across the globe hundreds of people go missing every day summer found safe and unharmed whilst for others tragedy befalls them and some just disappear gone into thin air just like that in a world where we are connected by social media and surveyed on camera almost 24/7 it's scary to think that you or your loved one could simply vanish in the blink of an eye with no explanation whatsoever in some cases all that we are left with is a snapshot in time or a slice of grainy footage here in this video we'll be discussing such cases where the final moments of some are captured on camera [Music] Rebeca corium born in Chester England Rebecca Corian was a 24 year old with a bright future ahead of her after completing a Sports Science degree and a further course in youth studies Rebecca applied for a Disney cruise ship position in 2010 where she and hundreds of other competitors hope to get the job after her training in the Disney theme parks of Florida Rebecca spent four months on cruises to the Bahamas and then spent two further two months at home in the UK with friends and family before returning to work shortly after going back to her job her grandfather died causing her to fly home again for two weeks this was the last time that Rebecca's family saw her in person by March the 21st 2011 Rebecca had been back at work for around six weeks the cruise ship on which she was employed the Wonder sailed out of LA to embark on its usual route Rebecca had been on this route before and sent her parents a message via Facebook to tell them she'd call the next day this was her final message to anyone whilst Rebecca's mother did reply back she became concerned when her daughter didn't respond for 12 hours at 9 a.m. the Wonder was off the coast of Mexico and Rebecca had missed the beginning of her shift as a youth worker crewmate searched for her noticing she wasn't in her room and couldn't be located anywhere else aboard the ship her belongings were still in a cabin including a pair of ripped shorts and her passport when the crew called for her over the tannoy system they were met with only silence CCTV footage found Rebecca talking on an internal phone in the crew area that's around 5:45 that morning she reportedly looked distraught and was wearing what appeared to be men's clothing whilst someone approached Rebecca to ask if she was okay she is seen clearly saying yeah fine she then hangs up the phone and is seen walking away pushing her hair back and putting her hands in her back pockets according to Rebecca's parents this is a common mannerism of their daughters as the Wonder is registered in the Bahamas a lone detective from the Royal Bahamas police force flew to the ship to conduct an investigation but no passengers were interviewed and only a handful of the crew was spoken to he spent only a day on the ship before flying back there are many theories surrounding the disappearance the captain of the Wonder told Rebecca's parents that he believed she'd been washed overboard by a wave whilst at the crew pool when a journalist went to investigate this claim at same year he found that many of the crew agreed this was the case although the journalist himself theorized that Rebecca had slipped from the jogging track on deck 4 as the railings were low however in both of these instances there is CCTV all across these areas which begs the question do Disney in the Bahaman authorities know more than they are letting on many of the crew believed this to be the case the only evidence ever found was a pair of flip-flops at the crew pool but they had someone else's name and cabin number on them it's also noted that the walls around the crew pool are extremely high making it seem unlikely that Rebecca could have just fallen or slipped over them eight years later Rebecca core eum's whereabouts remain unknown and her case remains open and unsolved claudia lawrence described by friends and family as a warm friendly girl and someone who liked to have fun 35 year old Claudia Lawrence had a busy active social life and a successful career as a chef at good Ric College at the University of York on March the 18th 2009 Claudia returned home from work and engaged in a text conversation with her mother over the phone between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. making plans for the upcoming Mother's Day Claudia's last text message was sent around 823 p.m. two days later Claudia's father Peter reported her missing when she didn't turn up for her shifts at work police searched her house in Melrose gate hue earth york but found nothing amiss her passport and bank cards were still at home and her bed was made with dirty dishes in the sink and her toothbrush left on the draining board the only things that couldn't be located with Claudia's mobile phone a Samsung D 900 and her gray and blue carry more backpack the one she took to work and which often contained her chef's whites one thing that jarred Claudia's initial investigation which swiftly became a suspected homicide after just six weeks was that Claudia had recently changed her hair color from blond to brown as police dispersed photos of the 35 year old that pictured her before this change many thought this soured the investigation from the start it's speculated that people may have seen her but due to the differing hair colors they didn't think anything further of it not only this but as authorities dealt further into Claudia's personal life they claimed that she lived a secret life and that she had a string of lovers with it being alleged that at least one of the men was married she was supposedly involved with the rogue gallery of men implying that some of them were shady and locally known criminals none of these men have been named in the revelation that Claudia had more than one lover made the case hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons she was painted as a wild and reckless seductress whilst several sightings of Claudia reported to the police the most compelling evidence comes from CCTV footage although Claudia is seen on camera leaving the college on the 18th of March the more interesting footage doesn't contain the 35 year old instead it features a man in dark clothing entering the alley behind Claudia's house at around 7:15 p.m. he disappears from view for a minute before returning with what could be a bag it's possible the bag was already in his possession and the shadows perhaps made it difficult to pick out the man repeats his actions at 5:00 a.m. and whilst it could be two separate parties they both have the same build and height five years after Claudia's disappearance new forensic techniques allowed experts to collect partial fingerprint from her home and a cigarette butt which contained DNA from her car the cigarette brand is embassy Regal and the butt is thought to have been from a left-handed smoker however both the DNA and the fingerprints remain unidentified so far in recent years several arrests have been made in Claudia's case all suspects were released without charge with the Crown Prosecution Service citing a lack of evidence there is an abundance of theories about the fate of Claudia all across the internet from people suspecting she was murdered by a married lover or his spouse to those who think she left of her own volition one theory without basis is that Claudia was involved with drugs whilst another popular theory is that convicted murderer Chris Halliwell is behind the disappearance of the chef 10 years on Claudia Lawrence's parents desperately seek answers and justice her case is still open but the investigation has been scaled back and a much smaller team now works on it release your rude born October the 29th 2005 relisha tane Rudd was just eight years old when she went missing from the homeless shelter where she lived with her mother stepdad and her three brothers in Washington DC USA in 2014 relisha resided in the former DC General Hospital turned homeless shelter and had been living there since 2012 a far cry from a real home the shelter was prone to heating outages mice infestations and bedbugs and cause relisha so much misery that she'd often fake being ill while staying with relatives so that she wouldn't have to return home releases mother was barely an adult herself when she had her little girl 27 years old when her daughter went missing Shameka young had grown up in the foster care systems and homeless shelters despite having an extended family that passed her daughter from one to another once she was born this only added to release his turbulent childhood where at least three separate complaints were brought to child services about abuse and neglect involving relisha and her siblings however no charges were ever brought against shamekh young or any other family members teachers at releases school pain elementary claimed relisha often turned up with filthy hair dirty clothes and an empty stomach and they kept spare clothes aside for her with cheerleading coach shannon smith helping the little girl wash before class 2014 saw Alicia's life take a sinister turn her mother became friendly with 51 year old Khalil Tatum a janitor at the shelter who'd spent a total of 17 years in prison for various crimes including burglary larceny and Breaking and Entering despite the fact that Tatum was known for mixing with the residents and paying particular attention to young girls but never boys he'd never been disciplined for his unsavory actions Tatum soon became known as releases Godfather and it wasn't long before Shamika allowed her daughter to go on trips and to stay with Tatum he indulged relisha with gifts such as tablet PCs and trips to see Disney on Ice and she often returned from their outings with new clothes or a manicure then around February 26th relisha stopped showing up at school but she was not reported missing family members gave varying reasons as to why they never reported her as such with shamika's justifications being particularly odd at one point she claims she knew her daughter was safe with Tatum whilst at another she claimed release she was with her sister and that she didn't know otherwise to account for her missing child Shameka told Payne Elementary that relisha had health problems and was in the care of dr. Tatum to make things all the more concerning she later claimed that Melisa shamika's mother and militias grandmother was the one who forged the doctor's notes a social worker for the school arranged a meeting with dr. Tatum but upon arriving at the shelter was surprised to find that no such person existed and that Tatum was simply a janitor who had left his shift early that day the social worker immediately contacted authorities and by the time a search for elisha was conducted she'd missed a month of school although a huge search was launched to look for the missing eight-year-old the efforts of all involved were fruitless soon authorities found on settling CCTV footage of Tatum and relisha the first saw the pair walking down the hallway of a Holiday Inn Express in Northeast Washington On February the 26th 2014 whilst the second saw them walking into a room in the Days Inn on New York Avenue this was dated March the 1st 2014 and is the last known proof that release she was still alive on March the 20th Tatum's wife 24 year old Andrea whom he was legally separated from since February 2014 was found dead in a room of the Red Roof Inn in Oxon Hill it was theorized that tatum murdered her for perhaps knowing too much about relisha or for finding out about her or her fate a friend of Tatum's confessed to authorities that he'd looked up information on and downloaded images of a handgun and put them onto an iPad after Tatum had asked him to do so on March the 31st whilst police searched for the missing eight-year-old in Kenilworth Park they stumbled across the body of Tatum in a shed he was dead from an apparent suicide and left no information in regards to the fate of relisha despite the fact that relisha hasn't been found many still hope for her return since her initial disappearance authorities have searched along the Anacostia River in January 2018 and in underground tunnels in January 2019 both located near the shelter but to no avail releases three brothers have since been put into foster care and Shamika young her mother Melissa and releases stepdad Antonia wheeler all appeared on an episode of the Steve Wilkos show the homeless shelter has also been shut down many theories surrounds this appearance whilst authorities believe she was either murdered by tatum or sold into trafficking many online sleuths speculate Shameka sold her daughter to tatum for money or perhaps to cover some sort of drug debt this is partly reinforced by photos on social media that showed Antonia wheeler with wads of cash in his mouth and showing off new trainers and the new mobile phone and many users compare the disappearance of relisha Rudd to the murder of Shania Davis a five year old killed in 2009 by Mario McNeil the pair were also seen together on CCTV and police believe Shanaya was sold to Mario as a way of repaying a drug debt Shania's mother was charged with eight different crimes release her odds fate remains unknown and police are actively following up every tip that comes in so that's three unsolved disappearances caught on camera thank you for watching and we'll see you in the next one
