I know it's really hard to grow on Tik Tok and Instagram reals especially as a video editor you tried anything and you don't know what to do anymore hopeless luckily I possess the exact knowledge that you need to create super cool short form content effects we're going to create four fast and easy effects starting with something that's easy and beginner friendly and then we're going to level up gradually by the end of this video you got everything you need let's start with level one putting yourself into an old school television so here you can see a clip of an old school TV and on the right you can see a video of me sipping from a cup of coffee first drag the clip of you on top of the old school television then select your video and head over to the effect controls click on the motion properties that will make this box appear around your video and you can use that to scale and position the video until it matches with the screen approximately now the TV screen is scfed and our video is nut so we've got to find a way to recreate it now to do that find the lens Distortion in the effects Library once you found it drag it on your video in the timeline then go to the effects controls on the bottom of the lens Distortion effect disable the fill Alpha then increase the curvature to match it with the curves of the TV screen it's that simple but now we're going to blend the video with the screen to do that go to the opacity property and in the blend mode list find the linear Dodge add blending mode that will blend it with the screen beautifully and we can see the sze way better next we're going to cut off the edges to make your video fit the television go to the effects library and find the crop effect once you found it drag it on top of your clip then in the effect controls it's really important to drag the crop effect on top of the lens Distortion otherwise it's not going to work properly select the crop property and go to the program monitor then adjust the sides until it fits the screen if you want to make this effect even cooler find a static noise clip I got mine from story blocks but i' tell you more about that later drag the noise clip on top of the other videos then make sure it's selected and head over to the effects controls go to opacity and set the blending mode to screen then mess around with the opacity to fine-tune the blend and there you go now click the pen tool to create a mask and go to the program monitor draw a simple mask around the monitor this doesn't have to be super precise then go back to the effect controls and increase the feather a little to smooth it out there you go a super cool effect you can try on Tik Tok now this means you're ready for a magic effect in level two we're going to add some fire to my finger to light a cigarette by the way I don't smoke and I don't encourage anyone to do so here you can find a clip of me acting to light a fake cigarette on fire now to create that effect I'm going to need some fire of course now I actually filmed myself lighting up the lighter in front of a black background but you can also download one from Star blocks that which is going to be a lot easier and safer now in Premiere drag the clip of the flame on top of your video on the exact moment that you ignite your finger then make sure the clip of your flame is selected head over to the effect controls and go to opacity set the blending mode to screen or linear Dutch and as you can see the blacks will disappear of course you can still see my hand and a part of the lighter but let me show you how to remove that in the opacity effect click the pen tool to create a mask then head over to the program Monitor and draw a mask around the flame once you're done go go back to the opacity and play with the Fetter of the Mask this will smooth out the edges next we're going to put the flame onto our finger to do that move the play it to the first frame of the clip Now setting position key frame next click on the motion properties in the effect controls in the program monitor scale the flame down and position it on your finger now you can use your scroll wheel to move further in time then simply adjust the flame and as you can see Premiere will create a second key frame for the scale and position property keep doing that until you're at the end of the clip this will take one or 2 minutes there you go the flame is now track to your finger next move the play it to the moment you want to get rid of the flame then set an opacity key frame go back to the play it and move a little further again then set the opacity to zero there you go that effects looks awesome now you can actually download amazing assets like these from Star blocks by using the plugin inside Premiere just type in whatever you need for example lighter and there you go thousands of assets you can download and use without leaving Premiere oh and this also works in After Effects by the way now star block is also sponsoring this video thank you so much now star block Q rated stock library has everything you need to create high quality video in one place with over a million 4K and HD footage templates music sound effects images and so much more for one predictable subscription cost so you never have to pay an expensive price per clip that you want to download again now by choosing from thousands professional pre-made templates for Premiere After Effects Apple motion and the Vinci resolve you will take your videos to the next level and speed up your creative workflow a lot create better videos with customizable D Vinci resolve templates from Motion Graphics to ated sequences they are essential to creating professional looking videos at scale everything you download with starlux is 100% royalty-free so don't worry about copyright issues or anything like that to get started with unlimited stock media downloads at one set price go to styblo.tv you standing outside and another one of a sky to your preference First grab the play at and move to the moment where you you want the sky replacement to start then set a cut and move the right side of your video one track up now simply Slide the clip of the sky underneath it next we're going to mask out the castle to do that select the clip and go to the effect controls then in opacity click the pen tool to create a mask head over to the program Monitor and start drawing a mask around the castle you can skip the threes on the right for now because it's way too difficult to mask out the gaps in the trees I'll show you how to fix that in a minute let's close the mask and there we go now it's time to color match the shot of the castle with the sky to do that make sure the castle clip is selected go to the window menu on top and find lry color once it's open go to the basic correction tab the sky is very pink so we can push a lot of pink into the castle as well when it's dark outside less colors are being shown so decrease the saturation slider then for the light controls decrease the exposure to literally make it darker outside then increase the contrast to get a deeper look and use the other lightning controls to fine-tune to result but now what about the trees let me show you in the timeline hold down alt and drag your Castle clip one track up then make sure it's selected and go to the effect controls you can simply delete the mask that's already on it then click the pen tool to create a new one in the program monitor draw a mask around the trees like this it doesn't have to be super precise then back in the effect controls increase the Federate bunch then scroll down a little bit and from the blend mode list find darker color there you go next we're going to make the shot a lot more realistic we're going to animate the exposure on the castle to add a lightning effect in the timeline make sure the clip is selected then go to the effect controls and right here you will find till the metry effect we created earlier move the player to the moment where the first lightning will strike then move one frame back now back in the metry set an exposure key frame then move one frame forward and increase the exposure until it matches the lightning brightness then go back to the playet and move a little further in time and decrease the exposure back to the same value as the first key frame this will create a flickering effect now do that for every lightning strike once you have all the key frames we need to copy and paste them onto the trees as well simply select all of them and press contrl Plus see on your keyboard to copy them then go back to the timeline and select the clip with the trees then back to the effect controls and find the exposure property again now move the player to the first frame of the clip and press contrl plus v on your keyboard that will paste the key frames there you go the key frames will now match with the castle that already looks great but I also downloaded this clip of rain on story blocks simply drag it on top of the videos and head over to the effect controls set the blending mode to color Dodge and then play around with the opacity and that's all to it that looks awesome right now this brings us to effect level four a beautiful teleportation effect to do this film yourself in front of the camera jumping in the air then keep the camera rolling and walk to another location in the frame do the same jump again and run out of the shot now it's really important to keep the camera rolling to create an empty shot once you're done drag the entire clip in Premiere find the moment where the empty shot starts and set a cut then move the first clip one track up and put the empty underneath it now go to the moment moment where you jump for the first time when you're at the highest point set a cut then trim the second clip until you reappear in the backgrounds you can now drag the second clip closer to the first one and trim the empty shot as well now this is what we already have great but as you can see you can see a small jump gut at the moment where the video switches to the empty shot this doesn't look so good so we're going to fix that with a mask select the first clip and go to the effect controls then click the pen tool to create a new mask and head over to the program monitor draw a mask around yourself and keep in mind to leave some space because you're jumping then increase the mask fet a lot now go back to the timeline and do the same thing for the second clip as well there you go no more jump Cuts now it's time to create this awesome teleporting effect to do that move the player to a few frames before you disappear and set a cut select a small clip and go to the effect controls then delete the mask that's already on it click the pen tool to create a new one in the program monitor draw a more precise mask around yourself then in the effect controls click the mask pad key frame now select the mask again and go back to the program monitor use the scroll wheel to move further in time and adjust the mask a little keep doing that until you're at the end of the clip now back in the effect controls increase the FEA a little bit to smooth out the edges next we're going to use directional blur but before we do that we're going to need to Nest this clip first otherwise the blur effect won't work right click it and find Nest then click it and give it a name for example jump or something click on okay and there we go now in the effects Library find the directional blur effect and drag it onto the nested sequence in the effect controls set a blur length key frame and grab the play ATS move further in time and increase the blur length a bunch until you're less visible now go to the opacity property and set the opacity to zero then set a key frame move back in time and set the opacity back to 800 this will make you Disappear Completely next set a position key frame move further in time and move the position property up just a little now right click the first key frame and find ease out do that for the other two key frames as well this will make the animation start smooth and go faster now it's time to make ourselves appear again but it's actually the same steps but in Reverse in the timeline move the play at to the moment you're jumping back set a cut again create a rough mask around yourself just like we did before and animate it then again right click the clip and choose Nest head back to the effects library and find the directional blur again drag it on your clip and head over to the effects controls this time we're going to create the same animation but in Reverse move the player to the end of the clip and set the blur length to zero then set an animation key frame also set a key frame for the opacity and another key frame for the position property now grab the play it and move to the first frame of the clip drag the position property up so you will fall out of the sky then scroll down and set the opacity to zero scroll down again and set the blur length to 100 oh and don't forget to ease in the last key frames as well that effect looks so cool but now it's time to level up our masking skills in the video right here on my left thank you guys so much for watching and as always stay creative
