hello and welcome to euchre Mediacom my name is Sergey Rock Nevsky and today I'm going to show you 23 scripts and After Effects and they are super awesome very useful but they're actually part of 50 free scripts that a guy named Jeff Alma sole just gave away one day he you can find him on the website called redefine recom this guy's super talented just amazing scripts very useful and they're free but he does ask you to consider donating to a charity important to you in fact he does say if my scripts save you time maybe pass the savings unto organizations doing good work so is motive buffa behind is definitely awesome and his scripts are pretty awesome as well so let's go to the website and download it right here and there's 50 of them but we're only I'm only going to show you 20 right now because we don't really have time but anyway let's dive right in I'll show you how to install them next after you download them okay so once you've downloaded the file you'll see some like this all you have to do just extract it so extract click extract all or use whatever software you want to use to extract it and then go into it and then our D scripts is what you're interested in so make sure to drag this into the scripts folder inside After Effects so and to get there just go to Program Files Adobe After Effects support files and inside there that'll you'll see a folder called scripts and that's where I'm on right now and just click and drag into the main root of the folder and then once it's there what you can see mine is already there just go into After Effects and then you'll see it if you click file and scripts you'll see them right here but the problem with this let's say if I want to open this up here's one of them if I want to like the own problem it's floating around what if I want to dock this thing into my interface here in other words I can't really do it that's the only problem but you can set it up to where it does that but you have to go back to the folders here and basically inside the scripts folder you see the script script UI panels and if you don't see that all we have to do just create a new folder and label it exactly the same as it is here and once just click in there once you're there anything you load any scripts you load in there you'll be able to access them through I'll show you here in after-effects you'll see them in here window and you'll see you'll see them at the bottom here so if I do the script launcher thing you can sell it's still loose but now I see this tab thing and I can click over here and drag and I can dock this thing anywhere anywhere I want to really and the awesome thing with this you can also save your layout the next time you open up After Effects you'll see it in here so number one is script launcher and I already showed you how to bring it in here and stuff like that but let me show you what it does so script launcher all it does is it basically you can put like you can create a folder somewhere and put all your scripts that use daily in it and all you have to do is just navigate to that folder you have to tell script launcher hey go to this folder and I'll point to my Rd folder so let's go to where we add computer I think it's an After Effects okay let's navigate to it so here it is and where my scripts folder and there you go here's my RD scripts and all I have to do is just tell it to go there and grab all the scripts and load them up here and it'll do it right there instantly and it's super awesome so now you save a few few steps from like going file and loading them up you can just pull them up from here like here's the movement one just double-click and there it is what's awesome about this as well is that you can save this layout and next time you open After Effects all of them are going to be in there number two is batch layer converter and for this I just have a quick little setup here and all it is just After Effects text in here and then Photoshop text that I saved it in Photoshop as you know the text and Photoshop and brought it in as Photoshop file in fact I don't know if you know this but you can bring a Photoshop file that has text in it and can make it editable in After Effects just all you have to do just select it right click on the text and say convert to editable text and then you can do whatever you want with it so yeah if you didn't know that it's pretty useful but do I have that and I also have vector files from Illustrator and I just want to show you how all of these formats work with Batchelor converters so I'm going to bring it up by using my script lunch or so Bachelor converter but you can go to file and load it up that way scripts and find Bachelor cover right here so uh you know how after fax with if you want to like convert this text to shape or masks you know you just have to right-click on it and there you have it and it keeps you original but what if you want to do multiple ones at the same time if you do right-click it doesn't give you that option so Bachelor converter will do that for you so what you have to do just click on this while your layers are selected and there you have it no it does keep the original layer but if you want to get rid of it just select this check box right here and select the layers you want to affect oops and then do that and there you have it it's the original layer is not there so that's pretty useful for that for Photoshop text not so much because you can select all of them at once and do it without the script so and the same thing for that actually you can select multiple vectors and you can create shapes from vector files that way but the only thing that this will help you you can delete the original one for this one so if you if you do it this way you know create shapes from vectors the original ones are in there but if you do it this way and select this checkbox you can tell that it's not there so pretty cool number three is copy markers and for this I just have this layer and I'm just gonna create random like a markers on this layer just random places doesn't really matter and I'll label some of them just so we have something to play here with so some like this is good um and let's say what if I want to copy markers from this layer and place him on this layer how do I do it and obviously you can't do it without the script but this copy marker script will do it for you and the way it works is like this all you have to do just select the first layer and basically the layer that has markers on so basically you'll copy from this layer and then second layer you select by holding down control is the layer it's going to go to so first layer is getting that the markers from and second layer selecting it it's going to go to this layer so after you have the the proper layer selected just click double click on this and there you have it number four is key markers and for this I just have a quick set up here pretty much position rotation scale keyframes and what this script does is simple in fact I'm going to bring it up quickly here double-click right there and you'll see a pop-up window right there floating in your After Effects and what it does is simple it basically identifies your key frames in a marker so let's say if if let's say you don't see your keyframes right and let me set this up so keyframes to identify I want it all in composition that's good place markers on I just want it to be placed on selected layer or whatever layer I select I want markers to be on that layer but you can do new no top layer all a jazz but that's what I'm selecting and then what I want to reveal or marker comments would be let's say let's do property name I just want to know what the what keyframes are here like I know that now I know that its position but if I'm have bunch of layers and stuff I just want to know what's where are the keyframes and what are they so let's see what this how this works so create key markers select that and you can see position is right underneath here and position keyframe is run underneath there so if I hit P that's dead-on and the same thing for rotation let's see what I'll say yeah it had it identifies it as rotation and it's right underneath each marker so that's good and scale the same thing goes there as well so that's neat so let me hide this again let's let's look at more stuff so let's do property shortcut so position we know it's going to be P so that's awesome you P and you'll see that right underneath there let's try something else is your key time so let's select this layer and you can cell where where keyframes are happening so that's pretty cool and the same thing goes for keyframe value so if I'll select this the position layer you can see the value of each keyframe so let's go to scale here and rotation you get the idea and also there's a property name and key value so for rotation here it should say like rotation and yeah rotations 0 rotation 360 that's cool and last one is comment so that can be anything let's say you just want to say I'll say you commedia and so any layer I'll select it'll just you commedia right underneath or above each keyframe so that's pretty much it it's very useful but when you have tons of layers and you just want to know where things are number five is remove keys and for this one I'm just going to hold on to the last setup we did so something like this and I'm only interested in these key frames so let me bring up the script here double click remove keys and it's very simple here only interested in these elements here all right so let me show you how this works so in order to for it to do any kind of actions you have to select the layers you want it to affect so I'm going to select these layers and say all right remove all keyframes so and all the keyframes are removed at school let's go to the next one inside work area so anything inside these work area let me do ctrl Z anything inside the work area will be all the keyframes that is selected I'm afraid on the layers will be removed so if I shift this work area to here and do remove keyframes anything inside there was removed so that's cool let's move on to the next one so next one it is inside layer in and out so I'm just going to focus on one layer here and here's the in and out of the layer so anything inside here will be removed so like that at school we undo this and the next one is outside layer in and out so anything outside of in and out so basically anything outside will be removed so here from here on will be removed so let's see if that happens cool all right let's go to the next one let me can you see that okay next will be before and after in time so like anything beef at current time and before will be removed so let me select all the layers here so let's see if that happens yep so awesome let's move on to the next one this one is at and after so at this time and after all the keyframes will be removed so awesome ok and few more odd numbers so that's cool so if you do odd numbers and just select the layers you want to affect it to and it'll just erase every other keyframe and obviously the same thing goes for the even numbers so as you can see this this script is very useful I can see how it can help you with your key frames and stuff number 6 is remove markers and really it's honestly it's the exact same thing as remove keys only with markers in fact the interface of it looks exactly same and so you get the idea of how the other one works so let's say I'm just gonna do one let's say at and after current time so at and after all the key all the markers will be removed so whatever you select like that so it's honestly it's the exact same thing number seven is divvy up and this one is pretty cool so let's say I have this layer and I wanted to cut it in the exact four parts like I mean identical I don't want to like you know do like this and then match it up so there's a script for it so if you bring this did the up the script up and you can just tell how many parts you want let's say let's do six parts so whatever layers select that's what it's gonna affect so hit the button and as you can see there it is number eight is kind of sorter and this script has to do with the order of the layers and stuff so let me show you what I mean so let's say I'll double click on the kind of sort of script and this is all that is effect so basically you tell it what's in fact all the layers in your composition on only select few so I'm just going to do all of them and order by let's do first from order just random order and if you hit sort and just going to give you random order it's pretty cool if that's what you're going for next one is selected order so I'm going to let's say do this I'm going to hold down control and say I want this one to be first this one second third fourth fifth sixth seventh and hits sort and I'll do it exactly like you selected it and you can reverse that that's cool all right let's do endpoints so my endpoints is going to sort exactly according to my endpoints so if you hit sort as you can see it did it and you can reverse that as well so next is out point and the same thing it goes according to your out point and you can reverse that as well let's see layer name so it's going to sort layers according to the name like that that's good and the last one is a layers z-position it has to do with a 3d which I'm not going to go over but anyway that is it number nine is masks the shapes and for this I'm going to bring in a solid into my composition something like this and I'll draw let's say a star something like this okay that's good and it's a mask on my solid so how would I convert this into a shape and it's simple all I have to do is just double click on this master shape script and it will give me a shape but you can see the small outline so how do you fill this sometimes it gives you the problem so all you have to do just make sure you bring a fill in there and you can change it to whatever color you want so there you have it number 10 is shapes to masks and it's basically the exact same thing we just did just in Reverse so let's bring in a star shape into our composition like so and if we go and find a script that's called shapes to masks and double click on it and basically convert this into a mask nothing happens and the reason what nothing happens because this star has some elements that are still editable as you can see you can do points and stuff you just need to convert this into a busier path and all you have to do just right click here and say convert to Bezier path and now as you can see it's just a path and you can pretty much do the same thing you just did shapes to masks and this time you'll give you a solid with a shape or mask on it like so number eleven is new parallax snow and this one is interesting actually show how it works so I'm going to create generate some random movements here on my position properties here so point five and some wiggle expression like maybe one negative one fifty and then I'll click on this one type the same thing maybe this time I'll just do like one and maybe two hundred and so basically just random movement here that's what I'm going for so the way this works you're just going to have to select two or both of them here and then click on the new parallax a null script and automatically it gives you a null between your two the each the center the pivot point of each object whatever our text so as you can see when it moves the null is always center between these two objects so if you move the pivot point which you just have to select one if you move the pivot point somewhere else it will always be the center between the two pivot pivot points so that's interesting you can do some cool things with it and especially if you go to this Knoll I'm sorry if you go to this snow in the effect control property here you can actually animate it so let's say from zero zero being adhered the no being here and one is this object so if I animate that let's say it keyframe here and then you to reveal it so if I hit it to zero you can see that this snow is now with this object like so now if I go to like I know like 15 frames forward and then hit key frame and just keyframe it to 1 you can tell that now it's moving with that so if you animate that like like I just did you can see that it's moving with this one then it's shifts and it moves with that I mean this is interesting because now you can you can play with this stuff like let's say if I move the pivot point hit Y on the keyboard and just move the pivot point I'll hold down shift and like right in front of it like so and then do the same thing and move it right in front of it like this and then if I bring in like a I don't know like a circle or let's do like a yeah like this like a some kind of shape and then you know altered a little bit let's do like 50 scale like I just want something tiny okay and if I select let me see where my pivot point is yeah it's right in the middle so if I shift hold down shift and then parent it to the null it's gonna be with the null and it's going to be moving with the null so you can see Yuma creating an animation to where it's focusing this text and then it shifts to the next one so this can be useful and definitely worth your I'm and just play with it and see what you come up with number 12 is kiss pun no and I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing right but anyway let me show you how this works let's say I bring in a null I bring that in here and just put it in one corner right there and then just duplicate that and then put it in there and let's type like I just say left here and right there so if you select these two and then click on KS spawn and as you can see now when you it creates a null in between them - and when you select one the null in the middle moves with it so how can you use this so before let me hit T and then bring the opacity down to zero on both both nulls right there so but if you select this this text and just parent it to the null it created now you can just animate each null and I'll give you a cool effect so yeah it's pretty neat number 13 is new project from comp and really what it is is the same thing if you were to select this project or this comp and you wanted to create a new project from it so what you would do you normally would just select this and go to file dependencies and you would reduce it first and then after everything is reduced you would you would go to file and then go to dependencies and collect files and that will create a new project so all those moves you just did is simplified in one script and it's called new project from comps so or from comp and then you would just double click select the comp you want to create a new project from and just double click on that and it will guide you through say ok to save ok where it'll tell you you want to replace it yet because I already had one and then it would ask you where to place it and you just would direct it to the place you wanted to place it in and then after that it would basically give you a project with just that one comp and all the elements you need for that one copy number 14 is pre composed and for this one I'm going to use footage of my son Elijah I love this kid anyway back to it so you know how sometimes you pre compose stuff and you just never get there is you want there's always some something extra edges I'm never satisfied with it but with this freakin PostScript if you just double-click select the the layer you want to pre compose and just double click you can do the same thing you normally do you know leave all attributes or move all attributes which is awesome but right here you can actually add some handles to eat to the beginning and the end of your clip so let's say I can do like point to here and if you hit OK not only it does it move it and you know pre-compose it but it gives you a little room here to play with for like transition or whatever and if you go into it you can tell that it's the exact duration of the clip you need so yeah it's really awesome I use it quite often number 15 is comp sheet and for this I'm going to reuse the footage of my son but let's just say you want to create a style frames of your animation and you want select certain frames and make it happen so basically what you would do with this comp sheet script you have to first of all whatever clip you use you have to change the name to style frames no in order for it to work so that's the first step you have to do so next you just pick some frames you like so and you use asterisks on your keyboard to create markers so let's say like something like this frame that frame let's save this frame let's do that that and oops and like let's do two more so these are the frames alike and once you selected your frames what you do next select your layer and then hit this comp sheet and then in here you can create some stuff you can you know have some some options with rows columns and all that stuff I'm going to leave it as this and spacing all this is fine with me and then just say create calm she and it will create a new composition right there and when you double click on it you can see that it gave you this style frames stuff so it's really neat and you don't even have to leave after-effects to generate something like this number 16 is slicer and this one is a fun one in fact I'm going to reuse the footage of my son here but let's say I wanted to cut this footage into a bunch of pieces and anime hp's how would I do it this slicer will speed it up for you so you can double-click on that wall and select the layer and you can say you know five rows and eight columns and you could do two pixel margin you can you can adjust all this stuff but two pixel margin margin between each cut and then you can round it now you know I'll just expects it but you can do it as much as you want but all this stuff is pretty cool so once you're done just hit slice and as you can see like each segment is has its own individual pivot point and you could animate this and they're also attached to this know so you can move it together you can make it 3d I mean you can go nuts with this this this script is very awesome and very useful number 17 is scooter and this one is really awesome let me show you how it works so double-click on the scooter here and bring it in and you can let me try out start out with a keyframe so I can select tell it to move only selected keyframes so I can select position and rotation only and then move it like three frames at a time and it will only select move those and nothing else you can also you know select only few and do the same thing and it will only move what you're selected so that that in itself is really awesome but what's really cool you can actually adjust these numbers in here so you could put like five frames ten frames and it will do that for you so I think that feature in itself is awesome so next let's say all frames whatever if you select this layer and if it has any frames it will move all of them so let's see see all of them shifted three frames so that's cool so we're done with keyframes let's move to the layer side so layer source and what layer source is is if I make this shorter like this this source is still there so if you select that and move the layer source you can tell that it's moving but the in of the layer isn't moving so that's what it means by layer source okay and then let's go to layer in and out so it's kind of the same thing instead of this shifting the end the end of the layer will be shifting so like but no keyframes nothing nothing shifting so that's cool and then a layer of markers and that's something really hard to shift you'd have to ship the whole layer but with this one you can actually shift markers all at once so let's say once you have that selected and select a layer the markers are on and just shift in one frame or three frames at a time and that is it scooter is super awesome number 18 is shifter and this one is super easy to use so basically let me bring this up it's all about moving the layers together so if I select all these layers and let's say I want to move together to like this point and not do one of these you know I actually want to move together I mean I can drag it but what this will do you can do tab selected for this top layer it will shift everything according to that and line them up like that or you could do bottom selected so if it could be up to this point you know like that you can also play around with like first two like this so if you should like this layer first and then like do stuff and then that maybe that one last so whatever you did first it will line up to the first one and whatever you did last it will line up to the last one so you get the point it's a very easy to use simple and it could be useful at times number 19 is movement and this one is really cool as well so let me tell you more about it so here is the layout of it so it's all about moving the time indicator across your time line so you can move it one frame or 20 frames or you can do like customs for like 15 frames so the sky's the limit you can adjust these numbers sorry that's really cool but the other feature that's interesting to me is this one right here it's called favorites so you can set let's say 1 and like here and just set it as number one and then maybe right here for number two and then like at the end over here for number three and over here for number four and so what's cool you can jump around between all of those so you can go to all the stuff you set and it will kind of switch around that in itself is really interesting to me all right so the last one is snap decisions and this one is very practical so you know how sometimes when you select frames and you click and drag them almost every time you can tell that a certain keyframes just don't line up right like right here there should be this should be on this line it just doesn't look right so sometimes you have to go and fix it yourself and you know drag them but if you have too many keyframes that can be very time-consuming so that this is where snap decisions can comes in handy so if if you double click on this and tell it's you only effect keyframes and then snap to the nearest or previous/next whatever you want to do but nearest is fine and you can either do selected layers you know you can select certain layers or you can do all layers so I'm going to do all layers in fact I'm not going to select anything and hit snap and as you can see it lines all of them on on the lines that I need them to be alright so this is the end of this tutorial I hope you found it useful be sure to subscribe to my youtube channel like me on Facebook share this video comments I'd love to hear from you guys anyway thank you so much my name is sergey polyansky and this is Yuka Mediacom you
