that's very thick all right so now it's time for our taste test look at that oh the chocolate really did freeze yeah it said it's supposed to freeze like on contact pretty much yeah so here we go here's what it looks like it's really like mashed potato you ready yeah ready go so cool it's very cool tastes good though it's a bit icy we did use two percent milk though yeah so i think with cream or a different kind of milk it could be better yeah maybe it needs to melt also just a little bit because again we didn't over freeze it but did it freeze yes yes i did not expect this to make ice cream in like 18 minutes yeah i thought it was gonna take at least 40 minutes so if you're a huge ice cream monster this is pretty good but we want to do more experiments so we're gonna go ahead and do watermelon yes and we're gonna do it less time so it's less icy but yeah let's go ahead and put this in the freezer so that it doesn't melt also we forgot to mention that they did include a measuring cup and a spatula that we've been using so thank you for 400 thank you thank you that's the least it could have been done here mommy i expected someone to make the ice cream for me no i mean yeah i mean the machine is making it for you so for my watermelon fiasco that zika has no faith in i'm using these gummies i'm trying to chop them into tiny bits of pieces like gusso that's calm down okay we'll cut them even smaller okay okay okay okay like so let a poof of smoke voila so i don't know why but usually she's only standing up when she's excited i am excited okay you are excited for the watermelon well i'm just excited for ice cream okay so we're gonna do a mixture of cream do i do half cream half milk yeah let's do that i need you to put it that way this way um again okay we're good we're good we go okay okay oh my god we're still putting now for the water super super watermelon concentrate oh it smells so strong so watermelon it's like a bubble tea watermelon i've never had bubble tea oh i love butter buttermilk buttermelon bubble tea and watermelon watermelon did you nothing happened did you nothing happen okay how much do we put this one says it's extra strong i like things super extra so i'm gonna put this much super extra super extra oh pretty color oh look at that color there we go okay i'm gonna try and taste this without the sugar yet needs more yeah i would say so i need sugar too it does can you bring the sugar please honey thank you do you want one tablespoon malev two two i want this to be the sweetest thing around the block there we go oh my god okay maybe it's too much maybe one i said two oh no here that's one and a half then so we just did a taste test and the watermelon is um super strong not just super strong but it's the aftertaste yeah there's a really weird aftertaste in the back it's like a tang like a chemical obviously it's chemical yeah but it just it lingers badly i'm hoping that it's going to go away once it's cold but maybe it'll just accentuate it oh no oh no oh no no i hope not either but it's much sweeter than the previous one because we put more sugar no same sugar oh one and a half okay so we're going to go ahead and put it inside the ice cream maker but this time we're going to keep an eye on it so that it doesn't you know freeze over extra but what we want to do is make sure that it starts churning and then throw in the gummies so it's been 10 minutes dunk them and we'll take it out in about a minute okay that looks good i hope that's the right consistency oh yeah yes oh it smells good it does so watermelony so as you can see the consistency is very much so ice cream so i think we over froze the other one and we may have under done this one a little slightly but i kind of like my ice cream melty ish and not frozen frozen yeah but not also as melty as the first yeah no that's not that's a milkshake that's just water so i'm gonna go ahead i want you want gummy yeah where's the there's hair gummy okay i have a gummy okay ready go go there's still that synthetic watermelon flavor it tastes like soap mm-hmm the consistency is good i think it's just a flavoring that's no good yeah so if your grains ever do see this flavoring it tastes like soap don't do it don't get it but the consistency itself the machine itself so far so good now we're going to be making sika's flavor which is purely everything from home so we're not going to have that gross aftertaste it's going to be earl grey with coconut milk a little bit of almond flavoring so that is there is the almond flavoring to it hopefully it doesn't taste weird though we're gonna snip it did you want instead of sugar did you want to put maple syrup we'll see okay i'm just giving suggestions we'll see we'll see okay okay okay let's do the doing but in all seriousness if you do find a watermelon and put gummies in it do it just don't get that one it's too synthetic but it's a good combo it's interesting why didn't anyone tell me she was behind me no no so here is zika's baby tea base earl grey it's oh very concentrate yeah and we put a whole bag of tea in like less than a third of a cup okay and now we have our coconut milk we're going to do different varieties but i'll also show you grains at the end what it looks like with cashew milk so you know whether or not it actually works sika do not do not bend it it's going to have liquid it's not liquid it's going to have liquid barely okay oh there you go it looks so chunky it is so chunky oh my god okay so which means the ice cream itself should be creamy it should be very creamy if it's not creamy we have a problem okay so chunk that is super chunk it's like meat you chubby bunny i'm a chubby bunny chunk puppy oh gross it looks nasty it looks so gross oh my god but we're gonna keep putting the pudding the almond we're gonna be putting the almonds all right so you tell me how much very slowly i know it's thick it's thick i can't do anything okay i'm trying it's so thick oh my god it's coming out okay bend it more you good buddy is it coming out yeah very slowly no wait let me try and shake it maybe it needs a little it sounds liquid is this oh my god that's enough you're happy now i think so okay go ahead you go mix it i don't mix it don't mix it all right so let's do a quick taste test that's a lot of coconut there's no earl grey in there that's gross i wanted it to be more earl grey that's too gross it's just a lot of cooking i don't want it anymore i don't want it it's so gross it's not gross it's just coconutty okay relax like i wasn't that big so the question is what would you change maybe add sugar because we didn't even add sugar to it yeah go for it i think it should be better with sugar even though i'm not a huge fan of coconutty too much coconutty i love coconut not for me there you go so even though technically it's not my cup of tea get it because it's earl grey not my cup of tea okay we're gonna go ahead and put it in there anyways because we said that we gonna test everything all kinds of milk well not all just all right so all kinds so just three down the hatch hello so here we go this is what it looks like i think it feels very creamy yeah i think you're the only one who's gonna taste it i could taste if you want but that's okay i'll just see the face you make first a very quickly how's the how's the consistency it's good it's super creamy yeah but very coconutty would you actually eat a whole tub like that i can actually taste a little bit of the oh gray you can taste it in the back it actually tastes better cold really yeah okay i'll try it just my feet it's not too much it's an airplane yeah here a little bit yeah see mm-hmm yeah it's actually better cold yeah but i would still do more liquidy type coconut milk it's super creamy though yeah not from the canvas it's really much creamy it's too much for me i actually like it sorry it smells really good i know it smells good this is basically just cashew milk with hot chocolate powder and marshmallows is this called the rocky road i have no idea i don't know i don't know but let's go ahead and see what that's going to be like so you could do not miss trying trying okay that's so creamy and here we go after 13 minutes i think that is quite it looks creamy oh wow so this is what cashew milk looks like and bottoms up sorry we have one spoon because sika put the other one away mmm okay oh that is good yeah oh yeah probably my favorite today actually did you make it with milk or hot water just cashew milk oh yeah it's too casual right so just hot chocolate and cashew milk yummy did it do what it said it was going to do yes was it actually fun yeah it was fun experimenting especially we don't know anything about ice cream making so i'm sure those who love making ice cream are probably like but jackie you're doing it wrong and you're absolutely right because we all know what we're doing but we're having fun but we're having fun not to mention some of the expensive machines that are around a hundred and thirty dollars you still need to freeze the inside so absolutely why would i pay 130 bucks instead of the 40 bucks and kind of still get the same result but the 40 one is absolute trash i feel like the middle one probably could be less soupy but i'm pretty happy with this one so yeah i would just say some testing and then yeah it's amazing you can make soft serve and icicles and icicles and sorbet we should have tried it with juice oh yeah well you know what as i'm talking right now you're gonna see it being done with juice there it is this is what it looks like with juice so i would say that this kit is worth your cash if you want if you're a crazy super ice cream loving person then yes yeah i don't eat ice cream worth four hundred dollars probably the last ten years yeah no i don't like me either no but if you really love ice cream you can make all
