hey everyone welcome to another 360 in 360 covering a certain technology 360 degrees in 360 seconds hopefully and the topic for this session is Windows virtual desktop and this is aimed to solve when I want to give a user a remote desktop or maybe remote access to certain applications and I want to be able to stand that up in Azure maybe I have an urgent need but it's just my direction I want to go I want to provide this promote experience for my users and adding Windows virtual desktop is that managed solution so for my 360 seconds let's get to it so if I think about a traditional remote desktop environment I would have the boxes I actually connect to so for example this could be any server OS Windows Server 2019 and I would divide that up into sessions and in each user would kind of use their own session or I could have a client operating system this could for example be Windows 7 or Windows 10 and here each user has their own OS instance that was traditionally kind of VDI there was part of a traditional Remote Desktop Services solution for this I would have a broker the broker is responsible for taking that incoming request and distributing those requests to hosters got sessions available that's got space or particular desktop that's not being used there's also stove licensing performance requirements and then what I normally have is I have a gateway the Gateway is responsible for taking those kind of RDP packets those 3389 packets and I'm gonna wrap that in HTTP so now that 3389 traffic and travel over the internet for any firewalls in 443 i'm i also have kind of a web where users can go to to initially pick a session to connect to maybe subscribe to a feed of applications or desktop that's available to them and when absolutely my also doing something like one has ad at proxy or firewall in front of the Gateway in front of these things to control the access maybe do MFA whatever I need to do so I would have to set all of that up I could run all of that in Azure is today there's documents on how to do this and I'm managing all of these components that's what witness virtual desktop does is all of this stuff that is now Windows desktop I don't see that I deploy Windows virtual desktop tenant it provisions all of that stuff additionally I specify kind of the images I want to use this could be one from the gallery that's provided for me I could upload my own custom managed or unmanaged image with the applications configuration I want it will then use that image to go into ploy these out I don't create these it will go and deploy these things for me at a server West for sessions Windows 10 I can do pulled so I just had this capacity available when a user requests it will point them to wherever there is capacity there I could do personal hey I always go to this particular one now it is going to hook into Active Directory so we need a be available and context who is going to join these two Active Directory so I have this tenant and I create post pools host pools consists of these deployments and what it's going to offer is the ability to say hey I can offer from you of these things I'd not have desktops so I give them a complete desktop environment I can also offer remote apps so just say the application window to the client and for the clients over here well they could be running Windows they could be iOS and Mac OS even wet so one of those things are going to be supported to connect into this solution and I can offer combinations of these so a certain user of course different host paws might have some desktops offer to them they might have some remote apps and packages remote apps based on Azure ad groups that I offer these actually - I can have Auto scale again what do you think about optimizing my cost there are outer automations and logic apps available to help me scale this based on a schedule based on a certain load so this is great when that's what your desktop provides all of this for me I run a couple of commands it's all documented it's going to stand up a tenon I then specify the image is credit host Paul's kind of users are ready to connect at that point if I think about the operating system there's more than just the OS users have personality some dome we must have a personality I have my profile I have my data and support Windows virtual desktop is absolutely it's gonna give me that operating system but then it's going to plug in the users personality now traditionally with Remote Desktop Services this was the user profile disk but in after they acquired FS logics now if it's logic they have a much better process that takes the pro from the day - in a VHD and attaches it it's much more performant and I don't have to have like a big complex - which places direct I can just use as your files or actually NetApp files to store those things it support some things like onedrive for business so now I have my personality plugged in when I connect to one of these things and for the applications this thing called MS or ax attack and what this does is I take the MFA X file and I run an expansion and it crazies VHD fault and once again based on what's published to me it's gonna attach in all these different VHD files to my particular session based available to me similar applications just appear I'm not streaming them down like I would without thee and that makes my image fat by installing them in there not even lots of different images it's gonna attach that in as part of it so this is another part of Windows virtual desktop users Proform users data using that FS logics technology and my applications using this MSI X at a CH additionally when I think about that operating system server sessions lots of people connecting to the same OS Windows 10 one user one Windows 10 not in Windows virtual desktop in Windows virtual desktop it's actually a multi session Windows 10 image so now it can even divide my Windows 10 with different sessions and have different people connecting to a single Windows 10 OS instance it's only available in Azure only on Windows virtual desktop but now I can really maximize my resources I have a whole Windows 10 VM and it's got eight gigs of memory and multiple processors and I've got one user running word still be able waste now I heard multiple users connecting with that multi-session technology if I expand that user experience I think of all these clients connecting teams is something many people leveraging today I have this remote audio remote video experience if you think about here's my user on their client they're talking to another user over here we also be on a remote session ordinarily that audio and video has to bounce across this go to this session then come back over the internet out to the other user so audio video tend not to be that great so teams is now had this redirect capability using WebRTC so now my audio and video is redirected so if I'm running teams in one of these remote sessions the audio of video won't actually balancer via here you already have a video we just basically go direct to the other person it's not bouncing via that infrastructure so get a super smooth audio smooth super smooth video capability and as a team's client feature that's been added so in a nutshell fairly close to my six minutes this time that's Windows virtual desktop the idea of this managed offering button just go and stand up in Asia and super quickly give my users access to either desktops and all of our apps and all these different types of clients and again I can set this up super super quickly I hope that was useful please give this video a like please subscribe to the channel please comment and please share and until next time if I'm take care
