it's roughly about i think 4.30-5 o'clock in the morning and we are in who knows where in Jogja walking through a random alley to find our hotel after spending two weeks in bandung, me and Kintanya decided to take a 12-hour luxury sleeper bus to the special region of Jogjakarta known for its traditional arts and cultural heritage, we explore the city and give you our first impressions of what it's like to visit this monarch city what's up guys? good afternoon! before we start today's vlog have to say a quick thank you to my newest youtube members sid and myrna we have now over 55 channel members absolutely incredible to see that so many of you are supporting my travels here in indonesia as you can see behind me, we are at a bus terminal because i've already left bandung actually and today is going to be the beginning of a new travel day so we're currently at the bus terminal in south jakarta waiting for our bus and i'm gonna show you a little bit more of that but first we gotta get our tickets there is one thing that has become very apparent to me since we've been here for the past you know hour is that nobody knows anything Kintanya has gone now twice to the counter the ticket desk and none of them know when the bus is coming and they don't know where the bus is, so we kind of just have to wait around and keep reading the signs on the front of the buses let's go! i heard the, what is it? the back seats (that) he got, the cheaper price you got, because it's getting smaller so we're on the luxury bus now heading to Jogja so if you guys want to see the full experience of what it's like to be on this 12-hour bus ride from jakarta make sure you guys check out Kintanya's channel she's going to do a full review on the actual bus here and the amenities that you get and the full experience from there it's about like 3-4 hours into the ride we've stopped off for a break so we're gonna get off the bus this is the coolest thing ever i did not know that you get cafeteria access with your ticket on the bus and this is something i've never experienced in the states, you know with taking the bus it's so cool you got like probably 50 like buses just parked out here and people just hop off for like a quick 20-30 minute break and get free food and drinks and we got some indomie and some tea this is such a cool rest stop it's nothing like we have in the US, so cool! i would have never known about this if we had had not gotten off the bus okay back on the bus we go we're finally arrived! going on an adventure all right off to the last adventure -the map keeps turning me to different directions -rerouting! rerouting, rerouting, rerouting and this guy just wanna go by his own direction, kinda confusing me anyway welcome to Jogja! look at your hair you fxxking idiot, so idiot! it's roughly about i think 4.30 - 5 o'clock in the morning and we are in who knows where in Jogja walking through a random alley to find our hotel okay this is what we get for $60/night here in jogja then we got ourselves some coffee some tea over here and then this is the bathroom really fancy, it's a really nice bathroom, wow okay so roughly about like 5 o'clock now and it's gonna be an early start to the morning here because we're gonna be here only for 24 hours and oh they have disney hot star, nice! i think i'm gonna shower first and then we'll see where we go so about a month or two ago we saw this netflix show called street food asia and the lady from jogja was on the show and we're about to try some of her food which is absolutely incredible to know that something we watched on netflix is right here in indonesia -look at this! -wow -i still actually have no idea how to describe it -really? okay so this is the famous street food snack in Jogja wow it's really good, it's like a caramel crunchy coconut type of rice cake almost it cost 10k and it took roughly about 30 minutes to wait for it worth it! by the way guys we rented this motorbike for IDR 80k it was a lot easier than renting in surabaya, I will tell you that and it was 80k we got a honda, honday beat i think is what it is yeah so much easier than surabaya -go go go go go go go go! -so exciting -yeah? i'll be in the back you get the front -noo, because you have to shoot it! so this is our ride this morning, we are in the northern mountains of Jogja, incredible! safety first -there's no seat belts -that's why i put this on so right in front of you there is a river called yellow river back then it was lava coming into this area that made it become the river now so that back there used to be a river but that is before at least the volcanic eruption and all the lava flowed into the river and pretty much closed it all on so the village we're currently going through is the only one that's actually theoretically safe from any of the eruptions because of the way the lava flows around wow look how the tv just melted, wow so this entire museum is dedicated to the huge eruption in 2010 so it just gives you a perspective as to how much destruction the volcano brought to this village in this whole area, it's incredible -okay we're gonna see the bunker -okay so we've now arrived at the bunker and well you guys know just about as much as i do right now so i'll let you know once i know more so before we go into this bunker give you a quick explanation what it was for so in 2001 i think, they began building it, building this bunker for protection in case the volcano erupted so that the villagers could get into it because this volcano is only five kilometers away but one year later after it opened the volcano erupted two people got in and never made it out because the lava got in through it how many people you think you could have fitted in here? the bunker created for 30 people and they have a storage for oxygen that can last up to 1-2 hours 1-2 hours? that's it? you could fit way more than 30 people in here way more than 30! this place is like an endless maze, endless maze! we haven't been here for 5 minutes and we've already lost our way through here and we have no idea where our bike is now so after finishing our jeep tour of mount merapi, we headed back to the center of town to enjoy some local food and explore the local markets before we headed back to bali so if you guys made it to the very end of this video please consider subscribing and tune in next week where i'm going to be showing you how much i make on youtube
