hey y'all it's robin welcome back to my channel today i am sharing my 15 most anticipated books for 2022. i had a really hard time coming up with this list because there were so many books that i put on my five star predictions list that would also be on here and i didn't want to just rehash all of those books and then like add in a couple more because i was like i don't want this video to be 30 books long but i also don't want it to not include those five star books so i had such a hard time coming up with this list but i ended up landing on 15 books that i'm really excited about most of these were not on that five star predictions i did put a couple of them on here because i'm just so excited for them but if you want to see some other books that i'm highly anticipating and i think will be five stars i will link my five star predictions video in the cards as well as in the description box and i will also link my entire 2022 shelf on goodreads for all of the books that i am anticipating or have my eye on for the new year i think it's up to nearly 150 books at this point so that will be down in the description box as well i am also considering making a graphic a la kayla from books and lala who always has like a graphic for her most anticipated books so i'm considering making that as well so that i can check them off throughout the year there are 15 books on this list summer sequels summer standalones some are new to me authors let's just get right into the list so i have my computer off to the side because for some of these i either don't remember the synopsis or i've never read them so i am going to try and give you at least a somewhat small synopsis for all of these i'm going to try and keep it short since there are 15 books to talk about i don't want this video to be a million years long but the first book on this list is a gallant by v.e schwab i am so excited for this book and it's really funny because i think in a previous year um on my blog i talked about how i was never going to read another v schwab book because i read the darker shade of magic series and i dnf'd it at book one and then i read vicious and i gave it three stars and i was like ah maybe this author just isn't for me but i read loved city of ghosts and then invisible life of addie larue is one of my favorite books of all time so i am back on the ve schwab train and this sounds so strange and so good and i'm really really excited for it everything casts a shadow even the world we live in and with every shadow there is a place where it must touch a seam where the shadows meet its source victoria schwab weaves a dark and original tale about the place where the world meets its shadow and the young woman beckoned by both sides the secret garden meets crimson peak in this standalone fantasy novel that sounds absolutely amazing i believe this is set at like an all girls boarding school it's fantastical it sounds super super strange and i just i don't even want to read like there is a full synopsis like that was just like the little pitch the last little part says she crafts a vivid and lush novel that grapples with the demons that are often locked behind closed doors an eerie standalone saga about life death and the young woman beckoned by both i'm just i'm really excited it sounds gothic and creepy it's not at a boarding school just all of the things that i love and i love that victoria schwab is taking like some serious risks with these books like she is tackling like invisible life of addy larue tackling somebody who's like constantly forgotten and then this one being like the seam between life and death these are just like really vast ideas and i'm just i'm really really excited for this book and this might be this might be my most anticipated book for the entire year which is wild because sarah j maas has a book coming out and her book is actually not on this list but i think i think gallant is my most anticipated book of the entire year next up is a book i had no idea was coming out until really recently and it immediately skyrocketed to the top of this list and that is spells for forgetting by adrienne young and this is adrienne young's first adult book i love the fables duet that's all i think i've read from her so far but i loved that duet so much i did read the spin-off as well but this is an adult book and it is an adult fantasy mystery i believe the synapses says that it is a rural island community steeped in the mystical superstitions of its founders and haunted by an unsolved murder is upended by the return of the suspected killer in this deeply atmospheric novel emery's life was forever changed on the eve of her high school graduation when the love of her life was accused of murdering her best friend now she is doing what her teenage self swore she would never do living a quiet existence amongst the community that fractured her world in two she'd once long to run away with her boyfriend eager to escape the misty remote shores of the island and chase new dreams but now she maintains her late mother's tea shop and cares for her ailing father but just as the island rooted in folklore tradition begins to show signs of strange happenings the ex-boyfriend returns for the first time in 14 years and unearths the past that nobody remembers this just sounds everything like everything i love in a mystery thriller small town atmospheric setting people returning from the past i'm so so excited to pick this up in 2022. next up on this list is a book that is coming out right away at the beginning of january and it's one of the books that i'm going to be reading first in 2022 and that is 11 other disasters by anita kelly i just talked about this book i believe in my winter tbr which i will link up in the cards and down below but this is a adult rom-com and it is following two people who are on a cooking competition the heroine is a recent divorcee who is kind of like trying to regain control of her life she has fallen onto some hard times both financially and emotionally after her divorce and she is determined to win this competition and take back control of her life but her first day on the competition she ends up embarrassing herself by falling down she ends up striking up an unlikely friendship with the first openly non-binary contestant on the show and the two of them kind of have this friendship and they team up together even though they're competitors they end up like relying on each other and slowly they form a relationship and it just something about this cover and the synopsis it just calls to me and i am so so excited for this book so it's gonna be one of the first books i pick up in the new year and i can't wait the next book on this list is actually a three-parter and that is because ali hazelwood who is the author of the love hypothesis is releasing a series of novellas and they are under one roof stuck with you and below zero all of these as far as i know are stem romances and i have not looked at the synopsis for a single one of them and i believe all of them are coming to audio first if i am not mistaken i'm not 100 on that i recently saw her pitch all of these on her instagram i believe she said they're coming to audio first and none coming to kindle they're all being released through berkeley but i don't believe they're coming in a physical format until later on so i believe this like three-part novella is following like these three heroines who are all friends and each one of them is getting a romance the first one is following an environmental engineer the second one is following a civil engineer and the third one is following a aerospace engineer and in case you don't know i am an electrical engineer but i work as a software engineer and so pretty much all you have to get me to do to read read a book is say that the heroine is an engineer and i will i will read it ellie hazelwood is also a scientist and so i'm really i'm really excited for these three novellas i absolutely can now wait i believe they are all releasing like pretty close together yeah it looks like they are releasing in may june and july i absolutely cannot wait the next book on this list is another follow-up to a book that i loved earlier in this year and that is feed them silence by lee mandelo and this has one of the strangest synopsis i've ever read this is a sci-fi book and sci-fi is not my genre but i loved summer suns so much that i will read absolutely anything that lee mandela writes i'm just gonna read you the synopsis because it is very strange and it says this begs the question what does it mean to be in kind with non-human animals dr sean uses a neurological interface to translate a subject wolf's perception for human consumption but as her relationship with the subject becomes complicated she puts her research and marriage at risk when her grant is accepted she begins her research of cooperative behaviors in one of minnesota's last remaining wolf packs but she is wholly unprepared for the emotional turmoil that comes with inhabiting and translating a wolf's consciousness the longer she observes the wolf and her pack the more she drifts away from her wife as the harsh winter months threaten the pack survival and her marriage spirals down the drain she will have to face the consequences of her negligence or let the world of wolves and the world she's known both slip through her fingers i have no understanding of what this book is about it sounds like the scientist falls in love with a pack of wolves and it destroys her marriage and i am so intrigued [Music] and i just i'm really really excited to see the tone of this book of like the direction of this book i have i have no idea where this book is gonna go but i i trust lee mandelo because summersons was just so good next up would it be a list of mine if katie robert was not on it i am so excited for the demons bride by katie robert this is katie roberts first monster romance and i am i am so ready katie robert is actually the one that like got me into reading monster romances because she was posting about them so much on her instagram that i i had i had to pick them up and this is her her addition to the monster romance genre as you can see it is following this giant dragon and all i know about it is that this dragon captures this bride and the two of them fall in love the heroine's name is briar rose and it says briar rose might have the name out of a storybook but she learned at a very young age that no prince is coming to save her she'll have to save herself unfortunately even that is an impossible task when she is trapped in a terrifying marriage to a dangerous man desperate times call for desperate measures which is how she finds herself making a deal with a demon freedom for her husband and return seven years of service i'm so excited if anyone can pull off like the most epic monster romance it's gonna be katie robert and i i cannot wait to see i cannot wait to see what this book gives me the next book on this list is a book i know a lot of people have been waiting a lot longer for than i have but that is of the long game by rachel reid and this is technically book six in the game changer series but this is the follow up to heated rivalry which is which was book two in that series and it follows shane and isla and this is the continuation of their romance i have not read the rest of the books in the series but heated rivalry is one of my favorite books of the year and i'm just i'm so excited that they they're getting another another romance i believe it is coming out in april it doesn't have a cover yet it doesn't have a synopsis i don't know like what it follows but i loved i loved heated rivalry so much and i loved these characters and they do get like a happily for now at the end of heated rivalry but like there was some stuff that was like left hanging so i i'm so excited for this one like i said i have no i have no idea what the synopsis is because there isn't one yet but it should be coming in april and i i can't wait next up is another mm sequel and that is husband material by alexis hall this is the follow-up to boyfriend material which was one of my favorite books of last year we are getting not only the sequel but i believe next year or in 2023 we are getting a third book following these characters which is so so exciting this one like i said the the follow-up to boyfriend material and so we are following luke and oliver and in book one they had a fake relationship and they ended up with their happily for now it says that it seems like everyone around them is getting married and luke's feeling the social pressure to propose but it'll take more than four weddings a funeral and a bowl full of special curry to get these two from i don't know what i'm going to do good thing oliver is such perfect husband material it it sounds really cute i'm guessing they're going to be attending a bunch of weddings and everyone's going to be trying to get them to get married and i just i loved these characters so much their banter their opposites attract sort of romance is so cute and i cannot wait to be back with these characters and back in this world taking a total turn the next book on this list is a wilderness of stars by shea ernshaw and shea earnshaw quickly shot to the top of my like auto buy favorite authors list after winter wood which i know is such an unpopular opinion because a lot of people didn't like that book but there is something about shae earnshaw's writing that just works for me i love her atmospheric settings and this sounds like it is going to be right in line with that and this is actually another like sci-fi fantasy which is really weird that i have so many like sci-fi-esque books on this anticipated list so it says we're following a girl who has lived in the valley her entire life forbidden by her mother to leave the safety of its borders because of the unknown threats waiting in the wilds beyond but when her mother dies she begins to see stars falling from the sky it is an omen she can no longer ignore forcing her to leave the protective boundaries of the valley but the outside world turns out to be much more terrifying than she could have imagined and people are gravely sick they lose their eyesight and their hearing just before they lose their lives what she keeps to herself is that she is the last astronomer a title carried from generation to generation and she is the only one who carries the knowledge of the stars knowledge that could hold the key to the cure when the locals spot the tattoo on her neck in the shape of a constellation the mark of the astronomer chaos erupts as the threats her mother warned her about become too real fearing for her life she is rescued by a girl who will lead her to noah a boy marked by his own mysterious tattoos the three of them on the run from the men who are hunting her will cross the plains in the search of the cure the star speak of but as the lines between friend and prisoner begin to blur she must decide whether she will protect the sacred knowledge or if she will risk everything to save them all this book sounds so magical and that synopsis every time i read it i swear i get chills it sounds so beautiful i absolutely cannot wait for this book going back to sequels this is the follow-up to these hello vows and that is these twisted bonds by lexi ryan this is the second and final book in the these hello vows series and this is just a really fun faye why a romance it has all of the classic fae tropes there's a love triangle you have the different courts you have kind of like a cinderella beauty and the beast esque subplot you have a heroine who is learning a bunch of secrets about the fae there's a lot of politicking and all kinds of stuff and this series is just such a good time and i loved where book one left off and i'm definitely going to reread book one right before this one releases this doesn't come out until july but i have requested an arc so hopefully hopefully i can pick it up sooner a another fantasy sequel who even am i i am really excited for the oleander sword by tasha suri this is the follow up to the jasmine throne and the jasmine throne is this like big chunky fantasy that i was so intimidated by but it was such a fast read i loved the way that tasha suri built this world because it never felt like super overwhelming because she like slowly integrated the world building throughout the whole book and so i absolutely flew through that story there are a ton of perspectives but i didn't mind that at all they're all labeled at the head of the chapter and i was equally engaged in all of the different like people so i just i ended up loving that first book and i'm really excited for this sequel i have talked about this on my instagram but i have been hating all of the cover reveals for 2022 but this one i actually really love i love the green of this cover this is so beautiful and i'm really really excited for this book i have not i've not looked at the synopsis for this i will probably reread the justin throne before going into this one it does not have a release date yet but it does have a cover and it does say 2022 and i know that tasha suri has been working on edits for this book because i follow her on social media so i'm sure this will be coming out sometime in 2022 i will definitely be picking it up as soon as i can the next book on this list is a book that was on my five star predictions list and i again cannot make a list without putting emily henry on it so book lovers by emily henry is again probably my number one or number two most anticipated book of the entire year this is by the same author that wrote beach read and people we made on vacation both of which either were or will be on my top books of the year the synopsis says a literary agent must decide if happily ever after is worth changing her whole life for in this insightful delightful new novel from besseling author of beach read and people we meet on vacation nora's life is books she reads them all and she is not that type of heroine not the plucky one not the laid-back dream girl and especially not the sweetheart in fact the only people nora is a heroine for are her clients whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent and her beloved little sister libby which is why she agrees to go to sunshine falls for the months of august when libby begs her for her sister's trip away with visions of small town transformation for nora she's convinced needs to become the heroine of her own story but instead of picnics or run-ins with a handsome country doctor nora keeps bumping into charlie a bookish brooding editor back from the city it would be a meet cute if not for the fact that they've met many times and it has never been cute if noah knows she's not the ideal heroine charlie knows he's nobody's hero but as they're thrown together again and again in a series of coincidences what they discover might just unravel their carefully crafted stories from what i have heard from emily henry this is essentially a hallmark movie if the heroine fell in love with the like guy from the city instead of like the small town hero and she has said that this is this is the romance for all of the people who would have stayed with the ceo instead of like the farmer and i just i love that so much i love that she goes to this small town and falls in love with the big city guy instead of like the small town and like doesn't have a change of heart i i'm so excited for this i think that is such a fun twist on like such a classic trope and i i can't wait i'm sure i will love this one i give all of him emily henry's books five stars and i just i cannot wait the next book on this list is another book that was on my five star predictions list and it was one i just could not go without talking about and that is the league of gentlewoman witches which is the sequel to the wisteria society of lady scoundrels by india holton i know that book one was a bit of a hit or miss for people but book one just took me by such surprise it is so quirky and different and weird and out there and you are following pirates in victorian london who fly houses and it is strange and i just had such a good time with it it was so much fun to read i loved the wit and banter and humor in here and it just it worked for me i i can't explain why it just it did and i cannot wait for the sequel i have not actually read the synopsis for this one yet so we're gonna we're gonna experience it together charlotte belongs to a secret league of women skilled in the subtle arts that is to say although it must never be said witchcraft the league of gentlewoman witches strives to improve the world in small ways using magic they tidy correct and manipulate according to their notions of what is proper when a long-lost amulet is discovered it is up to charlotte as the future leader of the league to make sure the powerful talisman does not fall into the wrong hands therefore it is most unfortunate when she crosses paths with a pirate who is no mr darcy with all the world scrambling after the amulet they must join forces to steal it together if only they could keep their pickpocketing hands to themselves like i said this book is very witty and humorous but india holds humor just it works for me and i am so excited for this book the next book on this list is called these fleeting shadows by kate ellis marshall and i actually own a couple of kate ellis marshall books but i have not read any of them yet there is something about this book that is just screaming to me and i can't wait for it this does not have an official synopsis yet but it does have a cover and i do really like the cover i love the vibe that the cover is giving me but there is a pitch that i found a while back that is the reason why i am so excited for this it says in this queer supernatural y.a novel a girl inherits her ancestral home only to discover that a dark presence lurks within it and within herself with the help of the young woman called the witch of hero she must unlock the house of secrets and her own if she wants to survive so this sounds like a witchy story about a girl with powers and a creepy house that she doesn't know exists and i am so excited this is categorized as horror and fantasy so i am i can't wait for the official synopsis this isn't set to come out until august so we have we have a bit of a wait that i it's definitely a book that i will be picking up as soon as i can and then the last book on this list is actually a book that i very recently added to my 2022 tbr and i i am so excited for it this doesn't have a cover yet but it does have a synopsis and it is the dead romantics by ashley poston i'm not sure if it's posted pasta someone someone correct me if i'm saying this wrong but this is a y.a author who is now releasing her first book in the adult romance genre this is called ghost meets the bold type in a sparkling adult debut about a disillusioned millennial ghost writer who quite literally has ghosts of her own as far as i could tell from the synopsis we are following a heroine who is a ghost writer for a very famous like romance author she ends up having to like take some time away and she returns to her childhood home to bury her father and they are the owners of a funeral parlor in the south while she is at the funeral parlor she sees the ghost of this really attractive man and he doesn't know why he's there she doesn't know why she can see him i'm assuming they have a romance and i have no idea how that's gonna work out but i am so so excited for a ghost inspired romance and i just i've heard really good things about this author as well they wrote um the geekerella series as well as among the beasts and briars i haven't read any of those because they're not really like my genre but i've heard really good things about this i'm excited for a ghosty adult romance and this one is set to come out in july so we have a bit of a wait but i i'm really excited for it so that is it for my 15 most anticipated books for 2022. like i said all of these will be linked down below as well as my entire 2022 goodreads shelf and if i do make graphics i will try to include templates over on my instagram of blank ones that you can fill out with your most anticipated lists so if you are not following me over on instagram that will be linked down below as well let me know what books are on your most anticipated list for 2022 let me know if we have any in common and i will catch you all in my next video bye [Music]
