40 DIY IKEA HACKS...That You HAVE TO TRY!!!

[Music] so the pendant lamps are definitely a buy at ikea for 2021. these are so great if you can do two it looks great i also have them in my dining room and my kitchen so i'm gonna show you the ones i have so i grabbed some macrame cord off of amazon i also picked up some cream colored twine i wanted to make tassels to put around the entire piece so i'm going to start wrapping the macrame cord around a piece of cardboard then i'm going to take the yarn and tie a knot at the top i'll cut off the bottom pieces and then i'll use an elastic to put that about an inch down from the top then i'm going to do something a little unconventional and use a dog hair brush to smooth out all of the macrame so it gives me a loose tassel finish i don't know how many i made of these but it was a lot then i went through and just tied them all to my lamp i cut off the excess yarn and then i also trimmed them at the bottom to make them as even as possible and here's how it looks in my kitchen the pegboard at ikea is such a good deal it's 14.99 for one of these white squares you can put a bunch of them together or you can just have one alone i have the same pegboard in my daughter caroline's room and it looks great you can get all these different accessories here too to organize their space [Applause] [Music] my ikea is out of these little canvas bags i love these i bought them a few months ago and i'm gonna show you how i use them in my craft room hopefully your ikea has them in stock so i had this blanket from five below and i'm gonna cut off the fringe into tiny little pieces from this blanket and then once i have them cut down to tiny little pieces i'm then going to glue these onto the canvas containers in kind of a random pattern just kind of alternating them and i just put a bead of hot glue on the back i did this on three of the sides i thought these would make a really cute little plant holders on the pegboard for my background so i just added in some succulents from dollar tree [Music] so ikea has these plate holders that are only 2.99 which these would be great for plate holders but i have another idea for them that's going to be awesome for organization [Music] one of my favorite things at ikea are these resealable bags they're only 1.99 for these super cute patterns they come in a variety of sizes and colors i'm really liking the blue ones [Music] ikea sells these really cute little trays for 299 that they use on their platters but you could use them individually you could set jewelry out on them they also have larger trays i love this little pink larger tray for 7.99 and this one is really pretty as well this one's 4.99 as well so i couldn't pass up that tray and i had an idea for it so i had this ikea stool you can actually purchase this stool at ikea that i had painted probably a year ago so i'm going to remove the legs and actually still use the legs for this table i'm going to be adding e6000 to the top of the legs and then i'm just going to simply place the tray on the top and here's a look at how this turned out as a side table [Music] ikea has recycling bins in two different sizes so they have the really large ones that are 12.99 you can also get the smaller one for 9.99 so i went into qriket design space and i found some images of different recycling things that i wanted to cut out so i had paper and bottles and cans and glass then i sent those to my cricut joy and i'm going to cut them out on a removable vinyl that i thought would look good with the white recycling bins that i had [Music] next i'm going to weed out the images then i'll come in with some transfer tape to put these onto the front of the recycling bins [Music] this retractable leash is such a good deal it's 5.99 for smaller dogs i think the larger dog's a little bit more expensive but i use it for moose and it's [Music] my great cheap options at ikea are the college shelves especially these little four compartment ones i haven't seen the wood i don't know if those are new but i have the black and the white all over my house and i have several diy options that you can do to really update these and make them look really awesome and the price is 34.99 i know there's times when they do go on sale i've bought them as cheap as 19.99 [Music] i'm going to grab one of these containers they're super big they fit in the calyx shelves so i'm going to grab i think four of these to put in my shelf so these containers are 5.99 they're these wooden boxes and you put them together like this i did a diy last year where i made these boxes for my laundry room and i think they turned out super high-end [Music] i wanted to show you guys this display they have out because they have a ton of cute organization over here so these little crates down here are so cute they're 4.99 they also have these little bamboo and glass organizers for five dollars and you can see how cute they are up there and they come in a variety of sizes and i love that you can stack them so here's a look at the bamboo organizers so you can pick out the lid that you want and then you purchase the glass separately so you can kind of figure out you know what kind of lid and glass situation you want [Music] so one of the things i really like about the dry food containers is how slender they are they're really compact so if you have a small pantry like i do these are great these would be great for cereal they would also be great for pet food [Music] welcome to my ikea kitchen oh my god i want to show you the best tray for 2021 i have this tray in my bedroom and absolutely love it it's only 9.99 so if you're at ikea you definitely want to pick this up [Music] so these are definitely my favorite door mats to get from ikea they're only 7.99 i love these because they're nice and big and i can use them stencil them myself paint on them and they just have like a you know plain canvas they work great i definitely love all of the cutting boards that they have at ikea some that are under ten dollars that i really like this one this one's only 4.99 this would make a great like display item and these are really cool they're 8.99 i mean you could definitely use these for a cutting board i think they make a great base to like add displays to them maybe like some candles or something on top of there this is one of my favorite ikea baskets i love it for storing plants but they have it displayed really cute up here it's only 9.99 i also love how they have the same basket displayed here they just pressed it down and then they have some cute towels in there so i think it makes it a really versatile basket so you can either have it up or push it down like that [Music] i have these little i don't even know what they call these looks like they call them rails i have one of these in the camper and then i also have it in my kitchen on the edge of the cabinets it's only 8.99 i really love it you have to buy the little hook separately but it's definitely one of my favorites and you can see how they displayed it over here with the hooks i don't have one of these containers but i think that's really cute as well oh this one's longer this one's 9.99 i have the shorter one but if you were putting it like on your backsplash you may want the longer one so one of the items i bought this year is this seven hook wall hanging i did a little diy on it i'll show you guys what i did but it's 14.99 and a great deal if you're needing something like this [Music] for 2021 you definitely want to grab faux plants at ikea i have this one in my front room it's 50 but it's a pretty large plant and it makes a great accent plant they have it here next to a bookshelf i have it in my front room next to a dresser i wanted to show you guys how i created this really inexpensive planter so this basket was five dollars at the thrift store and then i picked up a can of spray paint at walmart i'm gonna do two coats just to kind of cover this and give it a fresh look i love this darker color and i think it looks great with the faux plant from ikea so if you have a boho style here's an option for you there's this little basket organizer and it's on actually on sale for 9.99 and it's in this cool fabric we actually use ours in our laundry room to store like extra things for the kids like gloves and mitts and then like my girls little volleyball knee pads we put in there so i love that it's stylish so if you have an area where you want it to look really nice like people are going to see it that's a great option so this next thing i'm going to show you i probably have so many of these it's kind of embarrassing all right ikea throws i think are such a good deal and so inexpensive i was drawn to this one right here for 12.99 i love the color of it i don't have that one i do have this one i actually did a diy with it last year where i added some pom-poms to it and this one is 19.99 i'll insert here how i did that diy [Music] so [Music] and they also have it in pink which i'm pretty sure they didn't have last year but so cute for a nursery or like a little girl's room i really love this one i don't see a price on it but this would make a great throw or i also think it would be really great to recover something like it's a really nice fabric so i could see you recovering like a bench with this or oh you could even make pillows out of it that would be cute too [Music] i love all the faux plants at ikea they're typically 4.99 there's so many different options that they have they have larger plants that are a little bit more pricey and then they just have so many different options they also have real plants but the faux plants you know they're going to last year-round and they definitely elevate your space for a minimal amount oh my goodness you guys get out of here these are new oh my gosh i need these look at these they're like little green ones all right i'm getting some of those so cute i'm pretty sure these are only 4.99 too so this is what i do i have a problem i'm sorry i like to get them all out and pick my favorite ones they probably all look the same but i think they don't and so i'm like oh i like this one or i like that one and those are the ones i purchased so if you're ever wondering like how many to purchase sets of three and five look really well together so i think a set of three would work the best here so sticking with our inexpensive price tag ikea has these black shoe racks for only 4.99 so if you pick up two that's under 10 to organize your shoes all right so i'm over in the bathroom section i wanted to show you guys my favorite trash can this trash can is 9.99 and they have it in white as well and it's a perfect little trash can for your bathroom so inexpensive so it looks like they have another version of that trash can this one is 12.99 i love that little like dark camel color well it's kind of more of a chocolate and then they also have it in black [Music] all right you guys so these organizers are perfect for inside your desk and i bought several of them my last trip here they range between like 19 cents and a dollar 19 so i'll show you how i organize with them [Music] so ikea has their wood crates and two new finishes so they have like this like almost light like kind of white wash look for 14.99 and then they also have a gray wash as well these are pretty large crates really cute i think i don't know i think i'm gonna get the white one [Music] [Music] these are my favorite jars that i use in the bathroom they're 4.99 and like in my daughter caroline's room i just painted the lids black and then they also have like a smaller option that's 2.99 that you could like combine these two and that would be really cute for like a bathroom [Music] i love all of the hand towels at ikea you can get some really nice ones i have these in my guest bathroom for 2.99 they're like a really good size and they also have one of these handles on them if you want to hang them that way but they have them in like a gray and a white i think i might get some white today yeah i'm gonna get one of the whites to replace some that my daughters decided to get slime on all my white towels and if you guys know anything about slime it does not come out of white towel i love these new wire baskets they have the larger one it looks like it's 22 dollars but the smaller one is perfect it's 9.90 i have a great idea for this you guys so my idea was to hold mail in here but honestly you could hold anything so i have this little chalkboard that i had picked up at dollar tree and i wanted to put this on here this was a little difficult to take off this bottom portion but i just kind of used the tools that i had and then sanded it down until i was able to remove that bottom portion it was glued on there pretty tight next i'm going to be using some shims on the back of here so i can attach this to the wire crate then i'm going to hot glue it to the crate and then i'm going to use the shims on the back to connect it and i'm going to add in some additional hot glue just so that this little chalkboard sign stays on here really well i'm gonna write the word mail with my dollar tree chalk marker but you could really add whatever you want so since this was going to be holding mail i wanted this to be pretty sturdy so i picked up some magnet hooks off of amazon [Music] okay so breaking news i've never seen cleaning stuff at ikea and i just found they have a new little cleaning section in the bathroom they have these little spray bottles which you might might not think that that's anything special but they have these flat sides so you can put them next to each other in like your cabinet and they don't take as much space so clever so 99 cents for squeegee that's a great price definitely grab these at ikea they're good quality they're great for your showers or for doing some weird diys so this is a really fun paint technique so put a bunch of different color paints on a piece of paper then you can use a squeegee to pull it down it gives a really fun paint effect you can do this with any project or any kind of paints here's the absolute best tote deal for 2021 this one is huge it's plastic it's kind of flimsy i use it every day to carry things to my office it's only 7.99 and it comes in three different colors [Music] so overall i just love these little glassware jars with the lids i think they're so pretty they come in a variety of sizes i always get these for like little gifts and then these are great too if you want to do spices so i love that they have a variety of sizes i think the one i probably get most often would be this one and that one is 2.99 but all of the jars i believe are under four dollars [Music] [Applause] ikea has some great options for clocks under 10 i'm going to show you some of my favorite this black one i've used several times they also have it in white which is adorable but most of their clocks are under ten dollars their best deal is definitely this dollar ninety nine wall clock how cute is that and we're going to make it even cuter so i started by removing all the components of the clock next i'm going to use this indigo color and spray paint two coats of spray paint once that had a chance to dry i wanted to add a design so i went into cricut design space they have a lot of different designs that you can choose from this one reminded me of a rainbow i thought it was really pretty so i'm just gonna be using two pieces of it i'm gonna size it down so it'll fit perfectly in the middle of my clock then i'm gonna be cutting this out on my cricut joy i'm gonna be cutting it out without a mat and i'm gonna be using white smart vinyl i love how easy it is to just put the vinyl in i don't even have to worry about the mat it just makes it so much easier so i'm gonna cut that out [Music] now because i spray painted i didn't want to use any transfer tape because anytime you use transfer tape with spray paint it does not hold well so i'm just going to pull the pieces off and i'm going to lay them onto my clock [Music] then i'll put the hands back into the clock i'll also add back on the glass front and here's a look at how this two dollar clock turned out [Music] all right so here is an amazing deal so you get three of these little containers for only 49 cents let's grab one of these these are perfect little snack size containers love these these would also be great for any kind of dip or dressing [Music] so one of my favorite organization products has got to be this wood lazy susan now i actually use this underneath my sink for cleaning supplies now this is 14.99 which is a little bit higher but it's a pretty big size and it holds a ton of stuff this is a new planter they have for 6.99 i think it's really cute ikea's always putting out new plant pots i really love this wood one for 7.99 so i'm going to grab this so i wanted this plant to go in with my blue theme that i'm doing for this video so i'm going to take painters tape about a third of the way down and i'm going to wrap it around my container next i'm going to use the color ocean by waverly and i'm going to do two coats [Music] once that has a chance to dry i'm going to take white and i'm also going to take a foam brush and i'm simply just going to create lines going up i didn't care if this was perfect honestly i really didn't want it to be perfect i wanted it to definitely look handmade then i'm going to remove the painters tape you could put any ikea plant in here i ended up styling it with two of the ikea white vases i picked up on my last trip [Music] i love these little suction cups for the bathroom these things hold so well i put them in my camper and i was able to hold so much like even the weight of my purse these things held up they're 4.99 for a two pack and they have them displayed in your bathroom but i know that like mine i used in my rv as well so i think you know you could use them on walls as well [Music] another bathroom item that i love are these little soap dispensers for 5.99 these are out of stock as well so i don't know if all their bathroom stuff's currently out of stock but this is great i have this in caroline's bathroom and it's holding up really well [Music] my favorite pillow insert has got to be this one for six dollars it's 20 by 20 but it's really full so if you need something to fill your pillows i typically will get this if i don't already have something on hand i never skipped the rug section i have made pillows out of this one that's 3.99 [Music] [Music] they have just a ton of inexpensive rugs i have this one in my house all right so i'm in the rug section you can definitely find tons of rugs under 10 this one is 7.99 i've used it before for a project but i think i'm actually going to use it for a rug i know shock shock i'm actually using it as a rug i love purchasing these inexpensive rugs at ikea but you can always do things to them to dress them up a little bit this one's a really simple diy i'm just going to take some painters tape and i'm going to draw out a couple of lines now really you could do this any way you wanted i was just kind of freehanding it whatever seemed good at the time next i'm going to come in with waverly white chalk paint chalk paint does really well on fabrics and rugs and i'm just going to paint the inside of my lines now i didn't want it to cover it completely i actually wanted the rug to kind of show through a little bit so you can see i'm not covering it all the way and then i'm going to remove the tape and here is a look at how this rug turned out [Music] you
