homestead rick crawford has won in what could be labeled a cinderella victory time's been ticking 120 races i'm rick crawford it's rick crawford making the pass and crawford wins the daytona 250 winner of the florida dodge dealers 250. that was one month ago today it's darlington [Music] [Music] it is the nascar craftsman truck series free race show here on speed sponsored by craftsman today the story has to be weather we had problems with it yesterday weren't able to get qualifying in and today you see the temperature 55 degrees humidity 54 percent winds right in their face on the front stretch 10 miles an hour and the bottom one there overcast potential for rain but we hope that we don't ever have to look at that and we hope that we have a great afternoon for racing hello everyone i'm rick allen and joining me in the booth to call all of the nascar craftsman truck series races are the man who turns the wrenches barry dodson the man who turns the wheel dorsey schroeder and dorsey the mindset of these drivers has to be a difficult thing for them to get in place with the start of this season how it works well it's been four weeks from daytona depends on who you are me i want to be rick crawford why i just won the super bowl the daytona 250. so all my friends were saying how great i am i love that program i wouldn't want to be david's star i'd start my truck i'm not bothering anybody wham i'm wrecked you know i got to think about four weeks what i coulda shoulda what about being a rookie bear this would be tough if you're carl edwards starting a second truck for jack roush racing and he's never seen darlington and this is a lady in black well i'll tell you what if you think we're not gonna have excitement we're going to pick up right where we left off of daytona folks this is darlington it's got a unique design of its own it's egg-shaped for a rookie like carl edwards we'll see how he does he has to finish today he has to race the racetrack it's sand sea shells and rocks that's it there is no pavement and we take a look at the ford top 10 in the point standing so far we have rick crawford who of course won at daytona 185 points for leading uh the lap uh and obviously leaving the most important lap at the very end travis quaffle sitting second as they had the three wide coming across the finish line there with robert fleshly on the outside yeah he you know he he was the beneficiary of the 16 ride but he backed that up with a great run at daytona and it came to pass here points wise he gets to throw on the pole you see the veteran bobby hamilton there sitting in fourth in the number four truck andy houston in the number 15 picked up a new sponsor just recently with nelly in the vocal clothing department and so he sits fifth in the point standings mike wallace uh finishing sixth in the daytona race won't be in this one today dennis setzer always a contender he's a he's very chassis savvy look for this guy to have a good truck today terry cook great run of daytona john wood right in the thick of things and brendan gone with some new colors yeah brendan gone uh bringing on a new sponsor as well in the waterloo tool company and so uh you know some different things taking place here uh some exciting things going on again as we get ready for this one the craftsman 200 but the the guys are already in their trucks we've already got the excitement taking place as uh we're about to get underway with our craftsman 200 we've moved it up a little bit to make sure that we don't get nixed out by the weather i'll tell you what that mascot whatever it was dorsey is in for a ride better hold on and let's head down to trackside now for the most important words in auto racing words and motorsports please welcome our grand about to get underway with the craftsman 200 at the track too tough to tame we'll see if some of these tough trucks and tough drivers can take a chance at taming darlington now we take a look at the us army's starting grid and again this grid being put together because of the owner points from last year we haven't had four races under our belt yet so we go by owner's points because we weren't able to get qualifying in yesterday travis quapple on the pole rick crawford the daytona winner on the outside of human row one in row two ted musgrave the defending champion at this track and jason lefler the ultra motorsports making up row number in row three david starr on the inside and dennis setzer on the outside of him david starr fast third fastest in practice yesterday well before you see uh chad chapman there next to terry cook from chevrolet and we have john wood and brendan gone bringing up the fifth row jody lavender alongside andy houston there's a good row there we got matt crafton there is bobby hamilton in his dodge we'll be watching him all day he'll be fast no doubt about it throw eight bill lester looking for his first win and randy renfer bobby dodder and randy mcdonald coming up right behind those guys got jerry hill and phil bonafield randy's sister terry mcdonald signed up for rookie here today and dana white [Music] stan boyd veteran morgan shepard let's check out this next row coming up folks here's some smoke kevin harvick robert presley why is robert not up front he had points last year different truck number row 14. you've got doug keller on the outside there lw miller on the inside jeffrey beaudine will start on the inside of row 15. and tina gordon it's her 34th birthday today i'm not sure if i was supposed to say third and fourth happy birthday carl edwards rookie on the inside and randy briggs also rookie on the outside both running for ray besto's rookie of the year honors brian rose and joe verdig start in row 17 and let's head down to the pits and ray dunlap well rick keep in mind throughout the course of this weekend these teams had five sets of tires now everybody would like to have sticker tires all the time here at darlington but today they'll only have four sets one is on the truck right now and three of them back here in the pits but i'm in bill lester's pit right now and look at this set right here this is a set of scuff tires these tires actually have 20 laps on them because bill needed extra practice now there's a couple guys out there like ted musgrave bobby hamilton jason leffler and travis quaffle that have four sets of sticker tires and sticker tires are the magic at darlington right phil parsons great you're exactly right a few years ago in the bush race here we had run about 20 laps after the start of the race the caution came out i came in and put four of these brand new sticker goodyear tires and in about 40 laps i was leading the race all the way from the back there's no substitute and you can as a driver you can have no more fun than having better tires than everybody else at darlington this is awesome racetrack when the nascar craftsman truck series comes here we put on a heck of a race for the fans and uh you know it's it's unbelievable every everything i've ever heard about it the track too tough to tame the lady in black it's that and more well the stars are ready to shine here at darlington bobby hamilton will lead them off of turn two terry cook wins the ram tough two hundred ten musgrave all by himself out front john wood is the new man up front jason leffler tries to pull out butler down to the inside rick robert comes by three wide at the line rick crawford here comes travis quaffle travis davis star fights back on the outside the setzer wins the federated auto parts two fifth brendan takes off welcome back to darlington raceway for race number two for the nascar craftsman truck series and here is the craftsman track description going to this track this oval shaped track 1.366 miles the banking in turns one and two 25 degrees turns three and four is 23 degrees and the straights six degrees now the front stretch 1228 feet and excuse me the back stretches that way then the front stretch one foot longer at 1229 feet and you see them all in line as they are parading down the back stretch right now and dorsey we've got to be extremely excited as we take a look at the onboards this is kevin harvick that we're on board he's starting in the 25th position we're also going to be on board with bill lester in the number eight and picking up the honey nut cheerios associate sponsor there the square d dodge of bobby hamilton will be riding inside the truck with him [Music] as well as inside the navy number 50 of john wood [Music] and we have the power stroke diesel number 29 of terry cook starts in the eighth position starting a little closer to the front the 46 of dennis sensor we're on board with jason leffler there in the ase dodge move the wall back from a degree it's coming up here the flank flies and we're under underway with the craftsman 200. these guys only had one practice session so they don't know what they have we're already touching in the front row mary as uh right there kloppel created some paint well you're gonna see dorsey because of the way the points unfolded here we got some trucks up front that aren't quite as quick and this is really a one groove racetrack unless you have a great handling truck saw a bunch of sparks come out of the truck right there just probably because the air pressure isn't up yet air pressure's not up yet everything's dragging sway bar arms tail pipes you name it garlic is a rough racetrack big bumps there and you can get in trouble whoa look at that loose come on those sideways look like kevin harvick who'd have thought these guys in the back were really fast they're not wasting any time they got the hammer down trying to get up here quick well you got your veterans back there they know they have to utilize these sticker tires use them up while they can try to get to the front now this race is only 147 laps huge diversity in the amount of laps around here from a guy like bobby hamilton and guys like we're talking about carl edwards saw the place for the first time just the other day actually carl edwards first time around this track was in a car i would probably be wishing he was in a car right about now atv i'm telling you this place will jump up and bite you before you know it travis quaffle continues to lead running just over or just under 31 seconds for lap times right now but that's going to change considerably with these the tire conditions in the track oh they're going to slow down up to it with traffic uh worse than they do the cup cars do it rocking him jerry cook right here on the move look there's two fast trucks right there on the other side of bobby hamilton they're going to run to the front for sure in front of them and brendan gone yeah what i was saying dorsey over tire run these guys are looking at almost three seconds slowing down when they get in traffic whoa it's down on the apron you see that oh yeah bobby dribble right down the flat there upset the truck a little bit somebody on the rev limiter do you hear that somebody's pulling a lot of gear when you hear that sound brendan gone and bobby hamilton flying by us there well you wouldn't want to be on the rev limiter this early in the game would you maybe these guys are thinking half of a day though with the sticker tire dorsey you're only going to hit it for two or three laps and it's going to go away you'll be so slow bobby hamilton we saw running probably the best line in practice yesterday he's very very good here and he's moving up quickly uh he knows how to utilize this racetrack let me tell you something this truck is brand new it's got 15 laps on it i had to pick up all the things i had to get here the one i'd want most is experience around this place because that's what's going to pay off today how about the oldest truck you had yeah that too some of these trucks are brand new right there jerry cook a little wiggle them right in the middle john wood underneath them got a good run going john was very aggressive yesterday in practice even on old tires had a good run this kid needs to be patient here race the racetrack i'm sure his dad eddie wood is telling him that right now see out in front terry cook there then picking up a major associate sponsor an oil mate for this track or for the rest of this season so power stroke diesel and oil mate on number 29 terry cook now this kid's willing to get by him too yeah he's muscling pretty hard he's working him real hard on the bottom right now now one thing that the experienced guys will do here is they won't run their tires off barry and you see what john wood's trying to run the bottom that's putting a lot of wear in those tires he's going to use them up door see he's thinking well this is the shortest way around but you're getting some a lot of lateral bite lateral grip and it just chews these tires off like we said in the pre-race seashell sand and rocks no pavement and terry cook's truck is really loose you see that thing wagging the tail coming off every one of these tracks if you need to take care of the tires as we talk about cherry cook let's head down to the fence and rain well guys lots of people on the radio already talking about chassis adjustments for later terry cook one of those he just came on the radio and said guys i'm way wicked loose i want to go down on the track bar on that first stop and it's only lap seven let's check in with phil a lot of chatter on the radio before the race started about weather we talked about threatening weather in the area a lot of these guys were thinking maybe this race may only go halfway but i'll tell you i looked at the weather right before the race and i think we're going to get the whole thing in but these guys are in a hurry back upstairs i tell you who's in a hurry right now he's right behind travis quaffle yeah mushroom you're not kidding he's coming on you see him come on yeah you see who's behind him too this is going to be a great view jason leffler's got a camera here we've got the ultra motorsports teammates coming on musgrave is tough won it last year with one fender on the front here comes kevin harvick and the number six on the inside you knew he was coming for sure from the back he's coming with a lot of head of steam coming on right now going under john wood he'll get him down here kevin harvick making his way from 25th to 12th already in this one he is utilizing the sticker tires but i guarantee you they're halfway gone right now the best thing that happened was when's the cup qualifying bush practice this morning to lay down some rubber for these trucks right side by side with the 50 behind you see john wood was smart he backed out let him go right there it wasn't going to contest any further look what he does stacked everybody up behind him now yeah that's that's kate kaslowski she knows how aggressive harvick is and she's saying she's wanting terry to know who it is here he comes and how quick he got there right you want to know that too if you've got somebody like kevin harvard coming he's chomping down the bit like that no need to mess with him right now you try to run him you just wear yourself out where the tire's out you won't get anywhere with a gun you see the race for the lead right there ted musgrave on the inside travis quaffle on the outside as they work their way they almost touch right there and they laughing they're already making laps he gave it to him let's see if he makes room for jason that's a good place for jason to pass here this is a great place if he can make it made quaffle get out of the throttle you see what happened much great open the hole well guess what two dodgers teammates in the front dodge just won every one of the races here in the craftsman truck series maybe telling you something and the ultra motor sports duo now one and two ted musgrave out in front jason leffler right behind him so ultra motor sports works as a team to lead the craftsman 200. we'll be back right after this welcome back to darlington south carolina and the darlington raceway we're underway with race number two of the season the craftsman 200 right here on speed and we take a look at your leader that is the number one of ted musgrave and of course the defending champion in this race so he's got a lot of experience running up front no surprise rick crawford last week's winner those are lap trucks already you see right there all w miller getting passed by crawford and behind crawford is i believe travis klopp yes see crawford's got a good truck i watched him yesterday he was able to get by waffle and he will be a factor here a lot of these guys already the veterans you're seeing moving up to the front it's almost the cream rising to the top they're also moving up to the wall it turns three and four you have to start diamonding the racetrack because you're losing grip you try to run around in an arc here's uh tina gordon looks like a flat left front tire i'm not sure i think you're right look at that i saw her two smoking a little bit i think she's cut down the left front she's just trying to learn around here that's not that's not the way to do it no she's going to come in here catch her breath while she gets this tired that's right not a good night very good okay we talked about it rockford working on jason leffler lefler bottomed out pretty good you see things skated up the racetrack truck went right up there battle for second right there crawford's strong man he's coming i don't care if i use my stickers i want to get to the front i won daytona rick crawford running very well let's head back down to the pits and ray well rick the truck that rick crawford is driving today is chassis number cb4 they used it an awful lot last year including four times they finished a fourth place finish with this truck but that's the best they were able to do they did not run this truck a year ago at darlington i asked rick why'd they bring it back here he said because over the winter these guys have made all our trucks better and we think cb4 is going to be able to win today here at the track two tough to tame right now crawford trying to tame jason lefler as he has his sights set on the number two and holding on to the third position as travis waffles dropped back to fourth crawford stream's got that momentum too winning that daytona was a big shot and arm for that team they really needed that oh yeah and he you know he's going to be strong here we're back to the three-inch air hoses we didn't we're not the two inchers we had everybody's got equal spoiler so rick crawford's got a better balanced truck than he had at daytona and he's showing it right now he's strong we're only 20 laps in jason lefler still holding off rick crawford is crawford now working as hard as he is right now is he hurting himself no because what he's done dorsey you can explain this as a driver you see he's putting the heat on jason jason got a little sideways now he's caught him he's rich moved up following jason cool in the tires what he's trying to do right now he's put the pressure on see if he can't make jason mess his truck up more it looks like he is you see him get right there musgrave just pulling out bigger and bigger lead all the time but if you saw right there left legs that came out the front wagon tail almost got the stripe yeah jason's looking in the mirror right now he's not looking at my screen muskrat i mean he's not looking at musgrave but crawford is looking at muskrat this is a great race musgrave with a great lead already over three seconds you saw in the graphic there look at the race back here andy just in there in the number 15 and robert presley making his pass in the number 59. setzer just blew a motor guys right in front of us while that was all going on you're right with him right now oil pressure it had all pressure right there maybe something else uh dorsey no smoke he's got oil pressure could a distributor maybe or something bad but the boss did not change it he broke something maybe in the motorbike he said he just changed electric boxes that's what we're talking about last week daytona there's two electronic ignition systems in these trucks when they shut down you go from the one you're on on to the other one usually fixes it didn't fix this time with more on the 46 let's head down to phil parsons they're standing here in their pits and they said they don't know exactly what happened i think they're going to pull it behind the wall you heard dennis say that he changed ignition systems that did not fix the truck he had oil pressure so it wasn't something in the bottom end of the engine but unfortunately it looks like it may be terminal right now for dennis setzer in the axiom chevrolet we stayed green nascar was checking and turns one and two to make sure there wasn't any oil or fluid in there and they say that all is clear yeah when it's lost all fire like this it's like maybe something we're talking about dorsey a distributor's broken or a camshaft it cannot run it cannot fire if that is the culprit he'll be done for the day and this is a big race we've had one race at daytona if you got behind a little bit in points the second race here is a great time to make them up get back into battle dennis setzer made it into the pit so our track is green as we see ted musgrave still holding on to the number one spot we head to brent rick crawford right there in second jason lefleur in third you brought 12 this time what was the decision last year we were here with the 2002 that didn't have the new updated lower half nose so this truck is as good as that truck is but i don't think it's quite as good as a 2002 for the wind tunnel numbers we've seen nascar is going to take these six trucks to the wind tunnel and trying to compare them they've got uh 2002 and a 2003 chevrolet so it'll give them some good data and see if we if we need a little help here but as far as on the racetrack it didn't seem like it was that bad a piece i mean everything seemed as good as it was going to be compared to what we had a year ago or even what we raced late last year welcome back to the craftsman 200 here at darlington raceway for the nascar craftsman truck series second event and we take a look at your leader there ted musgrave still holding on to the lead guy that's been making a lot of moves so far has been rookie carl edwards well yeah this kid we talked about uh in the opening good good happy hour was very very short he's already up to what 12th 13th place dorsey 12. he's doing really good i was talking with him we went over and we're talking with jeff burton of course a roush team driver and he was at oh real loose loose that's what i'd say you gotta race the racetrack let's make those tires now what he was talking about burton about was he said jeff on one end of this race track i'm really really fast but on the other end i'm really really loose jeff burton told me why i'm trying to be smart but he said drive the fast end of the racetrack fast and slow up or lose it and he was telling that because if you change if you try to make an adjustment to the one hand you'll mess up the other one yeah the fast end would be turn one and two oh what a battle right here look at this bobby hamilton brand new truck travis yeah look at this it's a battle for third with about four different trucks really hammering on each other bobby dropped that thing he dropped that left front on the apron d weighs it a little bit shot him up gave him a little just enough momentum to get by quaffle bobby hamilton takes over the number three spot there dorsey we were talking about the fast part of the racetrack i think you would agree that would be turn one and two it's much wider a lot more banking you have to diamond three and four we got a caution we got a call coming out listen boys when he comes in if we need defender pull look at david star after that reckon day time but look at the right side he's got a big tire mark down the right side got the donut the back of the truck is tore up but that right there is not going to really hurt it all that much we got debris off the back of that truck and turn one that's what the caution's for if the tow is not knocked out and that means the alignment of the front tires this will be the right front will be the indicator they'll get the left side tire straight with the string see what the right front looks like if the toe is okay if that right front's alignment the sheet metal won't matter here actually the tail piece being gone is gonna be a plus form here's the caution this debris turn one and if when we see the side of his truck we'll see a big donut which means he didn't get the darlington stripe but he uh he got into another truck side by side i don't know what would have ripped off that back balance back there though yes let's take a look at the replay here and if you look up high in your screen way up high they just hit the wall back here in the very back part of your screen yep and you see the debris flying oh you know what he wasn't the only one to hit the wall he didn't hit it nearly as hard as that second truck right there the yellow let's head down to the pits and phil parsons gonna watch bobby hamilton coming if it's a little bit tight off the corner new moore said they're gonna go up a little air pressure on the rear to try to free this thing up off the corner truck's doing really really well he's trying to take care of the tires gonna go four tires team marine spitting it bobby hamilton junior's bush pit crew four tires a little up a little up under air pressure not a right no chassis change for the number one truck these guys say the truck is really good brand new tire changer on the rear that's keith plaza these guys been practicing every day rick crawford on the bottom there you see these guys with their four tires done but musgrave is going to beat the 14 out musgrave will be the first off pit road then crawford then a great stop for harvick he'll go to third position the big loser here looks to be jason leffer harvick's guys probably the same i don't know for sure if the same guy is helping out from the cup side or not but that was a good good good stuff pretty good practice if it is yeah it sure enough was kevin harvick just came off the track for winston cup qualifying just minutes before we were able to get underway with our ranks here so he has some experience on this track already today [Music] and as we are under caution number one we will head off to break for just a few moments and be back with more excitement action and this is a look back at how we got into caution number one david was trying to pass a 89 truck and he just kind of got in there a little early wasn't quite up as far as it should have been probably but they got together a little bit and then 89 tore the back bumper off and everything was fine we decided it was time to make a pit stop we came out and made a pit stop and we got tagged for speeding on pit road exiting that put us at the tail end of the longest line so it was a big hole to dig out of from there and then green flag stopped it stalled on pit road that put us a lap down and it's just been a hole to dig out of all day but all in all considering daytona i guess i better keep looking up i mean because daytona was kind of as low as you can get so to come out of this ninth compared to what what it looked like earlier in the day why i'm not gonna complain about it we had a pretty good truck at the end and uh actually had a pretty good truck all day we just had a whole dig out of i mean you're going to turn three you're trying to catch the guy in front of it you know and the truck's just sliding and sliding then it takes a set there's a little bit of asphalt up there by the wall that gives the grip you know and once you right-side tires hit that little bit of asphalt and it takes a set you think you hit the wall you know but you don't it's just the right side tires getting some grip welcome back to the nascar craftsman truck series craftsman 200 right here at the darlington raceway and we're under caution number one and that is because again a problem with david starr we take a look back at why we got into this caution and we're on board i believe with kevin harvick take a watch right here david's cars he comes down now he's going to drive down he already did it he went down and hit the apron and shot him up the apron focuses this part down here it has no banking it's flat he drove both wheels down there when he did that it de-wedged the car it shot him up the hill and he t-boned the yellow truck wasn't the yellow trucks followed off and put the both of them up in the wall unlike we saw bobby hamilton he just dipped the left front off to make the thing turn when you get both sides off that's what you call a doubler actually he's lucky that truck was there he could the damage would have been much more severe david stark but we're talking about two tough runs here early to a guy that won a race last year exactly and you see stan boyd there and the number 89 was uh involved in that i guess catching you see the donut where he hit it right there in the door just a little bit move right there but that's what put them both up in the wall but you're right if david starr hadn't had the 89 to lean on he'd hit that concrete that would not have been good and boys we're going green problems with the 75 hopefully not too extensive let's find out more from phil 75 chuck if david star was a little bit too tight in the center of the corner he raised the track bar the problems continued though he was speeding at the exit of pit road that's why he saw him go all the way back to the tail on the line also the 18 truck is recording his engine chad chapman in the 18. that could be very very i guess disheartening news for bobby hamilton well with an engine miss he'll do the same thing as if it died he'll go back to that other ignition box if that doesn't work you know he'll uh he'll radio back to his crew guy hey it's tonight they'll probably look for a spark plug wire barrier or something like that if they uh they have to come in they will it's not a bad thing if you're on old tires you can actually run some pretty good laps here at darlington because you can't use the power i tell you what these restarts are pretty hairy kevin harvick here he comes here comes making the pass now for the lead kevin harvick with a very very impressive pit stop moved him up into second he just made the pass and kevin harvick now is your leader let's head down to ray guys kevin harvick says this truck is the best that he's ever had at darlington now when you look at his statistics keep in mind he has not been that great at this racetrack when we look at his winston cup stats here at this track harvick has four starts a best finish of third which is pretty good but only one top five he says today he's got a top five and hopefully a win what put him up there is that pit stop they made a fantastic pit stop he was coming anyway but that pit stop put him right within striking distance it didn't take him long yeah these these guys can get four tires any stop and they're seeing what's happening in other series just how crucial how vital how big pit stops are now we'll see the question really become how hard can he run for how long before that truck falls off how about this battle here for seventh and eighth now jason had a bad pit stop he was a victim of a bad stop he got very fast trump but so does john wood these guys been mixing up since lap one and the pit stop didn't break them apart either didn't since last year yeah since last year now guys john wood driving for rick for roush racing do these guys did they go over everything and say okay we don't have any motor problems like they had a couple weeks back with the roush racing stables it's a different animal actually we are here at sea level which is very very critical for a cub car meaning there's more oxygen in the air and you're likely to burn a piston these things don't have any air with a 390 cfm carburetor that's cubic feet per minute flowing through it so they're we're talking about two different beasts here and these trucks are beast we're on board right now with jason lefler again a great race between himself and john wood john's got his hands full but i'm telling you i watched his kid the whole hour yesterday and he drove every lap like he had sticker tire jason's trying to set him up right here right dorsey yeah and you got a good look looking like that out of jason and looking at the back of john's truck you see how rough darlington is you see that suspension working in the back of that truck going up and down two three inches right as we talk about the number 50 of john wood let's head down to ray in the fence well guys i talked to his crew chief john monson before the race and he said they went up a pound and a half on both the left side tires because they were worried about this cold air today and that the track was going to be very different after winston cup practice so they had to bake just a barely small little change when they pitted this time only a half pound in the left rear a very small change john woods said he's awfully happy with that 50 truck what that does a half pound in the left rear is increase the left rear spring rate just a little bit you think but with the inertia of the belt of the radial tire turning it's probably like putting 25 pounds of spring in the left rear and it will tighten the thing up off the corner but you don't want to get too tight and the slower you get dorsi on these tires what happens slowly get the tighter you get you know as you go around here what's happened here too is they have no data on anything they only had one practice session that was yesterday when it was hot now it's cold overcast nothing for nothing rick how about carl edwards moving back and forth and operation harvick is on the move here kevin harvick still out in front in this one for the craftsman 200 doing very well as he has ted musgrave right behind him [Music] veterans to the front you notice that guys and guys let's talk a little bit about toyota something very exciting to this series coming up very soon just before last month's season opener at daytona toyota announced they would enter the nascar craftsman truck series in 2004 this will be toyota's first foray in one of nascar's top three divisions toyota will be the fourth make to enter the nascar craftsman truck series since its inception in 1995. we're running the old nose right now because it's just better right now it's a better piece obviously chevrolet is not happy with us but they understand our position that we're out here to win races and we're going to put the best piece we can on the track every week and right now in the early developments of the 2003 nose we feel that we're best suited to run the 2002 nose right now we had worked really hard just to make long runs yesterday and then you know that's usually what you set up for for this place and it's just hard on tires and you want to make a long run tomorrow morning speed will be bringing you live flag to flag coverage of one of america's most historic auto races the 12 hours of sebring beginning at 10 am great truck he said bobby hamilton we think has the best truck and we i believe after a few laps we can stay right with him and brenda's doing a great job right now currently running in the fifth position you see that move on brandon gone just put on on rick crawford from the top to the bottom i tell you what i checked that truck out yesterday and it is sanitary brand new and they were really really pleased with with happy hours barry you were saying right there before musgrave just watching harvick run his tires off well something's happened cause he's right on the back door knocking right now he's been watching kevin use these stickers up too quick and i say that he's gonna catch him and go right by him and i tell you what the guy that's coming back up here with the chassis change is right behind him who's gonna be in this picture before you know it bobby hamilton you saw right there kevin harvick ducking even below the the white stripe there and able to keep it off of the wall here comes bobby hamilton he's been driving smooth he's coming along like that tell you the truck on the move right now too it's brendan gone he's up to fourth place we saw him working over back there working rick crawford over he's he's all sudden flying when we when we had come back from break we were talking about the arrow equal that we had going between the chevrolets the fords and the dodge and now dodges are starting to make it there he comes here he is the veteran pac-man musgrave put it right on him going in got him a little bit deep and pushed up now harvey's trying to look on the bottom side he's running around the bottom trying to get back in harvick's not three watches i know kevin harvick he's not through now his tires might be but he's not oh he's thinking about down the inside right now operation harvard guys watch this watch us at home you want to see some great racing craftsman truck series right here at darlington fast into the racetrack and boy he's got her planted down on the bottom tires are not he's not giving this race up but you're right rick we've seen dodge chevrolet and ford up front arrow equal that's the word we're looking for there he goes working the bottom side again we're talking about it here he comes i told you he wasn't done and loose harvick side by side he doesn't care that's his truck yeah yeah that's right can't be fired from that deal or i should say the wives this is what we're used to right here side by side truck way some pretty soon to start leaning on each other that's what i like to see the guys behind i like to see it too great battle for the lead here ted musgrave back out in front last year he led 97 laps in his win and again out in front of kevin harvick yeah how do you say it rick tough truck what is it how's it going tough drivers tough trucks there it is yeah i'd say look at that right you know what they're doing they're setting each other up right now seeing what they got because we're gonna have to get to it sooner or later i tell you what you're doing they're letting bobby hamilton get back this picture bobby hamilton and brendan gone he's dragging brendan very well both those dodgers real serious strong right now have to run a little bit quicker lap time because these guys are dicing it up so much and you see we now have the square d dodge number four they're in the same picture which with brenda gone right behind him those two working together and they were going to reel in our leaders ted musgrave and kevin harvick yeah you're not taking anything away from brendan ghani won two races last year on the super speedway look at that pass right that was a dirt track movie that sure wasn't plopping underneath crawford with a big fishtail slide right up in front of him yeah and where i was you can't take anything away from brendan's gun but the best thing he can do right now is sit right where he is behind bobby hamilton and learn more about darlington it's going to help him everywhere we had just seen travis waffle and yesterday we talked to mike bliss who was the driver and the champion in the trucks last year driving uh the truck now that travis popple is in in the number 16. and mike bliss said he missed it it's it's back to the roots racing i love it i was in this series before i feel like i'm back in it right now i get really excited watching these things you guys can't tell that candy no they've got it all dave fusion's got fobble's truck right on the bottom i saw when he came off turn four back there and he slammed the tailpipes down and now he's got pressures up and so forth so he's got that thing right on the bottom well i don't think barry gets too excited if there was a camera on him i think we'd make an aerobics video up here we'll be back [Music] we got all new trucks this year and that was another new one straight out of the box and no qualifying practice and got out there both practice sessions was real good and it's just a good truck to work with it uh easy to work on everything fit real good and boys at the shop and fab shop everybody doing a wonderful job on it you know we changed a couple of springs on and did a couple shock adjustments man and then got in the race here and made a couple adjustments this morning and uh started out a little tight and then got a little loose and just got in between there it's a nascar craftsman truck series craftsman 200 here at the darlington raceway and as you come back and see the onboard camera there a little smoke in the that's more that's a fender hanging off the right rear corners jody lavender chevrolet has made contact with something i believe that's a darlington stripe nice morning strongest right it's kids i think this kid's a local that raced at timmonsville just down the road here and he found out what the big d's all about he's got the flat sided both tires flat back end tore all up still under green he's got it off the racetrack that's a tribute to wayne alton in the guys everything stayed on that truck and that's a priority to nascar like bobby hamilton working here it's a great race there up in front let's take a look back at jody lavender and how he had some problems coming out of turn two well he's pretty loose right there good correction a little help there's the darlington stripe all right carl let's see how good you are buddy and there is a big piece of sheet metal out there somewhere look at carl carl edwards dodged that one really good in the ford i wonder if he tapped him barry i don't know i think look at how far away he gets off of him that's a good save right there by uh wood there's a debris that we actually flew out of the track i don't know if that hit john woods truck or not take one more look at this oh he's loose by himself i think there's a big hit right there we get that defensively carl edwards almost lost it going down the bank and trying to get away that's a good hit yep he's done got debris i'm surprised we don't have a yellow because we saw that fly out there is the big hunk of the rear uh laying out there it's inside the groove so that's why they're not doing anything it's down there on the apron somewhere we're out of harm's way we've already seen three people down there trying to pass yeah that's right how could be out of the way these guys passed down there when we went away to break you had kevin harvick ted musgrave and bobby hamilton uh and brendan gone is your top four nothing's changed there kevin harvick still holding on to the number one spot everybody's got a little bit closer together though that's what's changed the race is on boys here we go here we go side by side and the people on their feet right here like guarantee look at this i think something's wrong with harvick struck you see that thing moving around barry's moving back and forth a little bit that it was arrow well he's wanting to leave you know but he knows the penalty box is open he knows exactly where it is and he's going to he's dropping back i think he might have a problem in the six truck it's acting peculiar it's moving back and forth kind of lateral maybe you've got a tire going down or something i don't know he's falling back quick he really used him up quick dorsey we'll have to see here i saw something funny talking about tighten him up so he must have called in as loose as can be didn't look loose he looked at him straight away to me like he was wiggling down the straightaway like something was broke he's out of tires he was he was trying to feel it maybe sometimes drivers do that dorsey don't they yeah flat tire you can only do it on straight away yeah if you turn a little bit you spin out you got a flat tire right away as tina gordon lets ted musgrave go by fans enjoying what they're seeing here in darlington well you know you're always somewhat skeptical when you start a new team a new driver and you know i met him a week before we went to daytona and hey he's done a tremendous job i think we have a good communication going so if we can just keep it up he can do it we just got to get the equipment up underneath them how are you happy about where you're at this point of the season well you know a little disappointed what happened to us daytona i feel like our i feel like our team is excellent and i feel like we'll be back to where we need to be here pretty quick welcome back to the track two tough to tame darlington raceway here for the craftsman at 200 on speed again out front ted musgrave holding on to the number one spot and right behind him fellow veteran bobby hamilton you know a guy who's really been making some impressive moves as a rookie is carl edwards first time here and boy i tell you what he's he talked a lot to his teammates he sat out there and watched practice he had the ear sets on so he said i'm learning well do good yeah and you go talk to the likes of jeff burton who's won a lot of races here here's a kid who wants to learn i'm i'm interested to see if he'll use the patience that you have to have here just when you think you got darlington master it's going to jump up and bite you well he's about to use the paint thickness on the side right when you're talking that as he came up there here's your biggest movers look at that check that out way up on top 31st all the way up to fourth already this young rookies got a lot of talent there well another one right there randy briggs up 13 14 spots great run for this guy they're kind of cross state rivals that's right you know we saw carl leave now he's all the way up to the front down there daytona before that wreck took him out i mean he got it he got it up there carl edwards actually ducking on the inside there of that white line again yeah he's he's turned the air down with left front up under it by doing it and that's something you don't want to do but this guy doesn't know what um yeah look at the eight tracks oh man that's not handed to you you talk about loose dirt track that thing from the bottom all the way up to the top good pass on terry cook you got honey nuts cheerios that's a new sponsor phil lester that's a good thing for him to get signed up with they say we're going to see his face on a cereal not sure he's cheerios cereal box i want a present guy to talk to and very very knowledgeable very knowledgeable we take a look here at kevin harvey if you don't think phil look at it yeah kevin hartwick said they made a bad gamble on tires they thought that the truck would tighten up a little bit but it's not they did not adjust enough on the truck he wanted it to tighten up a little bit so he's a little bit too free and it has not tightened up yet so look for kevin harvard to make some pretty big changes next pit stop let's take a listen to kevin [Music] [Applause] said he just blew up but it doesn't sound like yeah i was gonna say we hear him accelerate maybe a valve springer that's that's not major yet right dorsey right he he heard something that he thought was the end of the day for him and then it wasn't but he he wouldn't have said that if there wasn't something going funny here well i'll tell you what if i got a loose truck at darlington and it blows up i'm not too aggravated he might have put the clutch instead hit the wall i'll blow this thing up maybe we ought to come out and get more at least let you drive better so when he says blow it up just tough smoke right there when he lifted but it's not going to last long if uh you know maybe a valve went down hit the piston and uh we'll see once you see the tail tail sounds yeah it's getting worse yeah i just heard it as he came by it's flat it's either dropped a valve or it's got a valve spring busted in or something but it's going to heat itself up pretty soon look at carl edwards oh look at that move went by pretty wide when they went by the start finish line there and just a few laps ago let's take a look back travis vapo he's underneath him right there i saw he got by watch it gets down in the corner hard oh now look it's pushing up got tight on him he's headed up the racetrack come on come on truck there's your darlington stripe bang he got it now did you guys hear me while ago we might get another here's another look watch this i said you got to race the racetrack he's racing travis quappa watch this the racetrack's going to jump up and bite you as you run out of tires this kid is is very very brave he thinks he's still got sticker tires he's not at daytona you're at darling that's a typical tire wore out situation he saw it get tight in the middle of the thing and he got a lot of understeer push and then they got loose off the corner and smashed the ball yeah i'm sorry do i say and you think you slowed him down i don't think so i was going to say here he comes he's still in fourth he's still out in front of travis air damn knocked up under which is going to make it push flat sided right side he doesn't care he says that's what they're talking about he's racing guys he's not a rookie anymore he's got the darlington stripe and he's still running yeah and he's chasing a pretty good truck right now also i cannot believe this kid at darlington first time and he's in fourth place i mean i'm telling you that's very very impressive and he has brendan gone who's currently sitting in third in his sights as they work their way around this 1.366 mile oval it's one thing to drive the wheels off of the truck but don't drive the paint off the whole thing too at the start finish line your leader is going by it's ted musgrave still out front bobby hamilton giving chase sitting in second [Music] i mean carl did a great job for for seeing the the track the first thing wednesday morning when we pulled in here and and the guy lived and breathed the tapes of old races he talked to jeff burton he got advice from several drivers and he just had determination to go out there and run good and man was he on that middle run there we got actually got in the lead and then we just didn't want to stay out there too long so we pitted you know right around when everybody else was and we were hoping that one would go green all the way to the end we thought we would have a good chance welcome back to darlington raceway for the craftsman 200. ted musgrave still late but we're standing by with kevin harvick kevin you started 25th got to look like you had a great truck what happened uh we broke a valve spring and started missing and sputtering so there's no reason to blow it up uh we're not running for points we're just here to win but uh good day for the uh operation harvick fans is pretty cool we got a regular poster on our board i had to go to afghanistan to service time and the fans adopted him and they sent food socks whatever you got go to cabinharvik.com and support our troops like all the kevin harvick fans are did you have some fun today i had a lot of fun i mean even though even though it's not how we wanted the day to end it was still a lot of fun to go out and just drive the heck out of something you're gonna be back with us some more right yeah we're gonna send brandon miller to uh bakersfield next week and we're gonna run all the companions and maybe a couple more good deal kevin harvick and you guys have talked earlier about brendan gone thinking he had a really good truck well he sure does and let's head down to ray guys travis quaffle gives up fifth place position they're gonna go down two rounds on the track bar taking two pounds of air out of the right rear tire these guys talking about this truck being really loose now that you need a real smooth pit stop here but the most important thing was to clean off the grill travis had come on the radio and said his oil pressure was pegged so they wanted to make sure those grille openings were good and open water temperature was 240 but it was oil they were really worried about he gets that pit stop done heads back out to the track with four fresh tires mark it down guys lap 90 whenever the 16 comes to pit road well he was talking about oil temperature being pegged not all pressure being plagued and that's what they were cleaning that grill off for brendan gone has taken a lead while we're talking about all that stuff he went right up passed up ted musgrave like he wasn't even there is now pitting and he has set sail for get some extra points let's head back down to the pits and ray guys it'll be 4 000 in first gear right here that's what they're telling ted muskrat make sure this is smooth don't get too close to the wall because we got to do a four tire here everything goes smoothly over there on the right side and we see the nascar official was waving a little bit joe or holler told him something but evidently no problem the lug nuts were good these guys go to work on the left side rick crawford will come in right in front of him with the 14 muskrat with a great stop there gas man goes down but no problem now crawford continues with his pit stop right here crawford was talking about being wicked loose there right at the end of that run so they want to make an air pressure adjustment for him they have done that now the left sides go on here cal beaufrey is on the front these guys with a pretty good stop a little bit of the hang up on the front phil parsons bobby hamilton are going to make a little bit of an air pressure adjustment in the right rear the truck now is a little bit loose off the corners a little bit tight earlier a little bit loose off four tires this should be his last stop assuming no more caution flags now when ray talked about 4 000 in first gear he's talking about a speedometer it's 4 000 rpm in first gear they don't really have a speedometer but they equate that to mile per hour that tells the driver that's how fast i can go and not exceed yeah they watch the tachometer 4 000 rpm and guys it looks like you know chad chaffin in right here these are scheduled stops lap 30 was the first caution these guys went about 60 laps down to ray guys jason leffler is in he's moved up to fourth place they had a little bit of a hang up on the right front the first time marty houston the new crew chief on this truck is changing tires he's on the front everything goes smoothly that time no problem scott punch a new tire changer on the rear they've got the window cleaned up grill is done and leftler will head back out to the racetrack he and david starr leave pit road about the same time but guys the 90 is in of john wood he does four tires he also heads to the track but keep your eye on his teammate number 99 i just saw carl edwards leave the racetrack or back to the racetrack a minute ago with a lot of steam coming out of the front of that 99. and we see there carl edwards in the 99 on the screen again having a great run the number 99 of carl edwards let's take a look now at who used to be leading the race ted musgrave and the number one it looks as though they might have a little problem there look at this catch can guy yeah he got hung up with the catch can in the back we'll get another look at it that's that number one can right there he's holding that catches the fumes but you see here he's right here right there speed he had speed you know what though i tell you what that guy he left his body because he knows that if that catch can would have stayed on ted would have had to come back in he would be he would be a lot more hurt had to catch candles exactly but these were scheduled stops nobody's hurt here that leaves about 60 to go to the finish at lap 147. so these guys can all make it now everybody musgrave now back up on top again with the pit stop they made did a good pit stop even though that catch cam guy took a little free ride he was all right they can all make it rick but granted i guarantee you you see her caution you're gonna see everybody on pint road for four more blowers and they've got another set of tires yes they did 62 after all the pits we have ted musgrave up in front bobby hamilton sitting second brendan gone in third and fourth travis quaffle and now in the pits we have bill lester lester's truck was real loose before he's gonna do the same thing as everybody else i like what we heard on the crew chief a minute ago telling ted musgrave that the 62 brendan gone gets real fast don't use your tires up they're doing the four tires right now a lot of trouble on the right rear for bill here's carl edwards in he waited a little bit get that sheet metal off get that sheet metal off right there so the push is not in this thing what's going on here now he's got something up there to shoot we're not shooting ether in there are they no he's got a hose that's either a water hose or if the thing's overheating he's moving hot he's overheating he's overheating and that's a pressure they normally run a little hose right in here i saw it on john wood's truck yesterday which is also a roush truck that shows it overflowing dorsey yeah it blew up it just blew up that hose that they're trying to put water in it's got more pressure than the radiator system does and it purges it but you saw the white smoke come out of the exhaust that was all she wrote ted musgrave out in front and the reason he's there is because his crew is working extra hard at keeping him in front he did an excellent job the catch can get stuck in the in the uh vent tube and he just wouldn't let go until it come out so you can't ask for no more now that's that's 110 typical rubber build up here at darlington um you know maybe a little bit too fine of screen but the openings that we did have you know we're just about all clogged up so once we lost the water in it there when we tried to come back in it was too late at that point [Music] welcome back to the nascar truck series craftsman 200 here at darlington raceway and craftsman has a crew close-up and let's head back down to ray and find out a little bit more about that well thanks rick we want to talk to marty houston i told you he changes right front tires but also he's the new truck chief here a new title for you but you guys got to be pretty pleased with that pit stop yeah that was a better stop we uh kind of screwed that first stop up we had a little problem with some lug nuts falling off and uh we know we're a lot better than that and we expect a lot more out of ourselves than that so we sucked it up and uh got a decent stop hopefully we'll get one more chance to put him out front today what's jason saying about the truck he was uh a little tight to start off with and uh having a hard time keeping up said he was really driving hard just to keep up and i think we've managed to make the truck a little bit better so we'll see we still got a long way to go okay timmy kahoot is the general manager on this team and for the number one truck our leader ted musgrave but a new crew chief situation down here marty houston kind of taking over really he's just a crew chief in chain in training excuse me guys but he also changes front tires watch these guys are really working hard to make a better stop than the first time round got the two outside tires right away this is a replay of course of the stop we were just talking about that is a good change right there yeah yeah and i'll tell you something that jackman being left-handed has an advantage on the left side when he comes back around he gets there so much quicker really yes he does like a first baseman or a third baseman like a first baseman or a third baseman or a left-handed pitcher and i tell you something he has been on the move he moved he fell way back he's moved himself up to fifth place let's head down to phil carl edwards carl had a great run going your first time at darlington well up into the top five tell us tell us about the day yeah first i have to thank roush racing my crew chief doug richard is awesome steve mccain my car chief and every guy on my crew worked really hard to get here that was awesome darlington is my new favorite track and jeff burton is my hero he helped me so much tell me what put you out i think we got a lot of build up on the grill the temperature just kept climbing and climbing and then it's only got so much water in it we're out of water we noticed that you got a little bit of a darlington stripe here i guess everyone has to do that right yeah that was that was pretty ugly i got bike wobble and just wiggle wiggled and then hit the wall so i got to say hi to my mom i love you all my fans and thank jack roush this is awesome show us your helmet tell us a little bit about that kindergarten class came to the shop the other day and they wanted my autograph so i made them sign my helmet and it's cool these kids are great carl edwards guys he's going to make a lot of fans in the next weeks to months to come but right now he's got 22 fans for life 22 kindergarten kids from lake norman elementary near charlotte ted musgrave still holding on to the number one spot in the number one truck bobby hamilton looking to make a move to try to get back in front we have a great team right now you know we really do we just added a new rear tire changer um and we're we're really proud of all the guys we have uh most of them are with us last year we just added one new rear tire changer and i feel like we got a really good team right now so we're real happy i mean the best stops were excellent and you just can't answer no more now after their first visit in 2001 the nascar craftsman truck series made their second visit to darlington raceway last year on march 15th it didn't take long for pulsator jason leffler to be swapping the lead with his teammate ted musgrave 12 laps from the finish musgrave powered to the outside picked up his darlington stripe and moved his machine past robert presley to take over top spot taming the lady in black ted musgrave took top honors in the craftsman 200 the first of three victories for the wisconsin native in 2002 had a pickup problem in the fuel cell and we didn't catch it till we didn't run the truck out of gas and probably leaned it out a little bit hurt the motor a little bit so he uh he worked with a miss just about all day long and uh so we really needed handling to get through the corner and uh chad drove his heart out in the dike's dodge it was really really good run for us having a lot of fun it's uh it's racing and that's one reason we wanted to move back to nashville and that's where i'm from and raced with bobby my whole life and uh wanted to work with him and and uh really wasn't no good deals on the cup side to go do and and this was the best deal that i've had in a long time welcome back to the lady in black at darlington raceway craftsman 200 the nascar craftsman truck series this is race number two for these guys and out in front is the number one of ted musgrave but as they make their way around the track you look back there and bobby hamilton's right behind him and as we see at the line just two seconds back is bobby hamilton and he's making his moves yeah right two and a half seconds you know you touched a while ago rick out wind tunnel tonight on speeds right speaking of wind tunnel wayne alton and nascar they're planning on taking two dodges two fords two chevrolets from here to lockheed wind tunnel now how they gonna do that were the haulers going to bakersfield california this week hey well the biggest problem he's got is finding six good trucks to take six good bodies after this race there's a look at the line look at this one point six two nine eight ten that's what you want to hear he's got his head down right now there's times running out folks bobby hamilton's got his head down and he's making up two three four tents gonna be right there he's got the bit in his mouth and i tell you something i like that crew chief newt moore this guy's not afraid to try stuff to gamble to risk it but they have in here like we've touched on brand new truck 15 laps on it when the race started and he's right there there's a picture newt you see him up top he's a real racer one of the exciting things too about bobby hamilton coming into this series he just really raises the level of the series he he sat down with randy briggs one of the rookies and told him helped him around the track said hey you know you've got to learn this track a little bit i'm going to try to help you because he was helped by dale earnhardt terry cook better learn to get out of the way in a minute you see bobby hamilton run down on the apron now twice he is not going to stand for that very much here he comes right now he can't he's got it he's got to go tires get out my way watch this trying to make the pass at the line it's one and a half second difference between musgrave and hamilton oh he's running all of it you see he's always down there on the bottom again yeah and still closed the gap here he knows we're 25 laps to go somewhere in that neighborhood bill lester right behind all that pack just straight through on the outside of the eight and as you were talking about uh bobby hamilton and his crew chief we have him with phil down at the pit looks like you guys are catching that mustap ever so slightly you got enough time and can you do it well we're catching him about two tenths of lap uh pretty clean run right now but i just don't know we got another time about 15 laps in i think to the end of it so uh anybody can do it bobby do it where d dodge how has your truck been at the end of a run will your truck get better and better it's getting better as we go we're a little tight to start with now we got it freed up and it's good we're just waiting to see if we got enough time or not fourth place finisher at daytona bobby hamilton running second trying to catch ted musgrave and right now there's nobody in between bobby hamilton and ted musgrave so bobby hamilton doesn't have to worry about passing anybody except for the win yeah and phil tell him tell newt to calm down he's got almost 25 to go yeah okay that's big we got trouble right here in turn four we got a truck spinning that's andy houston in that billy baloo boy nelly needs a band-aid he's a big band-aid the whole side of that thing's flat he's coming in no caution yet yep there's caution out right now so our second caution of the day comes out with just 24 laps remaining in this one and what would natalie say it's getting hot in here it was getting hot in there yeah i'd be saying that must be the money because somebody just spent a bunch of it right there those sides all knocked off the vocal clothing becoming a primary sponsor on the number 15 of andy houston that's pretty used up right there couple guys got their laps back right there barry yeah i had a fortunate uh of running that truck last year my stepson and under some different colors and we came out looking a lot better than that that's a tough run for andy but a great run at daytona beach kid finished fifth had some points to build on a good run here would have been really really big disappointing day when you're right at 20 laps to go guys so close to the finish but so far away as i had mentioned just our second caution in the first race that uh was run here there were five cautions for 34 laps then last year nine cautions for 31 laps and we really have run a pretty clean race this whole time you shouldn't have said that not with 20 years ago now you did it yeah now you did it i don't believe that guys let's take a look back at how andy houston got into the position that he's in now all right hang on nelly don't watch this nelly look way up right with jason leffler right here way up front here oh he just wow jason hit some of that aluminum debris here they're going to they're going to pit for tires guys no fault no fault there of andy's watch here it just explodes the wide shot again and you'll probably see they're seeing it robert press is seeing it jason's right there right under the front balance okay you're gonna see these guys in for four tires it's gonna come down to the pit crew just like the big boys that's right i was going to say that earlier that these pit crews are really having to tune up because the truck has gotten so competitive the racing's so good that these pit stops you cannot lose and make it up on the racetrack these guys are really to have to do their home you can't do it four tires here who comes out front and it's going to get aggressive i mean we've got some veterans up here we got a kid like brendan gone who loves this place travis quapple look at chad chafin up here great for him john wood too look at him he's got eighth place right now and he's been on that wheel dorsey every lap he has been on that wheel and guys you see on our our monitors here we see our monitors we've got nine trucks that were on the lead lap now the dodgers have won every race here there's three of them in the lead right now but that doesn't mean anything because we haven't made our pitch stop travis quapple is the top chevrolet for sure then you got lefler and chaffin into dodges rick crawford no surprise here is the fastest ford but he's got young john wood like barry he's been pedaling he's on that wheel if he can get some tires and run to the end he might make some little little john is good and guys this track has been has been labeled too tough to tame well let's take a look at how the track is done to the drivers well that wasn't good right there what it did one strike two strikes that was david stark's mistake yeah that's that's a big four stripes carl gets his i'm going to have to take my shoes off here dorsey that's right you're almost out of out of toes and fingers here it's been tough it's been and houston of course yeah okay we're going one more lap obviously because pit road was blocked with safety equipment but don't you think all these drivers are saying i gotta have tires i gotta have tires and the crews know this well with 21 laps to go when they come across the start finish line now i mean it's they're they're trying their tires aren't going to last that long anyway but it's getting down to where they're going to have some good racing and dorsey what did marty houston say he was hoping for a caution to pay back jason for a prior bad pit stop the heat's on these guys right the heat is on these guys there's no question about it they're going to have to get that four tires get it done i wonder if anybody's gonna gamble on two i wouldn't hear it no no you can't two tires right here is like putting a band-aid on a major wound artery will get you anywhere at the end of surgery yeah it'll get you another stroke that would be a real good finish had not rick here said that uh you know it's been clean up till now we don't have lights here rick we've got but i'll tell you what we have we had a fantastic race and it's a tribute to these kids these people these veterans you expect them to be up front at darlington but you got a lot this is a great springboard the nascar craftsman truck series for future series we've been hard-pressed to keep a champion in this series because it opened so many doors and avenues for them to move up be contenders winners and champions in other series if they say arguably this is the best racing that nascar's got i don't think the argument has much bearing to it anymore this is the best racing yeah when people say arguably i say no there isn't an argument this is the best when you heard yeah when you heard daryl waltrip say folks hang on you're getting ready to see the best race of the weekend on speed one of the best race of the weekend's about to happen because these trucks are going to come in the pits boys and everybody better stand back fans on their feet screaming they know what's going on yeah the butterflies now the butterflies are not in the trucks are they dorsey where are they no those pit guys on pit lane in there they're all they're here standing on in and they they know what the job is they got to do they got to do these four and get their boy out and we got two of the best down there covered watch this folks this is going to be big fans excited and everybody's up nobody everybody's taking a look at what's going to take place on pitts let's go to phil brennan gone the very first pit off of pit road this guy's going to change four tires going to go up one half pound in the right rear this truck's a little bit too loose these guys know they got to do it right now this is the one that counts now bobby hamilton is in he's gonna go up two pounds all the way around newport knows that he's gonna get gotta build up the air pressure because a short run not a rain up a half a pound on the right side for ted musgrave they only needed one can of gas musgrave will be the first guy off pit road great pit stop for these guys bobby hamilton leads him out right behind that and brendan gone then the two in the 16. so good pit stops here the guy that really got killed on pit road was rick crawford crawford will lose six or seven spots down here as they lost some luck nuts on the left rear tire okay we got john wood with a hood up here oh it's overheating too look it's another roush truck see up here the steam coming out the window that's the overflow right there they're not doing anything to it yet they're under the hood though i'll tell you rush uh jack's had a tough time once yet and as ted musgrave leads let's set up the sights and sounds of speed [Music] [Music] and here they are battle for the lead bobby hamilton on the inside tries to get away from ted musgrave as they go into turns three and four and bobby hamilton makes the pass and goes high in turn four as they come out on the front stretch great run out of two set him up down there did the draft buy now we'll see if he's got anything left i'll tell you what watch jason left he's all over the wall he hadn't hit it yet but i don't know why he hadn't been he's on top of it he's hoping he'll move it right now what a setup like you said dorsey for bobby hamilton fresh tires he knew he could cut it down off turn two and look at him go he had the monster run boy he said him about between one and two cranked the wheel down and i saw him do it one lap before and he's now he's got the pedal down bobby hamilton won the first truck race here in 2001 and he's looking to repeat here in 2003 13 to go at the line one race trail will just wag the tail out of the wall just got a darlington stripe just on the bumper the way daryl walter told me you want to do it that's six yeah that is six that's correct it back up he's right there you got two veterans up there who absolutely love this series now what you got to look at right now is which of these two trucks is going to run the tires off the quickest they're both hammered down one of them's going to give up fast from the other we don't know which way to go yet i like bobby hamilton right now you never know here at darlington but with fresh tires and only 12 to go that's a new truck too barry that's brand new brand new truck bring it here to darlington that's uh that's got gotcha move and it'll look that way because bobby hamilton owns it i think they named that truck chunky i don't know what it means that jungkook oh we talked about john wood his motor is giving up the ghost see the smoke coming out there in the front left he done blowed up yeah yeah i got to come in man yeah yes you do he was trying to make it to get those vital points he had a great run at daytona and see it's coming out the exhaust now barry it's just it's just ate itself completely and 11 to go and the kid's not going to make it he's going to lose some some precious points here going into bakersfield next week lucas oil race ray can help us out with brand new as you said but it has no name yet that's because crew chief newt moore is a little bit superstitious the chassis number on this thing is 1904 that means it's a truck for the team number four but it's the 19th chassis that they built at bobby hamilton racing all 18 previous chassis have a name this one does not yet newt said soon as we win with it we'll name it well i can tell you the name right now if he beats this veteran both these guys have won this race before that truck right there will be named darling darling is a good name for come on darling ted musgravin i'll tell you something a different decal on musgrave's truck this week child help usa let's head down to phil dave ray you said that newmar was superstitious that did not want to name this truck yet well he may not have named it but somebody did because this truck is called beavis this is one of the original employees of bobby hamilton racing had to move back to ohio and this is the last truck that he painted before he had to move back so they nicknamed this truck beavis in honor of him i like darling too and the big d on the front it's like the leaders in traffic musgrave lurking that was duck keller in the 27 gets up on the high line gets a lot of room that's a nice thing to see all you kids at home that want to learn how to race i don't care if you're in go-karts mini sprints look at this right here from fifth jason leopard crawford crawford's not through yet daytona wasn't enough for him but if you want to learn how to race you watch these guys at darlington and if you're left-handed you could be a jackman right yes you can oh boy it gets tight right there crawford down the bottom but he's got trouble chad chaplin's got a good run going oh good block though do you see that i don't think that truck's missing no great race for fans [Music] jason's not quite the way he wants to be right now for a short run seven to go bobby hamilton when he won this race in 2001 he led 125 of the 135 laps telling you what brendan gone doing a great job staying right with him he's not out of this picture by any means one slide and one slip up between these two lead trucks brandon bronerby right there three dodges chevy ford dodge ford chevy we can keep on going arrow equal but not right now dodge is running very well out in front bobby hamilton putting his 10th lap in the lead out on the board just 2.27 100 of a second separate first and second right now and i just saw a big big wiggle from bobby hamilton number four got loose coming off the last corner was partially because of that bump and because of that they all tightened up hey ray what do you got guys talking about terry cook the number 29 i think he may be one of the guys that's driven the hardest today whenever he pitted the first time they went down five rounds on the track mark because he was so loose then they put two rounds of wedge in changed air pressure and he had to fight to get back on the lead lap terry cook has probably passed more trucks today than anybody else we've been watching still a great battle to ready to develop for the lead up front something happened with crawford right there dropped back a couple of this is that very yeah crawford's slowing i tell you what else i see i see some lap traffic that may come into play here to decide this win i don't know what happened to rick right there but if he got messed up on his own and had to check up or whatever but he got dropped back now looks like he's all right again lap traffic almost a problem yeah you could see it coming maybe rick didn't want to be number seven though i don't know that could be right that was close back there this might get good this might it already is good it might get great i was gonna say bobby had to check up now musgrave is all over him see if he can return the favor down here and turn two three laps of racing to go and the battle is on bobby hamilton and ted musgrave the two that have won this race before are battling ford right now and don't count up brendan gone in the third dodge he's right there with him too we saw that one little miscue with the last truck and that's enough that's all it takes that's all it takes and i'll tell you what i've been watching the engine the horsepower looks equal in these two dodges it's who's getting through the turns i heard bobby say yesterday man i've got a motor so does musgrave sure does we talked about earlier how the line is so important and bobby hamilton now out there dictating what line he runs probably got a million miles now there's a little bobby right there is he proud of it or is he proud of dad is he proud of the pit crew dorsey he's proud of everybody i'll tell you what that kid they're all doing the job that's a team right there and they're all working like they're supposed to and you see newt needs a seat belt yeah you have to tie him down everybody in the grandstands are on their feet right now randy gone is getting a free driver lesson today that's that's a good thing white flag coming by boys what happened in front of you i'd love to hear that when i'm in the lead dog corner one to go two truck links between your leader and second this is going to be a great finish as bobby hamilton takes him down the back stretch ted musgrave right behind him turn two is the best place to make a move ted gained only but he couldn't quite do it look coming here watch going into three it's tightening up ted musgrave on the inside bobby hamilton on the outside in the bottom as they come through three and four it's 10 on the inside bobby hamilton is going to be able to close the door and hamilton wins the craftsman 200. i don't think they're happy they are very happy okay bobby this is barry up in the booth you hear me we didn't want to jinx you when the rain started brother how's it feel how's it feel how does it feel i'm happy brand new truck 15 laps great job by newt moore square d you got to be proud of these guys really proud of them barry i appreciate y'all being home with us today brand new truck joey airten edge of square d first win for them in the truck series we had the marines with us over here too so the marines have landed just want to let everybody know in the military that we're thinking about them we're appreciate their support and we're going to do a little burnout right here bud show us how to do it uh congratulations we're going to take it down to ray all right barry we want to hear from our crew chief congratulations man great start to the season yeah squirty dodge was awesome bobby he's phenomenal to work with you just give him something basic and man he'll make it happen he's giving us all the tools to win this thing and we're looking for the big picture but you know second race out uh we're real happy about it guys doing a great job the marine crew come over and help us fit into our pit stops and uh just what can you say squirty dodge victory lane baby that's where we're going how nervous were you on that last lap uh it's all up to him and the good lord ain't much i can do about it then you know man all right great new crew chief newt moore bobby doing the burnouts and they're on their way to victory lane at darlington one more time bobby hamilton was trying to give himself a darlington stripe there the burnout he almost got a strike oh he's not done yet wait what's that mike [Applause] got a little fire underneath got a man he's got a fire underneath as bobby hamilton continues to celebrate we'll be back with a celebration in victory lane we had worked really hard just to make long runs yesterday and then you know that's usually what you set up for for this place and it's just hard on tires and you want to make a long run so uh it kind of bit us at the end there you know we tried to pump the tires up a pound and see if it would get a little bit better on the short run but it just wasn't enough so bobby beat us well here you know you want to run so low on the air pressure and it takes so long to get going because tires go way so fast so we just pumped it up to two pounds all the way around just to get going and uh he liked it and i knew that and we run probably one of the fastest laps there at the very end so we we got it tuned in pretty good and he was giving us good feedback so yeah that that probably helped get going and once we got going he got out front and i know ted was gonna be a little tight behind him because arrow wise and we got out front we were turning pretty good so welcome back to the lady in black the track that was too tough to tame for 33 drivers but maybe not for one and that's bobby hamilton who's down in victory lane with phil parsons bobby now debbie said that's the grand baby is that the grand baby well this is what we added see nobody knew this i had to sneak her in i hope i can get her through tech but she's helping me right there at the end so uh this is coco her first win was at new hampshire last year in the marines car so this would be our second win at square d dodge get out and have some fun get out bobby he started 14th let the last said led 16 laps but those were the best ones weren't they well they're the ones that count i learned a long time ago it plays like this too we felt like we had a real good truck uh so dodge ram was around tough today they tell us to grab life by the horns that's what we decided to do right there at them but i started watching ted there and he had a really good truck on new tires and so we knew what kind of adjustment to make on new tires to go good for 15 18 laps but this thing was really good on low tires i think we'd went green we just kept getting held up in traffic but the thing was really good on old tires too newt said we went up two pounds all the way around on that last pit stop because you knew it was gonna be a short run so you wanted to get more get more air pressure build up right he maximized it and that helped uh because right there at that last slap it pushed on me coming off a two but i knew he didn't have a good enough run and i knew i knew he'd go to the bottom but i wasn't gonna give the top up that's what happened last year and he won the race so i'm just really happy this brand new truck the thing never was started until he got here at the racetrack joe arrington built excellent motor i mean that was in ted's truck but uh we're out for the big picture uh trying to run for this championship we know ted will be tough and terry and rick that's the thing about this nascar craftsman truck series it's a real tough series and these guys are hard to race robert you won this race two two years ago but that was a kind of a different situation you were just a part-time craftsman truck series driver then how much more does it mean now knowing that you're going to try to win this championship for dodge and squares well this makes my living now so i take it a little more at heart than i did that was a lot of fun back then we had a lot of fun doing that back then and uh dana corporation was on with us in and they gave us the opportunity to do that but we're still with dodge and we're just really proud you know the engineering people really stepped up with us this year and we've been doing a lot of testing and got a lot of good things on the table and we just want to run good we want to be a you know a factor newt moore i hired him from schroeder's cup deal last year he's been a big ass set put all new people together so i'm just proud of the whole effort how about that pit crew they done pretty good too i said the marines have landed uh i went over and asked fria because you know the kodak bunch helped me last last uh last race at daytona and i asked him he said i got everything but a right front tire changer we tried to find him and couldn't so my right rear tire changer that we have for this team changed the right front so they've done an excellent job we're proud of them too bobby hamilton winner of the craftsman 200. and a great race for coco too coco by the way wasn't in the truck at least not during the race bobby hamilton racing having a great day as the celebration goes on here at darlington raceway for this craftsman 200. here at darlington raceway we take a look at the results bobby hamilton coming home your winner and that's his second one in three years now at this race you expect this to see bobby hamill and ted musgrave on top but brendan gone travis bobble chad chapman new guys did a great job jason lefler also doing very well there the second page you see here the number two or the number eight of bill lester finishing 12th a great run for bill lester that truck has never finished out of the top 20. yeah l.w miller good run to be at a place like darlington former modified racer tina gordon stuck it out like hers that came in 18 good for her trouble friend decent finish randy mcdonald carl edwards morgan shepard good solid kevin harvick hated the luigi engine he was really strong let's head down to ray with ted musgrave well the two previous winners here at this race uh finished one two man what a great battle you had with bobby hamilton oh yeah well congratulations to bobby and that team but i tell you what the mopar team was really good and you know jeannie and i sat down yesterday and we put a setup in that truck to run the long run you know the 50 60 lap runs and when that uh 50 lap run at the end was coming on i was saving my tires and i was a half a straight behind or i had a bobby and i thought this is going to be good and then the car should come out we're doomed because i know he's good on the short runs and i was good in the long runs and you know 15 20 laps you know i wasn't as good but as you see by the last lap it was starting to come back and just ran out of time but you know the guys did awesome pit stops i mean it's good you know i'm really happy don't get me wrong i'd rather be in victory lane over there but the way this team has stayed together and the way things are going i couldn't be happy with that one part team right now it's a great truck i just ran out of laps in a long run there today you had chassis number 12 a year ago you were in victory lane with chassis number 20. guess which truck's going to bakersfield next week chassis 20. uh you know 12 is what i won a lot of races with last year it's a little heavier truck but it ran real good in this big speedways but uh we we saved 20 for bakersfield and it tested really really well uh i thought we were going to be able to win with this one but second place hey after daytona this is almost like a victory for us isn't it absolutely great job today ted musgrave finished his second now let's check in with phil we're with our third place finisher brennan gone how about a great run today you know you've only had one race on this racetrack prior to today and you're up there running with ted musgrave and bobby hamilton how much of our learning experience and how much fun was it for you i mean right off the bat i let right off the beginning i let bobby go and i called and i said it's not intimidation shane i go i just want to learn something and he taught me great you know i feel that the other manufacturer's probably going to start whining now looking all these dodges up front again but you know that's that's their prerogative they can whine all they want i just feel we had two winston cup guys i mean bobby and ted are just they're arguably the best drivers in the series they got more experience here than anybody i think we just had the best dodge team today we just got beat by the cup drivers shane said before the race that you guys had a great truck happy hour was awesome for you guys and it showed today no it was we just felt good from the time we unloaded this thing this is the one we finished third at fontana and backed into the wall and happy hour after qualifying second in vegas and uh you know i love these guys they kick button it was my spotter billy holbrook's birthday this week so you know he was up there tried to give him a birthday present we came down close you're supposed to mention your sponsor you've got a brand new sponsor on the truck you're supposed to i'm not supposed to mention you're supposed to mention it um normally i do better than that too i'm sorry now this week waterloo tool storage is one of our associates and they want to have a have their own truck this weekend so we had the waterloo tool storage truck we gave them their best finish ever and the orleans guys kick up man the dodge is one two three it's uh i think we particular it's a difficult place to go and uh andy houston fifth to daytona tenth here let's head down to ray in the bets well travis quagpo came here in 2001 finished six then he came here last year and finished seven so you're improving today you finished fourth boy you guys really were after this truck today yeah we sure we're all weekend i think you know we're inching our way up there on our finishes maybe next year we'll get a win but uh really proud of the whole iwx motor freight team and all the guys that help uh get this truck to the racetrack every week and i feel bad i was telling them guys on the cooldown lap i said you know sorry about five laps to go i knocked the crap on you're out of the truck and sorry travis back home you gotta fix that for me and clay but you know like i said all weekend week i never i never got a good feel i couldn't give a real good answer to back to dave on what i thought the truck needed and we kind of sat down this morning and looked through the notes looked at what they ran here like a year ago with mike and came up with something that was real close and you know we were probably one adjustment away from uh from being able to run up with them top three guys you know we were just a couple one two tents off all day on them guys and i really thought that last stop was going to do it for us but for some reason the truck got got even looser so maybe next time first pit stop you guys come you pull spring rubber second one you go down on the track bar change air pressure lots of changes was that partially because of the weather that maybe you missed the chassis no i mean we everything we did to the truck uh before the start of the race was to free the truck up we changed three springs and it changed sway bars uh you know we did a lot of things to free the truck up because we anticipated with all the winston cup and bush cars being here and the track being cooler today it was gonna be tighter so everything we did we did on purpose to loosen the truck up we just went a little bit too far and if we could have got that last adjustment just right maybe we'd have something for him okay congratulations move the second into point says travis quapo he's the best chevrolet today finishing fourth phil chad chaffin you had a great run today in fifth but early in the race we heard that you had an engine problem you had a miss what tell us about that well the dickies dodge was running great and happy hour yesterday but we've had a fuel pickup problem in the field saying we developed the air leak and it was missing and it would and i said guys it's missing and it's missing worse and we actually run it out of gas and as you know that can hurt the motor sometimes and today it just never was it just never was crisp it just it just blubbed off the corners and but it kind of helped i think as the tires wore on i could just mat it and and go and so as the tires wore out we just kept coming and coming but we just couldn't keep up with them after get go got a little experience here in the bush car this is your first time in a truck what how important was that bush experience did that help you today i think it's real important i love the nascar craftsman truck series first of all i love speed vision when we got here though we unloaded fast we were second fastest and i think laps here in a bush car helps because as you know you can't get out here and learn to track you the tires are gone in two laps it's tough to get out here and learn to track so bush experience definitely paid off and and truck was flawless guys was great handled awesome i'd like to thank bobby hamilton dickies thank you guys and just look for bigger and better things this year it's an awesome awesome start of the year for us two bobby hamilton trucks in the top five that's not too bad huh yeah you know i had a lot of people ribbing me and stuff saying you know is the boss gonna be mad oh no they said are you gonna be mad if the boss outruns you i said no not too mad but i said he'll be darn sure man if i outrun him so uh boss is he's still the structure here he's teaching us a few things and uh maybe he'll uh teach me some more get me up there in victory lane chad chapman great run today in fifth back upstairs and his boss is victorious here at darlington raceway in the craftsman 200 as pictures continue with the two races now so far and all of a sudden what was about two-tenths of a second have separated your first and second place cumulative now through two races and as you see we have the five trucks that are sitting on pit road what's what's going on with those trucks barry well we got six we got six trucks down here guys and you know it's ncaa time and everybody's sitting waiting for a bid well here's who got the bid to go the wind tunnel out of the ford camp we got the 14 rick crawford got 29 terry cook chevrolet's we got dennis setzer went out early the only damage is the engine kevin harvick okay then we got the one truck and the four truck no surprise there but here again i think wayne alton's going to be very very happy with what he sees because we heard think about this uh they talked about the dodgers being up top and whining but you heard travis quapple say he had a top three truck top two truck maybe could have won it had to hit on the right chassis combination definitely definitely and and brendan gone actually made the comment about uh dodge having great drivers but i'll tell you what the other other manufacturers have got some very good quality there in the driver's seat don't forget about kevin harvick he did lead this race into chevrolet i mean there's another winston cup driver granted but he took it to the front so there is some validity in that but top five dodges though that makes the ford guys and the chevrolet guys i think we saw a tremendous amount of parity let's head down to the pits and ray well with a number of dodges up front one of the guys that really gave it a good effort today but wasn't able quite to get to the front all day jason lefler a sixth place run you happy with that uh yeah i guess so i mean a little bit disappointed we thought we'd run better but team afc car quest dodge was a really good last half of the race and that caution happened up there in turn three and four and we run right over a tire that came off that truck so bent the valance and uh the last 20 lap run there i was just pushing just hanging on to to where we're at you know i couldn't couldn't really charge and couldn't uh couldn't pass anybody but you know all in all it's not bad when you take a look at that truck guys it's a wonder that he was able to hold on to it at all and bring home a sixth place run well that that bent valence right there means a lot more than what it little look damage looks like right now i'll tell you it's uh that'll really mess you up barry well it's it's uh it's tucked up under let's go down to phil standing by with our eighth place finisher terry cook ray dunlap reported earlier that you made some major adjustments on your power stroke truck and he also gave you the award for passing the most trucks today i don't know if we earned that award or not uh the truck was junk at the beginning i mean the power stroke diesel ford oil mate special was just it was terrible to be in the race and we adjusted on it threw a lot of wedge at it um and thought there at the end of the race we had something for i burnt my tires out trying to hold ted off stanley lap got a lap down got it back when the caution come out and then unfortunately after that the only set of tires we had were set up five lap scuffs and everybody else had stickers so the scouts sure didn't work as good as the stickers and kind of gave up a little bit in the last run but um you know to finish the lead lap get an eighth place finish and we're a lot further ahead we were here last year two top tens to start the season terry cook and from darlington raceway the track too tough to tame we had another great race here at the lady in black speed channel's coverage of the nascar craftsman truck series craftsman 200 is brought to you by guys you could see the excitement in his eyes yesterday travis quaffle chad chaffin good run jason leffler struggled a little bit he's got to be happy with it rick crawford and the forward right top top guy again leave all those down a little bit what do you think happened to rick dorsey i don't know i think he probably got down on the apron or something and de-wedged it and it shot up he had to get up out of it for sure and drop back a bit but we'll never know right now matt crafton bill lester great great finish for that look at randy briggs there too finishing in 13th that was the best finish of a rookie and that's his second time now this season that he's had the best finisher looks like he's not a rookie race track tina gordon another rookie right there did exactly what she had to do stayed out of trouble happy birthday tina and tina wanted to say that she wished her son luck who was in a baseball tournament today and she was not able to be there for that andy houston picking up a new sponsor and vocal clothing and andy having some troubles there towards the end of the race finishing in 21st yeah i think this 25th play i think joe jody lavender is a local here but a good run a lot of experience for this kid today randy renfro a great kid from asa daughter tough day for him joe vardy and dana white and bobby hamilton i mean the veteran comes into this series and you knew that he was going to have some success he takes his third win of the seas or of his career now here at darlington that's two at darlington you would have to expect that those guys get to the top no question about it because they have the experience here and so forth but i'll tell you what the uh that was a great race between two kg veterans that third place brendan gone he's got me excited now i think he's doing good yeah if you don't believe it i mean watch this pass for the lead right here it was phenomenal folks bobby hamilton goes to the inside of ted musgrave and and ted was disappointed he wasn't able to hold on to that win and newt moore having the savvy having the experience having been a driver in the past knowing to bring the air pressure up in these tires where it would be quick and take off on a restart for a good run musgrave was just starting to come in but bobby hamilton was gone and they talked about that with just 20 laps remaining when we had our restart they knew that the air pressure wasn't going to come up because of the temperature and so they had to do it during the pit stop and that's what you see you see it in every series with a radial tire the last setup for the last set of tires goodyear eagles for a shootout pump them up and driver hang on to it this year you pay us back now you can see that happen actually between turn one and turn two of course the pass came off at turn two in the back story it was set up on one it was a great great setup and i saw it coming i mean that's darlington it's tight though we take another look at our point standings through two races and we've got a great race building up in the ford point standings again up in front now is bobby hamilton 345 points through two races travis quaffle with that great finish at daytona and now a solid fourth place finish here coming in second it's what keeps you up there dorsey touchstone rick crawford had a bad day but with the win at daytona he's sitting there in third well he stayed out of trouble stayed out of the wall so he did what he had to do now we'll go to bakersfield in a couple of weeks here masonry i'm excited now i'm telling you it's going to be
