for the past thirty plus years if you were looking to buy a family car here in America chances are you are most likely comparing a Toyota Camry with a Honda Accord which makes it much more interesting that both of these rivals have been fully redesigned for the 2018 model year and in this video I'm gonna be comparing a fully loaded camry xse v6 with an equally fully loaded Honda Accord Touring equipped with the new 2-liter turbocharged engine but I know the big question that you're all wondering which one of these sedans is actually the better buy well that's what you're going to find out [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so for the longest time exterior design wasn't always a huge important factor when it came to designing a midsize family car however with everyone buying crossovers nowadays manufacturers have been forced to make their family sedans even more stylish and that's really the case when you look at both but let's start with the Camry because as you guys know I've shown you a full review on this car it was all new for 2018 it's been on sale for actually a little over a year now and this has been doing extremely well for Toyota I mean just look at the design this one is the fully loaded xse v6 it is the top of the line and the sportiest camera you can buy the one thing that you guys know about cameras is the standard features list has been really increased LED headlights are standard my tester has full LED headlights with an LED turn signal and LED high beams they're also automatic high beams just because this one's the fully loaded mall and really when you look at the grille of this car it's certainly actually a very polarizing front end with the black contrast with this silver exterior color the black also has a very interesting matte almost matte finish to it you can see here this car also has parking sensors and then no actual fog lights in this car it really has a low and wide stance and that's can something that Camrys have never had as you guys know this car is now riding on an all-new platform it's the Toyota global new product global architecture platform and it's now lower it's now wider 18-inch wheels are included on the SE model wearing 235 series tires the wheels themselves a lot of contrast with the black the machine finish and then the camry surprisingly for me is actually this sporty or looking model because of the black painted roof which Titus says these are actually hand painted at the factory which is surprising and then of course the red leather which really stands out this is actually a really great color combination with the silver with the red with the black roof you can also get this with a white white exterior color the Toyota calls windchill pearl now in terms of the actual length this is really comparable to in a core they're like right on top of each other the wheelbase is now 111 inches long it's about 191 inches long and you know this is kind of right smack in the middle in terms of size for mid-size sedans Camrys and Accords or at least the Accord used to be the bigger option versus you know camera now the two of them are basically the same size now at the back I actually think the camera is the one that looks better in the rear I really like the way it looks on the six-cylinder with the quad outlet exhaust the black spoiler these LED tail lights I don't love these fake events here this is only included on the SE and XS II trim but overall I think the rear end styling of the camry is the more attractive vehicle versus the front but let's take a look at the Accord and see how that one stacks up so coming to the all-new Honda Accord you guys will know the Camry actually came out first the Accord was a couple of months later and the design of the Accord is also equally different but also somewhat familiar the front end styling has garnered a lot of love it or hate it from a lot of consumers and the motoring press I actually love the front end of the Accord I think it's the better-looking car versus the all-new camry I just prefer the design of the grille with this black finish I don't love the shiny chrome which you can get a black chrome if you guys go for the sport just like the camry LED headlights are standard LED low beams are standard this model because as a touring has full LED headlights and then LED turn signals and then the Accord gives you LED fog lights which I think are a nice addition with really making this look a lot more premium and just like a camry this car is also low and wide and then i noticing that the hood is a lot longer on the accord which is interesting because this has the smaller engine as you guys know there's no more v6 this one has the 2-liter turbo for now just like the all-new camry this is also on an all-new platform that it shares with the civic is stronger it's lighter it was also lengthen these 18 inch wheels are included on the touring model which I think actually looked pretty good I do prefer the wheels that you got on the Sport trim but these are also shot in 235 series tires so just as wide now for this whole new generation Honda also increased the wheelbase it's 111 inches long as well it's slightly longer than Camry about a 192 inches long so it gives it a little bit more trunk space and I also found the Accords backseat was a little bit more spacious now one thing you're gonna notice no painted black roof on a court and also just a standard size sunroof Camry offers a pay no senator so that's kind of one up in terms of the Camry saver I'm also noticing the rear window here on the Accord doesn't go all the way down it stops right here for child safety reasons while Camry allows you to put that window all the way down now looking at the rear styling of the Accord this is where I think the Camry is the better looking vehicle a lot of people don't like the rear of the Accord it's definitely growing on me but I see a lot of Chevy Malibu Chevy Impala design with this taillight of course they're LED tail lights unlike the camera you don't get actual quad exhaust just a standard dual exhaust which is actually just a finisher at the bottom they're not connected to the actual pipes and then because you have the 2-liter turbo model gives you a 2.0 T badge to let you know this is the top engine spec now the Accords trunk that also has kinda has like a rear spoiler that's sort of integrated into it and then the trunk itself when you open it is bigger than Camrys about a cubic foot bigger this is 16.7 cubic feet versus 15 and a half on the camry so this is a much more usable trunk but the hinges do crush your car both seats also fold down to give you more space so on the inside these two cars couldn't be more different taking a look at the camry first you can see this car will immediately stand out especially in this color combination with this red bright red leather interior with the two-tone with a silver exterior you can get this red leather on the silver or the whites or I believe Toyota offers it all as well on like a grayish color but nevertheless it's a really striking looking interior when you first look at it the seats are like a 10 Way or 12 wide power adjustable they are heated but they aren't cooled the seats themselves I think they look pretty nice with the gray I did find the seats to be on the harder side even after a week's worth of testing the seats were still a little bit hard for me after you know driving this thing for an extended period now getting into the camera you're gonna notice it immediately feels lower to the ground compared to all the other cameras that I've tested in the past or the old camera that you guys may be trading in and then when you shut the door it sounds nice and solid so I wasn't really expecting anything less now starting the camry up put your foot on the brake keep the key fob in here and then push this button here to fire it up now the engine in this car is the main characteristic of it it is buttery smooth typical of what you expect from a Toyota or Lexus product it's a really smooth free revering quiet engine that I think will appeal to a lot of traditionalists buyers now the rest of this interior of the Camry compared to the Accord I mean this is a very kind of avant-garde looking design it's got a traditional infotainment system where the screen doesn't stick out it's an 8 inch Toyota Entune 3.0 without apple carplay of course Toyota says they are adding that for the 2019 model year where you should be able to just do an upgrade from the dealership and will add apple carplay right now it does not have that in terms of the materials in here it's you know pretty solid soft touch on the upper - you have this you know textured aluminum look trim there's a little LED light that's underneath this little trim piece here there's some piano black plastic that I found showed a lot of dust or fingerprints there is actually authentic stitching here on this dashboard with the red leather it's really nice overall it's a really nice looking interior down here it is hard touch plastic there is a relatively small glovebox here with you know a loo that's not padded or I'm sorry it's not lined but it is softly damped the instrument panel you can see here it's got a helper screen which is like a seven-inch LCD versus the the half LCD that the Accord gives you it's very traditional you control this screen here you know from this little wheel pad right here you can change the different graphics and whatnot the different menus the steering wheel is tilt telescoping it's gotten panels on the wheel that are plastic it controls the you know 8-speed transmission when you put the vehicle in Reverse the Camry does have one up over the Accord and that's a 360 camera you can't even get this on the Accord it has front and rear parking sensors as well it's really nice I wasn't expecting this level of technology from Toyota the camera quality is also pretty good which is really good the map quality you can see here it's kind of just the Toyota navigation system that I've shown you before nothing too special it'll get the job done really I'm excited for Toyota to add apple carplay the Camry also has a wireless phone charger here if you guys have an iPhone 10 or an iPhone 8 whatnot or the comparable Android just place your phone there there's a little bit more storage underneath here which is nice your USB port is over here with another power outlet there's cupholders right here this is where you control your heated seats right here it's three level heated seats electronic parking brake you can see there's three different drive modes on Camry Ecole Normale Eco normal and sport it has a brake hold function there's two more USB ports in there along with some good storage I mean really what this interior is missing is cooled seats the court has ventilated seats and then there's also no memory seating which is really strange especially at this price point and then my tester also doesn't even have automatic rain sensing wipers so that's something that I was you know really frustrated to find missing but it does have is a really big panoramic sunroof so if you guys want all the light coming in well showing off this red leather the Camry is the one you to get I'm surprised Honda didn't put a pentose sunroof on this car I have noticing some quality issues in this Camry the leather here looks a little bit too worn out it's really disappointing to see on a brand new car and then when I was just kind of poking around the interior I found that a couple of the trim pieces here a little bit looser fitting but that's kind of nitpicking the materials here are nice the windows are one touch on all four windows which is good there's some soft leather right here where your elbows would rest but I mean overall the cameras interior makes a strong first impression the design may not be for everyone's taste but it's also a little bit more traditional here but let's hop into the Accord and see how this compares to the Toyota so when you look at the interior of the new Accord in stark contrast with the camry the interior actually looks a little bit more traditional kind of going in the theme that all the other competitors have gone I really like the seats in this car even though Honda doesn't offer a bright red leather on the Accord I like the two-tone beige with the black interior on this particular touring trim the seats are also heated and ventilated that's what the perforations are for the seat has a 12 way power adjustment the leather itself feels a lot more plush it's a lot more comfortable versus the Camry and I found them to be more supportive at least for me so try the seats out before you guys decide to purchase this vehicle or any vehicle now getting inside it instantly feels lower than Camry which is shocking because the Camry already feels a lot lower for this new generation but shutting the door it sounds nice and solid the two are pretty comparable in that regard now starting the vehicle up just like Camry put your foot on the brake push this button here to start up the engine now obviously when you first start up the Accord you can instantly tell it is a four cylinder in this car only me mostly because of the engine noises it makes but when you start revving it out [Music] the engine definitely is a lot noisier and buzzy ER versus the smooth buttery six-cylinder in the Camry so some of you can referred or who miss your v6 Accord you're not gonna be particularly mu amused with that when you first started up but the rest of this interior it's very luxurious feeling in here I would even say it's more so than the Camry the materials in here are nice you have soft touch grading on this upper portion of the dash down here it is hard touch plastic but I have to say this would look trim looks real but when you start touching it it feels super fake but I also like the fact that it does look nice the Camry that I showed you had the aluminum trim the Accord sport will have that aluminum trim this little symbol here stands for NFC Near Field Communication if you have a compatible smartphone just touch it right there it'll automatically pair the Bluetooth to the actual infotainment system the rest of the interior here you can see the door panel on the driver side also is soft touch there's a nice aluminum door handle here the windows are only one touch for the driver and front-passenger the back windows are not one touch so that's really disappointing toyota gives that to you it's nice and padded right here with some good storage tandy does give you a two-person memory function which is nice Toyota leaves that out and then both vehicles will have a head-up display Honda's is definitely a little bit smaller than what Toyota gives you they both show an equal amount of information now coming to this center display here you can see as I mentioned the attack is a digital display if you'd like you can change this to show anything you basically want from you know navigation driver support driver attention the one thing I don't like is if you want to like look at your fuel and range for example it gets rid of the tach I would prefer that Honda left the tack up like maybe moved those informations down here it's just something I guess a little bit of a quibble of mine but I just prefer to see the tach some of you that may not be a big deal necessarily another steering wall it also has a nicer higher quality leather than what I found on the Toyota although this area right here is a little bit more wrinkled versus this side so it kind of makes it feel a little bit cheaper but it has a really nice stitching it feels good in your hands it has paddle shifters for the 10 speed automatic coming to this center stack here this is the 8 inch Honda Honda link infotainment system their latest system it is really really good you can see the map graphics are here this is Garmin it's definitely quicker than the Toyota in terms of its response going to the home screen here you can see apple carplay and android auto is included even Toyota is gonna add apple carplay to camry next year but still no major auto so this may you know sway a lot of you buyers out there when you put the vehicle in Reverse it does give you a back up camera with three different views and rear cross-traffic alert but no 360 camera which I'm surprised at Haunted didn't include that you do get front and rear parking sensors just like on the camry but this infotainment system with its big knobs big labeled buttons it's one of the best in the business now some people may criticize this Accords interior for kind of just being a blatant copy of a Mazda 6 which in turn copying the BMW I think that's okay I think it's a clean looking interior I like the tablet style screen actually over what the Camry gives you because I think this is going to age better over time it just makes it look a little bit more modern the ventilated seats you can see here there's three level on the front Toyota doesn't offer that I will say that they're not cool seats like some other competitors what it does is it just circulates cold air through the perforations it feels cold at times but most of the times I thought that the cooled seat didn't work very well some competitors gave you an actually better cooled C's although camry doesn't even give you that over here you can see wireless charging pad good storage USB this controls your 10 speed automatic transmission which some of you are you know Express to your dislike for this I think it's fine I got used to it pretty quick there's a dedicated sport button here that actually adjusts the suspension it's got adaptive dampers and then changes to the tach to show a boost gauge which is pretty cool definitely makes you you know realize the Accord is the sporty ER option you have an electronic parking brake here nice padded area right there with a good size center console above you you can see just a standard size sunroof which is standard on the e.x trim or available on sport 2.0 see the seats I think they are super comfortable I would personally probably prefer this car just because the seats are more preferable than Camry but overall the interior of the Accord is definitely a really nice place to spend time so because these are two family sedans the rear seat is really important consideration and this is where the cameras back seat makes a really great first impression now getting back here sitting down I love this red interior color it makes the Toyota feel the sporty ER and more youthful offering which is surprising that's always been the Honda's job but you can see I'm five foot seven and there is a good amount of space back here great leg room here the hump here takes up space for this the middle passenger although the seats I find going to be soft comfortable good Headroom despite the fact that you've got this big panel sunroof which does add a lot of light now the materials back here I want to say they're good it's soft touch on the actual upper door handles here there's some aluminum trim the windows back here are one touch automatic up down there's good storage there's two matte pockets there's a receive vents and then when you fold this down here you get an armrest with cupholders in the seats are 60/40 now one thing this is missing back here is there's no power outlets no USB and the no heated rear seats this is something that you'll find on a lot of competitors but let's hop in the back seat of the Accord and compare now in comparison the Accords rear seat is extremely cavernous I mean this is where the front seats were basically in the same spot as the Camry and I'm noticing immediately there is more legroom back here so if you guys have taller friends you need more space in the backseat the Accords the one to get there's a equally large hump here so the middle passenger will be feeling a little bit constrained but I'm just noticing it feels a little bit more spacious in here for this versus the cameo camera it's not like cramped by any means but when you get into a Honda you'll see the kind of limitations here just like the camera you have dual map pockets you have rear seat vents and then if you fold this down here you have a nice armrest here with dual cupholders now one thing that the Accord kind of 1ups with the camera is it offers heated rear seats on this top trim but both vehicles still don't have any kind of USB or power outlets back here so that's something that some of the competitors I've seen I've offered but overall if you need the bigger backseat the Accord is the one you want to go with so under the hood these two cars couldn't be more different and that's not an interesting fact because before they used to be really really similar but let's first start under the hood of the all-new camry this is also this is where it's gonna get very familiar you can see here struts are what hold the hood up and this is Toyota's corporate v6 it's a 3.5 liter naturally aspirated v6 with direct and port injection that's what for s stands for and Power has been substantially increased for this all new generation 301 horsepower that makes it one of the most powerful in the segment at least right behind the Ford Fusion sport until Ford kills it for the 2019 mile year and 267 pound feet of torque this is these are excellent numbers the fact that we get 300 horsepower under the hood of a front-wheel drive Camry I mean what a world we live in now all that power goes through an 8-speed automatic that's two more gears versus the previous generation and fuel economy is actually pretty good just because it's a v6 doesn't mean she's thirsty 22 in the city 32 on the highway on regular grade gas this car still roughly weighs around 3,600 pounds so it's right there in the norm but let's move over to the Honda and see the differences now unlike the Accords of the past you don't have struts anymore holding this up because it's a four-cylinder Honda typically saves that for the six-cylinder Accords but there's no more six cylinder as you guys know so you have a crop rod here that holds us up now this engine is definitely I think the more interesting choice versus the two it's come Honda's new 2-liter turbocharged direct-injection four-cylinder with VTEC this is the type R's motor with a smaller turbo and a slightly different tune it makes 252 horsepower which is less than the old Accord v6 however it has more torque than the Camry 273 pound-feet from like 1500 to like 4500 rpm so it's a very broad range of torque now because it doesn't have a v6 the front end was also lightened although this car weighs roughly around 3,500 pounds right in line with the Camry it pairs through an all-new 10 speed automatic transmission now it's not a CVT like you get on the 1.5 so just keep that in mind if you don't like cvts get the 2-liter this is also available with a 6-speed manual so this is calling to mind be enthusiastic me it just makes for a much more interesting drive now Accords are still front-wheel drive and just because this is a 4-cylinder turbo it doesn't have a fuel economy advantage over the Camry it's still rated at 22 in the city and 32 on the highway so they're dead even but they to drive very differently so let's get out on the road and see how they both drive so for the driving scene between these two vehicles I'm gonna do things a little bit differently because I showed you guys a full redline review on both I'm mostly gonna be talking about the differences between the two since I have them back-to-back now first starting off with the Camry there's no Camry really will surprised anyone who has never driven the newest it is nothing like the soft mushy squishy just kind of cloud car that the old one was and Toyota really has stepped up their game it feels a lot like the you know Honda Accord or the Mazda 6 in terms of sportiness and really the 300 horsepower v6 is real is what's going to be that icing on the cake now this car is front-wheel drive with this much power going to the front wheels let's see how it does from a full throttle acceleration I'm going to put into sport mode and try off the traction control [Music] now surprisingly no torque steer they're just you know some good amount of wheel spin which is what I expected this is still a front-wheel drive car but the Camry tracks pretty straight and the v6 has Lexus like levels of refinement you saw it revs really quickly the 8-speed automatic while it's not you know a really quick sporty transmission it shifts you know smoothly you know fast enough the Lane Departure alert is typical Toyota where it has steering assist and it continuously beeps on backroads so I found myself turning it off because the steering assist is pretty lame it doesn't actually do a really good job at actually you know keeping the steering wheel from leaving or turning the stereo on keeping the car from going in a straight line but just you know going down the road in the Camry the suspension is very buttoned down it's firm but not overly harsh it feels you know sporty it's not soft and floaty like Camrys of the past or you know it felt like you were driving like a Japanese Buick or it kind of just you know floated over bumps this feel is nice and well damped well controlled the steering is also electrically assisted but it's will surprise you it's relatively quick and the Camry kind of changes directions pretty fast without too much body leans so Toyota has really succeeded in making this the sportiest driving Camry ever no longer is the FCE or xse all about the looks this kind of has the handling dynamics to back it up it's got the acceleration from the 300 horsepower v6 and it'll put a smile on your face a Camry will actually put a smile on your face [Music] god this thing really likes to burn out its tires but again not really any torque steer not really any wheel hub just a really you know sharp driving you know quick accelerating car that has decent designs of visibility now one thing about this car is the dashboard is a little bit higher so I find myself kind of trying to look over the dash but the view out of the sides the back the front is you know reasonably well just I don't after you kind of get used to it this pillar is a little bit on the thick side all cameras come standard with Toyota's safety cents P which is all their driver assistance tech as you guys saw the only thing I really don't like is the Lane Departure alert with steering assist it just doesn't do as good of a job as I expected it like some competitors to do but the v6 I found there was a little bit soft initially because it's a naturally aspirated engine you have to rev the engine out and really it doesn't come alive until until you past 3,000 rpm the 8-speed automatic you know has good shifts like I said before the seats I do find them that they I do find that they're a little bit on the harder side they hug you somewhat but not as well as some other sporty-er seats I just really liked the color that Toyota offers but really if you took away the you know the red leather this one has I think the seats are a little bit plain looking but you can see here going around some corners you never thought you could do this in a Camry but the new Camry really does it well and with this panel sunroof it just adds to the whole ambiance of the car it feels you know pretty premium it's a really sporty driving Camry that makes you wonder why did Toyota even bother with Lexus until you start looking at the features list where this car is missing things like cooled seats memory seats rain-sensing windshield wipers I just think that those omissions were frustrating on this car considering the you know as tested price of $38,000 I think Toyota should have included more but you know as a daily driver the Camry is excellent it's nice and quiet in here really really quiet and also comfortable riding despite the fact that this is a sporty or to drive it's still quiet it's still comfortable it's still what kind of will allow you to forget about all the annoyances that's outside in the world aside from the annoying Lane Departure alert which you can ease just turn off but let's hop into the Accord and compare cuz Honda went with a completely different route with that car with its turbo engine removing the v6 so I know a lot of you are curious to see after you know driving the Camry seeing how this drives how the ANU courted the new Accord will drive so switching over to the Honda Accord it's amazing how these two vehicles have the same mission but when you get behind the wheel they have such a different feel now the Accord has traditionally always been the sporty are offering the new camry has really raised the bar but really what I noticed the most throughout their new Accord is the visibility in this thing you can see a lot better out of this car and you don't really notice it in the camera until you get into the Accord the dash is nice and low these eight pillars are nice and thin and skinny so you can easily see around you it just gives you more confidence when you're behind the wheel but getting out on the road in the new Accord this 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder is you know replacing the v6 and I have to say the Accord feels equally button-down and sporty maybe even a tad too sporty er than Camry it's so close I mean people aren't gonna be taking these out to a track and I feel like you'd have to go to a racetrack if you guys wanted to you know see the differences in the actual handing handling characteristics now right now I have the car in its normal setting and it makes the ride a little bit softer it makes the transmission shift a little bit sooner the drive modes in the Accord either normal or sport they do make a difference in this car versus the Camry and the Camry it didn't really alter the steering on the suspension just the transmission tuning this car also has an eco mode that kind of retards everything it makes it even slower but my gosh when you put it into sport mode the tach changes the transmission you know down shifts brings the revs up a little bit and you feel the ride get firmer now this is a firmer ride versus the Camry for sure it's not overly harsh but it's a ride that will appeal to you know the enthusiast you can feel like you feel like this car was designed to you know attack some corners when you kick out passengers and that's exactly what the new Accord will do the you know overall confidence feeling that you get is just really nice and planted now one thing I have no because this car is designed to be sporty air it is a little bit louder than the Accord the road noise is higher you hear the engine noise a little bit more but what Honda does really well as their driver assistance tech the core is Honda sensing which is standard is just better than the Camrys the active lane keep assist function does do a better job at actually steering you in the lane it's just a much more satisfying system to use which is great it just kind of shows that the Honda system is more advanced on Toyota it does have a generation 2 of their Toyota safety sense P that I tested in the new Corolla which was you know pretty similar to the Honda system but you know just cruising along on the highway the Accord is you know really strong it is comfortable the seats are more comfortable but what I'm basically is going to tell you is it's a little bit noisier than the Accord when you start looking at the road noise and the engine noise [Music] now some of that engine noise is good this cars engine is a distant cousin or it's basically the Civic type-r motor with you know a different tune and a smaller turbochargers so this car will get up and go and even though it is down 50 horsepower versus the camry it does have like five more foot-pounds of torque and it's realized from 1500 to 4500 rpm so this car is the quicker model despite the fact that the Accord is down on that power it is about 150 pounds lighter it's got two more gears in the transmission which by the way let's talk about this tents me because it is Honda's 10 speed transmission it's not co-developed with Zia for anything like their 9 speed and it's an excellent transmission one of the best 10 speeds you can buy in the business equally as good as the 10 speed that you'll find on the Lexus products specifically the Lexus LC or the Lexus LS but it's a really you know great powertrain combination really some may miss the v6 the v6 definitely had you know a much more refined noise a better sound especially those of you who tuned it put an intake on it or exhaust or something but I imagine because this is a Type R motor you're gonna equally find a lot of tune ability that's going to come out and the Accord definitely is a very sporty car and it's a very quick car when you put your foot down but find some off ramps or on ramps and start attacking the corners in the Accord and Wow it's amazing what this family sedan will do the body doesn't really have much leaning the steering is really tight responsive a little bit better than the camera everything in the Accord is just kind of been notched up a level in terms of sportiness although the camry still offers a little bit more of a luxurious right and you know quieter interior [Music] now in terms of the turbo the lag it's definitely not as refined as the 6-cylinder you're gonna get in the Camry the Camrys engine is just more linear it's a naturally aspirated engine so it's gonna be linear this engine is really great by turbo standards but you're never gonna forget that it's a four-cylinder and you're never gonna forget really that it's a turbo because you're gonna hear the turbo whistling noises you're gonna feel the boost kick in and it's just a much more visceral experience so me as a younger guy I definitely appreciate you know the sensations that I'm getting from the Accord it's just a much more visceral feeling car which you know could be a turn-off to somebody who wants something a little bit smoother a little bit luxurious there's a reason why you know Acura still has a v6 option because the Acura is definitely goes more that refined route this is you know refined by four-cylinder turbo standards but you're gonna notice that it's not quite as great as a six cylinder but you know for me the fact that Honda offers a stick the fact that you know they have you know this turbo engine it's a much better laid out interior the driving experience in the interior layout of the Accord is just more natural for me and I think it's going to it's one of the reasons why I prefer this car although the camry is not bad and it has its own strengths that's going to appeal to that specific biter so as an enthusiast in the past the Honda Accord was always the easy pick if I was looking for a family car however with to all new versions of these Stallworth rivals it's really making the decision that much harder as you guys saw the Camry is no longer that mushy old person car that you knew it once was the styling of this car I think is actually the better looking between the two especially with the rear with that black painted roof that panoramic sunroof that bright red leather interior it really screams to the performance side was for me and it's surprising that Toyota has made the Camry that much more sport here as you guys saw from the test drive its v6 engine is quick smooth quiet it's right as pillowy it's a quiet interior it has a better sound system and there are definitely certain aspects of the Camry that I prefer over the Accord but really where it falls short between the Honda is in the tech department is where the Honda has really one-upped itself it's got ventilated seats it's got memory seats it's got apple carplay and android auto it's got a much better infotainment system and really Toyota is just kind of one refresh away in the infotainment system to kind of matching Honda but the Accords other strengths really come into play the two liter turbo engine is a little bit louder however it is quicker it's better like more aggressive sounding and in terms of the handling the two are very similar but the court kind of edges it just a little bit when you put into its sport mode with the adaptive dampers the tennspeed transmission is also very very quick shifting and also I think this is one equally good-looking car but I'd probably go for a sports you know 2 liter turbo with the 6-speed manual if you really want something that's really different so coming to the conclusion let's talk about the price of these two vehicles because this fully loaded Camry with the v6 xse is thirty-eight thousand three hundred and thirty five dollars compare that to this fully loaded Accord which is around thirty six thousand six hundred ninety five dollars I mean a two-thousand dollar difference is separating the two kind of makes it you know a push with that all that said how are the sales Toyota has been selling a crap ton of cameras ever since this came out they've been moving around about three hundred and eighty thousand every year they did that for 2017 compared to Honda where sales were down on the Accord when this first came out in fact they were so down that dealers were demanding the Honda come out with incentives because these were literally sitting on the Lots not to respond Honda has put incentives on this car which has helped with sales although Camry is still out selling it a good amount but the one thing about Honda is they'll tell you that Toyota does about 20% fleet sales which has lowered the resale value if you take out the fleet sales the two cars are pretty closely evenly matched when you look at the private sales now with all that said in this you know head-to-head comparison which one would I personally take I would go with the Accord just because I like the tech interfaces I like the level of trims that Honda offers with the transmissions you offer they offer a manual so for me I think Honda kind of raised the bar and making the Accord even much more sporty and premium while as Toyota made a much better Camry but that could kind of go either way as long as Toyota kind of ups the tech and makes the Camry you know adds the features that the Camry is missing that I personally think it should have but anyways I hope you guys have enjoyed my full comparison to us between these two cars it was a one heck of a fight but I'm gonna go with the all-new 2018 Accord if you're also looking to see Billy's cars I'm testing make sure you follow us on instagram at red line underscore
