2019 Wheat Harvest 1,200 Bushels at a Time

hi big tractor power fans in this video we're gonna spend time out on a Western Kentucky winter wheat field during the 2019 harvest with a John Deere 9 for 20 our four-wheel drive tractor in Kinsey 1105 grain cart will see these big machines work alongside class 9 John Deere s 790 combines harvesting 45 feet of wheat at a time with McDon FD 145 Draper heads viewers will have the unique opportunity to watch from a bird's-eye view from a drone of this 420 horsepower tractor and 1,200 bushel grain cart as they chase down these big combines with 400 bushel grain bins and unload through 28 and a half foot unloading augers at 3.8 bushels per second into the cart once the tractor has caught up with three combines and is completely filled up the grain cart it will run at eight and a half miles per hour across the field to waiting trucks to unload into them as they get ready to head back to the farm and store the winter wheat away so let's head out to the field so you can see and hear all the harvesting action from above [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] as the tractor and grain cart or in Western Kentucky as they call them buggy crews across the field let's talk a little bit about this machinery specifications this is a 2019 John Deere 9 for 20 our four wheel drive tractor it's equipped with those new debris management side shields in the engine compartment it's powered by a thirteen point five liter 6-cylinder eight hundred and twenty six cubic inch john deere engine rated at 420 horsepower and 335 pto horsepower the tractor weighs in at forty one thousand four hundred and seventy pounds from the factory and his field weighted up to forty eight thousand seven hundred pounds which is helpful when you're pulling a big grain cart like this Kinsey 11:05 this big Kinsey 1105 grain cart is equipped with camp so tracks to reduce compaction and proof flotation as the cart moves across the field it's 31 feet and 7 inches long it requires a 1,000 rpm PTO the cart weighs in at 31,000 pounds empty and the farm will heap on 54,000 pounds of wheat before it's time to unload it the cart will hold 1,200 bushels it's a dual auger design with a horizontal auger inside at 22 inches and the vertical auger that unloads is 24 inches wide and is capable of loading 750 bushels of grain per minute for the 2019 winter wheat harvest this farm is operating four of these John Deere nine 420 are four-wheel drive tractors in Kinsey 1105 grain carts the hauling teams are keeping up with seven class nine John Deere s 790 combines equipped with those forty-five foot wide McDon Draper heads as the carts roll along they keep the combines rolling non-stop throughout the day and the goal is to see each of the seven combines harvest 150 acres of wheat during the work day when the carts are heading back to the trucks there are 15 Mac semi trucks keeping up with the for carts hauling the wheat away and we'll see this tractor and grain cart pullin now and onload 750 bushels of wheat per minute [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] you
