2023 Mustang Magic Trainer's Challenge: Week 1

got a good drink they've all been fed this horse is like not bothered by anything really pretty mover too i mean all of them are really good i'm really excited to see what they're like when we separate them off there you go okay this is deliciosa okay i forgot the name this is sabrosa here she'll run it that way it right there oh bro okay right here i don't give a pressure i just forgive you she like you a little pressure right there the point he responded depression is his right here oh this is what is that again what he no pull gonna give you depression as good oops i'm not supposed some horses do the stuff when they when they smell it too much they're going to bite you what i do this one shows coming towards her don't let it put the nose in my hands good way she's a little aggressive i mean yeah that's what i was worried about those ones that are a little more chill can be aggressive stuff they see you come and punch you or do something different she they will start attacking you what do you want to have to soros yeah she will i'm going to switch hands so we'll see how she feels about that and then if i have to rope her so i'm hoping that me coming approaching her like this now doing a bunch of this right now tomorrow it'll be really easy for me to be able to approach her and put a lead rope on her you know be able to get this hooked and put a lead rope on her giving the treat this kind of approach and retreat business that's really good it just kind of sucks because like so that's that's a really good thing right there i don't let them eat that until like i i back off i don't want the horse eating something right next to me like that at this stage because i don't want them to feel like they need to protect it and protect protect their food from me no i could it got her hock a little bit very good do again do again okay you see right here pull a little bit she move now i was soft depression and in case the horses when you give soft pressure they start fighting you are you keep the pressure like this and pull before they they turn the other side i don't know not like her like comments i said not like how cold operation like this sure not your shoulder give you the impression like myself it got me back like like the other side [Music] oh she was responsible because right here i know when i messed up the face like i did the force you know do nothing but i respect that one after work shows the hair back if she knows no i know do nothing in the face because you do too much the face every time they see the water they start like running away because they don't like they give you water they face okay so this is day four with her and i went ahead and i gave her some pellets earlier because when i'm when i'm using food i don't want to cause any anxiety with food so um i want to make sure that she's satiated before i come in and do positive reinforcement so she doesn't get too excited about it doesn't cause any anxiety or worry shouldn't move away so i'm just really telling her in her language that i don't mean her any harm and i'm not a predator so this is super nice she's really really soft with me i like that she is a little bit um worried about other horses so like when a sitter's mare comes up over here i just got to be you know really aware that she um might get distracted or might spook away from her or might get worried about that other horse and then i'll have to worry about that later so when she kind of comes into me a little bit i'm actually blocking her and pushing her way i don't want her to feel like she can just come into my space and i want to stop that very very early on because that can really lead into her pushing me around that can lead into a little nip or something and that can escalate so i don't want that oh boy are we itchy oh can you be any sweeter they can help you really do a lot so i kind of have to give her a little bit of big movement so that was really nice like she kind of got a little stuck there this is super nice i'm really really happy with this she's just like she just decides to trust which is super cool she's like oh okay that wasn't bad and then like she's good with it instead of like like she's so ready to trust like i need to do a lot of right now because she's like like she doesn't even care if i do that she's like do whatever to me i think with this horse i'm going to have more of an issue getting her to move than necessarily her being like spooky on stuff so i do a little soft give and take so that she kind of understands to follow that around very nice so we'll just build on that every day a little bit that was really good good job honey good job good good job good girl she's kind of getting the hang of that she's like i want to walk forward no we don't walk forward so i'm just going to stop her with my i keep my whip up here good oh let's stop her again okay i don't blame you for sure what i wanted they're now achieving that's good right here i can drop it over the back everything you see how sensitive she is let me know i can't see yeah i like cables i come by you see this [Music] this is good because i can touch it all here back and then i come in a little more closer to her i was like jumping this does not sound good go again first you are doing this high or or what other side do the stuff you understand more [Music] oh [Music]
