America is one nation indivisible with one capital in DC and one national championship in golf in the shadow of the symbols of our country's highest ideals play the course play your game America's national championship the US Open at America's national championship opportunity abounds in this new era seemingly with no dominant star without the towering one named wonders who dominated their time the young guns and celebrated veterans have assembled a third time host Congressional near the nation's capitol to challenge themselves in their sports most rigorous test to stand out among the rest - perhaps stake a claim as golf's next great player maybe it'll be the long-range bomber who's sure thing last year disintegrated in a final round collapse at Pebble or the young Irishman poised to seize his moment just two months ago at Augusta before a masters meltdown the admired accomplished veterans still seeking their first major the defending champ of the crest of a European wave or the five-time bridesmaid hoping to finally put all those near misses behind it this year at Congressional opportunity abounds at what may be the most wide-open Championship in memory America's national championship the US Open begins today with high heat and rain leading up to the open how congressional would play was an open question defending champion Graham McDowell came to this US opened with his sights set firmly on the future even through four holes McDowell made that birdie putt at the par-5 6th to get to 1-under at the par-3 10th a new hold at Congressional for this US Open thirty-one-year-old from Northern Ireland faced a difficult bunker shot you tap that in for par to remain at 1-under on the 18th at 523 yards the longest par-4 in US Open history McDowell had this putt for his 12th par in a row he finished at 1-under par 7 Louis Oosthuizen became a familiar face in golf after his emphatic victory at st. Andrew's last summer in the British Open the 28 year old South African had this 4-iron approach from 206 yards at the 11th just some type of good golf swing and some type of good shot there boost hastens tap-in birdie took him to 2-under at the 18th he had this 9-iron approach on a hole playing more than 500 yards his ball would settle within that of Graham McDowell and set up a birdie putt and chance to shoot 69 with the birdie and a 200 par 69 boost Aysen finishes a shot ahead of McDowell Lee Westwood's best finish in a US Open came in 2008 where he was a shot out of the playoff between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate he was +1 through his first 10 holes and was putting for a 2 at the par-3 2nd we'll take him to even par for the day but he would give two shots back before coming to the par five six only 234 to carry the water to get to the front of the green I think this is a very doable shot westwoods errant approach led to a bogey six he finished at for over 75 34 year old American Ryan Palmer had missed the cut in his two previous starts at the US Open he came to the par-3 10th at 2-under tied for the lead he converted that for birdie giving him sole possession of the lead at the par-5 16th he was long with his approach and faced this delicate pitch for his fourth he salvaged a bogey and finished his round at 2-under 69 South Korea's ye yang the 2009 PGA champion missed the cut in his two previous US Opens he was at 1-under through his first 14 holes but putting for birdie at the 6th and with that he moved into second next at the par-3 7th plane 159 yards yang with a 7-iron just above the hole he faced a speedy downhill putt for his second straight birdie and with the birdie yang moved to 3-under and that's where he finished his round which at the time gave him the clubhouse lead Spain Sergio Garcia had not missed a major since the 99 US Open and needed to make it through a playoff and sectional qualifying just to be at Congressional he was 2 under at the 11th where he had this long-range birdie attempt a little slow here isn't it it's very slow someone's not very slow Garcia moves to 3-under tied for the lead a bogey at the 14th moved him back to 2-under and then at the par-4 17th Garcia's drive went through the end of the fairway this is a pretty easy shot 149 yards just a nice 9-iron and this is after that non-iron beautiful non-aryan - about two feet this for birdie so Garcia to 3-under with a hole to play but a bogey at 18 left him with a final score of two under 69 twenty-six-year-old South African Charl Schwartzel is now a familiar face thanks to his breakthrough major victory at the Masters earlier this year after opening the back nine and one over par on the par-4 3rd Schwartzel had this long birdie to get back to even after birdies at five and six his inspired play continued at the par-3 7th Schwartzel made it three in a row and four in his last five holes he finished with a 68 26 year old American Dustin Johnson was the 54-hole leader at last year's US Open but as 82 in the final round dropped him to eight he part his first hole the 10th but quickly rented a trouble at the 11th hitting his drive into the hazard 212 yards now for a third uphill certainly into the wind as well to the right very thin that's gonna be trouble Johnson's last round of the US Open featured a triple bogey seven on his second hole of the final round he had this putt to avoid a repeat with that Johnson dropped to three over on his round he finished with a four over 75 his open chances largely gone at 41 Phil Mickelson has a record five runner-up finishes in the US Open would this be the year he captured his first victory phil Mickelson's pre championship approach to starting at the par-3 10th take the water out of play but in reality it was tougher than that a double-bogey five to start but it wasn't over for Mickelson two of the last three champions had made double on their very first hole Mickelson favored a strategy at Congressional that relied heavily on driving with a two iron but at the par-4 14th that strategy seemed to abandon him that was almost a shank Mickelson found his tee shot it eventually made bogey dropping back to +2 still a relying on his to iron he came to the par-4 17th in need of a good scoring opportunity seventy-seven to come to the fairway and that's all just a little weight now a hundred eighty-seven yards from the left rough it's just the kind of shot that could turn around phil Mickelson's day if he could manage to get that one in for Mickelson with a big birdie putt at 17 for three you would think gravity might pull that ball into the hole so Mickelson settled for par and made the turn at two over Phil Mickelson for a birdie over at two now is to get back to +1 he's gonna turn to his right about halfway through the pipe but two bogies coming in left Mickelson with a three over round of 74 22 year-old rory mcilroy had contended in each of the last three majors coming to congressional he started with pars on his first two holes but a good approach at the par-4 12th gave him this chance for birdie 1-under in the US Open but a Northern Irishman after four more pars McIlroy had this approach at 17 from 177 you get it would be another birdie try for McIlroy this has been an impressive eight holes he has played so far he missed one fairway missed one green got up and in his looked at burry every other hole maybe she goes away McIlroy 2-2 as he heads to the difficult 18th and at 18 he had this approach 192 that place 10 yards shorter 182 in reality and go with it leaving him another birdie try there's McIlroy with a chance to go birdie-birdie to close out his opening it took McEvoy just nine holes to tie for the lead at 3-under his quest for a major title continued on the front nine about to get back to even over at the first McIlroy put just inside right not give the hole away and so he takes the lead by himself for the first time three birdies in a row ten holes in 4-under par at the par-4 4th his precise play continued using the natural slope to feed the ball back to the hole that for his fit birdie and thirteen holes just a smidge downhill it's been up 5-under PAR a two-shot lead he finished six under par giving him the largest first-day lead in a US Open since 1976 three shots better than yang in Schwartzel Garcia Palmer who's Taisen and three others were four back McIlroy's countryman and defending champion McDowell led a group of eight at 1-under the second round began with storms forecast for an already soft golf course there would be two suspensions of play on the 437 yard par-4 17th Graham McDowell had this approach from the fairway lock the flag right out of the hole maybe that'll get his round turned around and the defender Grand McDowell for birdie it's a fine putter in this man he made so many clutch putts all through last year and there's way that took MacDowell to even after eight holes he shot 74 to finish 36 at 2 over Louie who stays in at +3 and reeling had this for his second on the par-5 16th put a swing on Dottie wonderful great balance great setup good shot HR as you would expect you would have that for Eagle he moved back to +1 finish the day with a 2 over 73 even for the championship Ryan Palmer found the wrong part of the 17th green with this approach he is gonna aim this punchers this green here 17 has three distinct different levels if you don't get it on the correct line the challenge Palmer's third birdie in a row carried into 3-under but on 18 his run of luck ran out water left water lawn and water right all posed a threat to strong on the wrong line Palmer would make double bogey six and finish two rounds at 1-under 32 year old American Matt Kuchar 'he's best finish in his 8th US Opens came last year where he tied for 6th he opened a congressional with a 1-over 72 after birdie in the 6-2 get to even this was his approach at the 8th he tapped that in to get to 1-under he came to his final hole the par-5 9th with another wedge from short range this his third it spins back and sets up yet another birdie try Kuchar for his third in four holes a second round 68 takes him to 2-under for the championship 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson has never cracked the top 40 and seven US Open tries at 1-under after an opening 71 he had this for Eagle at the par-5 6th Johnson to 3-under then at the short par-4 8th this is normally the bread and butter of Zach Johnson's game short-iron play that from 139 yards and Zach Johnson's good to have another chance for birdie the birdie would take Johnson to 4-under for the championship he finished with a 69 2-under at the halfway mark a winner for the first time on the PGA Tour in 2010 Robert Garrigus missed the cut in his two previous US Opens the 33 year old American had an opening round 70 now at 3-under he had this for par at 13 Geragos added another bogey at the 15 dropping to 1-under then at the 16th long hitting Robert Garrigus just in front of this par 5 and 2 Roberts the last man to lead the tour at driving distance and win a tournament since John Daly did 1995 so big hitters got some games now after that wonderful little pitch for Garrigus this for birdie he goes to 2-under where he would finish after his second straight 70 under par on each of the first two rounds at the US Open at the seventh early first round leader YE Yang was at 3-under and in second place this is tee shot at the uphill par 3 this could be good the birdie took yang to 4-under Minnie remained in second he was looking for his second birdie of the day at the par-5 9th good dog with that gang moved to 5-under after just 27 holes usually a tremendous score but this was proving to be an unconventional US Open yang lost a shot at the tough 11th now his approach at the par-4 12 read the middle of that fairway thinking to be a good the whole location for the style of shot he likes to play trying to get that stroke to par that he relinquished on 11 right back mission accomplished nice bounce back for yang back to 5-under after a bogey at 13 yang came to 16 at 4-under this is third shot at the par 5 with a short iron it sets up his fourth birdie of the round and with that yang returns to 5-under where he would finish rounds of 68 and 69 left him in second place and in the final pairing on Saturday Rory McIlroy picked up right where he left off in his first round this for birdie at the par-4 4th and he quickly moves to 7-under Phil Mickelson at the par-4 5th for birdie to try to keep inside 10 shots of McIlroy that moves into +2 ving ahead at the 6th another birdie try for Mickelson and now two plus one and making his way back toward even par but McIlroy who was forced to lay up on the par 5 showed his absolute command of his golf ball all week you would have that to go to 8-under and he pours it in the center projecting absolute calm at a mounting lead at the short par-4 8th he was in between clubs he chose the longer option a pitching wedge from 114 yards at first it appeared to be a bit too much but then on eagle 2 to 10-under just the fifth man to get to double digits in US Open history but the fastest just 26 holes on the same hole Mickelson had this approach nearly as good as McIlroy's but not quite he would make that putt to get to even returning to the par-3 10th we're Mickelson hit his opening tee shot in the water the day before 222 yard with a 5-iron slightly he's yelling forward to go this hit even his missus turned out okay he would make par from there still 10-under 240 after another perfect Drive McIlroy ready to go again yeah 184 not taking much time it's the ball way up in the air which is really unofficial in this type of shot that left to get to 11-under Mickelson also had a birdie chance at 14 after a bogey at 11 think overall it's gonna break a little bit from his right to left but not very much quite straight coming down through a little Swale for his first birdie of the day on the back nine so back to even par for the championship and 3-under today now McIlroy for his birdie straight down the hill the lowest anybody's ever been into the United States Open is 12-under par McIlroy with his second at the par-5 16 just a 4-iron it's launched another one way up in here Tiger Woods won at Pebble Beach in 2000 at 12-under Gill Morgan got to that number at Pebble in 92 now McIlroy with an eagle putt to get to 13-under if you knock this one in to get the lowest score ever you'd have to settle for tying the record at 12-under just the third person ever at 16 Mickelson had this birdie putt this would get him 1-under for the championship and middle yesterday's round you'd have bet a lot of money that wouldn't be happening today McLeroy is brushed with the record books on 16 gave him a chance to hold the low mark by himself on 17 here's his approach from 178 girl likes it though what do you mean so-so that's how dial in he is the putt to get to 13-under not a lot in this one lost it a little bit left neckla at 13-under 7 under on his round after a loose tee shot left of the fairway at 18 Mickelson faced this risky play back to the green a familiar sight the longtime followers of Phil this is that was a foot from being incredible also missing the 18th fairway to the left was McIlroy who with the birdie could shoot 63 this hunter trying to sit this ball off to the right portion the dream he's got a really good lie this balls headed left a similar result and the first error of the US Open for McIlroy who had not made a bogey to that point Mickelson after marching back to 1-under had this to save bogey it would be a double for Phil one over through 36 McLeroy with his plot for Boca and if this is a huge cut from a psychological standpoint you can make this bogey get off of this feeling a lot more power dropping yet another another double at the 18th for the group McIlroy's first blemish of the championship he finishes with a 66 and despite his obvious disgust the 36-hole record in the US Open at 131 he'll begin the weekend 11 under six shots clear of YE Yang McIlroy's lead tied the record established by Tiger Woods in the 2000 open at Pebble five others were tied at -2 in all a staggering total of 14 golfers finished better than par at the midway point of the championship soft conditions persisted a congressional on Saturday where a record 26 players shot under par in the third round Phil Mickelson got to even par in his third round but struggled on the back nine Mickelson for a bogey 5 16 now double 17 he shot 77 and finished at +7 Graham McDowell at the 9th for Eagle putting down the hill pretty quick it's looking pretty good if he keeps breaking so pretty eagle McDowell is gone in the last two holes and back to even par then at the 14th grand McDowell for his birdie that Eagle on nine that gets him back to red figures at 1m he finished with a 69 even for the championship Kevin Chappell the 2008 NCAA champion open 76 67 and was at +1 Kevin Chappell over at the par-4 fit coming off a bogey at four he's at plus one 413 yard just spin it it in there right in the frontage it's gonna be another birdie two out of the last three holes he made that putt to get to even to 16th the 24 year old rookie on the PGA Tour Kevin Chappell playing in his first US Open that for an eagle 3 he finished with a 69 1 under for the championship 36 year old Fredrik Jacobson finished tied for 5th at the 2003 US Open he opens 74 69 now at 2-under at the night every day so far this is for his fourth birdie on the front nine three out of four to end it so he's out he 3-under over to 10 Jakub s'en for birdie this is not a lot of break just was a little left the first half and straightens up he can make this Jakob said with five birdies in 10 holes 2:11 jakob s'en lengthy putt for birdie up and over the ridge down the slope moving to the right Oh six birdies now in his first 11 holes he finished with a 66 4 under for the championship over to six that Kuchar going for the green in two and he doesn't like the strike sound like a head cover yeah he would make bogey there dropping to 2-under but Kuchar came to 16 3-under this for birdie he finished with 69 4 under for the championship at 11 Sergio Garcia from just off the green for par to remain at 1-under Hills swinging to the left at 15 his second shot from the rough after a wayward first electing to play under the tree and chase the ball up plain as though the light city by esteros had some influence on that shot for birdie for Garcia 15 this would be the greatest birdie of the championship right here from where he was about would be is Garcia to 4-under he finished for the 69 or under for the championship Robert Garrigus at 2-under for birdie at the 4th with a 28-inch putter his distinctive style stood out at Congressional but it works to 3-under at 15 Garrigus now at 4-under just 180 yards up the hill no wind at all right now are we just a good 7-iron our deeper really doesn't mean too much this Center gives it a good saying yeah that birdie got Garrigus to 5-under where he finished after a 68 under par in each of the first three rounds 23-year old Australian Jason Day opened with rounds of 71 and 72 at 2-under at the 10th for birdie four birdies in the last five holes and we'll move ahead to 16th Jason Day with this lengthy putt for a birdie for a currently at 3-under par well that's his fifth birdie of the day against no bogeys then another birdie chance at 18 this for a 65 the 65 got into 5-under through three rounds Lee Westwood had even par for birdie at 13 just handing it down in there beautiful read nicely read and stroked third pretty the day after Westwood moves into red figures of 1-under at 15 Lee Westwood has come so close and multiple major tries he would make that for his third straight birdie 2 under for Westwood after reaching the 16th and 2 for Eagle left-to-right break here mark it is looks good looks good 500 a four-hole stretch he closed with a 65 5 under for the championship YE Yang 2 under on the 14th hole from 178 buta state stay there yang now for birdie from about 10 feet Roger just straight up the hill and he was at 5-under on 16 from 266 with a second have to chase anomalies and is it a pretty solid pretty good it's the closest we've seen any waiting to today at 16 you can hit a fuckin couldn't do that again yang for Eagle at Kennedy he would tap in and finish with a seventy six under par his third straight subpar round leader Rory McIlroy was out of position at the third this his third shot this would be a confidence booster if he can get this up and in he would save his par to stay at 11-under but in trouble again at the poor still think this is a doable bunker shot jam another par say the next this for a chance for McIlroy to increase the lead ROG looks good to 12-under par after a birdie at 9 and bogey at 10 McIlroy with a birdie chance at 11 try to be a little careful with the pace here shit move pretty hard to the right mcelroy to 13-under on 14 from 181 in the fairway perfect balance staring it down MacAvoy with a chance to get to 14-under that's in that's in no problem thank you very much first to reach 14-under working in a US Open on 218 for birdie to get to 15 under so it's gonna be a third round 68-54 whole total of $1.99 and Rory eraseed everything that happened with just 18 holes remaining McAvoy led gang by 8 and 9 over day in Westwood who both shot 65 Saturday as the final round began there were two big questions how low could rory mcilroy go and if nobody could catch him who was playing for second Phil Mickelson was long out of contention and his 18th hole Sunday pretty much typify his week he closed with a double bogey at the last and finished +7 for the championship tied for 54 defending champion Graeme McDowell for a 69 2 under for the championship we finished tied for 14th he stuck around for what he hoped would be another Northern Irish celebration end of the fit training British Open champion Louis daisen with his second doesn't seem don't like it but then what's good now that would take him to 2-under whose Taisen for par at 18 a 67 on the day he finished tied for ninth at 4-under over to the fifth Masters winner Charl Schwartzel with his second he converted that birdie to get back to even seven where we have Charl Schwartzel for birdie to 1-under over at the 10th Masters champion Schwartzel with a 5-iron that posture straight the back is almost if anything too straight he won the Masters in April he was the man the next guy that was gonna run from the table is he gonna catch that slope and come right down stiff I think so who knows my co and ace it is at the end the beautiful tee shot left him a simple tap in for birdie Schwartzel 2 - 2 / - 2 Sergio's second here at the par 3 not an easy shot well below his feet Garcia save par to stay at 4-under lee westwood add the first and the group ahead of McElroy needs to get off to a good start what does he do his loaded down about five feet so that was a good Frank right there so the birdie attempt for Westwood knows he's got to get out of the gates so far so good Westwood to 6-under two - Fredrik Jacobson chance for a birdie this guy is putted the lights out Johnny second in the field in total putts through three rounds that's why 5-under for Jakub s'en McIlroy is opening tee shot found the fairway this is from 117 perfect lie right on the edge of a divot but it was like it was teed up this'll really spend mcelroy to get to 15-under on his first hole and there was never a doubt Jason Day 2nd at the 2nd he saves par to stay at 2-under McElroy from 1:22 at the four imagine this might be it's a great feet right of the hole he has everything that's just right of the hole drawing toward this she's been McIlroy for birdie continues with another birdie push up to 16 ten shots Sweden's Peter Hansen was lurking throughout the championship 1-under through three rounds here at the 10th with a 5-iron his right front hole location little baller like that way that to go to 4 under on the day 10 Hansen for his birdie right edger no problem yesterday he's brooding for the first time today moving up the board with 13 Schwartzel laughs for birdie so three under five the third four-day opening up that face again Myrtle's cut across shot there that was dead confidence and house doesn't in elekid shot there so that's gonna save days par he's gonna remain at 5-under at the 10th they like it Kevin Chappell trying to keep his good streak alive here he's got time I go in three birdies in the last four holes and this one came back down Chappell would convert to get to 4-under McIlroy to save par at five see if he can make it show us something he stays at 16-under Lee Westwood's second at the 6th needed to be aggressive from 231 yards but his second time in the water on six for the week another bogey drops him to minus five no the leaders are making a charge Gary McElroy flirting with disaster at six this needs to go again even as mrs. 4 okay as he would settle for par Freddie Jakob sinned at the 8th using the slope to his advantage on the easiest par 4 and a decade at a US Open Jakob s'en looking to move to 7-under the Taeyang for second but at 12 for par from short range then for bogey for putt for Jakob sim he shot 73 and finished at -2 tied for 14 at the 6th yang for birdie settled under par at the 9th Sergio Garcia with his third from 147 a birdie to get to 5-under it's good stroke yeah that was a nice fighting stroke there with that strange right hand drip at 17 Schwartzel second location today Johnny we talked about it front right so much easier than yesterday when it was in the back right look at this Schwartzel will reach 5-under par for the day at 18 to save par and finish at 4-under 66 tied for ninth for the Masters champion on 13 Kevin Chappell for birdie it's a long front it looks good chapel to 5-under at the ninth Westwood for his second birdie of the day and he was at 6-under bang for birdie at 9 yes eight under under the US Open it's like man I am there Raj but eight chats behind the leader McElroy at the tenth before a crowd of thousands looking on Jason Day with a 5-iron like that bird that pretty much sums it up birdies at Congressional right there now for his birdie and this is a good place to be bunting from - now yep Davers at the seven other solo third now yang at the 10th flush depict the rise solid strike it's just left of the hole McIlroy begins his final nine strikes seem good look at them Malloy's a good-looking shot too if the distance is right are you everybody might just get everybody just smile they're enjoying it I mean it's really something to see you are a scene potential of super super superstar the making more records fell for McIlroy exercising the ghosts of Augusta and the temple he joked later about playing congressionals 10th hole 5 shots better the lowest ever under par in the US Open gang with this putt to match McIlroy at 10 this is not the easiest putt in the world has only about three or four feet but it's really quick and got to just touch it yep he goes tonight under nearly double digits on 12 Garcia's third from off the green I get served you go to 5-under and just for back of the second flight leader ye Inge with a Sunday 70 he finished tied for fifth at 5-under his third top five in the US Open over at 11 Jason Day has gone 37 consecutive holes without a bogey another good par gang's approach at eleven from 230 yards this ball peeling right though this is going to be wet he would make bogey to drop to 8-under at 16 Peter Hanson for Eagle looks good looks good Peter Hanson to 6-under par for the day Manson finished with a 67 5-under in tied for 7th McIlroy to save par at 12 just his third hole over par for the week back to 16-under at 15 yang in trouble off the tee - seven of this Hill John readers can't see the surface of the green stuff shot it would result in a bogey dropping him to 7-under 16 Jason Day this to move to 8 under par into second place so man who finished tied for second at the Masters in second place at the US Open ahead of 17 Robert Garrigus playing his second shot he's at 5-under par even for the day out yeah but a nice comeback for him John he was all the way back to 2-under par actually birdie 3 out of his last four holes potentially Garrigus and see if he can this put in to get to 6-under that would move him into a tie with the Denon Chapel for a score by an American player and he does yeah it's 16 with his third from 175 also at sixteen McElroy's third missile wedge this is right at it too just that down yang's birdie try it can work to the left ever so slightly it's not a hard putt no it's not it's inside the hole just go ahead keep it in the right center sit firmly you would finish with a 71 6-under tied for third now McIlroy after missing his par putt at 17 McIlroy for bogey this is the first negative stat that we can put up this would be his first three putt of the championship I wouldn't tell you one three five the usf in a fat staff at 18 Robert Garrigus with a par putt to shoot 70 and finish tied for third low American right Kevin Chappell 6 under this tithe at 6 under par for Geragos it's pretty good that's the really great you see lee westwood at 6-under from the bunker at 18 with his third just pointed down the slope without a touch Westwood whoo celebration of the grant award a final round 70 tied for third at 6-under this putt to finish the US Open with forty five consecutive bogey-free holes Jason Day a 68 to finished second at 8-under just 23 years old in his first US Open it was Jerry McElroy above all to enjoyed his son's march down the 18th and his Rory soaked up the cheers he scanned the crowd for his father and there is Jerry right on the spot a man who sacrificed so his son could achieve great things joining the McIlroy's was good friend Graham McDowell looking to celebrate second u.s. open for his country but first McIlroy's third and 18 there must be 15,000 Briard around his amphitheater over at the 10th hillside they're all standing on their feet grant given Rory's data and his dad just said how about that back to back for us now for his par mm United States Open champion McIlroy celebrates his victory with the same cool demeanor with what she took apart the field and the record books at Congressional among the record set by McIlroy Lowe a total in an open tomb 68 breaking the record held by Tiger Woods Jack Nicklaus and two others at 272 16 under par again by four shots over Tiger Woods simply a stunning scoring performance he wins by 8 shots Jason Day with a second straight runner-up finish in a major was also joined at 8-under by low American Kevin Chappell Schwartzel a news Taisen winners of two of the last three majors again performed well ladies and gentlemen my name is Jim hi Laura I'm the president the United States Golf Association please join me in welcoming a 111th to USA --then champion Rory McIlroy Bob Costas spoke with a new champion you said we're tied 12 records can you play any better than this I could have held a couple more putts today you know Augusta was a very valuable experience for me I knew what I needed to do today to win and Augusta I learned a few things about myself and about my game near ace at 10 that would have been sweet you know that was the the point in the room that I really felt that you know it was mine to lose then even though I went by with a big lead but after making two there and one of the most difficult holes on the golf course I knew I
