hi everyone Aaron here for zolot and this is the allnew Surface Pro 11th Edition or Surface Pro co-pilot plus PC from Microsoft the price starts at $9.99 and goes up to $2.99 depending on CPU and display you have an OLED option which we have here and as you'll see it has a Snapdragon X Elite processor 16 gigs of RAM and 1 tbyte of storage you have a 32 gab option and this is supposedly 90% faster than Surface Pro 9 we also have the new keyboard we'll take a look at that in a moment but let's go ahead and open this up and take a look so we'll pull this back here open it up and this is the new sapphire color we have Sapphire Dune platinum and black let's take this out of here this looks really great just like the new laptop and let's see what we have in here so just like you would expect basically the same thing we had with the laptop so a quick start guide that explains all of the different ports and things and then our warranty card so that's pretty much all you get with it nothing special there and as far as the plugs go let's take a look here we have our surface connector plug so our AC to wall adapter plug that just plugs into the surface block here and then let's go ahead and open this up we just have a surface connector on the other end see if we can open this and just like the surface laptop this has a 39 watt adapter so pretty much the exact same thing inside here let me set this aside now let's go ahead and take a look at the ports on the left hand side we have two USBC ports these are capable of USB 4.0 and also support Thunderbolt we have on the top we have our power sleep wake button we have our volume button and they have this nice matte finish against this anodized aluminum and then on the right hand side we have our surface connector on the bottom we have our keyboard connector and then of course on the sides we have the little cutout here so we can pull back the kickstand and then on the back right if we push down on this we've got our little SSD where we can swap this out if we need to it's just magnetic holds like this so it just goes in like that and that's it we've got our surface stand and you can push this down and you won't break it so it feels a little scary to do that but it's plenty strong and that's the overall look of it and then our camera of course on the back with our microphone we have a camera on the front as well we'll talk about that a little bit later now let's go ahead and take a look at the keyboard so we can put this together and then get it set up and this is a little bit different this year where it's much more expensive and you can use it without being connected to the device we'll show you that in a little bit but this comes in at $449.99 very expensive in black or Sapphire colors and it's reinforced with more carbon fiber so let's see if we can open this up here let's open it up and we have the pen with it as well there we are so it is an Elantra material it looks like and that's all you getting here so just sort of a quick start guide and then the material itself feels just like the other ones and then of course we have our pen in here that just charges while it's in place and the keyboard itself it feels very rigid you can fold this back on itself this time so fold it back like that and then use it on the table separate from the Surface Pro itself so that'll be nice to try out now the good news is this surface is still compatible with older keyboards so you don't have to buy the new one it's compatible with the Surface Pro Flex keyboard Surface Pro keyboard with pen storage Surface Pro signature keyboard Surface Pro keyboard and Surface Pro X signature keyboard and Surface Pro X keyboard so it's great that it has compatibility for all of that we'll click that into place magnetically has a nice strong attachment there and then of course we can stick it up on the screen like this to give it a little bit of an angle let's open up the kickstand here and turn it on so we'll turn it on for the first time let's set the boxes aside here while we wait for this to boot up the overall weight of the device is 1.97 lb without the keyboard or 895 G so it's pretty light overall now let's connect this back on and then of course we have two watt speakers with Dolby Atmos and then we also have dual Studio mics we'll take a listen to the speakers a little bit later now as far as the display while we're still waiting for this to boot up this is a 13-in pixel sense flow display with a 2880 by 1920 resolution at 260 pixels per in in it's the same as the Surface Pro 9 has 120 HZ display Dolby Vision IQ and Gorilla Glass 5 and again like I mentioned it will support up to three external displays plus this display so it looks like we're ready to go let's go ahead and see if we can turn the display down at all there we go and get this set up of course we have our accessibility options in the bottom right and it will talk back as needed if we need to use that we'll select our region here click next again the United States for me but select wherever you're from then the type of keyboard you're using in this case for me it's the US keyboard but you could select any of the others and you can add additional layouts as well again we'll click next and then what language do you want to use I want to use English here so let me find that this trackpad is very smooth so far there we go English United States we'll click next and then it says which keyboard layout or input method would you like to choose and again we'll add that layout I don't know why it made me go back and do that now we'll connect to Wi-Fi now it says please review the license agreement we'll click accept then we can name the device so we'll name it Surface Pro 11 click next and it says just a moment now it's installing updates during the setup process and it says the co-pilot key instantly access your everyday AI companion that's the button here on the keyboard so you have that now if we click next it says co-creator lets your imag IM ination paint the picture then craft striking visuals with image Creator and photos so these are all new AI tools and express yourself with Windows Studio Effects and then translate and caption audio and video in real time and then quickly fix things you've seen on your PC this is recall it's actually been recalled so they're not showing this yet it's a way to sort of go back in time but it records your display so they're probably figuring out some better way to do that as far as privacy and security so we'll wait for everything to up update and then we'll continue on setting this up now it says unlock your Microsoft experience so we'll go ahead and click sign in and then I'll sign in with my Microsoft ID now it says want to use your face to sign in faster and more securely we'll tap yes let's set it up and then we'll tilt this towards my face here see if we can get it set up it says that's it you're all set we'll tap next and we'll continue on now we'll set up a pin so I'll create the pin now I'll click on okay we'll give it just a moment now it says choose your privacy settings for your device we have location find my device diagnostic data I typically turn off inking and typing tailored experience and that's all about diagnostic data I'll turn that off and click next then I'll click accept now it says coming soon quickly find things you've seen with recall we talked about that before that's actually delayed for right now so we'll click next and continue here now it's asking if I want to backup or restore from a backup of my PCS yesterday I want to set it up as a new PC this time around so I don't have to wait for it and then we'll set up as a new pc so we'll wait for this here for the next screen and see what we have it says getting things ready for you it's taking just a moment and then of course we'll check for updates as well now it's saying let's customize your experience so you want to use it for development we want to use it for entertainment gaming creativity and maybe business we'll click accept again it's asking if I want to use the phone from your PC or with your PC I'll skip that for now and then it's also asking if I want to use one drive with my photos I'll just click skip for now and it says always have access to your recent browsing data I'll click accept that just syncs things across different devices and then it's asking if I want to have a trial of Microsoft 365 I don't use that at all so I'll go ahead and click Decline and again we'll wait for it to set up should be almost done here it says finishing up and there we go we're in so here's the new default wallpaper it didn't actually show up on the surface laptop but this is the new default wallpaper on this OLED display which looks great now let's go ahead and see if we have any updates here so all of a sudden this the mouse isn't working but the see if we can disconnect and reconnect there we go we can use Touch on here but for whatever reason the mouse stopped working let see if the pen will work so the pen works fine it just must be something with the trackpad here we'll go ahead and close this we'll go into here and check for update so let's see if we can do updates nothing's working with the keyboard so I'm not sure why that is but the pen works and touchcreen works so let's go in here we'll detach this for now just so we can check for updates and let's see what we've got so updates check for system updates and we have a few different ones so let's go ahead and get this fully updated and then we'll continue from there and now that I've reattached the keyboard and the updates are done here it's working we'll go ahead and hit restart and then we'll continue checking out windows 11 on the Microsoft Surface Pro 11 now I've been installing quite a few things it rebooted everything's good to go and now you'll see that it says you're all set with the new Surface keyboard so maybe it needed to do that in order to get this to work properly I'm still installing quite a few different programs and things and while I get this ready I took a look at the pwm or pulse with modulation as far as the way it displays brightness so it will flicker the screen faster and slower typically on oleds and this does seem to have it however on this main display it's hard to see but if we switch to a web page you can see it at 240 frames per second now if this is something you're sensitive to it's about 1 in 10 people including myself but if the rate is high enough as it appears here it's probably not going to bother your eyes however if that is a concern you can always get the LCD version that's a little bit less money for this device so that's just something worth noting as far as the overall speakers let's take a listen to those since we're waiting for this to update [Music] [Music] [Music] the speakers are nice and Loud they go very loud much louder than I would have expected and they have decent base not incredible but it definitely seems a little bit better than the surface laptop to me and seems less distorted at higher volume so pretty impressive overall as far as the heat of the device well while I'm installing a ton of different updates it's very hot in the back I don't actually hear any fans although maybe there is one it's very very quiet so again take a list and I'll hold it like this and move the microphone I've not heard the fans get any louder than that whatsoever so that's pretty impressive as far as the keyboard goes before we check benchmarks and everything else the keyboard feels very solid very rigid this time around compared to previous ones I've used we can detach it just like this so detach it then fold it in on it on itself and then we can still continue to use it so you'll see here it just works wirelessly now which is really nice so if you want to use it like that go into Edge or Chrome or whatever you'd like the trackpad works really well in fact this is probably the closest to a Mac trackpad I've used very very similar swipe up go into all of your different things you'll see it's a little bit choppy because I'm installing so many things but it was very fast before if you want to attach it of course you can and and then if we go in like this and then if we take the pen out this is a little bit tricky to get out of here take the pen out click the button let's see if we go home and then of course it's just Windows Inc just like you would expect so we can go into our different apps whatever you want to use you have the option for so there's 365 if we want to go into co-pilot we can do that and of course we have the new co-pilot key so if we go into co-pilot and say tell me about the new Surface Pro 11 give it a second it should return something here it says the Surface Pro 11 is Microsoft's latest two-in-one laptop it talks about the Snapdragon X Elite and plus processors and the optional OLED display so it has a 1 million to1 contrast ratio so really nice to have that option with co-pilot and then again with Windows inking you have all of the different options so click the pen here if we want to go into the settings here that'll open one note of course but let's see if we can go into our we'll go into one note agree got it and then of course let's close all of these out we'll click hit next don't send don't personalize that's fine and of course we have all of our different options here like you would expect so really nothing new here although we do have a little bit of haptic feedback it feels like in the pen itself but it's what you would expect with Windows inking so if we go in here and we'd want to draw on anything we can do that or you can just use it to browse if you want and this touch screen is super sensitive just like you would expect a little bit of chop again as I'm installing so many different things as far as the sound of the keyboard let's go ahead and take a listen to that so again we'll go into one note this is the new Surface Pro take a listen to how it sounds that gives you an idea of what it sounds like and the trackpad is similar it does have a nice click to it again take a listen and that gives you an idea of it overall so really nice keyboard I do like that you can detach it as far as battery life I haven't seen that listed anywhere as far as what the battery life of this keyboard will be let's see if it will tell me anything about that see what it is here nothing that's real obvious if we go to our battery settings it just tells us our power and battery and of course this is plugged in but it's not telling me anything about this keyboard itself let's see if we have additional settings the only settings I could find are for the pen itself so I don't see anything for the keyboard not specifically for this keyboard just yet let me see if I can find those so just your typical settings here so nothing really different that I can find maybe there'll be a different change in the future but I don't see any obvious battery status for this keyboard I would like to see that however that's working now as far as the internal battery the Surface Pro 11 with the OLED display has a 53w hour battery the LCD display has a 48w hour battery but both are capable of up to 14 hours of video playback and 10 hours of active web usage we have WiFi 7 and Bluetooth wireless 5.4 technology now as far as the overall speed and everything else let's go ahead and see what we can get now that it's cooled down significantly it's barely warm here let's see what we get we'll go into our power settings here and then we'll make sure we're on the right thing so we'll switch this over to best performance some people ask me what I was on before when I ran geekbench so let's go ahead and run that so we'll go to geekbench 6 let's close out Steam and everything else we'll get back to that a little bit later we'll close out edge here and let's click later and then we'll run the CPU Benchmark and see what we get so let's go ahead and run this keep in mind it did just install a bunch of things but let's see what we get it was pretty impressive before and Microsoft Compares this to the M3 from Apple so we'll see how it Compares with that and the M4 with the iPad benchmarks completed and we have 2,8 16 for single core 13,820 for multicore keep in mind we're in performance mode here so if we go to the battery you'll see it says best performance there so that's what I'm scoring right away just running this for the first time and compared to the M3 on my MacBook Air I tested a little while ago I had 2,993 for single core and 11,254 for multicore on the MacBook Air compared to the new iPad with M4 in it let's go ahead and take a look as I have one here and you can see the difference in scores so definitely a difference where the M4 iPad Pro has 3,776 for single core 14,21 155 for multicore to me the impressive thing here is this is plenty fast compared to any of the Apple products and hopefully can play games and things like that let's test a couple and I did try to install Call of Duty it won't let me do that so it will not allow me to install it I tried through battle.net nothing was working like that at all so unfortunately it won't let me do that but I was able to install the finals and City skylines so if we go into City's skylines we'll give it a second to run here now that it's starting to run the game I can definitely hear the fans they're a little bit louder again take a listen not real loud at all though you can hear them but they're not overly loud but that's probably the loudest they get so again we'll wait for this to load it is taking a moment since it's the first time now by default it has it at600 by 900 and then it has all of the quality settings to high now this is not the latest version of City skylines I actually don't really care for that one but as we zoom in and out you'll see the frame rate does lag at first that's very normal even on my RTX 3090 so once we zoom in here maybe we'll tilt go in rotate around and you can see everything looks pretty good now once you zoom in and out it speeds up as far as the frame rate goes like I mentioned and then if we press play running it the fastest speed here if we Zoom back in see if we can zoom in here you can see traffic on the road let's move over and it's not incredible frame rate but this game isn't incredible but just to be able to run this on a tablet with all these settings in high there's rain going on is pretty impressive not incredible but definitely really nice so you could play this game on here it's from Steam let's go ahead and quit that we'll quit to desktop and then let's see if we can run the finals and what kind of frame rate we get with that now it's laun ing the finals let's see what happens here see how long this takes and I've tried to load this multiple times both within Steam and without and it's just not working for me let me give it one more try and see what we can do and I can't get it to run so there's definitely some odd things going on with this in previous videos I wasn't able to run X defy I can't install Call of Duty so I wouldn't buy this if you were planning to game anyway and then someone else had actually asked me to see if figma would run so let's see if we can get that to run as well so within figma here's a flowchart and it looks like it runs just fine so if you want to use the pen of course you could Mark things up you could just draw with the pen so if we take this out then we can just Mark things up as needed whatever we want use the pen with it and then also design with figma as well so you have all the options here and it looks like after just using this for a moment and I'm not familiar with this program very much at all but it looks like it's very fast when I'm using it and again this is a version that's actually designed for arm so this should be much faster than normal as it's more of a native app compared to something else so again everything's really seemingly fast feels very responsive and I'm not a expert in this app but it seems very very fast another thing I wanted to mention that I forgot earlier is the keyboard does have a backlight so if I turn off the lights here press this button you can see that we have different levels of backlight so if I press this button we do have a backlight and if I disconnect the keyboard here let's do that again we still have a backlight while it's disconnected so it's great that it has that feature as far as the camera goes let's go ahead and go into the camera we'll open the app here and we'll test it out so give it just a moment here you can see the camera here with the effects so in the upper right we've got automatic framing eye contact background effects with standard and portrait blur so if we have it blurred let's go ahead and see what this actually sounds like so we'll hit record and this is the forward-facing camera on the new Surface Pro 11 it looks a little bit choppy on the display as I'm recording but let me know what you think it looks like as far as the quality and as far as the Audio I did make a mistake in my last video with the surface laptop where I brought the audio over from this microphone so this time I'm using the correct audio from the Surface Pro but again let me know what you think of it in the comments below so we'll stop that and then of course we can take photos and everything else and there's not a whole lot more to do with this other than record photo and video and then of course it would be fine for different meetings and things you have the rear camera as well and I wouldn't recommend using it for anything serious but you have it there as an option if you want to so 4K video on the rear camera so I think this is a pretty capable machine so far I wouldn't recommend it for gaming necessarily but until things are more native or you want to play specific games I'd probably hold off on that but either way this seems plenty fast just using it maybe you want to use Chrome everything just seems fairly fast here no issues whatsoever if we go to Microsoft of course we'll go to Microsoft Surface everything loads nice and fast with Wi-Fi 7 and it seems very smooth I think a lot of people will really like this for regular work and it doesn't seem to be limited other than in gaming with the new arm processor so Photoshop should work on here Premiere isn't exactly for this device yet but I'm sure they'll update it but it seems plenty fast as far as those who have tested that out but let me know what you think of the new Surface Pro 11 are you picking one up or what do you think about this between the laptop this new processor seems really nice and should help with battery life and hopefully performance with upcoming games and the switch sort of to arm overall if there's anything you'd like to see specifically about this device or the surface laptop let me know in the comments below and if you haven't subscribed already please subscribe and if you enjoyed the video please give it a like as always thanks for watching this is Aaron I'll see you next time
