clicking program with Kurtis Akers my name and your name would be Paula again Paul Eakins over at Mary and holy matrimony of wonderful 23 years of marital bliss alright the time they're taping this program later when you see this program but right now is 20 but it won't be earlier that's the show yeah it won't be less than 23 hours okay but today but today today we're going to be doing fast food cooking okay wait a minute now faster and make some unhealthy no no no because I'm going to tell them why but basically I want my my individuals who do fast food eat fast okay to say well I think I'm gonna watch the show today okay we're going there's our Emma we got it so if you take a lot of time oh yeah no no it takes a little bit of time but basically it's fast food for a reason I'll be discussing that when we oh okay all right well let's go to the recipe that's a time oh okay we're going to making a banana strawberry smoothie and we're going to making these oat burgers order a well-planned spicy potato wedges hmm and we're going to finish up with this silken tofu pie with a blueberry Tyler bye good okay gonna be fast food so the burgers steaks and try but you know when you think about fast food as people think are lightly burgers shakes fried and then of course maybe some kind of a dessert that you know they okay for desserts alright I deserve on there as well okay all right sounds good honey now these recipes you develop yourself yes over to you yeah and I'm a I have the awesome task folks really tasting and sampling these recipes just it's an awesome job I'm up to my ankles but I mean I willing to do it I couldn't never know every now and then when you talk about that somebody says I'd like to be at your house doing that job yeah what one God did it can Paula come home so nobody we don't really play that but I had to talk to them off camera right away yeah what this would appreciate their use meals you've been providing for me for the over 23 years yeah well I want one of the reasons why we're doing this fast-food curse a couple things going on number one is that when I meet people they'll say things to me like you know my family has come over - the house is staying about a week on vacation and they'll say things like and I try to fix the foods that we fix normally now right and I understand that because you know because we're vegan vegetarians and we have a different kind of format than most of people eat all right no milk no eggs no cheese that clamp a plant-based you always say plant-based right and one of the things that happens is that people meet me and they'll say things like you know I've got family coming in and when they come over they will not eat my food and I say you know I had the same problem I remember one time we had some friends that came to visit with us and I'm normally fixing stuff everybody loves the food right and on this particular situation a couple days in they weren't they didn't seem very happy oh really younger younger young agent seemed very happy now they they kind of they ate it and they were ok with it but they weren't happy with it and so that kind of first of all it kind of hurt feelings a little bit you're not saying but then I said you know what let me call my daughter you know every time something goes down it's kind of different always call my daughter up you know we call our daughter's room talk to her about it and so we called and talked to her about that and um she said mommy mommy remember people who come to visit with you are not going to eat the same way you do they'll even believe in the same things you believe in but they definitely not gonna eat the way you eat so you know you might need a look at their super foods now super foods for those you don't know where those are foods you grow up with or foods you like and you're not ready to exchange them out so in this situation she said mommy fix the foods that people like and because they were younger okay what do they like it were teenagers so majors yes hot dogs mm-hmm spaghetti with a pizza night I believe we had pizza not like your own build your own people were involved we clean everything around and then one of evenings we said tonight we're going to fast food that's it are we going to go out now we're going to do fast food here to help though all the things that people normally like Curtis the daylight from a fast food place we decide to fix on the show that's true and they ate it up hey I remember by the third day though one of the young people said you know what I'm gonna meat eaters she says yes yeah I don't even miss the meat don't miss the meat because you have something in this place something better and when they got ready to go home the thing that was so amazing when you got really go home they said would you could you fix another one of those our pies that you fix before that's amazing to me because they just love the food so it's all about when people come over not trying to always push your stuff but try to think about what they like and then fixing foods are healthy but foods that they like it's the same thing when we talk about jail twice and also food that they're familiar with far the appearance is concerned the efficacy a burger it may be healthy but if it looks green people don't eat green burgers so it may be healthy it may even taste good right but got Piersol a green split pea burger is not going to be appetizing been there done that yes we have been there done that okay okay so today then we're going to start off with our smoothie okay and I like the fact that it is it's very very good just delicious and so let's look at the actual ingredients for this one it calls for one banana and one cup of frozen strawberries and a half a cup of orange juice oh those writers you can't get no quicker than that of fast food that that's fast Oh God and sometimes people make their shakes and stuff they'll make it with almond milk or soy milk or rice milk okay but I really wanted to be more like more of a fruity kind of a drink okay so that's why we doing the orange juice in this place however you can use almond milk rice milk soy milk as a place of that all right but we're gonna be doing aren't you so let's bring it on over here so we are on this one we have our blender is real quick and so easy Curtis to do alright so we gonna take that top off and I'm going to go ahead on import in the juice yeah so I'm going in a hundred percent 100% orange juice and we're going to go ahead on and get that banana in there and I love that because the banana now I'm going to tell you there are times when people say things to me like you know um I can't do bananas so guess what you won't be doing this recipe no no no no so when I say I can't do banana I think but guess what you can take pears Oh chop them up real fine put them in the freezer you can use payors okay you can take an apple chop it real fine keep it skin in a freezer okay well when they can't do banana they could do the pass they could do the Apple but you still get the same kind of personality right okay we're going to go ahead and put in our strawberries now these can be real or frozen orders they can be froze over in America it does not matter okay oh it doesn't matter it is a quick one of those things to fix you put the top on her okay and we're ready to go and we are ready to go I'll put this on what honey let's just push the button all right and you can see it's already made up let's go ahead one more time with that Chris I'm going to push it on a faster one now it looks like a strawberry milkshake everybody does okay so you want to make sure that when you're making it up you know now you know when I make it I made it up and I didn't see all something went into it so they'd want to drink it they're like this is really good really a milkshake what strawberry milkshake looks this color so I put it in glasses yes put them in like drink glasses you know and so that made a difference also make the drink um you know good so I made that game out there if you can have the strawberries we're frozen the bananas froze would be more thicker or would it make no no no no these are smoothies so for the smoothie or siglemic right right and and for smoothie you want to be more of like a soft milkshake okay if I want to make this into ice cream if I want to ice cream with this and what our curves I'd actually freeze the strawberries and the bananas freeze them okay then put them in there all right nice and it will turn into like a sorbet okay or like a soft ice cream same thing alright good now we're trying to get that illusion of looking like a milkshake more like and I know I left a little there because I knew Curtis and even though we can even even know I need one I say something I just said you know what before you start it up and I like the harder before you you know I I want to taste it and see what that's like and I'm saying I get the residuals from the blender huh no you get the rest of it so that we can make sure that we have enough are that will mess up the other two in the glass that's right okay okay here's your straw oh I was just coming up and you're all good are you going to be gonna you're going to do like you're supposed to do on tennis case okay so I want to go and do it right now it's a little bit suck if I want to taste it - okay you want to get a close-up of my expression of this and then mmm nice you're good okay don't forget to save me some okay I can anything which I didn't blow into bubbles either so yeah mmm yeah yeah yeah you don't do any sugar nope no sugar and you know what when I'm going to serve it to them what I do is I put a straw in it so it looks just like what they're used to going oh okay actually go there you go alright our bananas draw our berry smoothie garridebs alright and nano strawberry smoothie bathroom fast food we got to say that fast food is times go to the next one curves because all right one it's how are we going to do that burger all right for 2 cups of water 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper which is optional 5 tablespoons of soy soft light 1 and 1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats 2 tablespoons of olive oil 1/2 cup of instant oats 1 tablespoon of honey 1/2 cup of textured vegetable protein and 2 teaspoons of onion powder 1/2 cup of pecan meal 1 teaspoon of garlic powder 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning we're very excited about this particular recipe Curtis because you know we wanna make a burger up alright and it's got to be a flavorful burger alright so we got lots of good flavors bold move on yeah I'm going to I'm going to turn it on I'm going to hit get turned on so we can get this water going for this particular one because does that I make the seasoning we're going to put together actually in this one Peter Pienaar people when you say oat meal burger I mean the word oat meal yeah burger yeah a lot of people is hard to conceptualize oatmeal in a burger so I know we want to talk about why we don't talk about why we have to do that you know to make this burger stick together remember now we're not using any eggs so we're not using any milk or you name is product so something's got to stick together all right there I want to go ahead put my water in this is by 2 cups of water because that's the beginning of it alright and then what I'm going to do cause I'm going to begin to add in all the other seasonings so if you would at this point you can go ahead on and put in for me or call the soy sauce light or I can do that go ahead and put that in soy sauce soy sauce light that's going to go in and and if they don't want to use soy sauce light they can always use the Bragg Liquid aminos all right I'm kind of Hickory flavor so I'm gonna put that in there alright and let's go ahead and put in the olive oil is going in okay alright oil right in there uh-huh get all the goodies alright we're going to go ahead and put in also the audience outer and the garlic powder because yeah this would Google some yeah yeah way we're here I as aa college and garlic it all in powder haha and we go ahead and put a little bit of honey in there also all right and on the scoot that end okay yeah you're gonna make a new so burgers for a long while for a while okay another messy Italian seasoning in there also means that flavor it needs to have yeah and then you're going to put in I said it's optional about the Cayenne but we're gonna go this a little kick just a little kick go ahead without in there this is what one fourth yeah just one fourth one for tad bit of 180 alright all of that okay alright so this is going to go a stir around now we've got the seasonings in here the part that really brings asperger to life and that is we're going to add the different ingredients number one is we're going to add in the old-fashioned oats oats is going to give us that texture we need to have like a burger alright so so this is old-fashioned alright old fashioned all right put that in and we're going to have the instant oats now the instant oats curves oh no so water both explained me I'm doing the old-fashioned oats because it takes a little longer to cook number one and number two it's not going to grab the war like the instant oh it will do so the instant oat is the one we're going to be using to actually give us that that texture we need like an egg if any product itself so you know you need you need both old-fashioned get instant together alright in there alright so you must help both okay we got you all right and you can see already it sought to get thicker mmm yeah yeah yeah and look at they go around a little bit there and now we get rid of add in the ingredients to help it to make it act like look like smell like a burger alright so the brown is coming in and we're just right here two items we have the pecan meal okay okay I also have the internet about the pecan now suppose someone has a problem and obtaining pecan meal can you walk through what can a person do okay it's a hard to find pecan meal if you have a friend if you have a friend econ tree or a good navy come friends with them and ask them for some of the P comes okay I knew that was coming around a holiday time is when I really buy my I really buy them around the winter you know in time wrong Christmas Thanksgiving Christmas time we should buy my nuts and stuff at that time because they're usually more reasonable and you can actually find a lot of the different things you can't find ordinarily okay you get the P cost and then just run them up in a blender in a blender can't you help pick on me and go ahead and put that on so let's go ahead and do that Camille so this at little I guess a binder and texture to it extra oil a good mouthfeel you can see it so your monger now yet and the last one is TVP textured vegetable protein canola let's talk about that because this may be new to a lot of people who may be watching this for the first time TVP and there's tsp let's talk about the simple reposition all right so now the textured vegetable protein okay is actually soy days are short base water is a protein of course number one okay and it's a dry ingredient because we want to give assimilation of that of ground beef so what happens at TVP the minute you add hot water to it it swells up and it crumbles up like ground beef okay guys are we gonna be putting that in there because you gotta have that texture once again that when they're actually biting into the burger so I have a mouth feel that's my mouth that's right and also the color and also the text color and texture you can already see from what I'm doing here is that the coloring is just like a burger yeah looks like a burger alright you go but not okay boy look my life is getting more thick and big yes okay now what'd you do with that Curtis is when I do this one here I make it up and don't let it sit for a while all right before I start trying to make the bird because you know you already can see is too hot to make a burger alright but because we're on 3abn TV and we love doing things quick and fast what we're going to do is we're going to actually bring out it looking like when it's already cool already cooled off here and put this up alright put that up and so basically what you're going to have is just going to look like that when is cold all right so we have we gone from one texture which is the one we're doing here and it's got to get cool before you can make the burgers up and then we're going to actually make the burgers itself so we have our opinions and we're going to spray our pan little bit with some olive oil so this right here in the bowl that is that has already been cool ass right right then cool down that way our hot hand okay and make it up alright and I'm going to be taking also my scoop oh and I'm going to be using a little bit of spray on my hand so it won't really stick to me so now we're making the burger making the burger so you can make it any size I guess I'll take it you want to make it the size of a burger because if it doesn't look like a burger you know you want to make it the same size a burger would be how you say something in your cooking class we've been doing quite often that the one thing you hate is when you bite down into a burger and a bomb when you bite down to you want to get the burger with the bomb you don't want to buy gone to a bomb like that you 1/4 of a burger in there you want the Harger you want the burger all we come to the edge of the bomb yes you're the edge yeah and that's why I'm throwing it down and I make it like I want to make it here that's the size of a button Mr Bond to go on ok check that out yeah ok and we'll make another one mmm notice now I'm putting on a cookie sheet all right I put on the cookie sheet because they're going to go in the oven I'm not even going to pry them they're going to go in the oven and when they go in the oven the oven is going to get them ready okay I was all agree 375 degrees the other itself and it goes about mmm about almost 15 minutes it'll Brown the burger on both sides I kind of go in there and then I just flip it around but the main thing is you want to look like a bird meaning that okay you know I'm saying I will fit the bug that will fit the line now can you also make sausages or yes I'm glad you asked that question yeah because sometime when I'm cooking I do more than just one item like I know I might be making burgers I might be making like maybe meatballs I might be making sausages well within the Saint mo you can expands up the ingredients or work now if I want to make sausages out of it what I will do is I actually just take and put sage in it and basil make sausage just taste like sauce yes oh they make that up that way as well okay I noticed that while I'm doing this you weren't like volunteering or anything like that to help make the burger I don't see somebody have to have their hands dry so that I can move things around so yeah I mean you're going to find job to them by the way well praise the Lord you're going to improve thank you I'll be pulling for you too I'm glad yeah okay and for that we're going to give you the smaller brother nothing on my hand so you want to make sure that it's nice and cool and then you're going to take your scoop and you're going to make it into a burger I find you see how nice and pliable it is it actually matches down if I want to make this into like a meatball I would just make them into a round ball like Dustin's so mmm okay so it's like meatballs Wow like a meatball if you want to make it to a meatball you can do that and then you can set them on the tray all right now let's say you want to make a sausage out of it sometime we do waffles you know on a Sunday or you know brunch time well if you want to make a sausage out of it this is so versatile then you can make a sausage oh okay sausage yeah yeah all right very versatile so you can see it's very very versatile this is going to go in the oven at 375 degrees and then you're going to turn move on the other side at the end of the program they'll get a chance to see the burger so this is not being cooked in the skillet or no no browning in the skillet it's actually going to go in the oven Oh Matt neat yeah yeah that way customer and also we don't have it a little bit olive oil in there and uh when we do in the oven and you don't want to go past the amount of time we said because if you do it'll dry out on you okay it's going to go any oven just like this and then when about 10 minutes in we're going to flip it over because it's 375 degrees it's going to flip it over and brown the other side as well and at the end of the program guess what you know when you do a burger you have to have a burger bun you got to have tomatoes you have to have onions lettuce all and so you know and or we've got that milkshake and buddha-dharma now we've now does a burger we've done the burger you have a lot of burgers in your cookbook I'm not I'm not just one you have several types of burgers this is a bit more versatile this particular one is a nice versatile one I have one also deal with a bundle beans and I also make the same kind of thing all right okay but now we did a surgery okay yeah and then we've done the burgers do the burger now what is missing how about fries okay so we're going to go there so we're going to have two baking potatoes cut into wedges one tablespoon of paprika two tablespoons of olive oil one teaspoon of coriander two garlic cloves crushed and a half a teaspoon of sea salt okay well I'm really excited about this one curl because they love potatoes baby pretty laboratory you know come and speak about I am a potato head isn't proud of it sweet potatoes three potatoes white potatoes yes sometimes I go to a restaurant uhnowhere I'll get a baked potato and also potato salad and also potato wedges I realized wait a minute I got three types of potatoes I don't ever have to worry about trying to fill him up because if I've got potatoes at the house he is good to go I'm good to go right so this one is a spicy potato because you want a little bit more spicier because the fact that once again we have we're doing this fast food cooking and by being faster cooking you want a little bit more seasoning to it as well alright and I think about this style ooh honey one of the things about the pastor of course now with the shake you have the milk you have the cholesterol saturated fat right and with the burger you also have cholesterol in the saturated fat where we eliminate both of those are items in both of those ingredients and then also thirdly with the French fry that's going to be deep fat with the Prince v yep so now there's going to be a healthy alternative but yet still have a good mouthfeel and also satisfy the taste as well because you really have to remember that even if you're changing things out even if it's vegetarian cooking if it doesn't have the flavor mm-hmm it's going to go in 13 that's a trash can it even throw it away when your back is turned I'll throw it away you know so the bottom line was once again I try to figure out my daughter said mommy what else I said okay we got the french fries going in there like we're going to the french fries we're going to bake them in the oven okay so that's going to be something neat and the other thing is Curtis I have my potatoes here and there's two things I've done number one is it I've already and you know I took the skin off of it because memory don't rich fries okay of course now let's talk about what what type of potato I'm gonna ask that people yeah this is a baking potato it's not matter you and I you know once I do it I put it in a cold water and I'm going to actually be cutting it into wedges so it's gonna take like four wedges over so let's just go one down here and we're going to go one here and then we're gonna do one here Oh see all right and so we got our four all right and nice size nine commerce are my size and we going to do another one same way same way same way and they stay in cold water so they won't turn on you know come eternal oxidation on them turn brown on you okay and that's not going to work alright so we got the wedges here so you're submitting potatoes I'm going to put these now let me show you something this this is totally different from what I have here so I'm not going to even use these right now I'm going to put them back in the water cuz I'm gonna talk about these okay one of the things I'm not any type of potatoes right say imitate oh but let me tell you I did when you're doing the potatoes if you want them to cook faster and you want them to have that Chris penis and you want to get rid of some of that starch so that the taste won't stick together when you put them in the oven then you're actually going to put them you're going to cut them up put them in coal like I have here and then this whole thing is going to go into a pot and sit on top of the stove it is on a stove that comes to a boil that's all in our recipe it goes to a boil and we're going to let it actually then turn it down and simmer it for about 8 minutes mmm then when you get done you have this Curtis these potatoes notice the difference between the time they are ready just about started cooking right all right 8 minutes in 8 minutes in a pot alright so what they get done remember now we trying to keep this from sticking together and also they will hold the ingredient better than trying to do it straight from this potato like that alright so you're going to cook it on a stove for 8 minutes like I said before bring it to a boil then you're going to turn it down let it simmer when it comes out now when you bring them out you're going to take a paper towel and you're going to take and get the water off of them so that voila you actually want to Pavin the potatoes like this ok all right like almost 10 minutes into getting ready so you're not going to take as long to cook in the oven ok we're going to go ahead and put them in a bowl alright alright all potatoes in okay I left behind all right now no the part I like we're going to take now and we're going to drizzle drizzle on top of that the actual you know what let's do something a little bit different yorkers let's put this here and then we're going to pour on top alright so they're going to take the olive oil I'm going to put in here olive oil yummy yummy okay and now let's go ahead on and put in the peppery crap I'll get my little fork out here mm-hmm all right get all the goodies in there okay and then we're going to put in the chorion de hmm all right this is the seasoning to make them spicy they were going to put in the crushed garlic get my for can get some out of there so this is the ingredients for the mixer circle based Danny potatoes that's right and there's a small ball yes and cuts all my line okay now this is what's going to really bring these to life so with the movies out the way so that we can actually then begin to put this over top of the potatoes we don't just drizzled almost on a drizzle on top okay mm-hmm okay want all the goodies out all the good world mixture goodies out let me just get my spatula make sure he hit all no we did a show one time and I met a little girl her name was miracle or they're away and she said to her mother she found that we were going to be at one place we were doing it and we'll talk about that another time but anyway she wanted to cook in the kitchen with me and the thing that was so amazing was she had all my mime antics down packed and she said get all the goodies out mm-hmm said the same yeah see the head like put our hand on the hip you know this I don't think I do all that but that's what people don't know you do that without their neck going from side to side is what what maybe 10 12 years old yes yes yes yes yes I see that and I was nice and basted nice and baste it yeah right okay and sometime you know what cuz on TV I'm just using a spatula but most time I take my hands are going in just do it myself but anyway yeah and then you're going to go ahead and put them on a cookie sheet oh okay right mm-hmm the name of the game is they you want to make sure they lay flat you want spread them out okay lay them flat good okay and they are not going to do not going to touch each other I mean want to touch each other not going to stick to each other because of the method we use are not her so I lay them down flat and I just like to go ahead and make or they're down this will take the rest of the season here yeah so now this goes in the oven 400 degrees one degree off for how long for about 10 minutes turn it over you want to turn it over over and over so you know you're going to get some of the potatoes done on one side you want make sure you're done on both sides so they look like a regular french fried potatoes okay all right so this is really easy to do you can see that and since you're the potato guy you know I know that you know this house would be a potato head okay so just remembering once again it's an easier quicker way you know if I did you suit them before but just take them out like this and put them on a pan and put them in the oven takes a longer time many get stuck but when I really discovered this one here about how to actually do this method then I found out it really looks a lot better and you'll see that at the end of the program is quite a lot of people just do potatoes hunting just maybe a little salt no yes I mean else season just with salt a little sea salt nuts about it but this has more flavor to it at the fact now the people are doing a lot more seasoning there and this one here has the chorion de and also the paprika but you can also add other herbs to it as well any other herb any other combination just be you know resourceful but remember because we're trying to you know meet the demands of the person who likes to eat fast food and you don't want to get too crazy with it want to just make sure that this is helping to turn like that golden brown right we'll just like like with potatoes that are actually coming from a fast food place okay now would you put this on the top leg or the bottom rail top rack hopper at 400 degrees and then you're going to go into 10 minutes first and then then you want to turn them over and then do another 10 minutes okay 20 minutes total and if you find I mean I dip it over the difference so if you find it still not quite tender enough because whenever we also boil them first but if you find that just go a little bit longer a little bit longer but the main thing is they gonna turn that brown golden brown and you'll see at the end of the program as well so friends are artists not fried I see print bags not fried there you go okay now our next of all no cholesterol saturated fat now so we have our sake yes we have our burger yes we have our pride now but a coup de Gras coup de Gras I have something the desert is or it desert okay the second beauties are two dice is there yeah it's going to be a silken tofu power watch out now for two containers of tofu extra firm and one cup of walnuts 3/4 cups of maple syrup a 1/2 cup of pitted dates chopped 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring 1 cup of rolled oats 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt and two tablespoons of clear gel instant okay now this is the part I like of course is the dessert part you know I remember around to do classes before I'd never had desserts in my classes and people would always say you know well they don't need dessert your affair together yes we do we do yes we do yes we do so this is another one person we're going to do assimilation of something like a cheesecake but not really a cheesecake okay because of the increase we're going to be using we're not going to use cheese but I'm going to do a different kind of a cross and this cross is actually going to be using we're going to take our old-fashioned oats and we're going to turn those oats into a oat flour I'm old-fashioned or old-fashioned oats into oat flour okay not accurate but old-fashioned old-fashioned these are old familar right okay let's take this off okay and we're going to go ahead and put that in so this is the crust we're making first across we're making fresh you're gonna turn it into oat flour first oh okay and I'll bring this alright now hop that all and we're going to turn that into oat flour okay [Laughter] and we look at that this a little bit more a little bit more anymore yeah I want to make sure all is completely into a flower I don't really see that okay I found two sometimes let me just do this buddy no leave it all and time just pulsing or false or altered all right okay right very good flower now go ahead and put the walnuts in oh why nots okay why nots gone in so I kind of give you that oil-based it's not going to be present no oils in this recipe so pulse again oh great waiting for the day ten dates okay all right alrighty I would put you in here cuz you're my date okay well I'm going to be a different type of cross wouldn't ya well I don't think that will work out too well okay you might get some phone calls also on that one glad you won already okay okay okay all right hold that limit no no top off take a couple ok Paul we're doing is we're just continuing to now let me just do a couple polls panic okay cuz we're now going to get like a crumble and I've still got some a little bit of baking I want to go ahead and all that out of there alright take that out and what we're going to do curves we're going to actually take that now we're going to make our cross from there I'll go ahead and put it in there all right all right all the goodies develop all the goodies have it happen there you go okay don't keep it's good enough all right now now we just want to cause it to get more liquid in the actual sytems of it the side of the pie pan and that's going to help to moisten it as well I'm going to take this all think that one was laying over Elmo you haven't done a topping for that good line then get rid of all the that minion so closers done cross its time see how easy that is very easy very very quick okay pass through cooking a specific fast food cooking including a dessert mmm-hmm now we gonna sit that there because I'm going to use that in a few more cards now we're going to put in our tofu let go in there just go ahead and go now again this is what extra-fine farms about what this is a firm firm tofu tofu we're going to go ahead and put that in and get this out here and I like just kind of cut it up a little bit because it's a firm tofu you drain a little bit or you want yeah I drained it ain't no I drain the water off a little bit on this a little bit do it here just right in here okay just a little bit okay I always rinse a tofu off you know I've already rinsed it off and everything it has automatic go ahead and put those in there for me okay okay there you go and this is also a real easy simple dessert as well okay and now we're going to put in already one time spread it around a little bit spread it around a little bit no no no no spread just a row thread around okay all right now we're going to put in the maple syrup okay maples for going in mm-hmm all the way around the circle okay and then we're going to put in and you can his little scoop scoop that Allah what I read when I got one right here not to get on a thing there okay okay and then we're going to put in the vanilla uh-huh never going to put in a little bit salt okay so this is going to be our fillings I'm bi filling so be like I'm in there ready around mm-hm take the tension way okay [Applause] if I need to pulse it a little bit or okay anyone just go around inside of it and get this all nice and creamy nice and creamy okay spin again [Applause] now but this curse you really got to take this tofu and you got to smooth it out so that has a really nice really creamy yeah it had the texture of an actual cheesecake or some type of a pudding okay texture but now you notice already if you look at it you'll notice that it's also kind of it's not thick see that I'm right so kind of funny all right so this is where we now are going to add something that they may or may not have heard of and that is we're going to be adding instant clear okay nice talk about a gel and believe it or not I don't know you know you are doing you know desserts and stuff and you're trying to get something to coagulate or get thicker then you need something to put in it we're not going to put cornstarch in it so we're going to use instant instant clear gel and it actually something that can be used in coal items or hot items and you it does not it liquefies and thickens up the actual products for coal horses oh oh yes I love it I love horror stars you have to use what you have to want a corn but you want the Cold War and that you have to put it on stove right but instant clear you add to whatever your ingredients they'll collide I'm gonna go in there because I want to make sure that it doesn't fluff up and this will thicken it up when i thicken up the actual product itself all right and sometimes I'm doing it people will say to me you know I tried to use it and I noticed that you know it wasn't thick enough and it depends on what's going on so you know I say between one and two tablespoons of instant clear gel that you would put in there to get the thickness that you actually want and then remember now when it goes in refrigerator it's going to thicken up as well all right Kurt okay so I'm just going to I'd like to do this look I don't like to have that flour in a powder go around them so right now what we're doing now you're all I'm doing is just kind of mixing the gel I'm mixing to jail in between yeah turned on otherwise we need to process that stuff this are usually anywhere okay I just don't like that I'm going to use this one to get all the goodies down in there oh so I could and then you're going to turn it on and you're going to see the difference in the texture of this item now this is a cheese cake this is going to be like oh well it's actually what looking to soak in pie sokka we're giving emulation of a cheesecake because it we have mini cheesecake yes in your book like that yeah yeah so this is nice looking hot so kanpai and as this recipe believe it or not is no I use to make my carrot pie that's right carrot pie out of it and then also I use it to make my cheesecakes that's right and cheesecakes go into the styrofoam pan with the zip didn't locks and everything for you so you can do a lot is very very versatile and we're trying to simulate once again that which people are used to eating but in a different format okay alright while since you've made a cheesecake for me it's been a while because I'm doing more other things right now so anyway you'll get a chance to sample this here so we're going to put the top of one okay okay so you trying to push it kudos in about you take a car the textures a little bit different yes you can see the thickening up thickening up yeah pick it up and once again once it comes once you actually put in refrigerator it'll take it up even more so I'm you can see that it's thickened up already haven't even mmm really put it in here yet okay so if I don't know you're a slave to instant clear you can okay no I thought for a moment because this may be new to a lot of people it seemed clear yeah and so where can I get this usually at the health food stores um but I've been seeing some of these kind of things show up sometime at some of your other stores some your other supermarkets I have a natural food section oh okay so you know it might be a major grocery store that has a natural food section and remember now I tell my audiences all the time if you see something that it's not that we use on 3abn show you can always ask the manager of a store to get that in okay and you'd be surprised because they're trying to you know a lot of competition going on now a lot of grocery stores you'd be surprised at how they will try to get in something because the fact that you are a person that are shops there alright so now what you're doing you're just kind of arms on right in and out I'm going spreading it out now mm-hmm okay okay this has a very nice flavor now let's talk about some other flavors you can use as opposed to there's not any of the ingredients I'm going inside I mean can you change up something the greetings make a different type of a tofu pad yeah yeah like I said I can do a care of pie I mean even the cost would be the same of course would be the same because never a no-bake right no bake all right and the tofu is set up so you don't have to actually cook the tofu either right for this particular one it's not just when you don't use it okay so you can see that we've already got it on here so this is no bake it does not go in the oven has not go in you don't turn on your oven so they don't raise your utility bill yep and it's still controlling so you don't raise your cholesterol it don't raise a whole lot of things yeah documenter now this is ready to go and now we're going to see the end of the program also because when we get done with that one we're going to actually put a blueberry topping on top oh we're not - okay okay you're going to run out or yes it calls for one 16-ounce container of blueberries fresh one cup of orange juice and one tablespoon of cornstarch okay okay so you know we've got this assimilated similarily cheesecakes are soaking pie so another topping and so now we're going to a topping you know and I like to topping because you can do two things with it because don't either do a blueberry topping or berry topping a peach topping oh that's okay very versatile yeah but you know we've made those are the shake and a switch is a smoothie we've made the burgers mmm okay and we've made the fries it's not fried no and then we've made it stood the mock mock cheesecake all right and now we're doing a blueberry sauce to go on top on time okay and we got fresh blueberries so I'm going to turn my umm let's do this first let's go ahead and crush up just a little bit other blueberries and I'm holding this thinkers because I can see that you've been looking at them and that you would like to put one in your mouth no not really not only okay I think may true okay well maybe I'll put one in my mouth oh my goodness mmm mmm take it from me okay like a half of a half okay thank you I'm trying to put any on the table okay about it okay okay I'm gonna put inside okay I'm gonna turn my stove on no so I'm gonna blend this up honey uh-huh you're gonna blend it up all right just pulse it there's a pulse key on here your support okay okay abate this is past here is that once it kind of comes to a boil it will come in a hot second to a boil then we're going to now be adding cornstarch this time okay we're gonna do the cornstarch and we going to do orange juice because you want to kind of make it like a thickened topping so we don't want to run when we put it on top of the cheesecake and also I also like to serve it like I'll serve the slice of the actual silken pie and then I'll just drizzle across the top of it a little bit of the blueberry sauce this is going to be absolutely wonderful Hey so I'm happy to do it I want to have you can go and pour the cornstarch in there and that and then stir it up for me okay [Music] like I said before you can do strawberries blueberries raspberries whatever topping you actually want to do with that okay all right stir it up real good there and usually I'd like to get that a little bit warmer so that one stir it up and make sure you get a little coins and stuff out of there as well okie-dokie oh and this is already come to a boy is coming to a boil now so now you're ready for me later that I'm going to move this down to lowly slowly stir it in here alright alrighty all the goodies in there there you go and this is one of them picking up on us okay so I turn it thick sometime when I'm making this up also Curtis I like to take strawberries and kiwi and you can do fresh strawberries and kiwi on top of it so now you're stirring this I'm sorry or you want the actual cornstarch to thicken this up and it was really a little turning in color it's going to get more of an opaque color so just white as you see right here okay now a lot of times of people asking about my sauce and stuff you know we do pineapple sauces we take and put the pineapple in there as well you can do orange juice as a part of it as well in this sauce whatever whatever your preference is just go ahead on in try something different remember now okay but you know our whole show today was all about trying to feed the person
