Indiana fans hoping their Hoosiers can start born over just the fifth time in school history and their basic a Michigan State team that is hungry by week and before that a loss out in the desert to Arizona State and here come the homestanding India [Applause] Memorial Stadium the 24th Spartan so the Hoosiers big tin opener for both teams and it's the battle for the [Music] and we welcome you upstairs everybody Brandon gone with Glenn Maison Elise minik er will join us shortly coach a lot of excitement in Bloomington for these undefeated Hoosiers meanwhile Michigan State off that loss in the by they got to do a little soul-searching you know Brandon I've been coming to Bloomington for many years and I can't remember when I've seen that Hoosiers more excited about their football T for good reason undefeated they're playing awfully well Michigan State not so much you know he lost a game out in the desert to Arizona State Marc tonio will tell you first gotta tell you they can play a lot better well and what area they can definitely do better is the run game against Arizona State 63 yards on 27 carries yeah I'm not really sure exactly what's wrong with the run game entirely but you know LJ Scott their star running back he didn't play the last game is questionable enough for tonight but their number one problem is their offensive line they had to juggle some guys around because the injuries but somehow someway they got a block better you mentioned it though LJ Scott he's the question mark so will it be he or Hayward we will find out in just a moment but you flip it over to Indiana's women game they've been exceptional over 200 yards in all three victories yeah you know they lose their top two running backs one to injury ones a suspension and then you've got this true freshman Stevie Scott out of Syracuse New York they recruited him they thought he might be a linebacker or Matea he's a running back he's a running back at a very good wood and his head coach Tom Allen is with our lease menaker game has been very effective to start this season but now you face the best rush defense in the country what you need to do to have success on the ground well it starts up front our officers Lions got their best game of the season they're tremendously talented on defense and therefore they do a great job in Fretwell Coast so we're gonna have to have great technique you guys want to as for your defense and defending Brian the worki what challenges do you see they're big arms very good he throws a deep ball well underneath well we're good quarterback they can run it they can throw it so they're tough challenge for sure coach thanks so much for the time thank you the words of Tom L and his quarterback Peyton Ramsey and then Brian the work E for Michigan State look at those completion percentages a couple of the best in the country yeah really impressive book there's big difference in those two offenses for Indiana it's really a horizontal offense a lot of play passes behind the line of scrimmage ten years down field for Michigan State now they're vertical they want to go play-action pass and look for the home run and they have the ability to go for the home run there's no doubt about that and for the first time all day we have seen a little bit of sunshine peeking through yesterday temperatures were in the upper 80s a lot of humidity feels very good out there right now 62 degrees temps will be dropping through the 50s as we go on we did have a little bit of rain earlier today but not gone wood that we are done with that for the evening the Indiana Hoosiers have won the toss but they deferred Michigan State will receive the football to get us started [Applause] [Music] Darrel's Stewart back deep to return the kick Jared smaller and you mention the excitement you can feel it Indiana hoping to go for know for just the fifth time in school history well it's not just because they're undefeated they look at their team and they're playing well offense lead defense Lee and kicky game they're hitting on all cylinders Ball State team last week that took Notre Dame to the wire up in South Bend [Applause] well you know the one thing about when you're in the the team for the Minuteman right up the road it can be very dangerous as we said Michigan State off the buy and prior to that the close loss out to the desert both teams here we go Stewart will be able to return it [Applause] James Stewart [Applause] by smaller the kicker a powerful start for Michigan State the redshirt junior from Houston Texas Daryl Stewart yeah you watch it here there's a big hole look at it right there then credit in the animate flows down pretty good but you know closing down you got to make the tackle it's tackle football that's the way to start the game if if you know you've been coming off the loss and you don't think it played very well you want to get off to a good start he ran right over JaJuan Burgess as we see Brian lorikeet talked about his completion percentage a moment ago is three touchdowns of the two interceptions so far and you see Matt Allen starting at center which has been a in the backfield they throw up to Kody White who had the huge game against Arizona State and it's a quick first down so here's that offensive line you mentioned Matt Allen starting at center there's also a couple of changes on the left side of the line yeah you get Tyler Higbee he goes to left tackle Luke Campbell was left tackle he goes to guard Matt Allen gets another shot at Center at least the right side is intact the other right side is the same with Jarvis and Reed and again it is paired LJ Scott in the backfield Cody's first series he has to play fake / Daryl Stewart maybe a little rust of the work he has to work through off the bye week play you see the Blitz coming Connor Heyward does a nice job picking the line back there up and there's no pressure and he got a wide open receiver maybe a little rusty there huh I don't know I mean a prick they did practice last week they didn't have a game but that's a we talked about the the percentage of completion for both quarterbacks and normally the work he's going to put that right on the money well last year he was 59 percent so that 69 percent that he has shown so far is the improvement that they were hoping for and then some secular training working out of the reach should Daryl Stewart so two times he has targeted him both times he's missed [Applause] grand engine [Applause] pressure but the from the with the Ottoman salon has done around the job picking it up [Music] yards to go on Thursday out here for Michigan State's opening drive you get to this situation your chance of picking it up go for a fire screen high percentage and it baskets incomplete intended for Annalise Nelson a couple of penalties do the opening drive for the sparkles these in a couple inaccurate prose by Brian the working a michigan state will have a new putter Jake Hart Barger injured so they are turning to Tyler hunt two weeks ago in an emergency situation it was the backup quarterback rocky Lombardi that punted but Tyler hunt will get the first crack at it here in Bloomington and the dangers chase Shawn Harris and through the back of the end zone and that's only a net of 26 yards on the putt after the touch back so Brian Lurky unsuccessful on his first drive and now we get a look at Paton Ramsey getting ready to bring out the Indiana Hoosiers offense yeah big positive for the Hoosier offense has been their ability to run the football and now they're going to just see how well they can run it because they're going against a team that plays the run no better than Michigan State 34 yards again so it is a strength for Indiana and the strength of the defense for Michigan State something's gotta give the talented freshman it's been getting a lot of those yards in carries for the Hoosiers and he slips through four five running the ball has been the key look at what they've done over 200 every game so far this year we did that twice all of last season the air good tackle by Andrew down on tie fry Fogle you know talking to Mike deboard the offensive coordinator send the offseason they evaluated and they tried to figure out what baton Ramsey could do well and they got rid of everything else they really trimmed the offense down and that's one of the reasons why they think he's being so official he's been efficient the running game we noted very good he needs to go to that offensive line down the field Reese Taylor mentioned Scott being a talented freshman retailers that do it all freshman in the pass a little long from Ramsey yeah he overthrown because he's wide open me they must have heard what I said in the open where Michigan State likes to go vertical and Indiana doesn't they come right on me had a chance for a big play maybe a touchdown Rams he's got to feel like that's one that he missed maurice taylor catches had in stride with his speed he's probably gone [Music] fair catch by Cody white sliding to his knees para drives nothing so far for either side nightfall of Bloomington Sparty hoping to wreck the party the undefeated Hoosiers so both teams have had a drive these are successful and both quarterbacks really had an opportunity for a big play and they're hoping driving they overshot their targets so we'll see who can settle in as Bryant lower key takes back over under center to Hayward three yards as we take a look at our auto owners insurance impact players that Potter Hayward is one of those impact players yeah the guy we watched by Turkana LJ's not his spilt banged-up so Hayward's gonna have to carry the load for indiana on deep and brief on jones the linebacker he'll be key in trying to stop that run we mentioned l chase got a game-time decision we are informed that he will not play in this game even though he went for warm-ups it was dressed [Applause] of ten and four Marcelino ball his first sack of the season whoo yay comes on the backside obviously the Marquis [Applause] it's early work he was down that he started to chase after the clearly the knee hit the ground Michigan State the two penalties now at 10 yards on the sack the senator facing 17 now the question can right get to the marker and it looks like he's going to be a yard short so this is for that one an early decision do you think they go or putt well I'm a gambler I go for I send the message I'd go for like Mark Dantonio is keeping the offense out there [Applause] I always used to like to go with the quarterback state but I can tell you [Applause] you gotta stay away from that would this be an early momentum swing option play the pitch to hang he did one yard he got to before Marcelino ball could knock him to the term you know Brandon that's a good call right there and we've talked in our meetings about I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Michigan State run more option couple reasons has really been effective in working from the shotgun really execute that play well when they were struggling against Utah State you and I had that game they turned to that play late and had success without that play I think they lose the game Tom Allen on the other side told us say we're ready to defend that option but he couldn't quite get the stop there [Applause] just go around really a slow inequality fat they take the jet suite where they gave them so they're running back and he went to the right and coming back to the left office lines got to hold those blocks a long time on that play three rushes for six yards lorikeet a little bit of a rough start [Applause] beautiful pass into the arms of Tony white [Applause] he's off to a hot start here that one 432 yeah you go from not being very accurate to picture-perfect I guess he's got the dust off he laid it right in there good catch great job by Cody way covering the ball up all three have gone to that man Cody white 68 yards for the sophomore [Applause] expected a lot out of him coming off that strong into the freshman campaign and he has certainly provided [Applause] the intended target was Daryl steward over the bill voting rights wide open again in the end zone you made a move on that defender that's something you'll see upstairs and the office recording Stephanie went the direction a Stewart while behind in second ten toady white sitting this play out inside the five and his jaylen either the freshman from California with his first career touchdown it goes for 16 yards of the Spartans strike first and Bloomington feel good about that red zone has been a problem for them and get it in the end zone be struggling nothing looks like their pass happy well now Mark Dantonio really likes that decision to throw here could man near midfield [Applause] go for it they get it he plays later jaylen dealer welcome to paydirt young man for the first time at his college career so Jalen Naylor 16 yard touchdown reception it's Michigan State on top in the first quarter and for Michigan State nice if you're Mark Dantonio to see a red zone touchdown because that's that's an issue for them so far this season yes sure isn't he would say the difference in those first couple redstone turnover at Arizona State now we take a look at the auto owners insurance impact players on this side of the football though we already talked about Stevie Scott the freshman what a pleasant surprise as far as a running back for them and for Michigan State on defense who else Joel Bochy undisputed leader of the Spartan defense MVP a year ago 2 7 2017 and he was the MVP week one late in the game with the past deflection in the interception of one fell swoop foul swoop that sealed the victory over Utah State [Applause] make the Stevie stop and brought down a shy of the 40 that's exactly what I'm talking about the horizontal passing attack but they try to do is get the ball on the perimeter as much as they possibly can behind the line of scrimmage at the line of scrimmage 10 yards downfield and stretched the defense [Music] straight rejections the left so instead of a sack it's a nine-yard gain of the first down because he's under around his legs he stays up and he still puts the ball right on the money poise composure he's got it they go to the ground game and Stevie Scott [Applause] but down the VIU logo at the 49 after a gain of two [Applause] I always do that I can do there's a flag down as the delis thought of Donovan Hale the cupboards from the corner Josh Butler holding defense number 19 it'sjust butler press Cambridge area your hands playing out there that's no places attendants playing bump and run coverage well there was nothing subtle about that Josh Butler who's starting for Josiah Scott who still doubt with that leg injury from camp finds himself on the sidelines for this next play [Music] [Music] many step settings [Applause] we could run this answers this question - here's another threat it's a big game they're gonna run the quarterback [Applause] just came in the game for Josh Buettner Nerys into the end zone with its first ever pick since 67 yards the other way off the deflection watch it right here Ramsey's under pressure he throws a little high it's a volleyball interception Shakur Brown is right there on the spot and he could have ran to Muncie with that one and if Josh Butler never makes that penalty Shakur Brown probably not in the game right there redshirt freshman from Stockbridge Georgia and all of a sudden it's a to scores the p80 is good [Applause] Michigan State with two touchdowns in just 2 minutes and 36 seconds look at Kenny Willick is getting in there disrupting Ramsey and that Shakur Brown to the house [Music] Brown his first-ever interception and of course his first ever picked six he's been rotating in at quarterback but he has been the starter with Josiah Scott in Turpan Brown getting the action and the big six to put [Music] so now Payton Ramsay had his team on the March you come back out coach all of a sudden you got to deal with a to score deficit it's Michigan State getting into the backfield and guess who Kitty Wemmick Asst Kenny Wallace the guy that came to Michigan State as a walk-on but he's one of those guys like well as a motor player I mean you watch that guy practice and play that motor never starts going Whitaker says no sir classified on 2nd 15 a short pass out to Donovan Hale the redshirt junior held without a catch against Ball State there's his first one tonight the other Balin right now they're not play impressing probably a big reason to that cork Dantonio is tired of those holding calls [Applause] 13-yard gain as the clock rolls toward the end of the first quarter scat is dropped right around the line of scrimmage [Applause] Raekwon Williams and Mike Potter shoot came in to swallow him up do you think they punt this football right here that is the end of the first quarter well we're going to find out when we get back the loss of one they will be facing a fourth and three Michigan State at the start of the second quarter the good news for the Spartans they've got the 14-zip lead 24th ranked Michigan State big tin opener for both teams but it's a Spartans with a 14-nothing advantage for 15 minutes so the running game hasn't been working but if a pick six and everything else has worked okay yeah the turnover is the big difference in this game right now yeah that one interception that Shakur Brown took to the house and on fourth down Indiana will punt instead of trying to go for it they would have needed three yards [Applause] instead they try to back Michigan State up as the fair catch is taken right around the 10 by Cody white see if they do it it's ladarius Jefferson [Applause] but the Indiana fans are cheering because they know that this is not going to stand don't you said it watch for the play-action and the big throw downfield but Raheem Lane is blaming call for the penalty mark Lozinski making sure he has everything correct here we go [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Tom Allen fired up let's get another look yeah will they golf to the home run it looks like they just got tangled up there I see why he's upset about it they just get their feet tangled up I don't see passive interference there I think they got a legitimate complaint the real stadium saw that replay in the boos are coming down right now Felton Davis and Raheem Lane [Applause] feet tangled but it's two Michigan State's favor [Applause] and that is the true freshman from here is carefully just touch it it's tipping divisions Jonathan Rockland [Applause] just like that so maybe a little karma this is an awful good fight you can see the safeties are coming down right away when they get the hand on punched the ball out and you know a bigger thing right here I believe is showing the maturity of this Indiana defense they get stopped on fourth and one they get a personal foul then they think that they've got an interception it gets overturned but they don't hang their heads they continue to play and come up with a play and what I was saying was that that is the true freshman that was getting to carry their ladarius Jefferson popped out and now the Hoosiers take back home catch of the night [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the action picking up a Tom Allen said the last two weeks we had only had one takeaway on defense we need more of those we got a big one here in the second quarter [Applause] and yet again has been the go-to guy in the underneath basa game that time for nine yards we talked about the high percentage of completions couple things you need accurate fancy wide receivers that block just like this all right there [Applause] back on their heels on defense horizontal passing get it on the perimeter six catches for 46 Michigan State stands up Mike Potter shoot the junior clobbering Stevie Scottie - shook who says he's in the best shape ever spent the offseason revamping his diet conditioning look good on that play [Applause] said he cut out taki spicy tortilla chip chip sometimes he would eat two bags at [Applause] an antidepressant going to be at the 10-yard line without the services of looped Indian tonight who led the team coming into the game with 13 receptions and now failure goes to the sideline [Applause] good play by Ramsey to make something out of nothing I guess you would call it an option play little bit different the two-handed hitch he's just getting ready for the basketball season a two-handed chest pass second a goal [Applause] activate the pass game [Music] because walk here [Applause] [Music] [Applause] when you can see the Blitz company he puts the touch pass right over there - Stevie Scott perfect all versus the right defense Justin Layne came up to try to keep him out of the end zone but the bruising back at 236 pounds would have none of it and Lady Justice makes it a seven-point game [Applause] getting on track Michigan State turned it over on a fumble Indiana on the other side they buy the endzone the reigning Big ten Freshman of the week Stevie Scott he did it on the ground against Ball State 118 yards two touchdowns this time through the air yeah we talked about there was a Blitzen you saw number 34 for the Spartans Simmons the outside linebacker stop I'm not sure maybe he was supposed to peel off with the flare back rather than a gimme some of the coaches wanted Scott to be a linebacker at Indiana well he looked like a linebacker on that play look at him right there strong kid 6 to 236 and built like a house they got a guy like that but he has gone second of the big 10 only behind company [Applause] the working I'm pleading it to Felton Davis so a good start to the drive in Michigan State in a hurry here 16 yards that time yeah he's a big target they did a good job of picking up the Blitz and you saw again that pass is just a little too high now he's a tall receiver but [Music] 47 of 12 his 13th pass tonight is incomplete that's the Matt Sokol incomplete and Michigan State still has not completed a single pass this year to a tight in yangon back to the tight in there as late as he did he looked left came back right that's a dangerous throw it's coming off a year in 2017 when the Titan had the lowest production in the Mark Dantonio era it's so cold the other tied in that Datsun zero reception so far this season [Applause] standard by Darrell Stewart and he works his way for the first down to the 47 still have three timeouts at 45 seconds left [Applause] what a catch Filton Davis and that puts Michigan State in field goal position yeah one in quechua we talked about a number of times you can see that ball wobble a little bit ball insurance good protection no problems it's a poor throw and a great catch he made lower key look better like you said then that throws actually is and then Andre Brown went down at the end of this play for Indiana we talked about the back shoulder throw all the time that's the wrong way though you want the back shoulder throw outside great catch Felton Davis with that catch he now has 50 yards in this quarter and all three of his catches this border still with 31 seconds left Michigan State knocking on the door for six points timeout Michigan State this is their first to the half this is a 30-second timeout so they went right back to number 18 for 19 yards yeah there's that back shoulder throw it's an awful tough you know you you put yourself in the position of a corner you're playing bump and run you got a big skilled athlete and he starts on the fade and you're gonna turn and go with her all of a sudden he stops dead back shoulder throw it's tough see who he goes to here he's four or five throwing the football this dry I know he was 31 seconds and watch the action sooner later white in motion [Applause] it's too high that's the tight in that Dodson so he's targeted boat tide is and he's home for two yeah that's a poor throw against typically bridling lucky would stick that in there wide open hi and behind him that's not even close coming into the year his deep ball accuracy was a question but throws like that at least through the first two games he had been making great the offensive player Dave there should be what nothing should be a touchdown 27 seconds fake the handoff twice and throw it to the faculty hands on that time is cut smack Dobson tithing catch for Michigan State this season goes for six points [Applause] [Music] I think the previous throw to Dodson was the easier possibility but they got the tough one for 11 yards no doubt I mean there's a lot of faking here look at that a lot of misdirection he looked back left and he came back to the tight end who was really well covered had it thrown behind him and they felt it went up made the catch and that Dotson was so talked about during camp as being a breakout player we hadn't seen him catch a single ball until right there big change there in the last couple of minutes in the end of punts Michigan State marches down 74 yards in 64 seconds to put it in the end zone and the first time was on passing 297 passing yards just 21 rushing yards stay tuned halftime report coming up with Dave Stanley and Chuck vishka state.the to score advantage of Bloomington big drive by Michigan State at the end of the half and that puts about 21 to 7 over the Indiana Hoosiers and back upstairs Brandon Gordon Glen Mason with you was an interesting first half though numbers wise with 297 yards passing between the two teams just 20 yards rushing yeah you know we talked in the open all the problems at Michigan State has had in the running game they still have those problems yeah the running game has been going but late in the half the passing game was going for Michigan State and as we get a look at the halftime stats so each team 7 points off turnovers and how about Michigan State - 12 rushing yards yeah and the thing about is there's some sacks involved ever you take the sacks out it would be a positive 17 yards they got problems these minoccurs down on the sideline at least what did you learn from the coaches as you can imagine Brandon the message from of similar let me start with head coach Mark Dantonio he liked that two-minute drive as he after he says step they're throwing a ball well but yes they need to get that run game going when I asked him how do you do that he looked at me and said we have to block up front they message from Tom Allen he said bottom line we need to run the ball better he said Michigan State has been the cool upfront and that is affecting their whole office that lack of production in the run game II says they need to spread out their offense and open up the running lanes and that then will open well yeah over 200 yards in the first three games and we knew that they were in for a stiffer test running the football against Michigan State only 32 yards in the first half so Indiana after giving up the score at the end of the second quarter we'll get it to begin the third [Music] [Applause] Ramzi here with a pocket collapsing he is taken down to the ground inside the swanee in an awkward angle that he was taken down Raekwon williams was in there on the stop luckily though ramsey pops up appears to be okay yeah it's a classic example the best pass defense is a pass rush I can't complete anything on his back that's the first sack that that Indian offensive line is allowed in thirteen quarters they didn't give up any sacks weeks two and three escaping he's just gonna tuck it and get out of bounds he's escorted out by Kenny Willa cos you got a love 48 touch it I mean he's everywhere I mean he is and he's you know that guy right there is six four two hundred and sixty pounds and better be careful right there though awful close especially with a quarterback if you are over and onto the sideline they'll get you for a late hit but not that time so that was a loss of one and Indiana needs 16 yards here they're not going to get 16 yards once again the pocket disrupted by Raekwon Williams the redshirt junior D tackle disrupted but what's this 64 300-pound guy they're just bull rushing right in they're getting right in the quarterbacks face he's got no place to step forward and throw the football the inside oh shoot get started 18 consecutive next to each other great rate Quan Williams the guy that Mark Dantonio says don't be surprised in one day he doesn't end up as mayor of Chicago yeah former Chicago Southside kid [Applause] to the 48 and we got a flag 21 to 7 as Michigan State takes over with 936 left in the third and they go on the ground that time it's ladarius Jefferson not Connor Heyward as we check back downstairs with police menaker Brandon I've seen two clear-cut leaders for Indiana on the sidelines Rock Philly are on offense and Marcelino ball on defense I kid you not before he recovered that fumble he was walking towards the sideline doing the floss that dance move his energy has just been great on the sideline he's really been trying to lead this team through and with his energy everyone came over and greeted him after he recovered that fumble you can tell they just really look up to him right now and stay tuned because at least mimicker will do the floss in just a moment from downstairs maybe toss it out to ladarius Jefferson and he gets across the 40 to the 41 you know nothing seems to be clean consistently in the one gaming you know the flavor furnace Jefferson got outside there was one guy good running backs cannot be tackled by one day the football better they're trying to do better on 3rd down conversions a man converted one tonight Oh a six [Music] hurts itself a family we have seen three three notes so far between the two teams English when we see a third they do the option play will work he kicks and gets the first down they're making coach basins seem like the genius city is yeah real genius or you said watch out for the option they finally run it and Luke he made a good decision yeah he did because you could see they played it to the outside so they couldn't get the pitch so he kept it going side but eight yards that's a big running that's the longest yeah longest of the night for Michigan State prior to that their longest run had been six yards it's gonna work inside the 35 to the 45 Marcelino ball was coming in on the tackle let's see if he live with his head he ducked his head he didn't make hit he didn't make head hey contact though but it if you lead with a head it looks like he did rather than the shoulder yeah targeting [Applause] the difference between the pro game in the college game all the pro quarterbacks line they all slide some college guys do some guys don't get on the widget up here defendant dump it back for Conor first so we had seen him in the run game now Hayward with a reception yeah little little screenplay right here and know pretty good he you suck them in and you drop the ball on the outside and now ain't we're going to try to put some big-time booze on here first reception for Hayward it goes for 16 yards and now they flip it to Daryl Stewart the second rush of the season first tonight and maybe got two yards there got two yards you hear coaches talk about this all the time he ran the long distance but it was all east and west you know it's fine if you run that far if you can finally turn the corner he ain't going north and south but Stewart of course one of the three big returning targets for Brian this table glass [Applause] roasted and completes it to lure key now I'm sure that was intended to be a touchdown but it was Brian Lower Keys first catch man is a lot of action but not much game five yard pass from Cody white a little bit of a duck but he snuck it in there with some pace [Applause] red hot the first half well they're two for two touchdowns in the red zone here that we kicked the field goal those two touchdowns in the redzone the two previous drives they got into the red zone and [Music] - threat to Grandin salads first time we've seen sowards tonight in Indiana's defense was having none of that leading the way was Damion Willis the linebacker Indiana's done a real nice job on those type of plays keeping them lateral they've kept their shoulders squared you can see right here scoot right down the line and forcing them back to make a cut with no place to go good two-handed tackle by the redshirt senior Damian Willis actually graduated did Willis and then came back he said he wanted to leave his imprint on this program [Applause] and this is going to be a faker : turn of events and boy does it pay off he hasn't lined up in an unbalanced field goals situation which you do off the hash they went to the short side I think he could have kept it decided to pitch it everything is there element of surprise well off in the end zone and there's my oxen play yeah you didn't see it coming with a kicker Matt Coghlan though I saw it coming I didn't didn't lure you to it [Applause] Coghlan with as you might expect the first touchdown of his career for the redshirt sophomore and he just sneaks in the extra point [Applause] but first the replay chocolate on the option plus the football team doesn't matter he had crossed over and all of a sudden it's a three score lead at 21 unexpected I think they thought if you're Bart Dantonio hey even if we would not get this then Indiana will have to go 94 yards the other way but instead the fake works there into the end zone in Indiana's behind the eight ball [Music] as cold Han and kicks it away usually don't see this much as a shun Harrison receiver it's usually all about the punt return but when you got a guy that explosive they're gonna try to utilize them [Applause] the pocket in complete wide of Donovan Hale toward the Michigan State sideline the numbers for rims he's still pretty efficient 16 to 20 to 120 yards but just one for for this quarter yeah if you're but if you're you know this good state to this point as many passed he's going to get behind 21s passing that's just can't give up the big one and they have it underneath once again back to Jay Sean Harris his fourth catch of the night and it's for five yards and Thompson to the linebacker he trailed that nice and a play is physical [Applause] how about that 30 penalty yards no offensive yards this half Mike deboard talked about the exotic third down package that Michigan State has a lot of different looks has given his offense a bunch of headaches tonight Ramzi behind you're over the middle yeah the only rush three and plate coverage there and it was a Eric pass crossing route way behind him not often that Ramsey is that off target well he's been under some pressure there's no pressure there but you know when pressure starts coming if you do a quarterback and you're worried about it sometimes you throw it it's a little bit early you rush it and you see what happens Michigan State try to seize control of this game upended flags comes in coach Dantonio has not happening well that's the one thing that hasn't gone their way the penalty problem has continued for Michigan State we're gonna line up this time of the i-formation Colin Lukas in their pullback and they give to Heyward they're trying to get running in between the tackles going any way they can [Applause] and a flag comes in [Music] Juwan Burgess after the play was over unsportsmanlike conduct offense number 11 the penalize half the distance to the goal the dial counts second down there was any word and Burgess joing it goes against him is number 11s first unsportsmanlike of the game well yeah that's a good and he slapped the guy in the face and you got to keep your composure officials are going to keep control of the game Juwan Burgess didn't like that shove to the face mask too much it comes in the category all coaches every coach these for his team show it to us say that's a dump you'd better than that you're smarter than that to prevent us from winning in a close game so Heyward in his sideline Ladera is Jefferson the freshman of the backfield white in motion [Applause] the mission [Music] teams have to avoid losing before they can win Michigan State is really making it tough of themselves penalties interception blind throw [Applause] good concentration by Khalil Bryant first interception of the juniors career the here comes the sudden change deepest we'll work he's shaking his head and Indiana inside the ten to start first and goal see underneath left side of the flat first catch of the night for Austin Doris a good play by Justin Lane he's right there right on the spot you know it should be easier to defend the horizontal passing down here because compete Hankey only got fifteen yards to the back of the endzone might be to fight a play of the third quarter inside the five [Music] and they're gonna let this wind down we're gonna have 15 minutes left on the other side [Applause] in a lot of trouble the interception though gives them new life Marc Dantonio hoping the Spartans can hold on for 15 more minutes [Music] Brian lorikeet frustrated on the Michigan State sideline after throwing the pick to Khalil Brian now Michigan State's defense trying to stand tall if you think this is four down territory for Indiana absolutely field goal really is not enough time to kick the field goal still be down three scores so minute from the throat of the football I mean it's been tough running so give me the best two passes [Applause] you can free [Applause] there's a flag of Islam [Applause] [Music] pass interference authentically number six blocking downfield 15-yard penalty repeat third down we've seen this called a couple times this year yeah but he doesn't but you'll see Donovan Hale comes the inside he definitely picks the defender they can't do that you know you'll see some teams do they come inside and turn around like they may get the ball but it's definitely blocking downfield and good call by the official it spoils an impressive play at the end there by watt failure so now Indiana is backed up to the 18 yard line lazy his own complaint once again going for failure yeah he had a lot of time to throw the ball and he stepped up I thought he might have taken off and run with him and Josh Butler who had a costly penalty earlier in the game with clean defense there from Michigan State huh wife could have came down with it but it was one of those 5050 balls that neither guy won they can play I guess you'd say the defensive guy won yeah we talked about this being four down territory but not here from the 18 yard line 35 yarder for Logan justice on the way in good but still a three score game yes if you're Mark Dantonio right away you start saying will they put the hands team out there are they gonna go with an onside kick we're gonna find out shortly all ten points off of turnovers for Indiana as we get a peek at our game summary you look at the pass yards for the Hoosier but 6.9 yards per completion Indiana spreads about on both sides here appearing to want to kick it deep [Music] let's see what smaller does he boots it long and Jalen Naylor will go down to a need here we going back with the fullback and they try reverse together he had the touchdown grab earlier not much there on the outside all that perimeter stuff has been well defended tonight by the Indiana Hoosiers but to keep the clock running if you're Mark Dantonio dude you gotta run the football don't you well that's you like to do but you like to run and get some first downs in here you can't run it and come up with a second 9 and run it again and come up with a second it 7 and run it again and put the ball away because you're playing against the team that a passing team that can get hot Weston bridges and Darius Jefferson both in the backfield first time tonight that we've seen bridges the fake to it well maybe that's how you get the run game going turn it over to number 14 13 yards and that's Michigan State's longest run of the night look at that I mean you look at him go through there right tackle would have went up for that safety he might have gotten the whole way he kept going back side [Music] a little bit of room that time for Connor Heyward he'll get three yards tonight Dave Stanley and Chuck to get you caught up on everything that happened around the conference today it's the final drive presented by auto owners insurance and it comes your weight 11:30 p.m. Eastern here on BTN stay tuned for that when we are finished what a great night for football here huh they've done wonders with this stadium over the years it's really Memorial Stadium very impressive facility and after rain earlier today temperatures very comfortable right around 60 degrees cold front came through is a good thing yesterday was muggy as high they'll toss it out to Hayward those perimeter runs but blowing that up was Jonathan Crawford coming up to make the stop yeah Jonathan Crawford to get everybody blocked he can't blow the safe he's coming downhill right away watch it right here [Music] the Safety's making the play like that play-action pass and get behind it camp play deep and play on the line is going to shrink back third down and eight Michigan State and Indiana bow struggling on these conversions in this ball game there's the detail for coating right in acceptance then a great pick by cam Jones the true freshman from Memphis with his first career interception the way they're punting is it going Michigan State this might be better than a pun Indiana takes over from inside their own tin and back out to WAP failure failure hasn't any catches tonight you made a good point on the deep pass an interception with a PUD game and the issues Michigan State has had that worked out okay with me would have punted and got the ball down when they did they were gonna have to attend yard line [Music] lying to get the first down and he stepped out a little shy yeah Indiana got away with going because they they were holes in panna stuck the defensive end and prevented him from pouring the quarterback up but they got away with it now they face a third and three with less than ten minutes to go bass drums a lot failure one the first Dallas is wine hopefully dropped in and I just mention that he has ten catches tonight he missed number 11 [Applause] he was looking up before he had it yeah [Music] Josh Butler maybe led with a helmet there at the end of that play so now forth and three in Indiana going for it back in their own territory [Music] [Applause] they need this and they got it and they go to their punt returner J Shawn Harris [Applause] [Music] they had to have a coach yeah that's a gutsy call but again if you're playing to win at the time ticking down you've got to do something you can't punt it away five receptions for harrassing increased time would Luke Timmy it out with the injury completing that for nine yards to Nick Westbrook now the hurry up warp speed whatever they call it [Music] and another one this time underneath the mic legette first action from a jet tonight the senior [Music] dal Justin Lane trying to stop him from getting the first but he got there anyway now impressed are you Payton Ramsay well they know their game it's short throws underneath and he is really efficient [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] right here you see they're just running writing a little girl round over the middle linebacker let him get back team get any depth 2/4 over the middle and off to the races Ramsey says what do you mean we don't have long pass place in our arsenal that's the longest of his career now we've got to point play try to make it 10 points still need a touchdown in a field goal obviously [Applause] market clean less clear they still ain't nineteen to go we got a ballgame I sure do let's check out the paintin Ramsay again he stands in the Marigny takes a hit all good quarterbacks will do that they know that rush is there but they don't let it bother beautiful night 60 degrees 28:18 Indiana goes 90 yards and we've got a new ball game right before that pass they ask you about Peyton Ramsey I thought he was good coming in and seeing it in person I think he's better than good big pass on that drive was the fourth and three that's averted to keep it alive and all of Indiana's points all 18 have come off the michigan state turnovers [Music] Snelson this time we'll return it and because of that fair catch the ball comes to the 25 visits [Music] he faked the give to Weston bridges on the middle to the 40 for a gain of five I'd venture to say that's been their most consistent play tonight you know we haven't seen Connor Heyward since that unsportsmanlike penalty that he had earlier they've really turned it over to Jefferson and bridges [Music] for second five back shoulder throw incomplete Felton Davis couldn't haul it in [Applause] you can see right there it could have been caught pretty tight coverage by Rahim Blaine you know I think in the Anna's got some good young talent he put guys like that playin bumpin runners sophomore and really good receivers that shows it they have confidence in him and gets the ball back here you still have six minutes and three timeouts Brian lower key first half 185 yards two touchdowns this half 28 yards two interceptions and hit as he throws incomplete wouldn't matter would have been short regardless in the area of Cody white and the pressure on the work he was coming from Alan Stallings off the edge yeah he look he's looking left by the time he goes right he's under pressure I think he looked out there that ball could have been intercepted the way threw it out there but another example Brandon where Michigan State killing themselves they get a heat penalty which would have given another first down and they have an offensive lineman downfield negates it now their part of the way and this has been a dicey thing for Michigan State the punt game they trotted to punters out there tonight hunt and Bryce behringer an Indiana down 10 football back after a 35-yard punt but a nice night in Bloomington Indiana Indiana had a big 65 yard touchdown pass [Applause] [Music] slides forward across the 30 [Applause] they've got to go in a hurry but still 5:40 left you've got three timeouts lazy to failure that's more he [Music] catches he's over 140 yards [Applause] said they wanted to get him more involved he's been more involved that's for sure Ramsey continues to be accurate safe pushing forward for the first down nice effort by Donovan Hale is bigger than apart four-man rush they're doing a good job against it just finding the soft spots in that Indiana defense here the safety target Mike Magette he's been pointing born but the key that makes this offense one is every one of those passes are right on the money there's really only been one errant throw tonight from Ramsey in his 35 pass attempts once again [Applause] Mike's wrestling defense of court he's going to do something because they've got that number they're just going down the field methodically no problems throw the ball right over the middle for the catch Ramsey somehow got that ball to Mike Magette not only get it off but Mike the jet was smart enough to get out of Bounce and the drive has been very efficient Indiana still with all three timeouts in their hip pocket and that one a little inaccurate behind Donovan Hale we've seen Ramsey do that tonight yeah cuz he was wide open on this one Payton's like to have that ball back still catch a little bit tough catch keep in mind with a 10 point game the field goal is an option here for the end [Music] [Applause] [Music] this is incomplete right here would be a 40-yarder Ramsey for a field goal but he's going to have to step out we try to dive for the mark of his stepped out back at the 18 he needed the 15-yard line fourth down [Applause] he's out right there yeah right there so a 35-yard field goal coming up and a big one for Logan justice he hid a 35-yard er earlier it's a big kick [Applause] [Music] got it one score game with 328 pounds [Music] so logan justice comes through and what was once a comfortable lead for michigan state now all of a sudden the spartans are biting their net now you kick it off deep and you play defense cuz Indiana's defense has stepped up as of late and they still have all three timeouts [Music] by week trying to get back above 500 once again a pair catch that will come to the 25-yard line and they will do a handoff [Applause] b14 state titles is a track star in high school and he shows off the speed he had the touchdown catch earlier in that run of 75 yards to the house all I can say as well the thing is struggling all night with this and when they need a play they got to keep moving the clock watch that he is gone good walking and as you talked about there no I'm gonna catch him he just coasted he went to Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas and as I said he was a track star with emphasis on the word star and mr. Naylor may have just put the nail in the coffin for the Indiana Hoosiers watch it right here but you know it's him but look at everybody on their blocks right here and he gets to the next level and you know as I talked about before if you're Indiana you gun to all the playthings you got a gamble victims clock is not on your side and once he broke that first line of defense he was gone what a night zone for Jalen Naylor first three touchdowns of his career and they were big ones but now the job a little difficult and Indiana they had all the momentum but Jalen Naylor just sucked that energy right out of the building whap failure continues to have a career night its 13th catch at least on that play this barns aside to go all coverage you're only rushed in three they got the under coverage way back they don't want to give up a quick one Ramsey nothing downfield Mike Magette to the 38 yards long 24 I mean I'm up 3521 254 go in the game I think the only way that I can lose this game if I give up a cheap one like I did before the price shouldn't call it cheap but you know I'm talking about a homerun these signals aren't gonna beeping well that was more like a double but he airmailed Donovan Hale doubles aren't gonna people in these bands incomplete tennis the idea is to win the game Tom Allen after wins and week one two and three down here with their backs against the wall [Music] deceptive and that should be the icing on the cake Antron Simmons the sophomore first interception of his career and you know heads up by him he intercepted the ball this position in the game you know rather than try to do something fancy and return it and get hit and maybe fumble it throws it high he's underneath the crossing route [Applause] look like knave Juan Jones also got a fingertip on that at the line he's gonna go down right [Music] now the congratulate with his teammates [Music] while she wrote probably not worth much to Peyton Ramsey but he did tie his career-high with 32 completions it's going to be a losing effort though when you look at this game 35 21 this game was closer he went back and forth back and forth and the seem like we're here that the appearance that whoever had the ball last might win this game until the long run took place if Michigan State can fix that offensive line though a long way to go in this season and last year such a great turnaround from 2016 there was so much anticipation excitement in East Lansing a bounce-back win after that tough week two loss Mark Dantonio said on the call is rising you know we lost by three dares on this thing we didn't play well on offense but if we had won by three everyone's talking about what a gritty performance it was instead they're saying what's wrong yeah and they had to pick in the end zone against Arizona State but you know sometimes you cover up your problems in victory in you over correct them in defeat and they got some problems he knows that you know everybody knows that they want to run the ball better and they're not doing it Mark Dantonio is now 9 and 1 when facing the Indiana Hoosiers the Spartans have won 10 of 11 and the battle for the old brass spittoon the 65th all-time meeting tonight Michigan State wins at 35 to 21 this could stay really had two big plays for touchdowns that was the difference around the 69 yard pick six that 75 yard run around the edge those were the two big difference makers yeah well they couldn't have come at a more critical time to break that run for the distance just when let's face it Indiana had all the momentum up to that play yeah and let's go down Elise is with Mike D'Antoni oh those just told me nothing comes easy well coach coming off the bye week you open up conference play with a win what did you like about your team's effort today well I thought we played hard and played with a lot of energy we made some mistakes and you know got to be able to overcome those mistakes tonight we did but I thought her defense played very very well we got some big plays by the offense and you know big two-minute drive at the end of the half and that big big one down here or about only 70 yards or so by Jalen Naylor so and we won the game it's a tough environment and you know India's gonna got a good football team Jalen Naylor a freshman scores his first career touchdown stay what impressed you about him today well his nickname speedy so yeah he turned it loose there on that one and they got a big catch down there with a great throw from the were key but you know still made some mistakes but but we got the win with two and one and you know we got that last one off our belt coach thanks so much for the time they said that they called Jalen Naylor speedy he showed off that track speed with a game clinching touchdown and Michigan State starts Big Ten play off right with a victory in Bloomington 35 to 21 for Glen Mason and Ally Schmitt occur Jim restaurant producer Andrew blaustein art director I'm Brandon gun as we get ready to send you to Chicago Dave reticence Staley and chuck they're all there for the State Farm postgame as we say good night from Indiana
