2021 Jayco Jay Flight SLX8 267BHS Walkthrough

hi i'm alex and i'm angela and we're here with gnr camping world winnipeg's largest and most experienced rv service center and winnipeg's only rv care dealership today we're going to be featuring the 2021 jayco jay flight slx 267 bhs this unit will sleep up to 10 people and comes in at just under 6 200 pounds all right now we're going to go over some features and benefits of this unit right on the front we've got a power tongue jack so that's nice nice and easy click of a button up and down it does have a manual override if you lose power and then you have a led light on the front so if you're hooking up at night you can see what you're doing which is great two 30 pound propane tanks on this unit so lots of propane and gnr does fill that for you upon purchase and it comes with a hard cover so it's going to keep it looks really nice and it's going to keep your propane tanks nice and clean gnr will also provide you with a help me here a deep cycle battery cycle battery uh upon purchase as well with a nice cover and then we've got the large rock guard here on the front so that's going to protect your trailer from road debris road debris while you're traveling down the road moving along we've got our huge pass-through storage that's on magnets that's new for this year yeah so that's nice too one-handed you don't have to be using both hands here which is great lasts infinitely longer than the clips absolutely and then you can access this pass-through storage from underneath the master bed as well which we'll show you when we go inside so moving on i will just point out very quickly we've got the two plus three year limited structural warranty so that's two year bumper to bumper through jayco and a three year structural so industry leading warranty on this trailer we also have this beautiful very large power awning so i'll demonstrate that for you so that does extend out eight feet so it gives you lots of shade from the sun and we all know that the wind can change at any time when the wind comes and you really want to protect your awning it's really quick just to uh press have a button and that will retract really quickly it also has a beautiful integrated led strip so if you're pulling up to the campsite late at night you're already lit up you're not dealing with stringing up lights or anything like that while i'm in the doorway i will mention this extra large grab handle especially on the way out i find if you have the small one you can miss it so safety first it's uh super easy to grab if the kids are running in and out of the trailer you don't really have to worry about that or if you have any like knee issues things like that it also folds away very easily for travel then we've got these great stairs step above stairs so they're three three steps com all at comfortable height so you're not leaping into the trailer and they have extra grip on all three of them as well they fold right into the trailer for travel so they're going to be free of road debris and dirt and grime as well which is great both legs are adjustable so if you are parked at a site that's a little bit on level they can be adjusted separately so okay moving on we have goodyear nitrogen-filled tires so these are an american north american-made tire thicker sidewall just a safer overall better tire we've got outlets here right on the side as well so if you're plugging in some extra lights or you want to set up your blender or coffee maker out here you're good to go oh and then we have this is actually a mount for a tv so you can actually bring the tv from inside the trailer and you can mount it on outside here and then you've got your cable hookups there as well and of course the outlet for that okay let's move on to this outside kitchen so super convenient you have of course the sink so you can wash your hands while you're cooking and prepping we all know that's very important get really messy when you're camping get that bacon grease yeah right so going through a whole roll of toilet paper you've got a two burner that's going to be hooked up to your propane tanks from the front so again very convenient and then you've got a fridge so you put snacks in there drinks whatever you want it just makes it a little bit more convenient so you're not running into the trailer all the time to get what you need so we have a ladder on the back already so that's you're already good to go if you need to do your um your semi-annual maintenance i mean of course if you're using the trailer right throughout the entire year they do suggest you check your seals every 90 days also say you back into campsite and you're not sure maybe you hit a tree which sometimes that can happen you can get up there nice and quick and check that out for peace of mind this unit is also pre-wired for a backup camera so that's that little disc that's sticking out there so if that's something you want to have installed it makes it a little bit easier a couple things on the back of this trailer we've got black tank flush that's a built-in sprayer that's going to help you keep the sidewalls of your black tank nice and clean uh just gonna make maintenance on that black tank a lot easier and then we also have an outdoor shower hot and cold outdoor shower so you're coming back from the beach you're all sandy instead of bringing into the trailer you can hose down the kids outside and yourself the dog whatever and then also of course we have our spare tire and cover should we go inside let's take a look so i want to point out right away we've got this easy accessible storage cupboard here so right at the front door which is great you can put your sunscreen cell phone keys anything that you want um in an easy grabable spot while you're outside let's go into the master bedroom here so lots of room in this bedroom it's got the pocket doors here so these are much nicer than curtains they're going to add some noise canceling as well and then we've got dual entry on this on this bedroom which is great you're not waking up your partner if you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night cupboards on either side so this one's got the hanger you can hang clothes on this side and that side's got the shelves and then we have even more storage up top here as well all led lights throughout this trailer so they take very little draw from the battery and they can be turned on and off individually which is great i will mention you usually only see two lights in a bedroom you're getting four in here so jayco definitely does not skimp out on the lighting which is great and you can turn them off if you want them dimmer anyway um i will mention this is the bracket alex was talking about outside that you can unclip this and it will clip onto the exterior of the trailer so just very convenient yeah oh yeah perfect take a look at this under bed storage here so that's what we were talking about earlier you can get to that from of course outside or inside so it's very convenient and it's all it's finished all the way to the back you can see that so they just definitely don't skip out and that nice loud noise big thick piece of plywood not particle board not osb why do you want plywood well plywood is 10 stronger than osb or particle board and if uh if it does get wet it's not going to disintegrate or fall apart like osb or um particle board will so we also have outlets on either side of the bed so if you want to charge your phone at night you got a cpap machine that's ready to go for you as well here we are wired for wired for solar so you can easily have the solar added to this trailer as well i will ask trevor if you can click that little switch beside you there perfect i have to show that who doesn't love a blue mood light yeah so i just think the little extras like that are really fun another thing we'll mention is you have hardwood valances on your windows so it's just a very nice finish it's not just a little like metal rod with a curtain it's sturdy it's not going to be falling off or anything easy to clean and then you have of course the night shades so that will uh just help you sleep in and then i don't know if we mentioned that uh they are tinted safety glass windows and jayco's so if you know if a window does break it's not gonna come off in shards and hurt you it's gonna crumble and and not uh not injure anybody which is great and then they are tinted so in the daytime no one can see in your trailer and then you also have the night shades as well all right let's move into the living room so entertainment system here you've got of course your tv you have storage up above storage below and then a little shoe garage underneath so if you don't have you don't want to be tripping over your sandals and things like that you can stick your shoes under there if the kids will put them there [Laughter] and then we've got am fm bluetooth auxiliary hdmi cd dvd usb ready to go here for all entertainment needs again so far oh trifold sofa with more overhead storage notice they all have the metal hinges here so you're not holding this up while you're searching around it's hands-free very strong and these are mortise and tenon joint cupboards handcrafted by the amish in indiana so you know you're getting a solid real wood cabinetry here your kids can hang off these all day so trifold sofa really easy to set up does not take two of us really cushy thick foam especially for taller adults you have the length here you can hang your feet off the end and you'll notice you can still get by to the bathroom at night so you're not disturbing your guests so we'll move on to the dinette so this will go down into additional sleeping as well thank you alex you're welcome um and you'll notice you have doors underneath for storage so super easy access you can put duffel bags bins are really convenient as well you got you know the kids set up here doing their thing you don't want to disturb them or your company whatever you can just go underneath uh at the cabinet instead of lifting up the cushions right on now this bathroom they've left the sink i don't know if you can see this they left the sink outside which is so good especially for a large family someone's in there showering using the the toilet someone can still brush their teeth and get ready for the day on the outside so then in the bathroom of course you've got the nice tub surround there it actually gives you some shelves you can put your shampoo conditioner whatever you're bringing the beautiful skylight which is great for those tall people gives you a little extra ceiling height as well and then of course you have uh the vent with the fan take a look at that and then the foot flush toilet as well and jayco really does think of everything they've even given you a paper toilet paper holder already installed for you in the door all right let's talk about these bunk beds big massive double over double bunk beds four inch thick bunk mats usually you're only getting three inches this is a whole extra inch of foam so they're very very comfortable i would say these are adult sized in my opinion you're getting 600 pound capacities and they're double sized now normally you see 200 pound 220 pound capacities maybe 300 these are both 600 pound capacities you don't have to worry about your kids bouncing around in these uh bounce around all day and i'll just uh show quickly you've got plywood bases that's of course why you're getting such a high weight rating so you do have two uh usbs in the top bunk you have um two outlets in the bottom bunk and then there's a window in each bunk as well so no and a light of course so nobody's fighting and curtains if you want to just close those at the end of the day you are more than welcome to do that lots of storage here so this is actually you can have it as a big pantry or you can actually remove these if you like and they have a hanging bar there so you could hang up your clothes as well whatever you want i even got one down below here as well yeah that's quite deep so again really strong cabinetry mortise and tenon joints when you open this cupboard you don't hear that rattle that's so important yeah so let's move on to the kitchen we have a beautiful two-door uh two-way refrigerator and freezer six cubic feet so open that right up tons of space um shelves everywhere you can do whatever you want with this adjustable shelves as well so two way this is gonna run off of 110 or shore power like when you're plugged into a campsite or it's going to run off propane so say you lose power at the campsite it's going to switch over to propane so your fridge stays nice and cool and everything's good or say you want to go boondocking or set up for that of course you can run the soft propane makes it a little bit easier of course we have a beautiful microwave we have the range here with the light and a fan and then we have this three burner cooktop so this is really nice because it has the glass top so it gives you way more counter space when you're not cooking inside because you've got that beautiful outside kitchen if you're not going to be doing too much cooking in here this makes this very functional and when you do use it it folds back really nice as a splash guard so then again three burners you have this beautiful blue led mood light and then a little oven right on good storage in this kitchen too we've got storage underneath the sink we've got two full extension drawers here all plywood at full extension they can hold 75 pounds so that really speaks to the um the quality of these drawers they're even plywood backed right here so some some manufacturers you'll see don't have that and metal drawer glides as well which is which is really great so you could even fit a little garbage can under there all your cleaning supplies under the sink uh and then dishes bowls plates whatever you want up top so i love the sink double sink which is really nice because if you don't want to dry your dishes you can just let them sit in one side of the sink which we all do and then you've got this nice goose neck here so if you're cleaning of course bigger pots bigger bigger pans it it's just really easy to get it underneath unless instead of it having it quite low down so it's just a nice convenience feature again we've got an outlet here so for your coffee maker blender whatever you want then we've got a kind of convenient center here with your with your light switches we've got our gas electric water heater switches here and then for your tank levels freshwater black water gray water tank it'll tell you if it's empty one-thirds full two-thirds full or full or empty now of course and then your battery as well so let's talk about the floor for a minute uh this is 5 8 tongue and groove plywood decking so this is a very strong floor not a one-piece osb floor here no so it's very strong a lot thicker a lot more durable which is good because you're going to be taking it down those manitoba roads another thing is the magnum truss roof system so jayco's roof will hold 4 500 pounds which is double the industry standard and you might think why do i need 4 500 pounds of roof uh capacity um well we all know things can happen especially in our crazy weather here in manitoba a tree falls on you you're going to be a lot more protected your family's going to be a lot more protected in this unit also if you're parking outside and we get a huge dump of snow like we know that happens all the time so you don't have to worry about racing out to your to your trailer and getting that snow off the roof another thing we'll mention is we have ducted air conditioning so these are directional or you can close them to get more concentrated in different areas of course it's in the bedroom in the bunks so you're not just getting uh one spot cooling and roasting while you're sleeping so that's a really nice feature as well this unit two i will mention the heat ducts are in the size they're not in the floor so i know a lot of people like that especially with uh with kids and you know you're bringing in a lot of dirt sometimes while you're camping so that doesn't get into the vents uh they're all on the sides you'll see a duct right there so again again i'll mention you've got the two-year
