[Applause] [Music] what's up guys i'm chad and this is the 2022 road glide special coming up we're going to do a ride in review we're going to talk about a brief overview of the roguelite special and all of its features we're going to talk about a little bit of the history of the roguelite special all the way from what it was called a tour glide and then i'm going to talk about things that i like and i don't like so stay tuned all that's coming up so the difference between 2021 and 2022 is there isn't really a difference i think the dipstick's made of a different material that's about it you still get the option of black or chrome on the engine you still get the stretch bags the upgraded audio the painted interfering the new center console the chopped engine guards it's all exactly the same from 2021 to 2022. you've got different color options that's about it so i think let's talk more about what makes the road glide a road glide so the only thing that separates the road glide from any other model in the lineup is the sparing this fairing was designed with thousands of hours of wind tunnel testing for a rider and passenger comfort in mind supposedly it creates a big bubble of air around you and the passenger to reduce fatigue for longer hauls it also reduces wind noise so you can hear your speakers a little bit better there's a lot of benefits to it i personally don't see a huge difference between the street glide and the road glide i think the most different thing you would find between the two models is distance between yourself and the cockpit you get a little bit more space in the cockpit taller guys like the road glide over the street glide and i totally understand that i get that that makes sense but as far as cross winds handling gusts and high miles per hour touring for long periods of time i don't think there's a big difference i can tour just fine on a street glide versus a real glide just my opinion no a lot of guys are gonna be out there butt hurt leave some leave something down in the comments if you're mad about that so it's hard to explain it's all it's all opinionated from bike to bike i like more of a sporty feel the street light is not a bad bike the street glide's a great motorcycle i just think that the road glide does feel a little bit sportier people have a hard time getting over the uh the fairing on the road glide like apparently it screws with their head about the bars turning but the the bike not but at high speeds you really don't notice the street light fairing turning either good power the 114 is a powerhouse we're going to test the 0-60 here in a minute actually that's what all bagger guys want to know what's the 0-60 well today we'll find out stay tuned i'm gonna keep you guys rolling while i fill up all right remove the nozzle premium only guys remember premium only some bubs rolling off some brothers a guy in a fat boy with bags and a fairing sick he should have bought a street glide i don't have to screw with a latch putting gas on so much easier let's get this uh 0-60 underway so i'm gonna i'm gonna give it three runs i know it's a brand new motorcycle but the great thing is it's not ours all right so we've got it recording zero to sixty everything's set we hit what was that four point four two zero sixty on a road glad that's not let's run it back we got that there we go round two let's see what round two's got for us 4.66 so let's try that one more time and see if we can get a better than 4.42 i think is what it was so back it out start it up there we go let's turn off traffic control see if that helps us at all okay uh 4.43 so pretty consistently 4.4 seconds 4.4 to 4.5 seconds i'm not going to do this too many times because we're on a public street the speed limit is 65 on this street harley went to a cable clutch and back to a cable clutch in 2021 some people were stoked about it some people were excited about it some people weren't very happy about it i personally don't mind the cable clutch i don't mind the cable clutch i like the ability to adjust my clutch i like my clutch to let out way up top versus way down low a lot of people want their clutch to like right there and i don't like that but if you had hydraulic you didn't have the option to adjust it you were just kind of stuck we're doing 40 miles an hour right now i'm not getting a whole lot of wind it is kind of coming up around the sides and up onto my chest but not a huge deal that doesn't really bother me too much i'm more concerned with my face wind buffeting is really annoying if you guys have ever ridden a bike without a windshield or a fairing you're gonna know exactly what i'm talking about you get that little bobble on the top of your head really annoying also what's really annoying is when there's you have the ability to turn right on red and then the guy that's in front of you is uh he's going straight but he's in the right lane uh drag torp slip control is a feature that i don't often use but when you can feel it kick in you're definitely grateful for it you got to be riding really aggressively to take advantage of the drag torp slip control drag corp slip control is essentially if you downshift too quickly i'm going to explain it very simple if you downshift too quickly it prevents your back tire from locking up because the speed of your motor isn't matched with the speed of your tire so if you're doing 80 miles an hour and you downshift into first gear your motor is going to wrap out and your back tire is going to drag drag torp slip control is made to prevent that from happening and i'll give you a scenario where it would help you out if you're going into a corner this is the only scenario i can really think of um wet roads it definitely would help in wet roads too um but if you're if you're setting up for a corner riding a little bit more aggressively setting up for a corner and you downshift to set up for the corner but you didn't anticipate the speed of the engine as accurately as you should it's going to prevent that back tire from sliding out on you so you can still set up for the corner properly so right now here i'm i'm in fourth gear we're going up a hill 1800 rpms no need to downshift let's go fifth gear all right nevermind we're going downhill now like i said low speed maneuver is no it's no problem let me get going before this car gets out here good acceleration the motor never like bogs down uh if you guys have a 103 right now you remember the 103 when you're starting off down below like 1800 rpms the 103 just acted like it wasn't having it it would chatter on you it would bog down a little bit you got almost feather the clutch out you could still get going from a stop without the like feathering the clutch but it didn't it didn't respond as well as the milwaukee eight and especially the 114 the 114 just kind of like 114 is kind of like all right let's go my favorite way to disengage cruise control is to roll the throttle forward because the other ways of turning off your cruise control are hit the clutch or you can hit the brakes so if you want to turn cruise control off without losing all your momentum just roll forward on the throttle and it cuts it the bike from the factory is extremely comfortable though i think the bars are a little bit taller than the street glide and again you get a little bit more space on the road glide versus the street glide so ville's very comfortable comfortable and open low speed maneuverability is good didn't want to grab the gear right there this thing is flickable it wants to just roll back and forth it doesn't give you any pushback there's no trouble i think harley nailed it with the tire sizes you know sometimes you go too wide some some people will go wider on their tires just because they think they'll get you know a ton more traction but then when you do something like that you eat up your sidewall you take agility and maneuverability out of the situation so it's really not a good thing i uh i like the 180 rear tire as long as you got a good sticky tire back there it hooks up just fine i'm cruising with this bike i'm seated like straight up and down my legs are in the right spot i'm 5 11. so taller guys if you need a little bit a little bit more leg room you can do a tall boy seat you can do a forward control kit there's a lot of things you can do to make this thing comfortable but i think from the factory anybody that you know between like 5 10 to 6 2 would be comfortable [Music] [Applause] [Music] another big reason why guys like the roguelite is how much space you get it's a hundred percent a fact of how much space you get between the rider and the cockpit this is mounted further back than the street glide is so bigger guys feel like they have more space the only downside to it is you have to lean further forward to touch your screen not a problem if you're riding because these joysticks right here these are your one touch controls you can control everything from the gts with those controls so it's not a big deal you're not going to be leaning forward touching the screen anyways so if you're a big guy 511 6 foot and up you're going to find the road glide a little bit more comfortable for that reason so we've had a year to find out exactly what our customers think about this new center console and the verdict is they like it um it looks good it's clean it's efficient you don't have to pop a tab open and then unscrew the cap and then maybe the tab doesn't want to pop open because it hasn't been greased this you got the offset gas cap unscrew it pop it off you're good to go and it looks way better again good job harley on that that's an upgrade that i didn't even think of but i'm glad you guys did it shout out to harley for stretch bags this has been one of the biggest selling points for people with pre-2018 models that wanted to come in and upgrade their bikes the stretch bags give this whole rear end a custom look you also get a little bit more storage highly recommend any bike with the stretch bags in the past seven years harley's made a lot of changes that have made the road glide special the number one selling bike for our dealership and i would be willing to bet for the nation it's a juggernaut it's the whole package it's a good looking bike it handles well and it's comfortable for long haul so that about wraps this video up if you guys have anything that you'd like to see me do on the next video drop a comment down below please like subscribe and share my videos and stay tuned for the next one later guys [Music]
