[No Star Talent was hired for the production of this video] [CHANCHANCHANCHAN ] [JWULEN SEAL OF APPROVAL] Let's do things... different again... My name is JWulen. A radioactive volume of Berserk bit me [JWulen Screams] and for a year, I've been the only JWulen in this universe. Or so... I thought.
Turns out, there are many more, and my computer crashing was a canonical event every Russian must go through. There's an entire "JWulenverse" and I've messed with the Canon by putting too many explosions in my videos. And now that I've hit a million subs, all my subs are chasing me to upload a new video. So SMASH THAT LIKE button to draw
a delicious Gwen and SUBSCRIBE because subscribing to this channel will be your biggest canonical event. You can also join the JWulen society, For with great power comes a great video of... 30 INSANE DETAILS in Across The Spider-Verse. At the beginning, in one corner,
we see a small cough shaped as an onomatopoeia a recurring easter egg in The Miller's movies Specifically, it's the voice of Chris Miller,
one of the movie's producers whose voice is mixed with the sound track and can be heard on the right speaker. [Cough, cough] They started doing this in 22 Jump Street, but the studio dropped it because they thought if they included this in the Blu-Ray, people at home watching the movie would think there was an intruder. Both producers found this so absurd that they decided to include this joke in every movie they made. The camera plunges us into the SONY logo in a style very similar to The Matrix. All the logos glitch, and we start to see the small dots from the comic book vignettes present in Miles's universe. The Sony logo, for half a second, uses the font from Miles Morales' comic and in another fragment pays homage to the font from Julia Carpenter's Spider-Woman comics. In the Sony pictures logo, many "300s" appear in the background, referencing the 300th comic cover of "The Amazing Spider-Man" where Venom first appeared. We... are JWulen! There's even a nod to the font from the Spider-Ham or Peter Porker comics. The font from the cover of Secret Wars number 8 also appears The name MARVEL appears in marker, just like the one stamped on Miles's notebook or the one we saw stuck on signs in Into the Spider-Verse Hold on! I just realized it says “ATM” here, pointing in the direction of the store where there's an ATM, which is where the Spot commits his first robbery!! Miles’ artistic signature appears in these frames, as if it were his sketchbook. On the Lord Miller logo, there are photos of the movie producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller with mustaches, and we hear a dolphin in the background, as both are elements of this emblem. In Into the Spider-Verse, a dolphin also appeared in the collider on several occasions, an easter egg and inside joke between both producers since they made the Clone High series This seal is the one that 50s comics included on their covers as a warning that they didn't contain war propaganda or explicit violence or gore, so parents wouldn't be scandalized The movie hasn't even started, and I've already found 15, 15 easter eggs!!! Let's do things differently... The story's been told in 3rd person instead of 1st person like Miles did in the previous movie... Doing things differently from Canon is what Miles will do in this movie Each drum beat and note is accompanied by small geometric shapes colors... This is an example of synesthesia like in this Ratatouille scene Synesthesia is a perception alteration some people have, for instance, people who see a color when they hear a note, like Gwen in this case... when the string comes in, we see vibrating strings Here Gwen is playing a drum solo, but at the end of the movie we hear the song “Start a Band”, which is what he ends up doing, but I'll explain this more in detail later. Seeing scenes that haven't yet taken place in the movie is another hint that this THIS is the monologue that Gwen uses as speech for the other Spider-Men from different universes to persuade them to join her cause and rescue Miles at the end of the movie These tweezers picking up the spider that bit Miles are used by Jonathan “The Spot” Later on, in his apartment, we see how he keeps the spider that bit Miles in a display with a sad face since he feels sorry it died as it was the first successful experiment with the collider Now that I look at it, its head is green and purple, and its legs are red and blue perhaps because it's the first spider whose bite created both Spider-Man and the Prowler Gwen still keeps the selfie she and Miles took on the bus in the first movie, with Peter's legs in the background On the outside, it says “The Mary Janes”, the band Gwen is part of in her comics, and her shirt says “Smashing Hearts, '89 tour” Gwen's universe is a giant watercolor of emotions Each Universe has a different artistic technique This is CINEMA The watercolor is also a nod to the first Spider Gwen comic in the style of Rodríguez and Renzi The colors we see are synchronized with Gwen's feelings at that moment or those of other characters like her father. This is a powerful and beautiful narrative element At the beginning, Gwen is represented with the blue color generally associated with sadness or depression When she enters her room, she is covered in shadows since on one hand, she must hide her Spider-Gwen identity from her father, and on the other, she bears the sadness of the loss and guilt of Peter's death, a death for which, by the way, her father blames her. And... we’re being told how she feels just with the color Gwen not only holds the drumsticks like a real drummer, but there are also several broken drumsticks beside her. She's very angry with herself [Drums] And since she can't tell anyone, this is her only way to vent [I hit my feelings with sticks] "Def Leppard" is a legendary band, but she's really calling Gwen "deaf", Just like her bandmates tell her in Edge Spider-Verse 2, we see panels during Gwen's intro like when the spider bites her or when Peter turns into The Lizard Earth 65 is Gwen's universe because the number six represents the 'G' in Gwen and the 5 represents the 'S' in Stacy as it is the year Spider-Man's issue was published where Gwen Stacy appeared The Band members are MJ, Watson Earth 65's Mary Jane, singer Betty Brant on bass another of Peter's love interests in the comics and movies movies, and Glory Grant on keys, who in this universe ends up falling in love with Mary Jane We see Gwen walking among people for half a second as Spider-Gwen This Fiiiiiilm... And just in the window Miles's reflection appears because she can't stop thinking about him In Gwen's flashback, she has long hair because this is before she meets Miles and he gives her the haircut with his hand When Gwen looks at Peter's phone, we see that he has photos of her, He photographs her because he likes Gwen, just like Peter Parker did with Mary Jane in the first Spider-Man And by how Gwen gets ready for the dance, it seems that interest was mutual Here we can even see the reflection of Gwen's eyes in her phone "Seems like a good guy... Why wear a mask if you got nothing to hide?." Captain Stacy and Peter slightly argue, just as Andrew Garfield's Peter and Captain Stacy did during a dinner in The Amazing Spider-Man Every single frame of this movie is pure art Peter wears the same polo shirt as Peter Parker from the 90s animated series Peter dressed as The Lizard hints at THIS being the villain Gwen is dressed as a traffic cone and her father as a Sheriff, given he's a cop. And what are they eating? BAGELS just like the one Miles threw at the scientist who would become The Spot Gwen is dressed as a cone, not as a VLC cosplay, but because the movie hints at how Gwen sees herself: as a warning sign to others Traffic cones signal danger, and after accidentally causing the death of her best friend this is how Gwen behaves towards others. She pushes people away because she genuinely believes she poses a threat to those she loves A typical Spider-Man trait: pushing away the ones you love to keep them safe The character seated on the right is Uncle Ben, who is still alive in Gwen's universe Note the difference in color here compared to her home in the present These were happier times for her. The one bullying Peter is an alternate Ned Leeds, different from the one in No Way Home Gwen was the only one who stood up for Peter, the others ignore this bullying and don't intervene which makes Peter feel very isolated and leads him to become The Lizard One similar to the Australian Perentie Peter becomes The Lizard because he admires Spider-Gwen and her courage to face villains The courage he lacks to stand up to his bully That's why Gwen feels doubly guilty for his death We see the members of Gwen's band at the dance The Lizard goes after Ned, his bully. Now Gwen defends the bully and ends up accidentally killing the victim, Peter That's why, when she tries to unmask Gwen he already knows what's underneath, just like in the Spider-Man PlayStation game Aunt May tells Peter to remove his mask because she already knows who's beneath it [Wanted to be Special… Like you] But for Gwen, Peter was more special than anyone [Everything’s gonna be okay] And the voice of this Peter is provided by Jack Quaid, from "The Boys" The gym where the dance takes place is the same location where Gwen was rehearsing in the beginning Imagine having to see every day the place where you killed your best friend The way she's breathing... Gwen seems to be having a panic attack here Gwen, in her Spider-Gwen suit, and when the subway doors open, it's just Gwen Miles in the reflections, even as the shot changes, the colors fade and melt like in a watercolor And if we look up to the sky, the watercolor blurs Who's she?? We hear J. Jameson's voice, in fact, in this movie, we see him in various universes That reflection of Gwen as Spider-Gwen in the window and then at the end of the movie when she returns home, it REVERSES [AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH THIS IS PURE CINEMAAA] In the Stacy's house, there's a wedding photo of her father with Gwen's mother since he's a widower, wearing a "visions" sweatshirt. He went to the same Academy as her and seems to have some gymnastics knowledge... So, he might have encouraged Gwen to do gymnastics from a young age, which is why she does those acrobatics Awwww... That's what she needed The colors of both blend and merge because they are comforting each other Oh! and here it says "I need more Punk" A little hint of Spider Punk and his affinity with Gwen [Voice Effect] Gwen has a walkie-talkie which she probably took from her father There's a flag supporting Trans rights in Gwen's room and her father also wears it on his uniform jacket The museum Gwen goes to is in New York, the Guggenheim This person is Yuri Watanabe same one from the Spider-Man game who ends up becoming Wraith Gwen makes movements very similar to ballet because she points her foot This is the Vulture from Gwen's universe, that's why she says... [You’re not my vulture] Her Vulture is Adrian Toomes, and the first villain Spider-Gwen faces in her comics whom Gwen's father is hunting for the murder of at least an 87-year-old woman, according to the police report. The Italian Vulture is Adriano Tumino [Voice] Gwen changes her voice tone just like Miles does with his father This Renaissance Vulture's suit is inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's inventions He uses crossbows, and Da Vinci invented rapid-fire crossbows His wings are identical to the ones the inventor developed... the pulleys... These remote-controlled mini-bombs have a helicopter screw on top another of Da Vinci's inventions Him taking an espresso emphasizes his Italian background, and he wears a Venetian mask like those from masquerades We see notes very similar to Leonardo's in his sketches Here, he's designing a bomb which he uses against Gwen's father All of Jeff Koons' exhibition exists in real life The author of this inflatable lobster, of this dog, and of this couple with puppies And we see his inflatable dolphin sculpture in a trash can In this movie, there's also another dolphin [You call this art???] The Vulture experiences a brutal cultural shock and considers modern art to be ridiculous This is Louis XIV, the Sun King of France The mask he uses when firing Greek fire resembles those used by doctors during the plague to attend patients [Voice effect - Ciao Ragazza] He says goodbye in Italian, and we see how his speech bubble is shaped like an ancient scroll Miguel O’Hara appears [Sound Effect] And his theme plays He wears a holographic cape that they use in the comics to glide faster through New York His entire suit is a hologram. This means that throughout the movie, Miguel is naked Now I understand his worried look here… Miles is going to undress me Even on his shoulders, he has sketch lines, like those artists use when making drafts His web is laser and smart He can direct it at any target he wants [¡Qué Maravilla!] Like he does here with the grenades He's also the only Spider-Man, along with McWire's, who has organic webs They come out of his wrist [¡Qué Maravilla!] [You’re the Blue Panther?] Because of his claws, like Black Panther's... [caped blue] Referencing Batman... [Dark Garfield?] Yes. The animated cat, but also a nod to Garfield's Spider-Man and his darker era
[I stopped... I got rageful]
[Voice Effect - Macho Libre] And a reference to Nacho Libre [Voice Effect - Macho Libre] There's a panel of Miguel facing off against the Venom of his universe And the comic is stacked right on top of the ones that were already there since the end of Into the Spider-Verse The cover is from the first Spider-Man 2099 comic Scarlet Spider appears Spider Woman... Margo Kess... Spectacular Spider-Man [Spectacular Spider-Man Song] Miguel doesn't see this punch coming... Because he doesn't have spider-sense like the rest of the Spider-Mans [Sound Effect] Nor he can't climb-up walls... He uses his claws and heels to dig into them, but doesn't stick The Vulture uses a medieval helmet in his suit to protect himself from the debris he crashes into, making Gwen and Miguel let go Miguel is a more muscular Spider-Man than average, since he knows he has to exert more strength to climb buildings by pulling himself up He's super strong but also has anger management issues... [GROWLS] [Dr. Strange and that nerd from Earth 1999...] He's referring to the mess Peter and Dr. Strange make in No Way Home... The Vulture rebuilds his wing thanks to this infinite inventory that Animated Universe characters have, like Peter Porker with his hammer [Layla!!] Miguel calls out to Lyla, his personal assistant from the comics, and she takes a selfie with him Spider Woman appears with an outfit and glasses that match the colors of her suit She's pregnant as in her comic, although the afro hair is taken from the first Spider-Woman Valery, the librarian Greek fire was a weapon used by the Byzantine Empire to burn enemy ships at sea When Vulture goes outside, the entire museum glitches [WHAT A BEAUTY] The Vulture is fascinated by the beauty of the future world. Miguel doesn't want to kill the vulture by biting him like a vampire That's because Spider-Man 2099's bite can paralyze his victims Like the venom of a spider when it immobilizes an insect, that's why he tries to bite him to neutralize him That's why when Miles escapes, we see Miguel with his fangs again because he's willing to bite Miles to paralyze him When the helicopter interrupts them, it recalls the last panel from the first Spider-Man 2099 comic When he puts the mask back on, we see the spider web of the Spider-Man mask cover his face The vulture hits his head and says "Notte Notte," which means "Goodnight" in Italian as he falls unconscious The helicopter's blades mimic Gwen's drumsticks in his mind and he interprets this as another drum solo he needs to play with his body [Voice effect - Yeah, I Think It’s a Bansky] A callback to Post Malone's cameo in Into the Spider-Verse Gwen is exhausted from the effort and runs out of web shooters because she uses them all to prevent the helicopter from crashing She reveals her identity to her father, and the watercolor begins to fade Her whole world is falling apart We see Spider Gwen's eyes behind her Her father is torn between siding with his daughter, red like Gwen's, or blue, his police duty That's why he has two colors: the colors of Spider-Man and those of a police siren, and in the end, duty wins On Miguel's watch, we see Gwen's Earth 65, the 1610 which is Miles's earth, and the universe 138, which is Spider Punk's universe Gwen left a band at the beginning and rejoins another one she'll eventually leave The only band she can belong to is one she forms herself In the holographic cage, we see Japanese characters... Did Penny have something to do with this? On Gwen's bracelet, we see the universe 1010 of the x-men's Project Brain-x and 928 which is Miguel O'Hara's universe On a wall, it says Black Lives Matter, and there's a RedEx van instead of FedEx. "Masjid" means "mosque" in English. Right next to it, we find Aaron Baker from the back, one of the animators of the movie On the security camera, we see the exact date: July 11, 2023 the store's cash register reads "Game Over" The $100 bill has Alan Hawkins' face on it, the chief animation supervisor for SONY As The Spot approaches, the stains on his leg stick to the cash register, causing it to sink He lines up the canned goods on the floor to knock the cash register onto them avoiding having to carry it [IQ 9000] Oh! And more bagels over here. There are Spider-Man magazines, and for The Spot, it mustn't be pleasant to see the one who ruined your life succeed all year while everyone laughs at you Miles laughs at him [Laughter] The same reaction Spider-Man has in the comics when he sees The Spot for the first time [Laughter] This is Miles' biggest mistake,
underestimating The Spot's power Miles fights against villains like Hammerhead... Leap Frog... The Beetle... I think this one is The Slyde...
and Grizzly! We can see the line tracing of The Spot's character something that is often done when drawing comics.
It indicates that he's a character still in development,
only to later see him achieve his final form On this real estate sign, we see Madeline Watson,
Mary Jane's mother in the comics "Jeopardy" is an American TV quiz show,
and that day's theme had to do with Spider-related topics Miles advertising baby powder is a nod to... [Baby Powder in his suit] And the slogan,
"With great Powder comes great responsibility" [Uncle Ben:
With great power comes great responsibility] "But the brand is called “Charm and Scammer”
which can be translated as 'friendly scammer' That's why he apologizes, because the baby powder was defective The old Spider-Man didn't need baby powder, referring to the one who died in the first movie...
and it's impossible for it to have 69 million dislikes with only 11 million views. He fights against a robot that could be Spider Slayer 5 from the comics Piloted by Jameson Here there are some photos from his parents' wedding... they throw the sofa and it never comes down
because it's a fantasy of Miles Miles' classic suit from his comics appears
in the graffiti that Miles drew with Aaron The shadow part of Miles closely
resembles The Spot's final form in this movie When Miles hits The Spot, he ends up hitting himself,
something directly taken from the comics Miles repeats this but now grabs The Spot from behind showing that he quickly learns from his enemies They fall into a cafe called “Foam Party”
the same one that Miles' father laughed about And another BAGEL!!!
Here says GOOD COW [Are you like a cow or dalmatian??] Miles stops right here to avoid the pigeons
since he has learned from his last experience There's a poster of the soccer player Son Heung Min a Tottenham player who is a fan of Tom Holland,
and who does celebrations that pay tribute to Spider-Man There's a newspaper clipping of Quake,
from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Kanky is playing the new Spider-Man 2
as we can see on the monitor Right behind him, there's a poster for the Overwatch League [Not your guy in the chair] Another reference to Ned's line: [I can be your guy in the chair] Miles wears a Black Lives Matter pin This figurine of the cat that topples
represents how it's challenging to maintain a balance between being Spider-Man,
having a healthy family life,
and a perfect school life On Miles' father's badge, it says “Morales”
instead of “Davis” as in the previous movie He adopted his wife's last name, because in the comics, he tells Miles that his
grandfather was not a good person That's why he decided to change his last name
although if Miles had his father's last name, it would be Miles Davis...
like the famous trumpet player [You can have your cake and eat it] [Unless you make two cakes] Because of this, Miles later buys two cakes, a subtle nod to how he will try to save both his father
and everyone else As always, he tries to change the story [Imma do my own thing] When his mother looks at him, Miles is relaxed but when he knows his father is watching...
he stands upright. The Puerto Rican flag appears in Rio's finger snap This is the same Study that The Spot was doing Miles wants to study physics
to travel to other dimensions and see his friends, but if we look at Miles' class notebook,
there are many more drawings than chemistry formulas Miles' passion is art; however, he's going to study physics He chooses to set aside what he loves
to study physics just for them We already saw that studying...
doesn't exactly excite him... So when he discovers that his friends avoided coming to see him,
his disappointment is more than understandable He breaks the Alchemax sign,
which is made of metal, and makes it disappear HAHAH Like how Miles' father chooses to take the stairs, just like his son did in the first movie when he wanted to jump The Spot accidentally throws these holes, realizes it, [Confusing, right?] And learns how to spell them! The way Miles dodges this,
it's the same movement that Raimi's Spider-Man used to dodge the Green Goblin's blades Miles's spider was meant to bite the Miles from universe 42, because his hair is the same as the prowling Ozuna Miles we meet at the end [Who are you? ... You can call me Ozuna] The angrier he gets, the more he unleashes his power which is why The Spot
kicks himself and the hole in his face shrinks. There's a USB drive floating here that might be from the first movie Oh! And there it says “FISK” as in Wilson Fisk… Kingpin In this 1940 comic universe,
this woman has spots like The Spot and in the Venom one, the same cashier from the movie appears The gum he grabs is branded “Venomint" [Power of the multiverse…] Who does this remind me of??? [POWER OF THE SUN IN THE PALM OF MY HAND] [PLEASE stop talking about your holes!!] [JWulen: HAHAHAHA HIS HOLES...] The LEGO world is universe 13122,
and the text indicating this is shaped like a LEGO brick [page 1 with a decent picture this time] What Jameson says is what he said in the first Spider-Man movie. [page 1 with a decent picture this time] The Dr. Octopus news pays tribute to the poster we saw in Spider-Man 2 There's also a LEGO Betty Brant, a Robbie sitting on the couch… And a Hoffman… [Dr. Octopus...] With a laptop with the LEGO logo This entire LEGO universe sequence was made by Preston Mutanga, a 14-year-old who made the Spider-Verse trailers with LEGOs at his house At the party, all the dishes are Puerto Rican: there's roast pork, mofongo... The kids are playing a parody of Pokémon cards Miles's web shooter goes off
because the box accidentally presses the trigger. He travels by train with the other citizens
just like Spider-Man used the elevator like the rest of the mortals… Here [.... and it's a bit tight around the ****] Miles defeats Armadillo, another villain from the comics This kid, who's scary when smiling,
appeared as a Visions student in the first movie [Screams] Miles jumps through the shirt, which again displays the number 42 This animation is miiiiind-blowing... [daaaaamn] The cakes read "I am not proud.”
The phrase "Rest in Power" instead of "Rest in Peace" is used to express that a person fought against oppression and therefore cannot rest in peace until society makes a relevant change His spider-sense detects his parents as a threat [Cool shirt!] Miles pushes her away because he's wearing the Spider-Man suit underneath [I never liked him, ‘calls me by my first name.] When Gwen calls them by their first name... [She called me Jeff...] They also don't like it Miles has boxing gloves on his door to remember the lessons from his uncle Aaron, who surely ends up training the Prowling Miles.... ... there's the logo for Michelle Obama's election campaign,
suggesting she was president in this universe In Miles' notebook, we see the bus ticket he traveled on with Gwen and Peter In James Baldwin's book on the bedside table, the author writes a letter to his 14-year-old nephew, just like Uncle Aaron gave his final words to Miles before dying We see the first Spider-Man comic,
the same one Miles was reading when he discovered his powers A poster of rapper ASAP Rocky,
on the wall, the PlayStation game "Top Skater" parodying Tony Hawk,
alongside a poster of boxer Muhammad Ali Miles' spider-sense doesn't activate because Gwen is his friend Miles has a photo of his father and Uncle Aaron, the same one his father had as a wallpaper in the first movie and Uncle Aaron had in his house A replica of the Spider-mobile that Peter had in Aunt May's basement
NOOO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING, GWEN, NOOO!! Miles has a wooden moose that references the Mitchells' movie Miles goes upside down like she's doing;
he is reflected in the truck's rearview mirrors ...that reminded me of... [AAAAAAA] Miles shoots the change at the hotdog vendor with his web,
and the word "Take" appears when he grabs it A reference to Blade, Marvel's best vampire... Or maybe a Morbius reference? [It’s Morbing Time!] Here, the sun casts a heart on Miles' back,
indicating his love for Gwen The thief they're chasing has the same color pattern as Sandman's original design Yes, there's a Shakespeare-inspired version of the Avengers The boy licking the glass,
almost the same way Miles pressed his face against Uncle Aaron's window
And he's licking right where Gwen was On the sign, another bagel accompanied by a sign that parodies "everything everywhere",
where the universe is also depicted as a bagel Below, 1917, the year Puerto Ricans were granted U.S. citizenship [Immigrant family… Part of america] Right below, the number of Miles' universe and the MCU's In the background, we see some nibbled buildings and skyscrapers What's shown on Gwen's watch is The Spot
in the apartment conducting his experiment As Gwen turns, we see how the sun gets covered and then reappears She has to use his web-shooters to stick to the ground due to gravity, even his eyebrows, cheeks
and forehead are slightly raised since they're upside down Miles's hand sticks to the suit because, remember that's what happens when he's nervous Everything his mother tells Miles is exactly what is going to happen When Miles turns invisible, his web also becomes invisible The signatures of Dr. Octavius and Kimpin also appears We see The Spot with Dr. Octopus,
and he used to be a high-ranking physicist at Alchemax The spider from 14512 is Penny Parker's The one from 333 is from an alternate Electro The spider from 305 is from the Heroes' universe The spider from Earth 206 is from the zombie universe Dalit is Hindi; the spider that bit Indian Spider-Man should be here He's the only Spider-Man who, when telling his story,
doesn't mention being bitten by a spider Because in the comics, he gets his powers from a Yogi 509 is the world of Tony Stark's grandson 3123 is the spider that bites Aunt May and turns her into Spider-Woman 90214 is from Spider-Man Noir [How's it going, mates?] 19925, a universe where the comics are written by a robot Here they say "shoot" because they can't say “S**T” it's a movie for all audiences,
and it's also a reference to a scene from The Wire;
they just say BEEEEP Right next to Miles, a BAGEL More CINEMA over here...
every shot is insane... Mumbattan from above, seems to be full of water,
but those are actually the lower layers of this megalopolis... from above
Mumbattan's shape is like Manhattan Island Its name is a combination of Mumbai, a city in India, and Manhattan There are comic onomatopoeias but in Hindi When sunlight hits the camera, we see a small circle made of elephants - a sacred animal in India Miles says this because he interrupts an Indian wedding The groom rides atop a mare,
a part of the ceremony called "Bharat" Miles ends up wrapped in a Dupatta,
a traditional Indian female garment We see a "Zomato" sign, something like the Indian Just Eat A cow, another sacred animal An auto rickshaw, a typical Indian taxi,
and another sign for "Chai" [Chai Tea?] we can see a candy bar sign "Hershis",
a parody of the American brand "Hershey's And right next to it, a sign that reads "Pani" from "pani puri" a very popular Indian street food There are also signs for Joe's Paratha, a parody of Joe's Pizza, the pizzeria from Toby Maguire's Spider-Man 2 The Spot has more spots on his body because he's more powerful He better controls his holes Four on a bike in India is the norm to avoid traffic jams Spot coughs, and the hole in his face gets smaller Ramcheron is the illustrator who made this cover Pavi wears "dhottis", typical Indian trousers, and uses a "damaru" one of Shiva's weapons, though he uses it like a yo-yo He's also an expert in Kalaripayattu, an Indian martial art On his forehead, we see a tika that represents enlightenment His mask mimics Hindi facial paintings during some festivals And on his shoulders, we see rangoli which represents light or goodness The mehndi on his hands are typical tattoos made on the hands in India In the school, there's a poster of Mahatma Gandhi [Pavitr Prabhakar] He's voiced by the Indian taxi driver from Deadpool He defeats the Indian Green Goblin. Distracted, Miles spills the tea and almost serves himself two cups of tea-tea [Chai means tea bro] Funny that Pavitr corrects him,
reminiscent of when Miles corrected The Spot [Why do people say ATM machine?] Gayatri is a Hindi prayer On his tie, we see the initials "MVA,"
which stands for Mumbathan Visions Academy He picks up a Badewala, a vegetarian fast food dish The "Sacred Wars" sign is a nod to "Secret Wars" On this cinema sign, they advertise the movie Citizen Kane [HAHAHA] On the ground, we see that the tiles form Spider-Man's face A reference to the movie Eat Pray Love
and the cliché that one must travel to India to find oneself And...
JESUS CHRIST appears The initials on the jacket stand for
"Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" His greeting with Pavitr is the same one
LeBron James and Dwayne Wade used in the NBA His guitar isn't plugged in, but it sounds due to his electric power Advice he later reminds Miles of to escape Hobi is the only Spider-Man wearing the dimensional watch on his right hand.. and not on the left like the rest of the Spider-Men.
He's contrarian even in that. His body is animated at one frame per second
his colors at two,
and the guitar at four [I don’t believe in consistency] - emphasizing that he takes his ideals to such an extreme
that even his animation isn't consistent Hobi turns on pink color when he speaks with his friends and with people who he really cares about The sky is the British flag We see Big Ben There are "obey" signs that Hobi changes with his music The collages are based on those by the artist Jamie Raid In this article, the name Plomps appears,
a cat belonging to one of the movie's animators, and PC Angel, a nod to the character from Hot Fuzz Hobi's shoelaces are blue.
In punk culture, the color of your boot laces indicates things about you.
Blue means you've killed a cop So, Hobi either killed one or feels guilty for the death of one [Hate the AM - Hate the PM]
It’s a pun with "Prime Minister" In this universe, it must have been Kingpin Police are represented as pigs He slams his guitar into the Walrus Villain and this might be the Puma in Hobi's universe [Hey Peter Pan] He calls Miles "Peter Pan" and Gwen "Gwendy" because he knows they like each other None of the Spider-Men dodge Spot's punches
because the blows come from another dimension, thus nullifying their spider-sense Spot is able to directly grab Miles and pull him through a portal Gwen is the first to recover from the fall quickly,
as she's the most agile Here it says "Boom" Miles and Spot appear united as the multiverse web unravels as Miguel will explain later on, implying that Miles and Spot will be the causes of this disaster Miles is surrounded by many copies of Spot,
meaning he can multiply In one frame, the Spider-Men from the Spider Society appear, defeated in the next movie... He absorbs everything around him
and spits it out through the holes When Spider Punk claps,
we see the onomatopoeia made with magazine clippings It means "Let's go" in Hindi On Gwen's watch, the letters ASM-90 appear,
referencing the comic in which Captain Stacy dies So, in this universe, it was Gayatri's father who was supposed to die Gwen has flashbacks of Vietnam here because
it's not the first time she's searched for a friend's body among the rubble She realizes Miles' potential He's the only Spider-Man that can bypass the Canon and write his own [AAAAAAAAAAAAAA] Only half the city died, yaaaaaaay! [Gwen: You're amazing] Gwen's also got feelings... [It’s a metaphor for capitalism] [JWulen: HAHA this guy is awesome] [Hobi: I was cool the whole time] An alternative version of Spider-Woman appears This one's in the MK-3 armor This one wears the Future Foundation uniform The Peter Parker from the Stands This Spider-Man with arms is Max Born from Earth-9500,
and this is Spider-Cide
a clone of Peter [Spidey: am I invited to the HQ?? WOOOAH!] The disappointment on Spider-Punk's face The elevator goes up in reverse since it's an elevator just for Spider-Man [WHAT A MARVEL] This is Spider-UK [Spider-UK: Anybody spots The Spot??] All the Spider-Men respond to the joke, including the Superior Spider-Man by Alex Ross Spider-Man Mark-2 armor Lady Spider from Earth-803 Spiner-edd, who is Mary Jane Watson's Spider-Woman along with her daughter, Spiderling a traffic cop Spider-Man the Peter with the bag on his head is Bombastic Bag-Man and Flash Thomson's Spider-Man Riding in the Peter car are Tarantula, Spider-Side from the Stands, and LEGO Spider-Man again Scarlet Spider from universe 94 is a clone [thinkin’ about my past] Being a clone, he remembers each past life and death His drawing is much more detailed than the other Spider-Men [My defined musculature] Web-Slinger and his horse, Widow and next to him, the Spider-Man of Bruce Banner In the cages, Grizzly appears,
the villain Boomerang is there a Doctor Octopus with eels? the moose Mysterio is from the Peter-Porker universe the Play's Spider-Man... the Green Goblin from the 82's Atari game And Video-Man from the 80s series also appears Type Face appears in the Comics [Type Face: "go to Hell-Vetica"] he swears in Helvetica, which is a font... [Type Face: "SPIDERMAAN"] and says Spider-Man with the iconic movie font [Bold!] Daniel Glover is the Prowler, since he played Aaron Davis in Homecoming And in Marvel's 616 universe,
Hobi Brown is the Prowler Margo appears and Gwen gets jealous?? [Gwen: Just keep moving?] Look how she pulls Miles when he says goodbye to Spider-Bite HAHAHA In Spider-Bite's room, we see the "we are incognito" poster - a parody of Anonymous. The wheel we see in this cage is Big Wheel
one of Spider-Man's silliest villains [No big wheel? Gotta give it a Zero!!!! ] What Miguel O'Hara injects himself with is Rapture,
the drug created by Alchemax which leads him to restructure
his DNA with that of other animals, like spiders The parts Hobi picks up from Miguel's laboratory are the ones he will later use to create his own dimensional watch in the end this is a claw of the Prowler, the arms of some Doctor Octopus or robot, and these tentacles are from the Symbiote-2099 a Green Goblin glider [Hey, what's up, man? I'll make an empanada] No wonder they gave him a B in Spanish Lessons! HAHA Hobi steals the empanada In the background, we see Spider-Man 2099's white suit that Miguel is creating Peter's daughter wears a mini bracelet to spend the day with her father at work The bathrobe Peter wears is to prevent the straps from hurting his shoulders and back [Peter: Ow My Back! ] The girl's name is Mayday in honor of Aunt May, and in the comics, she's Spider-Girl Peter's sneakers say "cool dad" Hey! see how he tries to catch the girl... [She's an anarchist] The multiverse line is the same as the one we see at the end of Loki's first season... The spider that sends anomalies back
catches threads that seem to be part of the Spider-Verse This spider references the great weaver, a deity in Marvel's comics worshiped by the Spider Society, responsible for maintaining
and continuing to weave the threads of the Spider-Verse The bite of the first Spider-Man appears the iconic kiss with Mary Jane Eddie Brock's transformation into a Symbiote Venom and Peter in Spider-Man 3 getting rid of the symbiote we see Peter losing his Uncle Ben... the Spider-Man of the manga universe, Spider Knight... Spider-Man Canada, and also Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. Spider-Punk giving up being Spider-Man
in The Amazing Spider-Man 50, Jess Drew lifting debris like in comic 33, Spider-Man's comic book wedding, and this mud-covered Gwen is from Craven's Last Hunt... Peter helped Miguel try to save his universe alongside other Spider-Men. This is Uncle Ben's death from a scene in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" game. "Spectacular Spider-Man" again... Okay, okay, we get it... The original movies' Uncle Ben,
and the first Uncle Ben's comic book death... Spider-Woman from Julia Carpenter, Spidey Samurai… Penny Parker in Evangelion mode. In her "SPDR"... the armor she uses in the comics... She looks a bit "s"-faced... In her backstory, she's already lost Aunt May and her friend Addie Brock who are absorbed by Venom's armor [AAAAAAAA] Cyborg Spider-Man... [ Hobbie you’re not helping… HAHAHA] He throws away his dimensional watch to prevent Miguel from tracking him... Is there a Spider-Man trying to drink
with a straw without taking off his mask??? This is Spider-Man Unlimited
from the 90s series alongside the Japanese Spider-Man And they all recreate the meme from the end of Into the Spider-Verse which originally came from the 60s series they recreated in No Way Home Miles hides and we can see his feet in the shadow cast on the floor This is "Araña", another armored Spider-Woman who has a carabiner here which some lesbians wear as an identifier Webman appears in Spidy Stories issue 25,
the bulletproof MK-1 armored Spider-Man Spider-Man in a suit... Baby Spider... Miles has time to stop the missile with his hand pointing in the other direction He is attacked by Spider-Cat who carries his dimensional watch on his tail [I feel vertigo in my tail…] A nod to... [Literally not get any weirder…]
[Spider Pork: it CAN get weirder]
Spider T-rex, whose webbing reads "T-WHIP" with a middle dash, Miles steps on a burger with Spider-Man 2099's face on it [WHAT A MARVEL] The same energy drink Miles drank at the beginning appears Spider-Monkey grabs the coffee and Miles throws it RIGHT in his face This one also shoots webs from his feet The Spider therapist has a Rorschach test
in the shape of a spider on his wall His diploma is from Ditko University, in honor of Steve Ditko
and his name is Ezekiel Sims the name of the elderly Spider-Man in the comics Miles throws the monkey at another Spider-Man EHEHE We see a blade attacking Miles It's a shuriken thrown by Otaku Spider-Man Cowboy Spider shoots web bullets And during their Wild West duel,
the background transforms into a classic Western setting [It’s her first chase] It's Mayday who shoots and takes the photo In one of the cages, there's an enemy that is a clam And... yes, it's a comic book villain, Werewolf Spider-Man from Earth 7085 Spider-Sun, the Spidey in a wheelchair Hits him with her crutches 60s Spider-Man can't hit Miles because he's the only 2D Spider-Man
so he just flies by In the training room, we see Rhino, Raven,
Dr. Octopus, who says his "No Way Home" line [Hello Peter] Electro, the Green Goblin... This Spider-Man is doing a strength test like in Homecoming with the boat [There’s nowhere to run] This Spider-Man is the rapper Metro Boomin’,
responsible for many songs on the soundtrack [AAAAAAAA] There's a huge Hyundai ad... He grabs and squeezes Ben Riley's web-shooters,
which explode because this Spider-Man shoots his web at a higher pressure than usual And this Spider-Man hits the Cyborg Spider [You F0rgiv3 M3?] Miles latches onto a flying car that the brand designed for the movie and then lands on another Hyundai car There's even a bus from the brand Miles shouts "SNITCH" at this citizen Miguel rips the bracelet off Miles and he starts glitching When he tries to shoot upwards, gravity causes the web to fall downwards Miles' feet rip part of the train's roof just like in the first movie when the glass was broken in his Leap of Faith Because again, Miles is terrified Miles kicks Miguel, he catches his foot...
Boom! Without touching the ground, he delivers another one When he glitches, for a split second, we see Miles with his mask and Spider-Man suit from the first movie When the web breaks, we see a panel that looks like it's straight out of the storyboard Miles absorbs all the energy from Miguel's suit We see the electricity traveling from Miguel's suit to Miles' body Plus, Miles is using his stickiness to keep Miguel from getting away He panics because he's not in control, and it terrifies him, being a control freak Miles now uses all that energy to push him,
like he did with Kingpin in the first one [Screams] [Told him how to do that, so…] Referring to when Peter fell at the end of the first movie [Not bad, kid] He becomes invisible as he falls so they can't follow him Spider-Bite changes her avatar on an app called
"Inspobook" A mix of Instagram and Facebook.
The home sending machine reads Miles' DNA and displays Earth number 42,
as his DNA contains that of the spider that bit him from Earth 42 When Miles is invisible,
not a single Spider-Man can perceive him. Only Margo sees him and even though she has the opportunity to reboot the system and prevent Miles from leaving,
she doesn't [We are supposed to be the good guys] That line will resonate For later, Jess Drew lets Gwen go Many Spider-Men will likely turn against Miguel in the next movie Miguel's arrival in Miles' Universe
is identical to the intro of the game "Web Of Shadows" At Peter's house, Mary Jane uses a Spider-Man mug There are pictures from their wedding,
of Mayday, and one of Aunt May with a dog Miguel denies Gwen access to the data and the dimensional watch [DAAMN GIRL!!] She's kicked out of a band again… In Mayday's crib, there's a Green Goblin plushie and an octopus one Like Dr. Octopus She wears pajamas of Peter Porker,
and the sheets are Spider-Man themed When Gwen returns home, we find the scene reversed Now she sees her own reflection in the window, not Spider-Gwen's In the window's reflection, we see Captain Stacy holding what appears to be a gun, but it's just Gwen's penguin She's still scared of her dad pointing a gun at her, of course [Well, go easy on the penguin] This is a reference to the Gwen who's a penguin in the comics Her father is really saying, "don't be so hard on yourself" Captain Stacy has a several days' beard and sleeps in his uniform because he's been searching for his daughter these past months We see Gwen's mask sliding upside down on the table's glass, changing color The more Gwen is sincere with her father,
the clearer the colors and the background become Unlike the ones at the beginning They both synchronize... And Gwen realizes things can change On the shelf, we see the box Hobie left Gwen with the watch [The guy who left it was a real piece of work] Hobie was the hardest character to animate in the entire movie The note reads “in case it doesn’t work” because Hobie had a hunch about what was going to happen The watch reads “bootleg project”, meaning pirate or illegal The destination is Earth 1610, Miles' Universe When the portal opens, we see cutouts from Hobie's universe, not Miguel's orange hexagons [Glitching Sound] That sound heard when the portal opens is the same as the Tardis from the British series Doctor Who Upon landing, Miles breaks one of the lenses of his mask There's a poster of the Vulture A SCORPO poster, parody of OSCORP, and the Scorpion's ELECTRONICS, a casino named after Rhino, another named after Shocker. Sandman, the Sandman These trains fall off the tracks because they are cut off CHAOS reigns here [There’s no Spider-Man] An M&M poster with Ws,
and the colors of its mascots inverted The Coca-Cola is named Soda-Koca,
instead of Koca-Soda like in Miles' Earth [Perfect Pose] A typical pose Spider-Man would strike in the rain… And it's the rain that connects both Universes, making us believe that Miles, Miguel,
and everyone else are in the same Universe… BUUUT… nope!
This was done in Silence of the Lambs or in The Lord of the Rings when the Nazgûl try to kill the Hobbits
but they're in another house [What did you do to your hair?] Because this universe's Miles has braids Even Rio is different; the one from 1610 has brown eyes,
and these are somewhat greener If you notice, there aren't many pictures of Miles' father, only with his mother,
probably stored away since he died In Miles' room, there's a Speed Bag for training,
something Miles didn't have His room is much more childish,
and there's a schematic of a prowler claw The poster on his bed says “Oashimi" instead of “Sashimi” The coat he wears is purple and dark green, the colors of the prowler, while the colors of Miles' coat were red and blue, the colors of Spider-Man [Who’s Spider-Man?] He says this because he genuinely doesn't know
who Spider-Man is; there never was one here [For like a Comics-Con??] This universe's Rio knows what a Comic-Con is [Don’t Know what that is?] But on Miles' earth, there are no Comic-Cons,
since Miles didn't know what it was
when Peter mentioned it in the other movie [Same as a Comic-Con… What’s Comic-Con?] They both realize they're not in their universe As we hear the whistle from the first movie when they met [Whistle] In universe 42, it's no longer raining when Miles talks to his mom,
but in Gwen's, it keeps pouring Another clue is that Miles' bedroom window opens downwards, and Earth 42's opens upwards Even the speech bubbles differ from Miles' Universe… Everything has a much darker,
more pronounced shading, and then… Uncle Aaron appears For a moment, the prowler's symbol appears on his chest [You took your braids out?] - he also noticed his hair... [They gave me more hours at the hospital…] Rio is clear here that without her husband's job and income, they're struggling to make ends meet at home That's why this Miles steals with his uncle [Security switches out at 6] Not because he's a criminal, but to get by, and perhaps they rob the villains' businesses we see in the city There's a statuette, like a kickboxing or Muay Thai award, instead of the baseball one at Miles' house This Miles knows martial arts and can defend himself Our Miles glitches, and we see him holding the cake from his father's party Even his sneakers glitch, and his iconic Jordans appear because it's the same staircase he went up The graffiti that Miles made for his uncle now features his father alongside the names of the creators of Miles Morales' character Sara Pichelli and Michael Bendis Here Aaron receives a message from the other Miles,
confirming that this Miles is an impostor His look says it all... Miles' spider-sense doesn't work here because he's getting hit by another version of himself from another universe. he's getting hit by another version of himself from another universe Or it could be another clue that this Miles is good because he doesn't detect him as a threat [You just gotta let him spread his wings man...] The same thing his own son told him [You gotta let him spread his wings man...] Hobi's portal sometimes turns the back cabin into a London booth When Miles arrives in this universe without Spider-Man they tie him to a punching bag and interrogate him
just like when Peter B Parker came to Miles' world There wasn't a Spider-Man there either because he had died Only Miles was there, who knocked out Peter just as the prowler does now with him
and they also tie him to a punching bag They put rubber gloves on Miles
to prevent him from transmitting electricity That's why Miles breaks the glove and can touch the chain later So Miles will free himself and say...
"You should've looked at my hand, not my mouth, dummy" [Don't watch the mouth, watch the hands!!] Uncle Aaron's floor is a training room for the 'Miles Ozuna' The record spinning,
the bag spinning from below... [JWulen: CINEMA *explosion*] The song we hear is by Bobby Blue Bland It talks about how crime and poverty have taken over a city, highlighting that Earth 42 is full of crime,
and Miles and Aaron are just trying to survive God, I thought he totaled him!! The other Miles wears Jordans,
also black and modified for better jumps But they are an unofficial Nike test model Are they the ones they gave to Rubius?? [ElRubiusOMG: They're amazing, dude...] Even though Miles is hanging from the punching bag,
Ozuna's eyes are at the same height The one from Earth 42 is slightly taller... On TV, Jameson talks about the Sinister 6 controlling this New York City... This universe's Jameson must be a poor man who could never get pictures of Spider-Man [Jameson: I need photos... Photos of Spider-Man!!...
It's a poetry magazine] He has painted the Prowler logo on his chest,
so he has also made his own suit [Still alive?] If he had been Spider-Man, his father might still be alive,
and he could have saved him Because this Miles has no powers [I’m Miles Morales] His Puerto Rican accent is much stronger because since his father death,
he has had to spend more time with his mother [Calm down, Mami] This prowler's design looks a lot like the toy in the box Gwen opens in Miles' room The Spot arrives in Miles' Universe right where it all began: at Kimpin's collider He started as a joke villain...
and has become a multiversal threat The music at the end is a mix of the Prowler's theme from the first movie and Miles' hero theme [Music: Theme] Peter falls asleep reading a book on fatherhood On the wall, there's a drawing of Mayday [JWulen: Awwww] Miles' face is covered in red and blue, Spider-Man's colors And what color do we get when we mix red and blue??? The Prowler's purple [Gwen: You want in?] SHE BREAKS THE 4TH WALL!! asking us, the viewers, if we also join his band,
connecting with the beginning Everything Gwen said... [Now he’s on his own...] ...was the speech she gave to all the members to join, and when Gwen opens the portal,
we hear Spider-Punk's guitar
[GUITAR SOUNDS] Gwen has set up her own band Everyone look back,
making us feel part of this band The entire movie is a work of art!!! No matter which damn frame you pause on, you're always going to get a picture worthy of display in a museum If 'Into The Spider-Verse' told us that we all could wear the mask,
that everything was a leap of faith, 'Across the Spider-Verse' tells us that only we can decide how to wear that mask Only we can write our own story The first movie shows all the good things about being Spider-Man The second, the consequences of being him But the key piece of this whole movie is Gwen Her intro is the best part of the whole movie because it visually shows us how she feels every moment The dark colors and the blue that flood Gwen are telling us how big her sadness is But we don't see her sad, instead, we see her angry... [Drum beat] ... or distant That's why the use of color here is so wonderful because Gwen acts like most people do, hiding what they feel A person with depression isn't someone
who shows they're sad or depressed 24/7 It's a sadness so deep and rooted within us that the person suffering just wants to bury it as deep as the ocean they're sinking in Not being able to reveal her identity to her father,
telling him she didn't kill her best friend seeing her best friend die in her arms that everything was an accident The pressure of being Spider Gwen is drowning
her in that color because she can't tell anyone anything Now she knows that her father
will die someday because we will all live through terrible... and incredible canonical events But we can't refuse to live them
because of the possibility of something going wrong... [Gwen: Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man and it doesn’t end well!] Because it can also [Music] turn out well... [There’s a first time for everything, right?] We can't prevent canonical events from happening... Your parents will die one day, Your grandparents... Your loved ones...
eventually, we will always lose someone And if I or anyone had the powers of Spider-Man, I'd do the impossible, like Miles, to prevent it You want to care for and protect everything
so that it's always alright Even if you're not okay, you're surrounded by those who love you And what overwhelms Gwen the most is that even with all that power, she can't protect those she loves the most [Gwen - I can do all these things but I can't hold the people I love the most] Wanting to control everything,
constantly thinking that everything will go wrong, and getting overwhelmed by something that might not even happen I regret to tell you that it's not called having a spider-sense, but... anxiety And Gwen is drowning in it, just like many of us drown in ourselves in all that constant worryness And what makes Gwen get out of this whirlwind of herself??? [Piano slow music] Speak. Pouring out everything that eats at her, which is why here she explodes,
she tells her father everything... all those dark colors gradually fade to give way to the purity of white to illustrate how everything she kept inside flutters around her and her father Gwen no longer has a specific color Here she has her original color palette because she has emotionally emptied herself completely with her father Then Captain Stacy says
the best thing a father could say to his daughter...
[You're the best thing I've ever done] [Sad music] DEDICATED TO MY PARENTS...
FOR LISTENING TO ME WHEN I THOUGHT THEY DIDN'T ... AND FOR UNDERSTANDING ME
WHEN I THOUGHT THEY WOULD NEVER UNDERSTAND ME SPEAK THINGS SPEAK THINGS
DON'T HOLD THINGS FOR YOURSELVES Like this canonical event
