2014 BUMPER SWAP ON A 07-13 SILVERADO

what's up guys welcome back to another video [Music] in this video we're going to be showing you guys how to install a 2014 plus bumper on your oh seven to thirteen i got my quinoa here helping me out oh i'm helping you today yeah all right because we need to kind of put this bumper supposed to be a straight swap so we're going to find out for ourselves and then i'm going to go ahead and start wrapping it too so that way our back piece here is all finished so all the back side besides the wing i still need to wait till this cures a little bit longer and then i can go ahead and wrap over this i'll give it maybe one more day just to completely completely get cured there all right let's go ahead and get started this looks exactly like the original one so hopefully it's just bolt-on like i said we're gonna find out i did order in a black and we're just gonna wrap over it anyways so they did send us new hardware i'm gonna leave a link in the description if you guys want that same bumper but we're going to be using i'm going to try to use the original stuff the part right here has to slip into here right there but the main thing you have to be careful is the end make sure you don't scratch my my my nicely wrapped uh bed right there do you guys think am i going to scratch this truck or no yes or no yes or no actually outside no like this no actually it's inside it's inside sure yeah shouldn't say take it off just hold it like that i'm gonna see how far it goes our line right here i don't know if it's it's the mind at all now we're hello we're far so all right let's see what's going on here it hits this bar here so i'm gonna have to trim this out i know you guys can see that i'm gonna grab my grinder and just grind and take this whole part out right here because it hits right here so i'm gonna grind this part over here all right went ahead and uh trimmed these little areas down and apply some self etching uh primer here so we don't get any rust down here went ahead and pushed this back a little bit too when i have some primer right there too there we go granny russ you know what i mean because you painted the restaurant nah and you leave it like that and it stays uh stays bare metal are you really gonna get rid of this what yeah i do [Music] have to i have to all right let's go ahead we're going to go ahead and test it again see if we did everything necessary already to have this installed ready all right we're gonna switch aside [Applause] you wanted to drive a little bit i mean you don't touch the areas it's impossible oh there's a take that little piece off yeah hold it right there okay what you think buddy wait so are you gonna take off your hat no i'm screwing the bumper oh i don't take the plastic off without the without the uh without taking the bumper turn out perfect all right we got the bumper all installed let me show you the little pieces that we did trim so it was this piece here again i don't know if you got an omi oem one you can kind let's see if you can see there you go that's a little clearance right there that we made so again i don't know if you have a oem one if you need to do that but this is an aftermarket bumper so it just needed that small little trim there just to clear that and on this side right there you can kind of see it too right there that little trim piece right there just to clear that i'm gonna have to also order the lights for these parts here the trailer plug here and the extra thing here i thought that came with this one but it didn't come with it so other than that it is the same bolts and it's the same hardware and everything that you need uh i'm going to go ahead and clean up this bumper i don't know what we have like some let me clean it up and then i'm going to have to remove these plastics anyways to wrap the bumper we're gonna wrap it the same color as a truck you know it kind of looks pretty pretty badass right there but i'm gonna go ahead and wrap the bumper the same color as a truck so i'm gonna grab some stuff to remove all these plastics here i don't know where i have to oh man i'm gonna have to get in here somewhere to somehow to remove this there's another bolt on the bottom the rest must be just clips holding it together and then this i think it has like bolts here here and down here and this whole thing should pop out but i'll figure it out right now so i'll catch up to you guys right now when i remove all the plastics all right i managed to take this off we did break a couple clips like these so we have to glue them back on so it can actually snap in place but that's one of the hardest plastics i've had to take out man even that truck the plastics are not that bad they just kind of pop out again i don't know if it's because it's an aftermarket bumper but man that was hard so i'm going ahead and clean this panel up measure it out and then i'll show you guys how to wrap it oh man sweating and it's hot outside so fairly easy i'm just gonna need to pull it a little bit in this area here because of this this thing here so i'm gonna have to make a cut and then that's kind of kind of hard right there honestly i look at it but it's dual ball just cut a little slit make sure it goes through there that's pretty much it so let's go ahead and grab my alcohol clean the panel up and cut our piece out [Music] so [Music] oh foreign [Music] [Music] hmm [Music] all right it's cutting the next day we got the whole bumper already covered and everything we just need to put these uh plastics back on because right now they're all loose and then we need to push this all the way in and put the plastics back on but here we have it and all in all all you have to do is trim that little thing with the grinder and that's all it takes to fit this bumper it's nice and sturdy bam so we also have to order the two pieces that are gonna go here and here they did not come with the bumper even though on the listing it says it comes with this piece here mine didn't so uh i did place an order they did give me credit and i did place a order locally so don't worry we're going to have the piece that goes here and then we're going to give this all a clean up i would recommend to do the bumper change though when the tailgate is off because um i did mess up my wrap a little bit here you guys can see that when i was taking this plastic off so totally do that i still need to run put it or put our new license plate on and it did come with this uh lighting kit which is pretty nice i didn't think it came with that but so this is our lighting kit that's going to go in here from the back side so we're going to switch those out to leds and that's pretty much it let me know what you guys think i'm gonna wrap this off camera like i said if you guys want to see a video of me wrapping this we're gonna leave it up here but it's fairly fairly easy i'm gonna do it in uh i'm gonna do an inlay on each of these little holes and then two two pieces one on the top and one on the bottom you obviously want to start with the bottom one and then the top one's gonna wrap over so make sure you guys check out that video i'm gonna put up here if you guys want to see that wrap but let me know what you guys think of the new bumper like i said where plastics are not fully on but she's coming along she's pretty much all done we just need a whole front end to do we have the grille done i'm going to be working on the bumpers next in the front but that's about it look at that let me know what you guys think of this so that's gonna be it
