[Music] imagine spending 20 hours on a plane you already know this is the world's best business class because I and every other person who has tried it has repeated that far too many times the question is what do you get in the world's best business costs on the longest route it serves taking over 20 hours from Auckland New Zealand to the other side of the world in Doha how many meals do they serve how many flight attendants are there taking care of you what type of betting do you get how is the entertainment selection there are so many questions and I have so many answers that I cannot wait to share so come with me for the second longest time I've ever spent on an airplane as we take the world's longest Qatar Airways Q Suite flight now at some points this video may sound like an ad how do you know it's not well I'm non-stop Dan I have Swede and half American who's been obsessed with airplanes my whole life and through some luck and persistence I managed to make a living of sharing my passion with you guys right here on YouTube for the past seven years in that time I've flown 100 150 different airlines and I must say Qatar Airways is one of my favorites they're not without their flaws but given that I paid for all my own fights and don't get any purse or special treatment from any airlines you know that my opinions are my actual opinions because what on that note in my opinion New Zealand is one of the most amazing countries on Earth Oscar May save it to visit as our 100th country at the end of last year and we documented the whole thing on our Channel Oscar and Dan I haven't been so sad to leave a new country in well I can't remember how long and although I'd be enjoying country Airways business class all the way to Scandinavia this journey was incredibly daunting even in business class today's trip will comprise mostly of QR 915 Qatar Airways longest flight in its Network which currently operates with a ground stop in Adelaide to refuel and pick up more passengers so the flight is scheduled at five hours from Auckland to Adelaide then there's a 90 minute ground stop there before continuing on the 14-hour journey from Adelaide to Doha since this slide is taking place during the World Cup everything is a little messed up leaving us with an exhausting 12-hour layover in Doha without the option of a Transit hotel or entering the city then we have another seven hour flight from Doha to Oslo before taking a train from Oslo Airport to the the Central Station where another three and a half hour bus ride to Gothenburg remains all in all we're talking 48 Hours of travel Q Suite or not this is not a journey I'd recommend and not something I'll be looking to repeat even though I got an incredible deal which I'll share at the end of the video as usual we start at 6 30 a.m at the Park Hyatt Auckland where we have a quick breakfast and at 8 we hop in our taxi to Auckland Airport where we check in and head to the departure area [Music] foreign [Music] Bravo Echo golf one of 45 Q Suite equipped triple sevens greets us at gate three a word of warning with catcher Airways you can sadly never be certain you'll get the c-type you booked and while they do let you change dates for free if your aircraft is downgraded from Q Suite the customer service experience is rarely smooth so keep that risk in mind because their old business class is sadly a drastically inferior experience Qatar Airways currently has a staggering six different seating configurations on their Triple 7 300s alone which highlights the biggest issue with the airline in my opinion lack of consistency today I'm fortunate to be sitting in one of 42 Q Suites spread across two cabins in a one two one layout I just have to pause here and highlight the miracle of seed design Evolution this is their old and sadly still operating Triple 7 300 business class which also has 42 seats in other words cutter Airways fits the the same number of Q Suites in the space where they have their old 222 layout that is remarkable isn't it I have to say I don't have a strong seating preference here the forward-facing Q Suites have slightly more seating and sleeping space than the rear-facing ones but as an AB geek the rear-facing ones are hard to resist due to the engine use if you can flying in their Center quads which open up is probably one of the most fun experiences you could possibly have with your friends or loved ones I have a video surprising some of my best friends with precisely that Linked In the card now such a feel-good video without further Ado let's hop on board this beauty foreign [Music] by the lovely crew who guide me to my seat what is Sarah who takes care of me ask what I like to drink from anything on the menu and brings my favorite lemon mint along with one of the relatively new deep teak scented towels Auckland is one of the only destinations in their Network where they don't carry Doha made lemon mint my preferred drink on Qatar Airways and let's just say it's noticeable that this one is made in New Zealand so it's a New Zealand lemon mint review it looks yeah it's not like lemon mints at all it's like sugar water with me every time I do a video of Q speed I try to get better footage because it's a really difficult product to record especially on the triple seven since the center overhead bins are so low each Q Suite has two main components the C and the extra stool forward facing seeds have more of a couch in this area while the backward facing seats have a storage bin in that area needless to say between this and the surface ahead of you there is plentiful storage the seat also has a variety of controls and buttons even offering an HDMI Outlet so you can connect your laptop to the entertainment screen [Music] taking out of the headrest here because I'm going to bring up a small complaint about it later in the video the seat details are in one word stunning [Music] everything on board is FIFA themed for the World Cup I can't help but being curious about how fast this theme will trickle out of the product do you guys like everything being a football team no board let me know interestingly even though the overwhelming majority of passengers are continuing to Doha this flight has quite a scaled back service offering there are no amenity kits and no blankets are given if you don't request one what we do get however is menus on this relatively short initial leg not only is the food menu extensive but the wine list is insane this champagne usually sells for several hundred dollars a bottle and we're not even in first class [Music] with that we push back taxi along the ocean to the runway and lift off from Museum as we take off on this triple seven will you help me reach Triple 7 000 subscribers if so please take a second to hit that button it's free and being subscribed makes you eligible for awesome prizes in the future I am so excited to share the implied experience on Qatar Airways longest flight coming up next [Music] immediately after the pilot stinged the Bell to release the crew they unlock our Q Suite door two things set this seat apart from other seats with doors including Hunter Airways own business Suite on their 787-9 firstly the door closes all the way rather than leaving a small Gap secondly and more importantly the door and seat wall is actually high enough to provide real privacy while seated and sleeping Qatar Airways says they've had feedback that the walls are too high I have no idea who said that because to me and tons of other people the height of these walls are a large part of what makes this seat so impressive [Music] foreign [Music] s offer so-called dying on demand where you can theoretically eat what you want whenever you want Qatar Airways is naturally one of them I hope to eat as soon as possible and the meal service begins with one of my favorite in-flight drinks this one thankfully is not impacted by Auckland catering a pineapple margarita with warm nuts note the salt around the rim which is the proper way of serving it and makes it oh so delicious for some context on the food on many roots catcher Airways return caters their flights so the food you get on flights from Europe Africa and parts of Asia is made in Doha so to me it's always fun to see how their catering is handled out of other airports like here down under I start the first meal with the New Zealand Mesa which is surprisingly good the meal is served directly on the table with my favorite business class presentation in the world I mean this is better than many first-class meal presentations [Music] foreign next up this pesto lentil salad I know this looks sussed but it didn't take long to discover this is no ordinary lentil salad it tasted so much better than it looked the main course is the perfect example of how presentation makes a huge difference while this isn't the most impressive dish the crew plating has elevated it significantly and the dried fruit infused rice pairs well with these spice chickpeas and a bite of the almighty herb cilantro last but certainly not least I enjoy not one but two pieces of passion fruit cake all egg and dairy free foreign [Music] I end up watching elf on this flight but not entirely by choice for some odd reason oryx won the entertainment system is drastically scaled back on this aircraft which doesn't make any sense at all compared to my connection from Doha on another triple seven there are less than half the number of movies and TV shows here not ideal on the longest flight in the network and for the first time ever on Qatar Airways I couldn't find anything I was really interested in watching regardless these are the accompanying headphones catcher Airways branded and all [Music] I've said it before and I'll say it again I can't get over how cool it is flying down here am I sweet I'm constantly being checked on by the crew including another lovely Romanian guy Constantine I asked him for a feedback form with their names on it and connect to the one hour of free Wi-Fi to submit my compliments in addition to your free hour you can get a full flight pass of super Wi-Fi for ten dollars if the crew does a good job I highly recommend sending their praises to the airline especially at an airline like at their airways where it goes straight to their manager who puts it in their file as we start our descent Constantine brings me a box of chocolates and another hotel and to think this is just the start of our journey as we approach Adelaide the genuinely hilarious CSD roxandra comes by to thank me for flying with Qatar Airways and make sure I had a good flight and she tells me my visit to her home country Romania in the summer was not enough I simply must go back in the winter Mr Dan listen to a Romanian Grandma you'll be force-fed so much good food in the countryside the next time I see you on board you'll be booking the Center Suite all for yourself because you won't fit in a single seat anymore she was absolutely amazing so together with a fantastic crew we touched down in Adelaide and sadly bid them farewell [Music] thank you the crew will unfortunately be changed Natalie which is great for them since they get a week-long work trip with multiple layovers but sad for us when we have such a good crew [Music] another small thing because our Airways does that sets them apart from many other airlines is that after landing the crew immediately closed the curtains between Cabins this makes the d-boarding process much less hectic and prevents the inevitable chaos in the aisle Australia requires all passengers to get off the aircraft and clear Transit security which could be one of the most useless logical things ever especially since then you hop right back on board are you ready for round two stay tuned to see what happens on the 14-hour leg coming up next so our flight from Adelaide to Doha is full which is really shocking given the state of the economy 2022 was the worst year for stock performance since the crash of 2008. nearly everyone and everything has been crushed by the economic downturn well except maybe one thing if you've been following my channel you know I've been using today's video sponsor Masterworks to invest in an asset class that pretty much isn't available to us normal people and that's Contemporary Art a favorite investment among Millionaires and billionaires why because it has a negative correlation to the stock market in the past 12 months Masterworks has paid out tens of millions of dollars in returns to their investors and I feel secure in my investment since every Masterworks offering is registered with the SEC I mean just look at some of the Returns on their most recently sold pieces so there are a lot of people who want to join Masterworks at the moment if you want to try it yourself you can skip the line to help on a free introductory call to answer all your questions and get started straight away by tapping the link at the top of the description right now all right let's work fight number two on this long long journey welcome back on board the Qatar Airways triple seven 300 and back to seat 10 kilo this time around I'm being taken care of by a lovely South African flight attendant who welcomes me on board with guess what some real lemon mint and another deep teak welcome towel this flight features a new menu for the ultra Long Haul leg and let's just say you won't be hungry here since you can eat whatever you want whenever you want it's interesting that the flight takes off at 3pm and lands at 9pm yet the pre-arrival meal they suggest is breakfast nerdy moment coming up but is this the coolest amenity kit ever or what all passengers are given this special shoulder bag at the time of my flight which contains an eye mask socks earplugs and a variety of products from the teak all of which smell amazing because a severe allergy like reaction if I'm exposed to them for too long more amenities like toothbrushes or shaving kits are available in the lavatory but I can't seem to find any on this flight which is strange speaking of the lavatory there's pretty much one per 11 passengers in business costs and the two by the second set of doors are spacious and are kept clean throughout the flight sometimes on guitar you'll get a crew that even cleans them and replaces the toilet seat cover after every single use but it's a bit of a hit or miss whether you get that with that we're off laughs foreign [Music] ly been six hours since my last meal I decided to eat straight after takeoff so I can sleep my way to Doha [Music] as we enter an area of turbulence this quinoa salad is served which tastes even better than it looks anything with caramelized onions and pesto is good in my opinion so this wasn't a surprise foreign is rice noodles with sauteed mushrooms and Pak Choy which I eat with this adorable little bottle of Tabasco this dish is obviously underwhelming but at least the crew plating makes it look nicer than it actually is [Music] next up I randomly decide to add another Arabic Mezza to the mix because you can never have too much hummus who knew Adelaide could make such awesome Mesa the mutabel hummus and mohamada are really Top Notch so I Town it all followed by some bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar I guess my new Romanian Auntie roxandra was wrong who knew they'd be rolling me off the plane by the time I landed in Doha last but not least my favorite Qatar Airways dessert berries with rose water syrup but the syrup seems to have lost the memo because it tastes neither like rose or syrup just water [Music] nothing says food coma like being ready to pass out at 8 pm Auckland time so I asked the wonderful South African flight attendant to make my bed which she gladly helps with I know that wasn't just some random request cutter Airways offers turned down service to anyone and everyone who wants it in business class in the meantime we changed into the absolutely awesome World Cup pajamas which Oscar and I now wear to bed every night foreign [Music] bed equipped with a mattress pad a fluffy blanket and two pillows this is in-flight coziness at its best and where the door shines most of all [Music] lying in this truly feels like your own private cocoon and I know several people who usually fly economy but say that the Q suite bed is the only time they think business class is worth the premium the triple seven is also better than the E350 for sleeping since all seats have individual air vents the airflow in the center seats can be pretty bad and the E350 doesn't have air vents in the center section so keep that in mind if you tend to get overheated while sleeping unfortunately this bed has a pretty significant flaw for tall people like me at six foot two that's 187 centimeters who need to use the full length of the bed you'll have the headrest poking into your shoulders at an uncomfortable angle which is sadly impossible to avoid that said to my surprise I managed to drift off pretty quickly stay tuned to see how I feel as we approach Doha after our 20-hour journey foreign [Music] I wake up as the cabin lights are turned on 45 minutes before landing in Doha I've slept for seven hours pretty pretty good it's around 6 a.m in New Zealand at this point and despite my sleep I feel absolutely wrecked things aren't looking good for the 12 hour layover ahead the crew pass out some Swiss chocolate as a farewell gift which is standard but no hotel which you know I'm probably the only person who cares about welcome to a football obsessed Doha given that it's been quite a few hours since our last meal we head directly to the almorjan lounge which has both a buffet and an a la carte restaurant The Lunch and Dinner menu is available until 4am so we go for some spinach and tofu tortellini which is served after 15 minutes don't worry the tomato sauce is hidden under all these ingredients and the dish is pretty enjoyable embarrassingly we go for another assortment of Arabic Meza as well for a full tour of the al-murjan lounge and all the amazing food it offers click the card that's appearing now the next seven hours are spent wandering around the lounge and sitting in various places regretting all our life decisions all the rest areas were full and the extremely expensive Transit hotels were all unavailable during the World Cup at 6am we decided to check out the terminal extension which is the last thing I want to show you before we wrap up this part will soon contain a brand new al-murjan lounge and even temporarily has a so-called al-murjan Lounge North to my surprise this Lounge is hacked we decided to go for some of what I've decided is the best fool in the Middle East at least that I've had and then work a little longer it's now 8am and we're finally ready to head to our Oslo bound flight but not before a look at the Singaporean Jewel oh sorry I mean the Qatari Orchard [Music] this was Qatar Airways longest flight and I'm about to share how I paid for it again despite what some conspiracy theorists say I pay for all my own cutter Airways flights I'm not sponsored by them in any way and I don't get Kickbacks for promoting them as far as I'm aware there are no airlines that pay flight reviewers for positive reviews they give free flights to some other reviewers but payment I don't think so with that out of the way there is no business class in the world I'd rather spend 20 hours in Q Suite is as close to perfect as any Airline product can get and the soft products are a bit more inconsistent in recent years is still Leaps and Bounds ahead of 99 of other airlines my biggest problem with Qatar is the wild inconsistency in terms of seats to have a dozen different business class seats in their Fleet which is outrageous so please book expecting not to get Q Suite to avoid disappointment that sucks big time but if you're lucky you'll get an experience so refined so opulent so luxurious you won't believe you're only in business class to get this ticket I used Qatar Airways avios which can be transferred from both British Airways and Iberia to Qatar Airways privilege club making them incredibly easy to earn this means that any credit card that can transfer points to one of those three Airlines allows you to book these flights by some complete miracle I found four award seats on this route at the saver price of ninety thousand points one way and about 250 dollars in taxes per person during the height of the World Cup I quickly transferred some points from American Express to British Airways and then transferred those from ba to Qatar that whole process was done within two minutes and then I snagged my two seats anyone in the world can buy Qatar Airways avios on sale sometimes for a price as low as 1.1 cents per point if you did that you could effectively get this ticket for the equivalent of about 1 250 dollars one way which is mind-blowingly good for a business class ticket between Europe and New Zealand my us viewers can of course get it even cheaper by signing up for one of my many recommended credit cards either the American Express Gold Card offering an amazing sign upon bonus and bonus categories or another great one the British Airways card from Chase which is offering an all-time record high signup bonus you can learn more about those cards and apply through my links which greatly supports my work by the links in the description below with that thank you so much for watching my friends my voice is dead and until I see you next time fly safe if you think that's good what about Qatar Airways first class watch this video now to find out what that experience is like
