so since the release of the hit film jaws in 1975 people have always felt as though it's not safe to go into the water when they're at the beach in reality shark attacks are fairly rare from 1958 to 2018 only 2785 shark attacks have occurred around the globe with 1104 of those happening in the United States and of those 2785 shark attacks only 35 were fatal still when a shark attack does happen it's scary for everyone involved here are four scary shark attacks that were caught on camera fair warning this is real footage so watch at your own discretion if you're new to this channel and enjoy this video then make sure to subscribe to never miss an upload and leave a like down below during the 2015 world surf leagues J Bay open in South Africa famous Australian surfer Mick Fanning had a scary encounter with a great white shark the footage shows a menacing fin emerging from the waters before Fanning falls into the water fortunately Fanning was able to escape without any injuries he was naturally a bit shaken up but the situation could have ended up far worse in the opening minutes of the final heat of the world surf leagues Jay Bay open in South Africa it wasn't the competition that three times world champion Mick Fanning had to worry about but the wild life as live cameras rolled the 34 year old Australian fought off a shark attack by apparently punching it in the back and lived to tell the tale a group of divers thought they would have a relaxing dive off the brother islands in Egypt however things turned south quickly when an oceanic whitetip shark bit one of the divers in the leg and refused to let go fellow divers quickly intervened to get the shark off and it eventually relented the diver was brought to the surface and rushed to the nearest hospital where he was treated for his injuries [Music] [Music] [Applause] somewhere off the coast of Port Lincoln in South Australia a seven-meter crab boat is minding its own business when a great white decides it's had enough it doesn't take long for the shark to start attacking the boat for seemingly no reason luckily the men were safe on board but had the boat flipped or one of them fallen off this could have been an entirely different story instead they managed to get a drone in the air to capture this incredible footage like you came such a little bit it's fucking kids tall one of the most suspenseful films you'll ever watch is this 2017 video of a kayaker in Monterey Bay California trying to escape the clutches of a great white shark a couple noticed the men had been flipped from his vessel and was being followed by the shark the person filming gene mace tells his wife to call the authorities but for a while all they can do is watch helplessly as the man fights for his life a few minutes passed before a Coast Guard response boat approaches the kayaker the people on board help him onto the boat and away from the shark that is now swimming frantically yeah he is kayak the Sharks pushing it around watch the watch the break the water again she's waving while your odds of being attacked by a shark are low you should always remain vigilant whenever you go into the ocean you never know who might be lurking nearby if you enjoyed this video and want to see more like it then make sure to leave some future video suggestions in the comments down below with that we'll catch you all in the next one [Music]
