hey everyone my name is Abhishek and today we are going to create this 3D rotating animation in blender it's very easy to create and you can use it for different purposes so let's begin [Music] alright so right now I'm in blender and before we begin at this corner you will be able to see all the keys that I'm pressing on my keyboard in case I forget to mention anything so let's begin so first I'm going to select everything by pressing a and then X to delete everything so here we have the blank area now we will Begin by adding our text first so let's press shift a and let's go under the text and just click on it so over here we have our text now in order to edit this you can press tab to go into the edit mode then you can type whatever you want Motion Graphics once you're done with this you can press tab again to get out of the edit mode now we can play around with couple of these settings so let's go under the text option and from here first I'm going to make this into the center using the alignment so let's set both of these to center now let's go under the font and I'm going to quickly change the font so just click on this and it's completely up to you can pick whatever font you want but for this one I'm going to use this monster at black so just select this and click on open font now let's quickly add some depth to this so in order to do that you can go under the geometry and from here you can increase the extrude amount and for this one I'm going to set this to 0.03 so here you can see we have our text and we have little bit of Extrusion perfect now let's add a cube on which we are going to place our text so let's press shift a and let's go to the mesh and then let's add a cube now we can select the text and let's press g z to move it to the top something like that now you can go to the top view by clicking on this set or you can press numpad 7 something like this let's scale this up and I'm going to press s to scale our text and I'm going to scale it somewhere around here so you can see that its size is 10.8 and we can increase the size of this Cube as well so I'm going to select this and let's increase its size along the x-axis and I'm going to set this to 11. now this size is completely depending upon your text so if you have a smaller text and you can make this smaller but if you have a longer text then you can make this longer as well just remember this value because we will use this later on so once you are done with this we can probably move around and let's quickly place it on top of this Cube so in order to do that let's go to the side view so you can click over here now you can zoom in and let's select this you can press g z and we can just move it somewhere around here and let's place it something like that so that it's Bradley on top of it perfect now you can zoom out and we are ready to add the text onto each side of this Cube so in order to do that we are going to use an array modifier and let's select our text and in order to add this let's go under the modifiers and let's add an array modifier and we are going to change this from relative offset and we are going to use an object offset and for this one we have to select an object so let's quickly create one so I'm going to press shift a and let's add a empty object so that we can control the array so once you have added into your scene we can probably select this so now we can select the object and we can select the empty which we just created so here you can see we have the empty and we can increase the number of counts to 4 because we have four sides so now we can probably close this Cube so I'm going to select this and let's turn this off so here you can see we have four copies of our text and you will notice that all of these are decreasing in size so so in order to fix that he can probably select this and press Ctrl a to apply and let's apply just the scale something like this and once we're done with this we are ready to play around with this empty object so let me just quickly select this empty and we can play around with the angle so let's quickly set this to something like 90. so here you can see we have aligned all of these copies into this manner now let's quickly enable the cube and let's align all of them to the faces of this Cube so in order to do that we are going to make use of this main text so let's select our main text and over here you can see we have this Z value so we want this exact value to be at our empty so let's just simply copy this and let's select the empty and you can play around with different axes to see how these texts will react and over here you can see if I change the Y property you can see all of these text will be aligned to this surface now you know to stick them perfectly to this side we are going to just simply paste the Z value which we just copied and just make sure to add negative in front of it so that all of these text are aligned perfectly with our sites so before we proceed a lot of you watching right now have not subscribed to my channel and I want you to please do that because I want to hit 100K subscriber this year on my channel so make sure to subscribe and press the Bell icon so let's continue so once you're done with this we are ready to add some subdivision to our Cube so in order to do that let's select the cube play now you can press tab to go inside the edit mode now we are going to first delete these two faces at the edge so let's select the face select tool and now you can click and you can press X and let's delete the faces and we can do the same thing over here as well so let's select this one press X to delete the faces so here you can see we have our shape now you can press a to select everything then you can right click and let's click on subdivide now you can open this menu and from here you can subdivide it quite few times let's subdivide it something like five times so once that I'm done with this you can press tab again and we are pretty much done with that basic shape now at this point if you want you can edit your text but after this step you won't be able to do that so if you want to make any changes to the text just make sure to do that and once you're happy with everything you can select your text and you can press F3 in order to convert this to a mesh we are going to search for convert and let's click on convert to mesh and you can see that all of these are converted into mesh and we have all the modifiers applied automatically now our next step is to join this text and this Cube but before that we have to apply materials to them separately so first I'm going to select this Cube and let's quickly add a material so let's code under the material Tab and let's click on new and I'm going to quickly call this base and we can choose whatever color you want let's make this little bit of orange just like that now let's select the text and on this one we are going to click on new and let's add a material on this one as well let's call this text and I'm going to make this white so let's set this to white as well now if you want you can quickly go inside the look def mode and you can see that all the colors are already applied and we are ready to join both of them so in order to do that let's select the text and after that you can hold down the shift key and you can click on the cube make sure to select the text first and after that queue and once you have selected both of them you can go under the object and from here you can join or you can press Ctrl J to do that let's click on join so now you can see we have this single object and we can see that the text is engraved onto these sites and we are ready to add some modifiers to this so first I am going to select the empty we don't need this and I'm going to delete it by pressing X now let's select this block and on this one we are going to apply first array modify so let's apply array modifier and over here you can see we can increase the number of copies and you can see that it will keep on adding the length something like this but I want these to extend into the opposite direction so in order to do that I am going to just add negative 1 to this so instead of plus 1 we have this minus 1 now you can increase the count so I'm going to set this to something like 10. for now and you can see that we have this long line now let's quickly change this to the look def mode so that we can see what we have created so far so we have this long line of all of these text and shape and now we can add some bending to this so in order to do that let's select this and let's go into the modifier and I'm going to add a simple deform modifier and over here you can see we have a couple of these settings let me just quickly close this up and you can see we have Bend taper stretch for this one I'm going to select the Twist and you can see we have this twist angle so if I increase this you can see that we are able to add some twisting to our shape something like this now if you want to increase this you can just play around with the angle you can manually type as well so I am going to type 720 you can see that we have added more twisting and in the same way you can increase this however you want you can just play around with this value but for this one let's set this to 720 for now now if you're working on any other axis then you have to play around with these so you can see that if you are working in a wrong axis then it will give you some results like this but if you're working in correct access then you can see that it will twist it according to that so make sure to select the axis which you are working in so right now you can see we are able to see little bit of hard edges so not fix that we can select this and right click let's click on shade smooth and sometimes you will notice some hard Cuts over here so in order to fix that what you can do so you can see that we are able to see one over here as well so we can easily see two different surfaces so in order to fix that what you can do is you can go under the array and from here we have this option called merge so just check this out so you can see that now we have the seamless join so all of these will be joined perfectly now we can probably add some camera to see and animate this so in order to do that let's press shift a and let's add a camera so we have the camera in our scene let me just quickly move it along the y-axis so press G5 and let's move it somewhere around here and let's play around with the Angles and I'm going to set everything to zero now we can move it and let's set the x value to 90. now you can press numpad 0 to get inside the camera and you can go under the view and from here you can select the lock camera to view now you can move your cursor and you can place the camera wherever you want according to your scene so let's pick this one and our next step is to quickly animate this out so in order to do that I'm going to just open up my timeline and first we are going to animate its position only so I'm going to select this one and let's go under the items now in Auto animate its position we are going to play around with the x-axis because we are working in that but if you are working in y or Z then you can use these X's as well so let's set this to 0 and at the beginning I'm going to add a keyframe so in order to do that right click and let's add a single key okay now we can select this and let's move it to somewhere around 120 and after that I am going to move it to this direction but if you want you can move it to the opposite one as well but over here you can see we don't have extended length on this side so that's why I'm going to move it to the opposite one now the equation is how far we have to move in or to create a perfect Loop so if you recall I asked you to remember the size of the cube so it was 11 and after trying a lot I figure out that in order to make this into a perfect Loop you have to set this value to something like 55 and after that let's right click and let's insert a single keyframe now let's see if we have created a perfect Loop so in order to do that I am going to just set this to 120 which is the last frame and let's place it over here now if I play back you can see that it will stop because our keyframes are busy so in order to change them we can select all of them then you can press T and from here let's set this to linear now if I play back here you can see that our shape will keep on moving and you can see that it has a perfect Loop now the final value of this distance will depend upon the size of your shape so if you have a size of 10 then you will have to add 50 and so on so we are pretty much done with this and let's add some rotation to this so rotation is very simple all we have to do is just go to the very beginning and let's select this one and we can pick the axis on which we want to rotate so for me it's x-axis so let's select this and insert a single keyframe again let's go to 120 and from here you can select this and let's set this to 360 and you can right click insert single keyframe Alpha playback here you can see that it will start moving and you will notice that it is not rotating much so in order to do that we can probably increase this so let's set this to something like 720 let's right click and let's replace single keyframe and let's select all of them press T make sure that this is set to linear now for playback here you can see it is rotating nicely now if you want to add more twist then you can just simply increase the angle value and you can just add 360 to this one as well so we have this thing and now you can see we have added more twist to this and you can add the rotation over here as well so let's add 360 to this and after that make sure to right click and add replace single keyframe so here you can see if we have this and it is moving very fast now you can fix that by simply increasing the distance between these so in order to do that let's set this to something like 300 and I'm going to select these last keyframes so let's select them press G and let's move them and I'm going to place them to somewhere around 300 so now if I play back here you can see we have this very nice smooth motion which is looking perfect so here you can see we are done with this now if you want to add more of these kind of of motion then you can just simply select this and you can press shift d so here you can see we have duplicate this now you can press g z and you can move the copy to the top something like that again you can select this press shift d then you can press g z and you can move the copy to the bottom as well something like that now if I play back here you can see we have added three copies and the best thing is that you can move your camera however you want and you can place it at whatever angle you like and all of these will be in perfect Loop something like this so let's select a nice angle something like this and once you're happy with this we are ready to add some lighting to our scene so let's quickly set select the rendering Tab and from here we are going to change couple of these settings so let's go under the render properties and for this one I'm going to use EV but if you want you can use Cycles as well let's enable ambient occlusion and let's enable screen space Reflections let's open this up and I'm going to uncheck half rest so once you are done with this we are ready to add some lights to our scene so in order to do that you can press shift a and from here you can go under the light and I'm going to add an area light let's press numpad 0 to get out of the camera so here we have our light let's press s to scale this up quite a bit something like this now you can press g z and let's move this to the top something like that now let's increase its strength so in order to do that let's go under the light property and I'm going to set the power to something like 10 000. and here you can see we have this really nice Lighting in our scene now I can press numpad 0 to get inside the camera you can play around with the position of the light and you can move it here and there something like this but for this one I'm going to stick with this now you can also add some contact shadow in order to do that make sure your light is selected and if you go under the shadows you can see we have this option called Contact Shadows so just enable this and you can see that it will add some really nice contact Shadow with your text so once you're done with this we can also add an hdri to make this really nice so let me just quickly select this and let's change this to Shader editor and from here I'm going to change this to world and over here we have the world Tab and the background so I'm going to add the environment node so you can press shift a let's search for environment texture so let's open this up let's click on open now I have downloaded couple of these hdrs from polyhaven these are completely free and I will put a link in the description from where you can download any of these hdri so for this one I'm going to use this so let's select this click on open image now I'm going to plug the color into the color and right away you can see we are able to see some really nice results so I think this strength is too much so I'm going to set this to something like 0.5 or let's set this to 0.25 Maybe let's increase this little bit just like that so here you can see we have really nice lighting into our scene now I'm going to select this and let's play around with couple of these colors so let's select this and let's go under the colors and from here you can pick whatever color you want you can pick blue white dark whatever you want you can you can also change the text color and you can see that all of these will be updated at once but for this one I'm going to set this to White and let's select this one and let's make this little bit Orange just like that now over here we have couple of these properties so first I'm going to increase the metallic so if you want you can just make this completely one but for this one I'm going to set this to somewhere around here now we have the roughness if you set this to zero you can see that now this is very reflective if you want to go with this look it's completely up to you but for this one I'm going to set this to somewhere in the middle just like that so here you can see we have added some really nice colors again you can pick whatever colors you want so you are pretty much done with your scene and you have added all the animations now let's see how to render this out so let me just quickly add some space over here so let's go under the render settings so over here you can select the format so I'm going to render 1920 by 1080 frame rate you can set this to 24 and the end frame you can pick whatever frame you have so I have this 300 so I'm going to set this to 300 as well now output you can select whatever output folder you want and after that you can select the RGB okay and let's set the compression to zero color depth you can set this to 16 or 8. now if you want to have the transparent background then you can go under the rendering properties and from here go under the fill from here you can check out the transparent now it will render out this with the alpha background so you can place it on top of anything you want but if you uncheck this then it will render the pattern which you are seeing right now but if you want transparent one then you can check this one and once you're done with this you are ready to render this out after that all you have to do is just go to render and just click on render animation and it will save the sequence of images and after that you can combine them in After Effects or whatever software you have and you can use it wherever you want so this is how you can create these kind of rotating text animations I hope you learned something from this video and the project files for this tutorial is available on patreon so if you are supporting me over there then you can download it from there and if you are not then you might consider it because you will get access to tutorial project files and exclusive templates that are available only on patreon so with that being said my name is Abhishek and I'll see you in the next one [Music]
