[Music] it's been a hell of a night here at chat sports and we got a breakdown nba draft winners and losers you're probably watching this on friday morning harrison graham and chase senior and hey if you miss our draft coverage yeah i've got half a beard sucks for you that you didn't join us live because we had a hell of a time all right three winners three losers let's start chase with the houston rockets who had the number two overall pick in this year's draft yeah and i thought they hit it out of the park by selecting jalen greene and i think he's going to be an elite scorer down the road at the nba level to start he's going to be somewhat inconsistent he's going to have nights like anthony edwards had last year with the minnesota timberwolves who was selected atop last year's draft he's going to go off for 30 plus points there are going to be nights also where he is somewhat inconsistent and maybe has a clunker going 5-20 but the scoring upside is certainly there my pro comps for him bradley beal and zach levine he's got pogo sticks his legs hyper athletic he can get to his shot anywhere on the floor he's going to be a high volume shooter and that's exactly what the houston rockets need yeah and also they add uh alpro and shangoon which was a good value pick and then usman garuba josh christopher pretty solid draft getting four quality players in the top 24 our first nba draft winner for this year that's our first one couple more to go here how about the orlando magic as our second nba draft winner uh you thought they did pretty well tonight i thought they did really well and they kind of got lucky because at number four the toronto raptors elected to go with scotty barnes out of florida state a very athletic wing over just doing the smart thing and selecting jalen suggs what did the magic do they did do indeed the smart thing by getting their future point guard who on both ends of the floor is going to be able to be a high impact player right from the get-go with gonzaga last year thought he was tremendous both playing-wise but also being a mature leader on both ends of the floor on and off the court for the zags so to get jalen suggs at number five i thought it was just an awesome selection for the magic some might say oh we already have a bunch of guards you don't have jaylen suggs and then what do you do after that you give him an elite three and d wing franz wagner right after that at pick number eight look wagner has to become a more consistent outside shooter so too does jalen suggs that's going to be a part of their development but in terms of fitting alongside one another with guys like cole anthony and markell fultz jonathan isaac wendell carter jr some of the other young pieces on that orlando magic roster i like what the magic are doing and you know mosley is gonna have an opportunity to coach a lot of studs with the magic in year one before we get to our last draft winner on the night who was the biggest nba draft winner this year let's hear it from you guys down in the comments section we've got the rockets we got the magic so far let us know who you guys believe was the biggest nba draft winner this year and then our last one how about the brooklyn nets chase obviously coming into the draft no one's thinking about brooklyn making uh uh some splashing moves but they trade for they trade landrieu shaman out they get an extra draft pick in round one cam thomas and daeron sharp after the landry shamit trade chase uh i was a big fan of everything brooklyn did tonight yeah i mean they get back javon carter from phoenix who basically didn't play with the suns he's not a scrub and he's a really good defensive player and i think from a defensive mentality standpoint the brooklyn nets could use a player like that they're also able to get pick number 29 in that deal for landry shaman who really is just a shooter at this point a very good one somewhat surprised that the nets gave him up because i do think he adds some value but as far as the nets picks look some people might say the brooklyn nets as a winner they didn't pick in the lottery to get cam thomas who i think might be one of if not the best pure bucket getters as late as they did at pick number 27 excellent value this dude is a walking bucket and because of that i think he's going to be able to contribute for a team that could contend for an nba title right away so you get cam thomas you also get dehron sharp who i love as a big man right after that who i also think is going to be able to contribute right from the jump as a rookie a very athletic big active on the glass good shot blocker good passer as a big and the low and high post i thought the nets really with cam thomas as well as daeron sharp awesome awesome value picks that's why they're a winner yeah edward zedgarowski gray some depth pieces there in the second round probably some g-league guys but two guys that could play right away and hey brooklyn's gonna be a contender for the next few years who's gonna win the title next year will it be brooklyn will it be a team like the lakers that traded for russell westbrook tonight predict it right now your way too early prediction for the nba champions this upcoming season get subscribed chat sports we're not going anywhere when it comes to nba off-season coverage because the draft might be over but guess what free agency is just around the corner it gets going on monday august 2nd myself chase the entire chat sports team we're gearing up for a flurry of moves starting on monday night so subscribe this is the time to get in on all of the action when it comes to the nba offseason all right let's keep it rolling now nba draft losers uh after we go through some winners san antonio chase i gotta tell you i don't know what in the world they were doing tonight i like josh primo as a prospect and i thought he was worthy of being a late first round guy in fact i tweeted out the other day at chase underscore senior that he had become one of my favorite prospects who had been climbing the ranks over the last couple of weeks the key part of that i thought primo should have went at the end of the first round the early second i thought it was a massive massive massive massive reach to select him at number 12. i like his athleticism i like that he's a high volume three-point shooter he's the youngest prospect in this class but he's gonna take a long time to develop he's not great at anything and he's not a well-rounded prospect and i think at number 12 you had plenty of prospects at your disposal who i thought could have been better picks while maybe getting primo if you trade it up into the back half of the first round or if you try to get him in that second round i like uh joe wisecamp at 41 that's a solid pick because he shot around 45 percent from distance last year with iowa but josh bremo you're a loser when you take a guy like that at number 12. you're graded on what you do with your premium picks wise camp's a good value pick that doesn't completely bury their draft that helps a little bit but to take a guy that would have gone in the 20s or 30s at 12 in all likelihood it's a bad pick it makes them draft losers on tonight maybe he'll prove us wrong it happens all the time in the nba but on paper uh the spurs have to be an nba draft loser type wtf if the spurs confused you tonight like especially with that pick of josh stream or primo man i don't know wtf am i right all right next nba draft loser golden state warriors bit of a curveball in this one chase we didn't mind the picks of jonathan kaminga necessarily and and also uh moody as well but i think we have to consider them losers chase because the chatter was let's get a veteran piece in golden state with some of these draft assets they didn't do it yeah that's a big reason why we have golden state as a loser myself harrison steph curry klay thompson draymond green they'd kind of let it be known that they wanted to package seven and 14 maybe a james wiseman or an andrew wiggins for a superstar player out there and by not doing that that's why i think the warriors are a loser the pick of kaminga confused me a little bit because he's not ready to play right now on a team that's ready to win right now moses moody he's a teenager at 19 a three and d guy i think he can contribute right away also something weird draymond green was texting bob myers leading up to both selections he said take kamenga take moody bob myers did both i guess draymond green has all of that power weird night for golden state in my opinion very weird i would have uh now maybe the trade wasn't out there but uh they could have certainly used a veteran uh star and they did not get one we'll see what happens in free agency for them our final loser oklahoma city uh look they got plenty of picks in the future they're not ready to win right now anyway but made a couple of weird selections tonight this is a well-run organization sam presti is a smart guy but to come out of the first round with all of these assets and of course they picked up more future first-round picks who knows what the hell they're going to do with them offer 10 of them for a guy like zion williamson who the hell no but to come out of the first round with josh giddy at six i thought it was a reach he's the best passer in this draft for sure i just thought he was a little bit of a reach there that kind of confused me and then you get trey mann at 18 who i also think was a reach both of these guys are good players i mean tray man's jump from his freshman to sophomore season was pretty miraculous especially from the free-throw and three-point line josh giddy as an 18 year old has excellent passing ability at six eight and i think he's special in that regard i just thought that sam presti kind of reached a little bit jeremiah robinson earl at 32 out of villanova uh you know it's pretty solid pick there but i just thought okc could have done much more with all of the draft assets that they've been able to compile so there you have it our final 2021 nba draft video is in the books who was the biggest draft loser this year let us know in the comments chase and i will be uh replying to some of your comments so let us know dissect it subscribe free agency just around the corner we'll have it all covered here on chat sports we are signing off uh on today's video [Music] mr you
