I must say when we first started hearing about hybrid super cars from Ferrari, Porsche, and even the vaporware nsx I thought it was stupid. That there was no point of having a super car be hybrid, after the last few month of seeing how they drive and the performance they deliver I have changed my tune about them.
If the tech in these incredible cars could be scaled down for cars in the 50-60k range(or less as tech improves) someday I would not hesitate to buy one. The seamless power you get with electric torque fill on demand torque is insane. I'm truly excited to see what he future brings to cars.
Even the Tesla model S has won me over. The Tesla Roadster was awesome but impractical for everyday use (as any tiny 2 seater) so getting it as a weekend car didn't appeal, as I would prefer to row my own gears still. The Model S has launched ev two the masses with a fast, super practical, and damn good looking cat. I would actually ditch the Dino burning daily for that in a heart beat.
I'm no where near being able to afford any of these cars but am excited four the future as the tech matures and trickles down to more affordable versions of these cars make their way down the road.
A nod to Porsche for sending the 918 over to Jay's Garage with a racecar driver/test pilot and not someone whose business title reads like a John Grisham novel.
I personally think the 918 is one of the best looking cars of the past few decades.
For me its the best supercar by a long ways. P1 doesn't really do it for me and I haven't seen anyone do this type of look at the Ferrari.
