[Music] what possibly he must end it build my career sorry three years ago I created this giant freak titanium knife and that was a time when I didn't have this Factory and I was really just gonna pull off that video explainer spin three years now when you have three million views on that thing and it pretty much more than YouTube channel launched my career and just pulling up that next level now it is three years down the road and we're gonna do it again this is all together about two meters or solid titanium stops where a 25-mile stick 53 millimeter wide and then you get obviously two thousand four meters just about long we're gonna turn this into six ideally that's the goal that's always shooting for six finish chunk brick titanium just beasts I want them to be mean aggressive models so we're going to basically trussed up chopping this up and make into some pretty epic marks [Music] all right so first thing I'm gonna do is going to take this joy chunk the middle and turn it into manual size pieces so we'll get the bandsaw out and we'll basically to buy this up and five little chunks of metal so probably going to take a while before we've got the bandsaw and figure out how to get it to run automatically sonar to sit there for twenty years and wait for it to cut so taking this Frankie bandsaw ha I'm going to set it up to actually work as a regular metal cutting bed so once again the reason I took this out of the Running Room is true there is no a whole lot of space the groaning group with a 1.8 liter bath would start actually you start running in space here is we'll hook it up and we'll start slicing them down like this and start breaking down the titanium with manageable chunks [Music] so first up we have bandsaw blades so I went out and I bought the entire stock of bandsaw blades they could from the local guys don't fit this bandsaw and I don't think it's enough judge it from last time I did you through a few bandsaw blades in the last video we're gonna try it absolute best to get the most fun alive out of these bandsaw blades as we can I do have more bandsaw blades in order but they're not gonna rock up until after Christmas pour fresh bandsaw blades and this one here which is sort of okay hopefully we can get away with these they go 1-1 this saw doesn't have enough way in the Hadean to cut effectively so it's sort of skimming instead of cutting solution much better so we've kind of ran into a problem in about five minutes of cutting that's pretty much all we've done which isn't too bad but the bandsaw blade is just I mean that's that's not cutting anymore pretty much at all which is not ideal the last time I did this I didn't actually have this problem actually had a different band saw with a bit more of a powerful motor motor and different blades I don't have the bands for anymore and I don't have those blades so I don't know if it's gonna work which is that's not comforting plan B we're just going to get some angle grinder discs and just grind you out of it hopefully it works I know Titanium's horrible to it to cut with an angle grinder so just I'll go out and I'll buy as many as gonna get and we just start you know hacking away at this thing take two [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we've actually floating out on the on the machine so they can actually cut me deeper in the middle we'll just snap it off where we can there we go I'll nicely cut up Oh relatively nicely my stomach hangs on actually my blade profile [Music] I've been running this angle grinder all bloody day and we've made quite the mess so I went through a whole pack of 25 I'm going discs and they just tears through them and I mean I'm cutting from made with two minutes and the dish is just too small to use I mean we've made all of this dust uh how much that's you know titanium how much sure that's angle grunt at this it just rips through them been pretty much going all day you can actually see the angle grinders it's and toasty I've got to give it a rest every arrow too because it gets too hot to touch and I'm worried about you know wrecking this thing so I've got one more disk to go I think I didn't I'll get another pack of 25 to finish this off because it's just I mean this is ridiculous we're just shooting through them like crazy I normally last a whole year of one immigrant pack so yeah this is nice basically true through them in a number of hours this is releasing a lot of gas so what I've done is I've hook this year it up and it's actually pumping the gas outside into the atmosphere so I don't you know died of some sort of horrible metal poisoning yes I'm going to a quick round the Bunnings we're gonna get another pack of enron discs and that should hopefully cover us for the for the rest product this is ridiculous [Music] second pack of abrasives [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so after hours and hours of cutting we've got them all cut out roughly next step we're going to take the other grinders and so we just smooth out this area you know grind this and make it all smooth because obviously that's a really jagged rough edge get them done to essentially this point where they're sort of becoming a knife shape at least that's the call for tonight [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] that's much much later [Music] so we just got finished milling in the spines of these things essentially we some we do is wedge these up and then mill the spine at sort of an angle like is that really cool aggressive stance that makes the knife look mean and fast it also gives a point here we can actually make the this wedge start from which looks cool and actually did all of this milling with one set of carbide inserts not actually planned ahead bought a whole bunch but it turns out one set up you know cheap dodgy little carbide tooling worked fine I mean they are completely now but for what I needed them for it worked great I mean I was pushing them and the machine way past so ever designed to and taking pretty big cuts on the mill which I kind of had to do because I didn't want to be there until next week but it worked great finish is pretty bugs but besides that we're all good and they're all going to get ground again like this one here so the finish is completely completely irrelevant yeah so I'm pretty happy with that the mills screaming hot right now it's not that cool down for a bit and they're going to do some more grinding and milling [Music] all righty so we've cut this thing out I'm all the outsides been cut off the angle grinder in the mill I know good stuff in but how we're going to cut out this internal like shape here the main problem is obviously it's curved so an angle grinder disk is going to take forever and to be pretty dangerous and the cuts can be very sloppy to try and match this curve so what I'm gonna do is same thing I did in the last one is I'm going to take the the drill press and just drill a lot of holes like on this one here and then just sort of remove the material with the drill or set up a cutting disc and then in theory I can just cut this section here cut this section here and this whole area deep and smash that with a sledge II in theory [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] what you're looking at is all of the drills and they are all absolutely routed we've used carbide bits we've used full one kind of been switching on an experiment to win this thing what do you think about it this would twenty holes in each of them by these four and the other two I did so we've been drilling through me this titanium but we've got them cut out and they're looking good so from this stage of growing them out and then we'll basically have the knife at sort of a and knife ish shape at least that's the goal if anyone's got any idea what to do with these things let me know [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] like it took about an hour and a half just to remove all this that's going slowly trying to reserve the inserts which I think might have been wasted time because the inserts a pretty wreck now anyway but we've removed material and hopefully is gonna help us safe belts because obviously you know the inserts is one two dollars a piece and they last longer than a $20 bill [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music]
