303 British - I bought one - First Shots

[Music] hey everybody how you doing this is about to be a really fun video those motorcycles are always messing up the audio hey everybody how you doing this is about to be a really fun video i got a new bang bang as you can see right here but i got to thinking you know what the problem is with having a friend that owns a gun store he's always letting you know when the cool stuff comes in the door so i just bought this and i have never shot one before some of y'all might know exactly what it is i'm going to give you a a little up close look see we better get the whole front side in there and maybe some of y'all will know what this is most of you will know what it is by the action there you suckers cocked right there ready to go but anyways if you haven't figured it out already this is a 303 british paul at heavy metal said man you don't have any of these on your channel you need to come get this so yeah i come and got this but it's pretty old like most of everything i don't know much about it uh it has stamped on it here uh m number one mk3 so like i said i know nothing about it but it's a model mk3 i don't know if you say that mark 3 or mk3 or what but the 303 british and he also had 20 bullets with it so believe it or not uh remington core locked so i'll give you a quick look at those and then we're gonna start flinging some bullets with my new gun but check that out it's pretty silly looking uh i say silly if you're used to you know 308 396 270. it's kind of goofy big old long bullet up there and how heavy are these i didn't even look 180 grain 108 grain saw points wouldn't that be a trip if we took a deer with that baby maybe we will but hey let's load this thing up playing some bullets and see what we think about this old 303 british mk3 hey slings bullets i love it check it out all right and like i said i am definitely not an expert on this but it's a top loader i don't think this mag comes out i mean i suppose you can take it out but regular use i don't think it's like a box mag so i'm going to take some of these loads pretty easy there that's pretty cool i think how you really can identify these is the action so i'm definitely going to have to learn more about this thing and edge of my catchy guys on the next one uh but yeah like i said i really don't know much about these but i just bought a 303 british rifle everybody's got to have at least one of every caliber this has taken more rounds than i expected it to tell you the truth there's a six rounds my goodness i kind of was thinking five seven eight i know it doesn't hold 20. nine maybe it's a 10 rounder 10 and that feels like that's about it so 10 rounds so that's pretty cool i was thinking you know these are supposed to be like military battle rifles back in the day i think like i said i don't know anything about this really but i was thinking five rounds if i'm i'm in a battle man i would rather have more than five rounds but that holes 10 that's pretty cool let's uh let's see if we can hit some steel with this thing give you a look at the sights there so there's the rear sight and there's the front sight it's a little blade up there and somebody told me something about um like maybe you could put a grenade launcher on this thing but i really don't know maybe that was a different gun but either which way it's got that sight you know you can squeeze that and then uh for the longer range stuff right put that up now it's like that yeah wouldn't that be a trip if we shot this at a thousand yards that would be ridiculous if we could hit something with those iron sights on a thousand maybe that we ought to do that but we got ten rounds in here let's see if we can hit some steel up on the range up here with this thing all right so like i said i got 10 rounds in this baby give you guys another quick little up close look at this thing first up there we got a big yellow target at 40 yards uh with these lead nose hunting rounds i'm sure it'd be fine to shoot that let's see if how it loads well stop wanting to grab that first one maybe you shouldn't put uh 10 rounds all the way up in there come on baby you'll have to give it some help here hmm well hold on now i hope it doesn't go off here in my hands right here all right so we gave it a little bit of a help with the zombie knife let's see what happens with it 40 yards at that yellow target well i i got this sucker set for 1200 yards i should not done that huh damn damn it all right back down to something reasonable see if we can hit that 40 yards target the big yellow one [Applause] oh yeah all the birds just flew out from everywhere it must have been loud yes not wanting to feed that one real easy either maybe when you got that whole mag bind it up they don't like to feed them real good plus this thing might not have been old in like 50 years let's see if we can hit that yellow one again oh yeah is definitely waking up the the uh neighborhood well this one's not wanting to feed either it's like the rear end of it's not bouncing up high enough out of the mag oh no it's the the shell beneath it uh the rim was holding it back so apparently i didn't load the mag right but uh let's see if we can hit that left silhouette up at the green one that's 55 yards yeah sights uh seem to be on guys hmm this sucker's not wanting to feed just about all of them huh isn't it i'm gonna have to call heavy metal i need a refund on this 100 year old gun no i'm just kidding there we go let's hit that same one again up there 55 yards got a pretty good trigger on it guys it's got a pretty good trigger on it well i'm trying to load two at the same time again got to figure out what i'm doing here let's go for that small round one up there 55 yards to primo targets him hey uh all jokes aside we might have to try to take a deer with this man it's accurate enough i i'd feel confident at least 100 yards with these iron sights if i get this beating uh right how you're supposed to be feeding it let's shoot the rest of them here man see it fed that one from the mag and that one hit that uh 40 yarder again fed that one it's just like it's they're hanging up at the end of the mag feed there hit this one hey that's a whole lot of fun pretty pretty cool but hey my first shots of my brand new not brand new british 303 i'll let that down i dig it i don't think i missed a shot with it surprisingly surprisingly good trigger on it check out the trigger it has like some grooves in it i think y'all can see that but yeah sights are on i'm normally not the greatest with those sights but we didn't at least miss those targets up here today trigger's good now the trick is going to be can i find some ammo for it you guys know the ammo is all hiding right now and if you find it it's crazy high but we're definitely gonna do a whole bunch more videos on this thing big thanks to heavy metal for letting me know about this and letting me get it from them this one uh definitely definitely cool you never know what these old guns have been through you know what there's no telling all the all the scratches and the dings probably have a story to them but hey just wanted to bring this out
