2020 Adelaide Race #1 - Stadium SUPER Trucks

how good is it to see Boost Mobile super trucks on the streets of Adelaide their Australian birthplace in 2015 there back in 2020 this is race number one of the 2020 series with Robby Gordon strolling out of pole position bill Hynes starts alongside him Luke banner makes his debut with english-born Australian but american-based Sean Richardson and a position for Sara prices back in the film with Matt Mingo a big welcome back to Matty Paul Morris and Paul will square off at row number four Greg Gartner and Toby price out of nine and ten che Davies and Matt Brabham stayin at the back for race number one Brabham and Davies were the fast guys from qualifying they will start from the back of the field Andy Jones and that is going to be super super exciting Matt to watch those guys come through the field now said Paul Morris I can see right up the back of the field there behind Maddie grabbin what's happened there why why is Paul at the rear of this field and he hasn't taken up his grid spot he's scheduled to start at a 7 and they don't come out pretty much in order they'll try and find their spots but he's electing to start behind that grapple I haven't heard nothing from race control and Jason Smith who's talking right now to me my ear as I speak but he will start there with Madi Brabham so not sure what it's about but keep an eye on him coming from the back of the field that's what I love about this category the fast guys are coming from the back there is a competition caution that will happen on lap number 5 so if anybody gets their bad hits well that gets neutralized and one thing we know for sure I don't know why Paul Morris is there but we do know that he will race his way forward and he does regularly regardless of whether it's in stadium super truck tour Z racing cars he's a race up the front row though rare to see the man with the most power positions down any other category that's awesome but not in stadium super trucks but the thrill looking for a victory he scored a podium at the end of season 2019 at Surfers Paradise he picked up his first race win at Lake Elsinore California at the start of 2018 [Music] we Gordon Pines and Luke banner the first three they go into single file so they've played nicely on the they sound great they look great and one thing's for sure the racing is always super exciting they're allowed to bump in touch they get up on three wheels they use all the curbs on the run-up to turn three for the first time Hines has taken the lead with the move at the top of Wakefield Street now he'll be under pressure but at least the next four laps of this race the whole Bank Robby Gordon live banner runs in third position Sean Richardson is it for the guys the back end he will need to keep an eye on the line Ceri and just look at the cars up ahead at Palmeiras there that's Maddie for Evan and Gardner and chips waterfall and pecans are when they land on the road making sure that the driver is getting on the throttle at the right time because the last thing you want is to break it actually in these trucks and it happens really toward the landing Aaron Hines under siege from corn and banner back in third position with Richardson wheel and Sarah price at the moment in the VP racing pill century love that rampant man they land where don't they Gordon locks the brakes of his Toyo tires entry they clear the away saran Gordon to the outside on the grass leaves the door open but pulls it back in nicely but the thrill is going to lead us at the end of one number one if he wins this he'll rim the house down and that wasn't by choice for Gordon I think he got bottlenecked up behind Hines on the brakes and he locked him up Gordon and it was a bassy batch and he had to move to the outside how was he landing on the grass when he a grip out there from the Continental Tire wake give that one away wake up sleepy go Hines he's gonna be eaten up here by Gordon he makes the move on the outside to retake the lead Murray lost it on the previous lap that's just one lap of it right pocket entry light he was able to get all the way around mines don't believe how easy hard to it that happened fairly days back inside with Paula Morris mr. hit his back brother and some more passing happening and turn seven around he make a mistake turkey looks like a nightclub in the back Brad bets off you love a good smoke machine it is Friday night after all down to turn number nine he comes poor wheel and also toby price on the inside of bill hines who's is going to feel the pressure back straighten up and robbing is encouraged in this category you can bark you can rob just gonna be careful you don't drink too much of it because it's a bit of an eye for an eye you bumped somebody they'll come back and they'll bump you oh yes payback's for real in this category they've got a drive for the coal head as well as cause he came in super truck competition they stack up behind the Continental tires entry to the first three been released six-four already win game lands awkwardly in the second ramp and now but it's chatter from the star electrical entry or blue spanner through the center chicane we go again it's particularly tough just timing your launch off the ramp and you're in busy little battlepacks like this and that's why we're seeing trucks coming down landing on their nose that was Mingo a little helping hand saying I'm in a hurry here or this gardener again going around you'll be happy to see the competition caution absolutely if he can survive the dizziness of the last two laps the farmer who's five dumb to John Deere in favor of his super truck this weekend price upon the Heinz look at this battle pack everybody outside the top three is in this side by side across the RAM the KMC wheels red and if you don't want to be the lead truck at this firm gartner needs to spin a couple of times to the left to apply himself he said too many to the right so far do it before that competition caution and he already know where he is by the time he gets back in this belt pack have a look at this map not see down to turn nine Dakotah goes series Nakia this way the Britannia Hotel section of the course and uh put himself to the back of that group of super trucks while Gordon continues to lead remember the competition caution coming up on lap five hey that's still two in a bit legs away it looked like Matt minge there just got on the handbrake a little bit too hard blocked the res was trying to catch the slide and by the time he corrected to the right and then to the left the truck was pointed the wrong way oh man this is cool racing it's still very early days second and third is on between wheel and price we go back to Sarah price looks right back at home aboard that 78 Pete Pete racing fuel sentry this was Gardner I know there was a bit of contact where he did that on his own lit up those tires and disappeared back down Bartels Road this might tell us it looked like Maddy Mingo was having a bit of a slide and Gardner has come off the curb at turned seven they're about to get off the shuttle got back on the throttle off the rear kids very nice 360 though we saw it live from the dudes hot bodies cup on the turbine yeah yeah just an awkward land off the curb they're carrying too much speed and it's got you excited for Friday evening is it but what was funny was the flag way for the yellow competition caution not too far away if you use the boost mobile food trucks it slows the bill down recruit super effectively to scenarios water speed he comes big day just really battling to get to the apex at turn nine to tight corner and in these big trucks soon as you're under steering the car just won't load up at won't get to the corner he's carrying massive amounts of speed the other upside to the competition caution man lets us catch our breath we gonna need a little settle down before we go again so to complete another lap Brabham runs in fifth position but it's Gordon Trophy prize pool with sailor price and Matt Bevin your top five in race one of the stable trucks back to this battle and the top of Wakefield Street half race miss that's Gordon from Toby price all will sitting back in third but waiting for the cup portion yellows to come out which will be down the backstraight towards turn number eight here that'll calm the farmer Mitch reveal the drivers who aren't handling these super trucks have maybe got up set up to come out later in the race [Music] Tom the farm market especially breakdown revolvers Absolution at the back of the field there's the comp caution so we slow the field down and Jason Smith just confirming that to the drivers on the race control system but don't worry for now back in the day it used to be a full lap of competition caution that was taken away and the Detroit run free a couple of years ago purely on the fact that the track is twice as long as I'd laid it took five minutes to do the lap therefore why not run right up to a point where have you got a third of a lap to call them down gives us more track time and is that circuit dependent Matt some places we'll go to this year where it's a shorter lap they'll give them the full lap to enable enough time to calm it down get everybody back together before we get the green light again correct like Tasmania for example probably be a full lap with this one's a bit different we take a look at some slow-motion shots Brabham right on the inside of the curbs and that doesn't matter don't think that's going to alarm race control anywhere they can race they can race one of the benefits of racing your stadium super truck they will go anywhere and they do look at this look at the landing for Gordon and price twin Springs in them look at that really long spring that you can see there where price comes down there's a soft rate and a really hard rate to be able to control this landing great replay of price in the foreground there and look at Ming gay coming down on the front of his Hot Wheels entry massive slide the steering rack in these trucks are one-to-one so you got to be careful trying to correct that slide that the truck doesn't over rotate we'll be back late 500 gone in a two-time champion in the category and now you'll start to get some feelings as the guys and girls have lost out a bit in the first part get to reset and recharge here on lap six Toby price it's really racy here for me Matt show a good speed he came at Robby Gordon throwing his three or the car coming around I need to turn number six [Music] but he gets the job done puts himself up needs a six position remember he was in the back of the field [Music] number six ghost buddy bengay it's been and troublesome race he's had several moments down and turn number nine and the old three point turn Andy Jones will get you out of any kind of trouble is there an issue on the front of that truck because it just does not look like it's turning as well as know anybody else now that's a brake lockup soon as you lock the tire you lose all steering but it's this second turn he tries to make here but there has heaps of lock on it and the trucks it's not going anywhere it's trying to drive forward so I've seen her on the left hand side looking on he drops to the back of the field now as Gordon leads the final positions in early style that we saw from maddy Brabham where it would land on the front quite regularly high-risk though Luke van up pushing bill Hinds along here at the turn nine hairpin with Morris just ahead so that's the second time you've seen yes my practice pick up window shade [Music] so a triple Brandon treatment we go he's first ever run in a boost mobile super truck for you today Thanks down towards turn number nine tiny price starting to run at a time here we want to go [Music] one bid it all to go round the ends the entry just a good battle great respect bank shot Sarah Nellie to the back of Ghana right California we're in the ramp and chasing Brett Gardner in the battle for seventh tonight on the circuit 3 sentry logging out before the final draft and same for price some really weird spot to put a rat can see breaking but having to clear that's not pushing for price has opted to avoid the ramps till she gets that truck under my own I think it helped her if anything straight there up and now Luke ban against the head of the BP tracing fields entry bar slap now for Toby price they climb through the staircase at the Adelaide Street circuit means the right-hander price trying to switch back he won't try and do it there it'll be turned number nine is where you expect to see the charge for Gordon to wake up he's seen this all before check this out high in the sky down bartels ride with a Setting Sun in the West but back almost felt that just riding on board there with Robby Gordon that was a harsh landing but really cool to be able to see Toby price off the ramp and then land as well as Toby got anything can he have a look down the inside here at turn nine has a little Gordon covers got to be careful that you don't lock those reefs we've seen plenty do it still some opportunity left here for price final turns going to be in here for price we've seen races won and lost here on certain occasions almost a court ordered runs and wide OBC invitation for price who's in the box seat Gorton lands again on the opposite side of cool as they climb to the final set of turns we've had nine different winners for 12 races here in Adelaide but again the final turn is going to send this up final turn they exit two more rounds to go and Gordon will become a two-time winner and race one victor of the buspar super trucks and the simple uber blade 500 and did it by less than harbor second he had to work for it though didn't he and a couple of mistakes in the end there looked like he was going to give price and opportunity cool head though as you'd expect from Robby Gordon not only plenty of racing in stadium super trucks but also in NASCAR IndyCar he's been there before he's done lots of it that was awesome he loves having guys like toby price in the field too who think like him they've both done da car they've raced on dirt for so many years and Robby Gordon picks up the first win and that's the usual two fingers salute for the man who picks up the win here today breaks number one of the Boost Mobile super Truck Series from price Brabham Shea Davies in fourth great debut from Paul well Paul Morris Bill Hines who sat on the front row Greg Gartner Luke banner and Sarah price who dropped down to 10th position Sean Richardson and a tough return for Matt mean gay who finishes in 12th in race number one you got two more races Andy you'll be okay I'm already losing my voice in the return of the super trucks to the streets of Adelaide and eight brutal laps ahead of us with Gordon and mines to what we saw Gordon start from the front road the bill eyes would take the lead early in this race with this move the top of Wakefield Street yeah really aggressive from hinds early on he would have loved leading this race having clear air out ahead of him one of the unsung heroes of this category is that he puts a lot into getting it around the world two different circuits along with Robby Gordon so for the opportunity for Hinds to lead early on that's awesome yeah it's cool this was gone to unload himself down there at turn number seven he would drop at the back of the field hey he wasn't alone in that department there several it did back that's what happened to Hines he slowed through the middle of turn number three which was enough to open it up for Gordon to retake the lead at the top of Wakefield straight right view for the panic club motor racing Matt mingi almost joined the starter at least tough finish line up their list with the first of several weird situations for the Castrol Edge hot wheels number two and there was a good replay in the highlights that showed that me gauges going really deep to turn nine was carrying but are too much speed couldn't get to the apex Paul Morris was on a charge he started at the back we don't really know why but Manning moved forward and was Sarah bracelet but stop right the middle of the turn there by a former teammate but it was Robby Gordon that collected the first win and twelve valuable points towards his season 2020 campaign race winner on the streets of Adelaide [Music]
